Hogwarts doesn't need a savior

Soon, students also poured into the auditorium and filled it up.
The one at the front was Percy. He and Penelope arrived first and got a good position.
Following behind were Harry and his two companions who had set out early.
The diligent Hermione was a little surprised by her friends' rare enthusiasm.
But as soon as she saw Lynn, she immediately focused on preparing for the class and had no time to pay attention to her two friends.
All the young wizards in the school gathered together, and it was a scene comparable to a banquet and a Quidditch match.
-----------------
"Good afternoon, distinguished professors and students from all colleges."
Walking to the podium that served as a makeshift platform, Lynn picked up the wand and lightly touched it to his lips.
The glimmer of magic was fleeting.
His voice immediately became louder.
Even the students sitting at the back can hear it clearly without it sounding noisy.
Everyone felt just right.
This is an advanced technique for mana control, and also a small improvement.
The first class on runes and ancient magic began.
Chapter 19 What is Magic?
Lynn spoke, and the huge auditorium fell silent.
Regardless of grade or college, all eyes were focused on him, with a mixture of emotions.
"This may be the first time for you to experience this kind of classroom model." Under the light, Lin En's plain black robe became conspicuous, "but I believe this is a good way to enhance understanding."
The magnetic voice seemed to ring directly in the ears of every student, making them concentrate instinctively.
Hermione stared at the textbook, trying to find any information in those amber eyes.
She had already finished reading all the reference books for this course and had a lot of questions.
Lin En also felt this eager gaze, and slowly spoke with a smile:
"Some people must know me, and some people must not be familiar with me. I am Lynn Eric, professor of Runes and Ancient Magic, and I will be in charge of the practical courses for the next year."
The magic slide projector started to turn and projected his name into the air.
"There are two ways to translate magic words. One is ancient runes, and the other is rune symbols. They represent the source of words and magic respectively."
"Rune magic is a type of ancient magic. After the magic was lost, the rune symbols that lost their magical power were passed down to this day as text and are used to record ancient documents."
"Magic is always changing. Some magic has been passed down to this day, while some has been lost in history."
"Some, like Rune, have returned and are now visible again."
Looking at the students with different expressions, Lynn made an opening speech in a gentle tone, and only waved his wand until everyone started thinking.
The letters in the air broke, integrated, and regenerated, turning into a brand new line of text.
This was his first question in class.
"So I want to ask everyone, what is magic?"
"Whether it's ancient or modern, the magic we master is specific, but I want to ask everyone a question, what do you think magic as a whole is?"
There was silence at first, and then a few hands were raised.
"Slytherin, second row, fourth from the left, please introduce yourself first." Lynn pointed to the one who raised his hand the fastest.
"Andrew Travers, Professor. Magic is power, the basis for wizards to survive and maintain order."
The stern-faced young man stood up and gave an answer stiffly but firmly. He was the seventh-year prefect of Slytherin.
"Standard answer: Is Torquil Travers your elder?" Lynn asked with a smile.
Andrew's face lit up with joy, and he said modestly, "He is my great-grandfather."
"With a family background of learning, you are a good fit for the Ministry of Magic. Five points for Slytherin." Lynn nodded, looked around, and called out in the direction of Gryffindor, "Fred."
"Magic is a way of life, Professor."
"Like Quidditch and fireworks and skipping candy!"
The two brothers sang in unison and had a perfect understanding.
"Interesting answer. A deceased Muggle thinker would approve. Five points from Gryffindor. Also, raise your hand before speaking next time, George."
Lynn smiled brightly and encouraged, "Any other ideas? I'm looking forward to it."
More and more hands were raised, and even Hermione, who didn't like open-ended questions, hesitated to raise her hand.
But Lynn didn't choose Gryffindor and Slytherin again.
"Hufflepuff fifth row, Boyce."
"Sir, I believe magic is a medium through which we experience the world, just like our hands, feet and eyes."
Boyce Springhall is an outgoing young man, a Hufflepuff prefect and in his fifth year.
As soon as he finished speaking, several friends around him applauded, half encouraging and half cheering.
"I like this answer. Hufflepuff gets 10 points." Lynn praised. "Any more? For the last one, I hope everyone will think carefully about it. It's not just about the score, it's very important for your wizarding journey."
The little wizards were very enthusiastic, even the Slytherins were enthusiastic.
Lynn looked around, Cedric, Percy, Penelope... and a Slytherin girl named Doris. His eyes swept over the potential people he was interested in.
Turning around, he saw Harry, and their eyes met in the air.
Thinking of the message she had written on impulse, Lynn smiled and blinked, then raised her hand and said, "Last row of Ravenclaw, fifth from the left."
"Hello, professor. I'm Luna, Luna Lovegood." The petite girl slowly stood up in the melodious choir-like tone. She was the girl Lynn had met in Diagon Alley that day. Her silver-white eyes were very impressive.
