Terra's Magnetic Field

The cool breeze blew across his cheeks, moving his hair and clothes, making him feel elegant.
"Don't you think so? Kal'tsit?..." Fang did not look back at the woman he was with. He focused on everything below.
The scenery from this high place reminded him of what happened on the top of Mount Kjerag many years ago, and Yela's words at that time seemed to echo in his ears.
After so many years, he still couldn't figure out how to respond to Ye La's words. It seemed that Ye La's principles were more difficult to understand than time and space.
Kal'tsit still didn't reply.
Fang guessed something and said with a smile:
"Haha... You are afraid that Wanbao will hear it, right? So you dare not say anything. You are afraid of her... But it is true that she does have the capital to be scared. How many people in this world are not afraid of her majestic Taizu Emperor? Her hateful world-destroying demon god?"
There was still no sound from behind.
"Oh! ................... Fang sighed. Since Kal'tsit had no interest in talking, he might as well just talk to himself. Anyway, the reason he invited Kal'tsit here this time was not only to ask her about Precious, but also to find someone to chat with.
He just thought that Kal'tsit, who had also lived for tens of thousands of years, could understand him, but now it seemed that this was not the case. Kal'tsit was also unable to understand his thoughts, which made his loneliness even more extreme and distant... and also made his heart more numb.
"If you were really afraid of Wan, why would you do so many things to betray her? In addition to the failure of refining the elixir, you also led the King of Sarkaz to attack Yan Kingdom, and fled with others after she lost power... In the past thousand years, you have betrayed and backstabbed her tens of millions of times, big and small, making me wonder whether you are brave or timid, confident or clueless."
Kal'tsit was surprisingly quiet. Although Fang felt something was wrong, he did not turn around and just continued talking.
"Kal'tsit, the all-knowing cat, if a person has absolute power but has justice in his heart, how can he realize his ideals? My eldest brother said before that he wanted to be a hero to his brothers and sisters, but I think if he really had the power to realize his ideals, he would be at a loss."
"My eldest brother is still training like crazy in Yumen. He wants to close the gap with Wan through hard work. I actually hate the theory that hard work can solve all problems, that is, if you work hard, you will definitely achieve your ideals, or don't give up! As long as you persist, there will be hope! And so on... It is because dreams cannot be realized that they are dreams, right?"
"If there really was a righteous and powerful person who could suppress the entire world, he would probably live a very painful life."
"How can we create conditions for peace in this chaotic land? You may not understand, but the magnetic field guys are all able to communicate with each other. This is why they seem unreasonable to ordinary people and they fight as soon as they meet.
"Most of the magnetic field guys know what the other party wants to do and what their purpose is with just a glance. This kind of transparent thinking will not produce the kind of scenes of mutual understanding in idealistic works. It will only lead to both sides understanding that the contradiction cannot be resolved, making them more unscrupulous when fighting. Strong power will not make them unite to build civilization, but will only make their selfish desires expand infinitely, and finally become so big that it will swallow up the entire universe."
"The root cause of all the conflicts in this land is the issue of territory and status. As long as this issue cannot be resolved, the struggle will not stop.
No matter how much you say, it is useless. "
"So how can we achieve peace? Since reasoning is useless, I can only resort to force. I will destroy the entire damn world by myself! I will madly slaughter the strong who disobey me, and finally make the heavens and gods fear me..."
"Does this sound familiar? Yes, Wan is like this, so you are afraid of her."
"In the end, whether it is evil or justice, if you want to achieve your goal, you can only use the same method."
"In a world that is conquered by force, no one cares whether the ruler is good or evil. They only fear power and obey it. Such a rule will quickly collapse after the death of the strongest person."
"So in a sense, there is no difference between the hegemons and the righteous, in their impact on this land, at least in the eyes of the lower class."
"I have seen a righteous man who used force to maintain peace and rule. He devoted his life to this land. During his reign, the country prospered and the people lived and worked in peace and contentment."
"His hands were stained with blood in his life in order to maintain the so-called peace. Some of it was from his former companions, some from strangers, and even from his blood relatives and loved ones... He tried to eliminate all factors that were not conducive to maintaining peace. The more he lost, the more paranoid he became. In the end, he drifted away from the people around him and became a loner."
