"Come on, let's go find Dorothy and see what presents she has prepared for us."
Wop went to Sevitarion's room and Dorothy was there.
Chapter 14 Everyone Has a Chance
"Did you guys solve it?"
Dorothy asked nervously as she was waiting for them in the room.
Wop: "Most of them are dead. What are you hiding?"
"Nothing!" Dorothy was very nervous, and her voice rose unconsciously.
"You know I can find it," Wop said. "If you give it up voluntarily or I find it, the result will be completely different. You should understand this principle, right?"
Coz looked at her coldly, and his icy gaze frightened Dorothy, but she did not compromise.
Her eyes fell on the third person who entered the room. She remembered the boy who had joined the Blood Claw Gang not long ago, Kaz.
"He's not dead?" she blurted out.
"I gave him a chance and he took it, and Wop gave you a chance too," Coates said.
A struggle flashed in Dorothy's eyes, but she finally compromised.
She walked over to the throne and flipped a switch on it.
The walls of the room dropped away with a roar, revealing a secret chamber hidden within.
Inside the secret room was a group of shivering children. They were all young and not old enough to join the Blood Claw Gang.
But compared to Fili and the others, these children are much healthier because they don't have to worry about food.
"Are they Blood Claw kids?" Wop asked.
Dorothy whispered, "Only the children of the core members are here. Sevitarion gathered them together and asked me to teach them how to read."
These children are lucky, they have teachers to teach them to read and write, which is a benefit for the gang members.
These children are also protons, which Sevitarion uses to threaten other gang members.
"Where's their mother?" asked Wop.
Dorothy: "Dead. Getting pregnant in the bottom nest is very risky, and those who survive won't live long."
Coz asked, "What about their father?"
Dorothy didn't answer. Coz actually knew the answer. He said, "I forgot. I killed them all with my own hands."
He asked this on purpose, he wanted to see the kids' reactions.
Just as expected, he saw hatred and fear in the children's eyes, hatred being the most common.
They are too young to hide their hatred.
They had not witnessed Koze's killings with their own eyes, so they had no real fear.
"This won't do." Koz clenched the fragments tightly. He had to eliminate all the evil. Keeping them around would always be a nuisance.
Wop asked, "You hid them because you were afraid we would kill them? You really do like children."
Dorothy looked so bitter, what else could it be?
Wop: "Answer me another question. Where is the wizard?"
Dorothy looked at the group of children, and a boy stood up. His body was shaking with fear, but he still mustered up the courage to stand in front of the others.
"The person you're looking for is me, let Teacher Dorothy and the others go!"
"Let me guess," Wop said, studying his face. "He's Sevitarion's son, and a psyker. That's why you're worried I'll kill him."
Dorothy nodded silently.
Wop asked, "You concealed his identity as a psyker? Did you intend to deliver a fatal blow to me?"
Dorothy looked up in surprise and explained hastily.
"No, you saved Fili. I never wanted to kill you. I just wanted to protect them."
"Do you believe it?" Wop asked Coates.
Koz nodded, then shook his head.
He could only believe half of it.
Koz asked, "Should we let them go?"
Wop: "I said, the life and death of everyone here depends on you."
Coze looked at the children and saw many futures. Futures from different times and places flooded into his mind with the force of a collapsing building.
Koz closed his eyes in pain. He began to hate his talent.
Why would a father he never met give him this ability?
Wop was right, his father was a piece of shit.
Koz opened his eyes and did not smell any sin on these people.
But they are guilty, and their crime is sharing with their fathers their many sins.
"Only once." Coze said hoarsely, "You must let them let go of their hatred. I won't give them a second chance."
"I promise!" Dorothy nodded quickly.
Wop did not comment on Koz's choice, but he felt that it would be easy to make these people let go of their hatred. All they had to do was become Koz's son.
As long as I am Koz's son, what does the revenge for my father's murder mean?
As for the girls, there were not many of them, and their treatment here was obviously far worse than that of the boys, so the fear in their eyes was greater than hatred, because they hardly felt any fatherly love from their father.
Women in the Bottom Nest are consumable, and even their fathers treat them as mere tradable goods.
It's not difficult to get them to let go of their hatred.
Wop: "Go and bring Fili and the others here. This will be our home from now on."
"Aren't you going upstairs?" asked Dorothy.
Wop: "Now is not the time."
"Why?" This is what Coz asked.
"Because your foundation is unstable," Wop said, "You can't control the world by yourself. You need help."
"What about you?"