"Very well, Miss Lovegood, what is your answer?"
"Magic is our soul. It cannot be described in detail. It is the most unique thing in the world."
Luna looked dazed, her voice was ethereal, and her carrot earrings were shaking while she spoke. She looked a little crazy, but her words were totally unlike those of a woman her age.
Very Ravenclaw.
She didn't care about the discussions around her, she just looked at Lin En steadily and continued: "We are all part of the universe, and magic is the most special thing about us."
This answer was beyond Lynn's expectations.
He never thought that an eleven-year-old girl could give such insight, and it took him a while to come back to his senses.
"Very good, Luna."
Glancing at the expressionless McGonagall and Flitwick, he gently raised his wand and used the magic thread to outline the girl's face in the air.
"Swish"
With a slight sound, the unique pattern quickly shrank.
In the suitcase in the corner, a silver-white metal ball floated into the air, absorbing the pattern and turning it into a faint mark.
"20 points to Ravenclaw. Your answer reminded me of a good friend."
Lynn bowed slightly, and light blue magic power flowed out from the top of the wand, turning into a long and narrow ribbon, holding the sphere and falling into Luna's hands.
"This is the reward you deserve, please accept it."
"Thank you, Professor."
Luna, as usual, slowly tied the metal ball to the necklace on her chest.
With those bottle corks.
This result was so surprising that everyone started to whisper to each other.
"Everyone!" Lin En raised his voice slightly, "Everyone can and should have their own definition of magic. Everyone has their own opinion."
"But please remember that your understanding of magic is your own path. I hope you can persevere and walk your own path well."
"Now allow me to tell you what I think."
After completing its mission, the blue ribbon did not dissipate, but turned into a point of light, slowly rising into the sky, activating the dome and allowing the starry sky of the dinner to return.
“Magic is a kind of power and a way of life. We use it as a medium to explore the soul. The answers given by the four students have their own emphasis and reasons.”
Lynn's magic wand danced, imprinting several answers in the air.
Then, the words began to move, collide with each other, and collapse into a black dot, but it had the magic to attract attention.
Maybe it was only a second or two, or maybe it was a long time, the black dot began to expand and split, turning into a line of delicate words.
【Magic is mysterious】
Just as Harry expected, and just as the title page showed.
"This is my answer." Seeing the students' confusion, Lin En said with a smile, "You may be wondering, what is mystery? It seems difficult to understand."
"This incomprehensibility is one of the most important tasks of our class today."
Feeling everyone's brainstorming, Lynn felt that his teaching objectives had been achieved, and his tone was light, full of confidence and determination.
“Mystery is the essence of the world, which can be felt but cannot be explained, just like the starry sky above, deep and fascinating.”
"The deeper we explore, the more we will feel the mystery. It comes from knowledge, but also from the ignorance that arises from knowledge. This cycle becomes the source of our power."
With a small smile on her lips, Lynn made affirmative statements.
Chapter 20 Lynn's View on Magic
"Professor, are you saying that we don't understand magic, even if we master it?"
Below the stage, Hermione suddenly raised her hand, and the question came out first.
"That's right, Miss Granger," Lynn said. "A spell is the external form of magic, or the [shell] of magic. The essence of magic, like the [core], may not be touched by even the greatest wizard."
McGonagall and Flitwick both nodded. Even masters like them who had deeply delved into a certain field were like apprentices in front of the true mysterious nature of magic.
The more you know, the more you realize your ignorance.
“Don’t think that mystery is something scary, although the unknown does bring fear.”
Seeing what Hermione wanted to ask, Lynn gave the answer in advance, "It is precisely because of the curiosity about mystery that humans have taken the first step in development, and this is true for wizards and Muggles alike. This is our ambition, and ambition is never a derogatory term, because desire is an important source of motivation."
The Slytherins, who had been somewhat restrained, straightened their backs, and the other houses also looked thoughtful.
In the Slytherin seat, the tall girl raised her hand and asked, with Lynn's approval: "Professor, you said that magic is mysterious, so where does it come from and how does it become magic?"
"Miss Foley hits the nail on the head."
Lynn pressed the magic slide projector approvingly, and the picture changed again with the sound of turning gears.
A straight road.
The front half is covered with dirt, and the back half is covered with stars.
The little wizards made puzzled noises.
"That's my explanation."
Lin En started moving, walking slowly in front of the four colleges, telling the story.
“There are two kinds of mysteries: one buried in the past, the other hidden in the future.”
“The former requires discovery, while the latter relies on creation.”
“Magic is mysterious, and human development is about deconstructing the mystery in front of us.”
“Some mysteries are lost in time, buried in the dirt ahead, waiting to be discovered.”
“Some will be passed down, or deconstructed, like much of magic today, or remain veiled, like the starry sky above.”
“When you think you understand the mystery, you find more mystery.”
