Stardew Valley of Gensokyo

Author: Pipi Shen

Brief description: "50 jin of fruit ordered by Baiyulou"

"10 bottles of wine ordered by Scarlet Devil Mansion"

As for the 1 kilogram of rice ordered by Hakurei Shrine, Akina Ze also showed disdain.

……

"so tired!"

As the king of farming in Gensokyo, Akina Ze also said that he can no longer remember how he went from being a farmer to what he is now.

Maybe it’s because of Lady Youyouzi’s constant urging?

Volume One: The Beginning of Spring

Chapter 1: First Steps into Gensokyo

Where did I come from? What place is this?

On the misty lakeside, Akina Sawa also looked around in bewilderment, surrounded by greenery.

The only thing certain was that this was no longer a city; Akina Ze clearly remembered living in a steel city. Yet, in the blink of an eye, he found himself in this unfamiliar place.

But Akina Sawa never liked city life, and now that he's in this place, no matter how much he doesn't want to accept reality, he has no choice but to accept it.

So what should we do next?

After observing for a while, Akina Sawa also discovered a winding path not far away leading to an unknown location.

Let's just follow the path for now.

Akina Sawa also felt that the path might lead to a human settlement, which would be better than staying here. Based on the information they had, staying by the lake meant certain death, except for starvation...

The winding path was longer than expected. Even as the sun rose high in the sky, Akina Sawa was still walking on this path, and all he could see were trees.

Keep pushing yourself!

Akina Sawa slapped his cheek hard, shattering the pleasant afternoon.

"Human, why are you contradicting yourself?"

"I was just touching my face," Akina Sawa instinctively explained.

But soon, Akina Sawa also realized something was wrong. Who was talking to me?

He turned around and saw a little blue-haired girl standing behind him, exuding a cool aura.

His pupils dilated slightly because he saw a pair of wings, a pair of wings made of ice crystals, floating behind the little girl in a way that defied the laws of nature.

Akina Ze was only slightly surprised for a moment before she relaxed. After all, it's normal to encounter strange creatures when you've traveled through time, right? Besides, it's just a cute little girl, what's so scary about that?

Very well, it's time to unleash the ultimate move. Akina Ze's gloomy face suddenly changed its style.

A warm, smiling face appeared, and Akina Sawa reached out to stroke the little girl's head. Perhaps because of the smiling face, the little girl did not slap his hand away, but instead showed an expression similar to that of a small animal being petted.

"Where are you from? Where are your family?"

Akina Sawa also bent down and kindly asked the little girl in front of him.

The little girl seemed to be startled awake, slapping the hand off her head. Akina Ze also regretfully withdrew his hand.

"Hmph, how dare these maggot-like humans speak to our strongest, Cirno?"

Cirno stood with her hands on her hips, looking down at the human who was bending over in front of her.

"However, since you have asked so sincerely, I, Cirno, as the strongest in Gensokyo, will generously answer you."

Perhaps feeling that her words weren't powerful enough, Cirno flew up into the sky, to a place even higher than Akina Sawa.

"Hmph. Listen up, human. Before you now stands Cirno, the strongest being of Gensokyo!" Cirno casually tossed a frozen frog in front of Akina Zeya, striking an arrogant pose. "Human, do you understand?"

"Uh," Akina Ze scratched his head, thinking to himself that wasn't what he was asking about, and then looked up at Cirno.

"Forget it, this little girl isn't human, you won't get anything out of her by asking her, I'll just keep going." Akina Ze ignored Cirno, brushed the dust off his hands, and left.

Cirno remained standing there, looking smug as if she were waiting for something, completely unaware that the human in front of her had already left...

As the sun set, seeing the village gate before him, Akina Ze almost burst into tears. Finally, they had arrived! Why was this road so long?

Limping, Akina Sawa dragged his exhausted legs, trying to get closer to the village.

Suddenly, a fair and delicate hand stopped him.

"Outsider, you must register with me if you want to enter the village," a clear and pleasant voice rang out.

Akina Ze also looked up and saw a white-haired woman standing in front of him; it was she who had stopped him.

Being unfamiliar with the area, Akina Sawa cautiously asked, "Who are you? What do I need to register?"

"Well, why are these outsiders so troublesome?"

The white-haired woman scratched the back of her head in frustration.