"In the end, he even killed his own crazy daughter to maintain peace in the world, but in the end, outsiders would only think that he was cruel and ruthless... Let me ask you, how can a man who can kill even his own daughter be kind to others?"
"In the end, he became like his exiled mother in the eyes of outsiders. People feared him, revered him, and flattered him as they feared his mother, placing him on the cold and lonely throne to be the only emperor."
"He then left the place he had ruled, and the cold throne was passed on to his daughter's descendants. A hundred years later, no one in the place he had ruled mentioned him anymore. The people were already afraid of the new emperor. In their eyes, there was no difference between each generation of emperors. They were all equally cruel."
"In the end, how many people know what is good and what is evil? How many people will consider this kind of question?"
"In the end, the deeds of that righteous man were only recorded in a few pages of history books, and his vast and magnificent life was summarized as killing his sister and daughter..."
(Yan State History Book: Wan Bai was cruel by nature. When he was young, he killed his sister to seize the throne. In his later years, he killed his daughter for fear that she would kill him to take the throne. His disciple Lin had the power to seize the world. However, he made great contributions to governing the country and was widely loved by the people.
Wanchou: As expected of our ancestor)
“Sigh!……………………………………”
"Have you said enough?" A cold female voice came from behind Fang. Fang's mouth curled up, he knew who had come.
“Enough, that’s enough…” Fang took a deep breath.
He turned around and leaned against the railing, raised his hand and called to the woman behind him:
"Hello, Wanbao."
Wan, who was standing opposite, was holding Kal'tsit by the collar with one hand, like a pet cat. Her face was as hard as a stone, and it was obvious that Fang's words just now made her very unhappy.
Although the two were only ten steps apart, the way they looked at each other gave people the illusion that these ten steps were longer than the entire universe.
They were once so close, but now they are so far away.
What changed the distance between them?
Is it time? Maybe... Time can indeed change many things, but it is not the main reason. It just gives some necessary conditions some time to ferment.
After all, they know each other too well!
Although they will feel a sense of mutual admiration and will involuntarily approach each other when they first meet, this mutual admiration will gradually turn into disgust after being together for a long time.
No one will like another self in this world.
"So, what do you think about what I said just now? Do you think I was talking nonsense?" Fang asked.
"You are telling the truth, but it makes me very unhappy. I don't want to remember those unpleasant things. Don't mention them in front of me in the future! I will hear them unconsciously..." Wan suppressed his emotions and said to his former lover in a very calm tone.
"Alas!... You really still care about Xiaobai..." Fang replied.
Wan's face twitched, and he showed an unhappy expression before carrying Kal'tsit away.
That’s all for today.
Thanks to my friend [eneySoul] for the reward of a spicy snack. Your support is the motivation for my creation!
Postscript: Fang was originally as aloof as Wanbao, but the things he experienced and the people he met soothed his sharpness and made him calm.
Finally, let’s briefly talk about the movie The Wandering Earth 2. Friends who haven’t watched it yet can just skip it because it contains spoilers.
First of all, the "Wandering Earth" series is derived from Liu Cixin's short story. The original text seems to be only a few pages, so in my opinion, this movie series is actually a "fan fiction" written by other screenwriters based on the original novel.
I'm not sure how many film scripts Liu Cixin has participated in, but a lot of the content is not in his style. I tend to think that the main writing was done by someone else, and Liu Cixin reviewed and revised it.
In short, I only watched "The Wandering Earth 2" during the Spring Festival this year. This movie was quite in line with my expectations. It had grand scenes, and was also excellent in terms of sensationalism and mobilizing the audience's emotions. At least it didn't seem too abrupt.
As for the actors, Andy Lau's acting is always good, Wu Jing is just OK, and Sha Yi is the source of laughter in the first half and the emotional part in the second half.
Mr. Li Xuejian is a veteran actor, so there is nothing to complain about. I can say that the acting skills of the actors in this movie are not as distracting as in the last movie. They are all quite natural. (But I am surprised that the secretary next to Li Xuejian did not age after more than ten years. Is she a bionic person? Or a hidden immortal cultivator? Maybe it is a foreshadowing? Maybe the next movie will directly tell you that the solar explosion is bullshit. The latest version is just an ultimate brawl.)
