"Enjoy the festival to your heart's content. This is my thank you gift to you."

7. With the lighting of the purifying flame, the festival of celebration officially began. The people completed their sacrifices to the gods in the erected temple, leaving the real festival to begin tomorrow.

The banquet for the three people on liu Shang was soon over. Osmandis asked several priests to come over and go back to explain the details of tomorrow's festival to Manshu.

⑹ "You are the protagonist of tomorrow. As a Pharaoh, you cannot make any mistakes."

⒊ So Mansu returned to his residence with the priests, listening to the procedures and watching them bring in scepters, crowns and clothes.

The first day of the festival is not a big deal, the real celebration starts from the second day.

Not long after the sun rose, a priest came to remind Manshu. Manshu put on the Pharaoh's clothes, wore a double crown on his head, picked up the scepter and flail, and walked down the great temple.

②The procession had gathered at the foot of the great temple, with priests carrying statues of many gods for worship, including both famous gods and minor regional gods.

First, sacrifices were offered to those obscure minor gods. They had no special temples, so sacrifices were made to them directly in public places.

Pharaoh didn't even need to do this himself. Mansu only went there to count the sacrifices to be offered, and then the priests distributed the sacrificial gifts to the minor gods who participated in the festival.

After the sacrifices to the minor gods are completed, the parade officially begins.

Statues of the pharaoh and the gods, as well as the temples built by the priests, faced the land. Ordinary people followed the procession, led by the priests.

If there are people who did not arrive at the beginning, they will crawl on the side of the road when they see the parade, and then stand up and follow behind after the parade passes by.

After arriving at the temple, Manjusri needs to climb the altar in the temple courtyard and sit on the throne facing south.

There are stone statues of two gods standing in each direction of the altar. The statues are raising their hands, as if placing their hands on Manjusri's head to bless the Pharaoh. The priests stand in a line on the stage, watching the interaction between the Pharaoh and the gods.

This process will take you to all the major temples in the city, eventually arriving at the temple built for the celebration of the Seder festival.

The statues of the gods that were carried were placed in the shrines of the Temple of the Seder Festival. After a while, the Pharaoh would rest in the palace of the temple, and the people would disperse to celebrate on their own.

The shrines placed in the temple were divided into two parts, Upper and Lower Egypt, to house statues of gods from different regions.

Offerings to the gods are the main event of the festival.

With this parade, almost a day had passed. For Manshu, it was quite a novel experience.

However, this did not make him feel tired, so after arriving at the temple, he did not rest, but instead found Nitocris and talked to her about going to the mountainous area.

After explaining the matter, Nitocris quickly left to make arrangements.

However, considering that it was a festival, Nitocris did not send anyone, but asked Osmandis to send the Sphinx.

After all, we can't let people lose the opportunity to celebrate the festival by doing such trivial things, which would still be a pity.

Chapter 13 Rebirth

The first day's festivities soon came to an end, and as the processions and the celebrating crowds dispersed, it was already night, with only the fire from the altar still lighting the place.

But Mansu couldn't fall asleep yet. He just rested for a while in the small pyramid built for the festival, then came to the temple under the pyramid.

The teaching last night was not much. I just informed Manshu of the arrangements made a few days ago, and some of them were left for today.

That is the final part of the festival, which is about offering land to the gods. Although the steps are that the pharaoh runs back and forth between two buildings that symbolize the country's territory, the actual movements are more like dance steps.

After telling the final story, the priests respectfully left the temple to continue preparing for tomorrow's activities, while Mansu returned to the pyramid to rest.

The next morning, the priests came carrying the royal boat symbolizing the sun boat of the god Ra, and Manjusri walked out of the pyramid and went to the courtyard of the temple.

Priests serving different gods stood in front of the shrines where the gods resided, holding symbols of the gods in their hands, waiting for the arrival of the Pharaoh.

The next step is to visit these gods, and then the priests will pay tribute to the Pharaoh on behalf of the gods and bless the Pharaoh.

There are about forty great gods of Upper and Lower Egypt enshrined here, including Osiris, Mut, Shu, Amon, Anubis, Isis, Set, Thoth, Ptah and so on.

Most of the famous gods are here, and this action also means that the Pharaoh has obtained the blessings of almost all the gods in Egypt.

"Pharaoh offered all things good and pure to the gods in all the shrines of the north."

“Pharaoh offered all things good and pure to the gods in all the shrines of the South.”

The south was Upper Egypt, and the north was Lower Egypt. After completing the sacrificial process, Mansu returned to the throne on the sun boat carried by the priests.

Next, the priests of the gods will offer blessings on behalf of the gods. After the priests have passed, the people participating in the parade will walk in a team under the command of the priests.

However, they would not go close to the sun boat, but would stand at a certain distance. The chief who performed the festival ceremony would shout out from the front: "Kneel down!"

At this time, the people knelt on the ground, kissed the ground, and offered their loyalty to the Pharaoh.

"In the name of Pharaoh, in the name of Amon-Ra, the king of the gods, I grant you plenty and health."