"Listen carefully, there are some things I won't repeat myself. My name is Fujiwara no Mokou, you can call me Captain Fujiwara. Let's just say I'm someone who protects the human village. As for registration, it's like what you outsiders call registering a household, you understand?"

Akina Sawa nodded, seemingly understanding, as if to say that the cultural level here was quite good and that there were outsiders like him.

Surprisingly, although Akina Sawa knew beforehand that the registration was similar to registering a household, he didn't expect it to be so simple, or rather, rudimentary. Captain Fujiwara only asked for his name before letting him pass and even gave him an address, saying it was left by the previous outsider.

But is it really a good thing that they've let him in and given him a house? Even though Akina Sawa hasn't lived here yet, he's already worried about the village's future safety.

As for Fujiwara no Mokou's words before leaving, telling her not to leave the human village because it was dangerous outside, Akina Sawa didn't really care. Just thinking about the cute child she had met that afternoon, she couldn't help but smile. If all yokai were like this, what was there to be afraid of?

……

The village of the human world is not very large, at least not at present.

Akina Zeya, who thought it would take a long time to walk, quickly arrived at the address, a dilapidated wooden house in a remote place. If it weren't for the note clearly stating that this was the place, Akina Zeya would have thought he had already left the human village.

Large swaths of weeds completely covered the dilapidated house outside the door.

With no other option, Akina Ze could only wade through the tall grass, praying that no snakes were hiding in the undergrowth. He was terrified of snakes; they lurked in dark corners, ready to pounce and bite at any moment, and just thinking about it sent chills down his spine.

Under the dual pressure of darkness and psychological stress, Akina Sawa finally arrived at the cabin.

The wooden house in front of me was pitch black inside, with a broken window that swayed gently in the breeze, making creaking noises from time to time.

Is this my home from now on? Akina Sawa had prepared himself mentally and gently pushed open the tightly closed door.

Ok?

The scene inside the house was somewhat unexpected for Akina Sawa, who had prepared himself mentally. The spider webs and thick layer of dust that he had imagined were not there.

Instead, there was a large CRT television of indeterminate age, a stone fireplace, a table and a matching chair, and a wooden bed in the side room.

"Is it a surprise?"

A voice suddenly came from outside the door. Akina Ze turned around abruptly and, after seeing who it was, exclaimed, "What? It's Captain Fujiwara! You scared me to death!" Akina Ze patted his chest.

Ignoring Akina Sawaya's reaction, Fujiwara no Mokou continued, "There used to be an outsider who was deeply loved by the villagers living here."

"So you're saying you set this up?"

Upon hearing this, Fujiwara no Mokou glanced at the man in front of her with surprise.

"I haven't even told you yet, how could you have guessed? Never mind."

Fujiwara no Mokou didn't want to delve deeper and continued speaking.

"There are no useless people in the human village," Akina Sawa seemed to ponder.

"You've seen those empty lots outside, haven't you?"

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"Actually, there's a farm outside, which has been in disrepair for years, and the original owner died here in a monster attack."

"so"

"so?"

Fujiwara no Mokou gave Akina Sawaya a deep look.

"So I hope you can inherit this farm, do you understand?"

"Haha, I knew there's no such thing as a free lunch."

Akina Sawa also burst into laughter.

"Let those monsters come; I've never been afraid. As for this farm, I would have chosen to grow something here even if you hadn't mentioned it. When the crops are ready, Captain Fujiwara, would you like to come and take some?"

"Ha, you're quite an interesting person."

Perhaps moved by Akina Sawa's open-minded attitude, Fujiwara no Mokou stopped having a stern face and relaxed, a smile appearing on her already pretty face.

"In that case, I'm really looking forward to the taste of what you grow!"

Fujiwara no Mokou reached out and handed a note to Akina Sawaya.

Uh, another note? Akina Ze's eyebrows twitched.

"what is this?"

"This list shows the people you can visit and their addresses. Just go and you're done. I'm leaving now," Fujiwara no Mokou waved and turned to leave.

"Um, is this someone I can visit?" Akina Sawa glanced at the name on the note.

Oh, things are getting interesting. Akina Sawa casually extinguished the oil lamp that Fujiwara had lit, and the whole room went dark.

After all, there's not much oil left...

Everything returns to peace.