In terms of science fiction, many scenes are delicately designed and the application of high technology is dazzling, but the demonization of artificial intelligence makes me feel uncomfortable.
It seems that every sci-fi work that involves artificial intelligence will have a plot of AI rebellion, probably brought about by the Terminator? The latest one directly reveals that Moss is the villain who wants to destroy humanity (what Rafi).
The scientific researcher played by Andy Lau directly ascended into data and turned himself into a data body (this... really makes me not know how to complain about it). It seems that after humans are digitized, they will become omnipotent electronic gods. No wonder a lot of people wanted data ascension at the beginning.
So what is the point of the Wandering Earth Project? Why not just build an interstellar spaceship, set up artificial intelligence for automatic control, and load all human data into a virtual server, and then clone the body and upload the consciousness to revive the spaceship after it reaches a new habitable planet? So why did humans suffer for generations? To torture the Earth?
Also, the background at the beginning said that data ascension was banned by the United Nations, but later some officials seemed to be able to back up their own data? What is this called? Others can't study it, but you can use it for your own people? Can you use the scientific research results of this technology at will even if the research is banned?
The worldview of this series cannot be explored in depth, because the original work is just a brain hole of Liu Cixin's essay. If you think about it carefully, the technology tree of The Wandering Earth is even more crooked than that of The Ark. It can ascend data and make the earth fly, but it just can't master space teleportation and cloning.
All in all, this movie is safe to watch, and I think it's quite interesting.

Chapter 407: The Greatness of Selfishness
When Razer woke up from a long coma, she opened her eyes and saw the newcomer who disgusted her. That guy had a half-hearted and uninterested feeling about him, and that feeling disgusted her.
Razer felt sick just by seeing this young Lupo codenamed [Knife]. His existence was an insult to her life's hard work. Why could such a careless person like him be unscathed, while she worked so hard but...
Razer looked at Franka on the bed on his right. She was wearing the same hospital gown as himself. Although she was still in a coma, her complexion was obviously much better. She would probably wake up soon, right?
Razer and the others are now in the ward of the medical department. Injured operators will be transferred here for recuperation and can only return to work after recovery. Of course, the expenses in the ward will be deducted from the salary and year-end bonus. For this reason, most operators often apply for early discharge, after all, the hospitalization fee is a large amount.
"Ah, senior, are you awake?" Knife smiled at Razer. He sat between Razer and Franka's beds.
The first thing Razer said to him was:
"How long have I been in a coma?"
"Four days. Four days and four nights have passed since the night I was admitted to the hospital." Knife replied.
After hearing this, Razer quickly got up from the bed. The four-day accommodation fee was equivalent to her salary for more than half a month! She even blamed Knife for not waking her up earlier. This level of injury can be cured by cell reconstruction...
"Huh?... Unable to recombine cells?!" Razer was very surprised when he saw that the power of cell recombination could not work on him.
Knife crossed his legs and watched her make a fool of herself. After Razer failed several times, he finally spoke:
"Senior, cell recombination is not a panacea~", Knife's tone was like teasing a child.
"Shut up! You don't need to remind me!" Razer was still trying to reconstruct the damaged parts, but her power seemed unable to work on her own cells. It was like a [curse]...
(Lafite: Real damage, that’s scary, right?)
"There are some strong people in this world. Their power can hinder the enemy's cell recombination, thus causing difficult-to-heal injuries to the enemy." Knife put away his smile. His expressionless face looked quite majestic.
The moment Knife showed a serious expression, Razer's heart also trembled. Her body was so stiff that she couldn't move, her lungs couldn't even breathe, and her soul seemed to be suppressed by a heavy object... But that feeling only lasted for a moment, because after a moment Knife returned to his usual smile.
"Probably, is that it? Actually, I don't quite understand..." Knife closed the leather-bound book he had been reading with one hand. In an instant, the entire ward was filled with the only noise of medical equipment running.
“……………………”, Razer took a deep breath. Although her body felt much more relaxed, her mind was still not recovered. She wondered in her heart, “What on earth was going on with that pressure just now? Was it my illusion?”
