Is there something wrong with this guy's thought process?

He didn't have to attend classes today because of the special exam results, but he was bored and didn't want to stay in the classroom, so he came to sit by the roadside and enjoy the breeze.

Unexpectedly, not long after I sat down, Horikita Suzune, who seemed absent-minded and dazed, sat down next to me.

He gave her an ice pop because the smell emanating from her was unpleasant; although it was only an E-level reward, it still had a calming effect.

Who would have thought that after eating his popsicle, this idiot would start dumping his emotional baggage on him?

Unbearable.

I want to have it printed using movable type.

Asakusa Tetsu pulled out his infinite recorder and found the recording he made when he was near Horikita Academy.

As mentioned before, the infinite recorder will preserve all the sounds around him, and he can freely cut any time period.

Even if the edited audio contains only one word.

In other words, as long as the other party has said something similar to him, he can openly and legitimately embellish it.

This is different from the combination kit that relies on collecting sound, modeling, voice-changing, imitation, and then transmitting the sound secretly.

That's something that can't be exposed casually; you can only do it secretly and covertly.

But this one is different.

The sense of splicing that anyone can hear is what he wants.

Just like the parodies on Bilibili, if the audio is tuned to sound too realistic, it just doesn't feel right.

That's the feeling I'm looking for—being able to recognize whose voice it is, but also knowing with certainty that it's definitely not what they said.

It lies somewhere between fabricated and true rumors, making it an excellent weapon for attack.

"You, three, avoid,?"

"You, learn, be, with, a, person?"

"Do you choose to avoid it?"

Mechanical, rigid, and discontinuous, movable type printing extracted only a few similar words.

Asakusa Toru and Horikita Manabu didn't have much contact, only a few days during club information sessions, and the usable conversations recorded were just a handful.

But even these few sentences are enough.

Horikita couldn't learn to swear, so he couldn't directly select the words he wanted.

However, if it is only a similar pitch, he can still achieve the desired effect by simply adjusting the pitch.

Thus, movable type printing was born.

Are you stupid?

Through the recording pen held by Toru Asakusa, Manabu Horikita's stiff voice repeated these words.

"..." Horikita Suzune was dumbfounded.

She was still holding a stick with a bit of saliva in her hand, completely stunned on the bench.

What did she hear?

Me, him, my brother...

I was scolded.

He called me an idiot.

Then he took out a voice recorder and played his brother's voice.

My brother also... called me an idiot.

No, no, no, that's not right. That's a recording, and although you can tell it's my brother's voice, it's completely wrong. My brother would never talk like that.

So vulgar, so contemptible, and so vague.

...It's completely something forcibly pieced together by cutting and splicing together audio recordings.

Even so, for some reason, Horikita Suzune's mind suddenly conjured up this idea.

Advanced breeding has caused many harms; my brother called me a complete idiot.

In the past, he would only call me a useless guy.

Testimonials

First, offer a reward.

1000 recommendation votes, 100 monthly votes, 100 blades, and 10000 tips correspond to 2000 words per update, with a maximum of 30 chapters. I'm giving you the chance to whip me for a month, with a two-day deadline. I will calculate the settlement based on the data from the backend over these two days.

I actually wanted to go for unlimited rewards, but after thinking about it, I chickened out. Although I felt that I might not even be able to get the maximum reward, I was still not sure if there was really no limit.

If I get cocky and think I'm good enough next month, I'll open another bounty.

The daily minimum is 4k words, and anything above that counts as a bounty. Then, 5 chapters will be released tomorrow, which are not included in the bounty. It would be unreasonable for the release to not be a hit.

Next up is Hani's Diary.

White Haniva's Fall Diary:

On April 25th, I launched my new book, but the reviews were mediocre. I sighed, hoping it wasn't just a one-off attempt. I keep trying and failing, and I want to advance this time.

On May 2nd, we went for a trial run, and I was very nervous.

On May 9th, we advanced to the next round after a trial run. There were so many people, it was so lively!

On May 12th, it made it onto the click list for the first time.

On May 16th, I advanced, and then I got scolded.

May 19th, it's okay, I'm super good at handling stress, sob sob.

May 22nd, available tomorrow!

......

In short, this is my post-launch reflection, because I'm writing this to mark the occasion.

In the past, I would talk a lot when I put something on the shelves, but now I'll probably just chat casually as usual. If you're interested, you can take a look.

I'm a total failure. I've written so many books that I haven't been able to advance in any rounds. I usually get eliminated in the first round. My old problem is that I need to pile up content in the early stages to develop the plot, otherwise it's hard to get into the zone.

So after reflecting on it a few times, I'm going to try a fast-paced writing style from the start.

The results were surprisingly good.

However, a faster pace naturally brings more problems. The biggest problem is that the 4-word daily update during the new book period is difficult to meet the needs of the fast-paced plot. Any attempt to transition between fast-paced plots will feel tedious. But with a faster pace and more changes, the inevitable result is a longer length, which in turn makes the pace seem slower.