"I will help you, but the two of us are not enough. The population of the Hive World is at least tens of billions. If you want to govern this world and realize your ideals, you must have more people who share your ideals."
Coz smiled, that was enough.
He looked at those children, the children that Wop was talking about, and he saw hatred and fear in them, but also hope and new life.
The future overlaps with theirs and is constantly changing. He needs to be vigilant at all times and eliminate the bad apples among them, control the direction of the future, and ensure that the world will be reborn instead of falling into deeper darkness.
……
Fili felt like these past few days were like a dream.
A few days ago, she was chased into a garbage area and was nearly gang-raped.
She turned around and found herself in the Blood Claw Gang's camp, where she had her own small house.
The air here was filled with a strong smell of blood, but she didn't see any corpses, nor did she care about those people's lives. They deserved to die.
Fili had never been so happy. There was endless corpse starch to eat here, a safe house, and even the air here was sweeter than anywhere else.
She no longer has to worry about survival.
What makes her happiest is that she can attend classes.
"Ms. Wop." Fili greeted nervously.
Wop nodded at her and said, "Come in and sit down. Class will start soon."
Fili nodded happily and followed the others into the classroom.
Coates was sitting in the first row.
The area around him was empty, and no one else dared to sit next to him. Only Fili and Ben dared to get close to him.
Wop walked up to the podium and cleared his throat. "Today we will tell you a story about a dragon quest that has been circulating in ancient Terra."
"Legend has it that there was a brave warrior named Neos. One day, on a whim, he mounted his beloved warhorse, took up his spear, donned his golden armor, and went to fight a void dragon that was wreaking havoc on mankind."
Chapter 15: A mere revenge for the murder of my father
"Once the foundation is rotten, the wall will not last long."
“The difference between success and failure lies in the ability to adapt.”
“If you don’t have a purpose, don’t do anything.”
“Society needs norms.”
"Power must be maintained at all costs."
“The law needs to be upheld in order to protect the people.”
Wop cleared his throat. "Recite the entire table of contents above. get out of class dismissed."
"Goodbye, teacher!" Everyone stood up and bowed.
Fili mustered up the courage to try and follow Wop, but Coz had already caught up, and they seemed to always be inseparable.
Fili stopped and didn't follow.
“Will they understand?”
Worp looked at Curze, who had been a little boy not long ago, but now had grown to be as tall as Worp.
"Whether they can understand or not depends on whether you can understand or not," Wop said. "You are their leader. Without your leading role, they won't take my words seriously."
"why me?"
"Because you are the Primarch."
Coz asked, "Is this my inherent responsibility?"
Wop shook his head. "With great power comes great responsibility. That's complete bullshit. I believe that with great power comes great authority. And with great power comes great responsibility. Power and responsibility are equal. If you have the ability but don't exercise your power, then you have no responsibility."
"If I choose to use my power, I need to bear the corresponding responsibilities?"
Wop still shook his head. "When you exercise power, you incur corresponding responsibilities. But you can choose not to shoulder them, allowing them to fall on others. Just like the rulers of this hive city, they have enjoyed the comfortable life brought by power for generations, but have they shouldered their responsibilities? No, they haven't. There is no such thing as an innate responsibility. Whether or not you choose to shoulder it is entirely up to you."
"That's not what you taught me."
"I'm not teaching you to be irresponsible. I'm just telling you the facts, because you'll understand these principles sooner or later. What matters is what kind of person you want to be."
"Why don't you just tell me what to do? You know I'll listen to you."
"Just because you listen to me now doesn't mean you will always listen to me. You are the Primarch, and I am only a mortal. One day, my life will come to an end. And you, will be crowned King."
"You won't die!" Koz said excitedly.
"That's not the point," Wop said. "You'll listen to me today because you trust me. But if one day you no longer trust me, you might completely overturn everything I taught you and stubbornly believe that everything I said was wrong. So I have to tell you clearly both the pros and cons and let you make your own choice."
"That day won't come, I promise!"
"Koz, you are very smart and you know much more than I do. So you should understand that your talent is both a gift from fate and a curse from fate."
One thing Wop had learned from the beginning was to never try to deceive the Primarchs, because they would always know the truth.
The Emperor was not a qualified father. Even Horus, who had been his father for thirty years, did not understand the Emperor at all.
He always has countless grand plans, but he always hides them from everyone.
The Primarch was the key to his plan, but he wanted to hide it from even the Primarch.
Wope is not qualified to judge the Emperor's right and wrong and his achievements, but he does not want to be like the Emperor.
Koz stopped where he was and fell silent.
"Go to class." Wop patted his shoulder and said.