In response, the Pharaoh would give gifts to those who participated in the ceremony, usually cattle, sheep and the like, but for Manjusri it seemed to be a simpler thing to bestow blessings.

The blessing bestowed on ordinary people did not require great power. Just a little vitality to make them feel lifted up and their physical discomfort removed.

More power is indeed bestowed on this land, allowing the light of the Nile to shine even brighter.

The people who received the gifts praised even more enthusiastically. As this stage gradually came to an end, Manjusri returned to the Temple of the Holy Spirit under the small pyramid.

At this time, they have to change into festive clothes, take the flail and the shepherd's staff, and other ritual items, pray for God's resurrection and the long-term stability of the land, and then walk into the shrine-shaped building that symbolizes a tomb.

The solar boat was also created for this purpose. The royal boat was carried out from the festival courtyard and reached the artificial lake that had been dug earlier.

The procession followed behind the solar boat, and the priests repeated the story of the god Ra driving the solar boat back and forth daily, bringing day and night.

There were not just one solar boat but two royal boats, representing the two solar boats that Ra rode during the day and night, namely Mandjet and Mesektet.

The artificial lake that served as the destination at that time was naturally a symbol of the Nile River.

When they arrived at the lake, people took the solar boat off their shoulders and put it into the lake.

The next boat should be rowed into the lake to complete the sacrifice to Osiris in front of only high-ranking priests and nobles.

Manshu held up the Death Pillar, which represented the spine of Osiris, and recited the story of Osiris' resurrection, praying for the resurrection of the god and the pharaoh.

After completing this process, the solar boat will be rowed back to the lake, and then the pharaoh will walk alone into the building symbolizing the cemetery.

All previous actions were preparations for this ceremony, whether it was the sacrifice to the god Osiris or the symbolic journey of the solar boat procession, both of which symbolized the cycle of life and death and would imply the rebirth of the pharaoh during the festival.⑧

In this building used as a cemetery, images of the Nine Columns and Horus are depicted, with a bed in the middle and lion heads and other animal images decorated on the sides.

The Pharaoh needed to lie down on his bed alone, complete his death, and then resurrect.

Place all the symbols of royal power and dress beside the bed, and then lie down on the bed.

From the beginning, the whole festival didn’t seem to have much mystery. Although it existed in this mysterious land, it didn’t seem to have much impact.

But when Manshu lay down on the bed, his breath disappeared very quickly, and his face gradually turned from a healthy red to a blue color, and began to change into a mummy-like appearance.

The process was extremely quick. It only took a minute for Mansu's appearance to completely transform into that of a dead person or a mummy.

But it was obvious that Manshu was not dead. His limbs began to tremble and spots of yellow lightning jumped on his body, as if bringing life.

"wake up!"

A shout sounded like thunder, and the lightning bouncing on Manshu's body instantly covered his entire body. His mummy-like body immediately became full and plump, and quickly turned into the appearance of a living person.

In less than half a minute, Mansu sat up from the stone bed and turned his head with surprise to look at the mural of the Ennead and Horus behind him.

During the more than one minute that he lay down with his eyes closed, Manzu was not aware of what was happening in the outside world, because in the dark world after he closed his eyes, the light outlined twelve shadowy human figures.

They made no sound, they just existed there.

Although they only appeared as shadow-like outlines, Manshu could clearly feel as if someone was looking at him, as if those shadows were sizing him up.

Manshu was not sure how long this lasted until a thunder sounded in the dark space and a wake-up call came from the twelve outlines in front of him. All the scenes disappeared in an instant, and Manshu opened his eyes to find himself sitting up in bed.

⒏Is that the Egyptian god here? Or is it that the gods that I called upon echoed the festival celebrations, forming a ritual or something like that to make their power manifest?

⑸Manshu could only have doubts in his heart but could not fully understand it. After all, it was just an outline that appeared when he closed his eyes, and it disappeared in a flash without even his breath being captured.

Qi Manshu tried to capture some possible residual breath here, but failed.

In the end, Xuan had no choice but to put on his dress again, pick up his staff and flail, and walk out of the room.

6 Today's activities ended here. Mansu changed out of his formal dress and put on the pharaoh's casual clothes the next day. At dawn, he erected the Djed Pillar inside the temple.

⑶ The meaning of Djed Pillar in hieroglyphics is durability and stability. The Pharaoh will erect this pillar after his rebirth to pray for his own longevity.

④The next step is for the Pharaoh to offer land to the gods, which is a symbol of the Pharaoh’s renewal of rule.

The pharaoh needed to run back and forth on the land that symbolized the territory of Egypt in order to renew his rule and ownership of the land.

Normally speaking, the distance the Pharaoh has to run is actually very short. After all, it is just a symbolic meaning. However, for the servants, it is not a big problem to really cross the territory of Egypt back and forth.

After all, this is not a truly complete Egypt. Although it is not small, it can probably only be regarded as a city-state.