The simplest way to solve this problem is to update frequently.

So I tried to add a little bit where I could, but adding more would mean one less round of recommendations. It's rare to get all the recommendations, so I really wanted to do it this time.

However, I still need to reflect on this. Next time, I might try to reduce the exposure time by one round and hold the 6K for a longer period. That might be better.

I don't write very fast, but fortunately I have a lot of time, so I can still write as much as I can. Setting up a bounty is a way to put some pressure on myself.

There is a guarantee that the work will be completed. I don't think I'm bad in terms of character, and I have completed a total of two million words of works on the site. I rarely talk about things without any guarantee. I'm a conservative person in this regard.

So no matter what, please support the first subscription, thank you meow.

I was going to say something more, but I thought I'd better just leave it at that and get down to business!

Chapter 60 Self-Awareness

...Okay, that's not exactly a nice thing to say either.

But no matter what, this guy is really going too far.

The sound of movable type printing was still playing in her ears as Horikita Suzune gradually came back to her senses.

I don't care how my brother evaluates me, but I can't let him use this fabricated recording to smear my brother's image!

Thinking of this, she gritted her teeth, leaned forward, supported herself with her left hand, and suddenly grabbed the recording pen with her right hand.

"—"

He reacted.

Asakusa Tetsu raised the recorder high in his hand, and Horikita Suzune's hand missed its target. In her haste, she even lost her balance with her left hand, which was supporting her body. Her upper body lost its balance and fell down along with her right hand, which was chasing upwards. Her head hit the chair hard.

"Waaah—" the girl let out a mournful cry.

"..." Looking at the disheveled Horikita Suzune, Asakusa Tetsu showed an incredulous expression: "Are you an idiot?"

He repeated the question once again.

He was starting to find it a bit unbelievable.

I hadn't seen her operate it in person before; I mostly just listened to recordings transcribed by a voice recorder, either through text animations or other people's retellings.

Being a little silly and innocent is something you can laugh off.

But now he should start to be curious.

"I treated you to an ice pop, why did you try to steal my voice recorder?" Asakusa Tetsu was a little puzzled: "You can't even enjoy the ice pop properly, and you not only stole my voice recorder, but you also bumped your head on it."

"No wonder your brother thinks you're useless."

"If you're not a sister, are you still a child?"

"Only children are cute when they do stupid things; once people grow up, they should feel ashamed when they do stupid things."

Of course, a kid's stupidity can raise blood pressure, but there's no need to talk about that now.

Gently turning off the repeating motion-type printing, Asakusa Tetsu casually put away the recorder, frowning as he looked at Horikita Suzune, who was holding her head and seemed to have tears welling up in her eyes.

An indescribable sense of weakness emanated from her.

I'm annoyed. This guy is really annoying right now.

Ultimately, why cover your head when you've bumped your chin? Is it to hide your face?

"...So annoying." Muttering under his breath, Asakusa Tetsu pulled another popsicle from his pocket.

【Name: Tranquilizing Popsicle】

Category: Consumables

[Effect: A highly satisfying promotional pack of 40 sweet popsicles, a top choice for calming the nerves, with no added medicinal ingredients]

[Note: "Would you like one?"]

With a limited number of popsicles in his limited pockets, coupled with the barely useful E-level item 'Insulated Pocket', he could only stuff three or five popsicles into his pockets at any time.

He casually tore open the packaging, crumpled the bag into a ball, stuffed it back into his pocket, grabbed Horikita Suzune's chin with one hand, pried open her mouth, and then shoved the icy popsicle into her mouth with extreme roughness.

"Ugh—" The feeling of the foreign object going straight down her throat caused Horikita Suzune's body to instinctively produce a vomiting reaction, but she didn't vomit anything and could only let Asakusa Tetsu push the stick-like object into her throat.

"Huh?!" The girl looked up with teary eyes, and Horikita Suzune glared at Asakusa Tetsu.

Come again? !

However... although the action was quite violent, incredibly, as the popsicle began to melt in my mouth, my emotions calmed down.

"Eat well, and then shut your mouth." Asakusa Toru commanded, releasing his grip on Horikita Suzune's hands.

So, being incredibly obedient, Horikita Suzune held onto the stick of the popsicle in her mouth and didn't do anything unnecessary.

"I don't want to be a psychologist, nor do I intend to be anyone's emotional dumping ground." Taking out a pack of tissues, he slowly wiped away the water that had condensed from an ice pop, Horikita Suzune's tears, or perhaps her saliva from his hands. Asakusa Toru shook his head: "But I'll make an exception for today."

"Consider it after-sales service for the previous voice recorder."

"Come here, look into my eyes." Asakusa Tetsu cupped Horikita Suzune's cheeks in his hands, guiding her gaze: "Look in my eyes!"