Although Razer guessed something, she was too rational to confirm it. She asked Knife in a trance:
"what do you?……"
"A solitary king, a lonely throne, an empire of one man. I was born on the earth, and the sea nurtured me. I have committed all the evil in the world, and I have enjoyed all the joys of heaven and earth..."
Knife picked up the book he had been reading before. It seems
It was a collection of poems. He placed the collection in front of Razer, shook it, leaned forward slightly, and said with a smile:
"…This is a line of poetry I just read. It is a masterpiece by a certain Gallic poet. I quite like his poems."
Knife rubbed his face against the leather cover, and Razer vaguely recognized a few gold-plated words on the cover, something like "Destiny" and "Eternal Song". According to her experience, those who would give their works such names are all neurotic egomaniacs.
Knife said again:
"As you can see, I'm just an ordinary young man."
"What a weirdo..." Razer muttered.
She was no longer interested in asking about Knife's true identity. It seemed that everyone in Rhodes Island had unspeakable secrets and no one was simple.
In Razer's opinion, Rhodes Island is more like a shelter than a pharmaceutical company, housing weirdos from all over the world. And the law and order operators are like weirdo administrators, probably.
So even if Knife suddenly announced one day that he was the heir to the throne of a certain country, or some alien life form, Razer would not find it strange.
She has been with Saria for a long time, and her psychological endurance has been strengthened.
At work, Saria often tells her colleagues about her bizarre experiences in the past.
After hearing this, Razer doubted more than once whether the world she lived in was real. She couldn't even figure out whether Saria was serious or just talking nonsense. "Space people", "giants", "giant beasts" and so on, these extraordinary things didn't seem to exist in the world Razer lived in, at least she had never encountered them while growing up.
So now Razer will no longer ask about Knife's true identity. There is no need to dig into many things in this world. Let's just keep some distance between them...
"Senior, you must be thinking about something troubled again, right?" Knife took out an apple from the fruit basket on the bedside table, and then took out the folding dagger he carried with him to peel the apple. He stared at the blade while peeling the apple, and looked very serious.
"You are just too serious. Although this is not a shortcoming, as far as I know, serious people in this world usually don't live a very happy life. Because if you think about it carefully, you will find that we are actually living in an unreasonable world. People who understand this will live an extremely entangled life..." Knife said while peeling the fruit.
He peeled the apple with a knife, cut off a small piece of flesh from the smooth fruit, and thrust it in front of Razer with the tip of the knife.
He didn't say anything, just smiled.
"Ah————", Knife opened his mouth to signal.
"What are you doing? Do you treat me as a child? I'm not..." Razer felt that she was looked down upon by this young man again. In her opinion, the other party had never taken her seriously, and the call of "senior" was pure ridicule.
"Ah————" Knife didn't reply, but just opened his mouth to repeat his previous action.
"Ah..." Razer reluctantly opened her mouth a little, and Knife took advantage of the opportunity to stuff the fruit pulp into her mouth. A cold feeling entered Razer's mouth, and this feeling of being violated made her a little resistant.
They kept repeating this awkward process and it took them more than ten minutes to finish eating the apple.
After finishing, Knife used a tissue to wipe the blade that was stained with juice and Razer's saliva, then straightened the wiped blade and held it up to the sunlight coming in through the window at noon, and finally folded it and put it back in his pocket with satisfaction.
"Senior, it would be great if you could always be so honest?"
"Shut up!" Razer yelled at Knife. Her self-esteem seemed to disappear in front of this young man... Although he didn't do anything to offend her, she just felt that this guy didn't treat her like an elder and was being toyed with in various ways...
Knife stood up, patting his shoulders with both hands, and stretched his body. He saw the sun outside the window was setting, and realized that he had been in this place for a long time, so he said politely to Razer:
"Maybe my behavior made you feel a little overwhelmed. I'm sorry, it was all my own fault... I'm leaving now. Please take care of yourself and Franca-senpai..."
"Are you leaving?...Where are you going?" Razer asked subconsciously. She hated this young man, but when he was really about to leave, she was reluctant to let him go... Was she actually expecting this guy to stay here and accompany her more?
How is it possible? Absolutely not!
"I'm actually much busier than you think," Knife walked to the door of the ward and smiled at Razer.