Mansu first put on the red crown symbolizing the ruler of Lower Egypt, then crossed the border of Egypt twice with dance-like movements, then put on the white crown representing the ruler of Upper Egypt and repeated the action.

This process did not take too much time, and Mansu did not even move too fast in crowded places, but let them watch the Pharaoh measuring the land of Egypt.

After completing everything, Manjusri walked into another smaller palace and dedicated the land to the god Vipwit to ensure the continued prosperity of the country.

After this ceremony was finally completed, it was time to return to the city to complete the final public ceremony.

The Pharaoh will be re-crowned in the city and wear the crowns representing the royal power of Upper and Lower Egypt in turn. After wearing the double crowns on his heads, the whole city will cheer together, and the band and singers will play music together, bringing the festive atmosphere to its climax.

Next comes the ritual performance, which will combine the different customs of Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt respectively.

According to the customs of Lower Egypt, the pharaoh was carried by the great men of Upper and Lower Egypt, that is, the high priests, in a sedan chair similar to a box, and walked towards the temple of Horus.

Horus is the god representing Lower Egypt. The Pharaoh took over the scepter from Horus and gained power and wealth from Horus.

During this process, there would be people standing beside Pharaoh, constantly praising Pharaoh's authority in a round-robin style.

According to the customs of Upper Egypt, the pharaoh would ride in a basket-shaped sedan chair, carried by priests representing the gods Horus and Set, to the temples of Horus and Set.

The temple priests would hand the bow and arrow to the priests carrying the Pharaoh's sedan chair, and the priests would then hand the bow and arrow to the Pharaoh, asking him to shoot an arrow in each of the four directions.

During this process, every time the Pharaoh shot an arrow, the gods Horus and Set would hand the crown to the Pharaoh respectively.

However, although sOUSUo:2°<9∠〈㈣*…霏♀→㈣◆散五潞㈣ is an ordinary arrow, it can be shot to a considerable distance in Manshu's hand. If it is a little better, it should be able to cross the desert.

But if I really want to do that now, I'm afraid the bow in my hand will break first.

So Manshu simply changed his target to something in the desert, pulled the bowstring and shot.

The ordinary arrow immediately turned into a thunder arrow, flew out like thunder from the sky, and fell into the sandstorm outside the city.

Mansu shot four arrows in succession, and only in the last shot did he use a little strength to make the bow in his hand disappear.

"Pharaoh used the mighty power of the god Set to eliminate the enemies who were eyeing the land of Egypt. The knights who stepped into the desert perished under the might of Pharaoh's god!"

Mansu explained the destruction of the bow to his attendants, who immediately announced it loudly, causing the people nearby to shout excitedly.

And in this desert, there are scattered Zheng Zheng Knights acting alone or in small groups. They are ordered by the king to gather intelligence on the Sun King.

Although the two sides temporarily reached a peace of non-aggression on the surface, in fact the Lion King had been preparing to attack the Sun King.

The Knights of Justice have also been invading the desert area, but on a smaller scale, just gathering intelligence, so it would be easy to shirk responsibility if they were discovered.

These lightning arrows are tracking the Knights of Justice in the desert, and each arrow will melt the target Knights of Justice into molten iron.

The target of the last arrow, shot with full force, was at the edge of the desert, where the knight in purple armor was.

When the thunder came with the speed as fast as lightning, the brave knight noticed it first and drew out the holy sword shining like lake water from his sheath.

The sharp edge of the Indestructible Sword chopped directly on the lightning, causing the arrow to explode on the spot and leaving some charred marks on the knight's purple armor.

"Is this the Sun King's lightning? Or did he sense something?"

Although it was not difficult to resist, this scene made the knight frown. He had a mission for the king that had not yet been completed and could not be disturbed.

Meanwhile, Manshu, who had shot all his arrows, was carried back to the great temple in a sedan chair by the priests.

Then the Pharaoh's actions ended. In the original process, what remained was the Pharaoh's sacrifice to his ancestors, which had little to do with the rest of the people.

After returning to the Great Temple, Manshu had the priests take off his crown and clothes and store them in his own room, and then he went to see Osmandis himself.

"How about the festival I will give you? The eternal festival that a Pharaoh should enjoy."

Osmandis seemed to be in a pretty good mood. Such a festive celebration was still exciting.

Mansu was rarely polite and said a few meaningless words, then asked Osmandis about his own experience.

"Hahaha, you are indeed the Pharaoh loved by God. This is God's gift to Pharaoh. It is Pharaoh's rebirth under God's call.

In this case, it is not I who gave you this festival, but Amun-Ra who gave you the Pharaoh Set Festival, the eternal year, and the throne of Horus, so be happy! "

Osmandis said in congratulations, and Mansu, seeing that he could not get any practical information from his question, responded by saying some ordinary words and returned to the room.

Chapter 14 Return

The remaining few days of the festival were left for everyone to celebrate, but Mansu just wanted to stay on top of the great temple and look down.

After these few days of celebration, it was not so easy for Mansu to go out, because people had already memorized his face and knew his identity.
