Snape, the Sunshine of Hogwarts

Mr. and Mrs. Granger are very good people.
They were all very enthusiastic when they saw that their daughter had brought a boy home, and even prepared afternoon tea for Harry.
Hermione led Harry to her own room.
Since this was an apartment they rented for a family vacation, the room wasn't very decorated. Instead, it was filled with various books that Hermione had brought from home, as well as a telescope placed by the window.
Harry went to the telescope, from which he could clearly see the direction of the streetlight. It was obviously from here that Hermione noticed the unusual streetlight.
"I guess that strange gentleman next door, old Foster, is just like you."
Hermione said, taking the checkers from the cabinet.
Harry had been amazed by the girl's intelligence more than once. Now he was somewhat numb. He just looked through the binoculars at Arthur's location and found that even though it was broad daylight, he couldn't make out the figure crouching in front of the street lamp. Only then did he leave, relieved.
“Maybe,” Harry said casually, "I’ve only been with the teacher for a few days, so I don’t know much about things.”
He sat on the carpet, right opposite Hermione, and the two of them played checkers.
"Did you come here specifically for that streetlight?" Hermione pressed.
Harry, however, felt he should take the initiative, after all, he was now Severus Snape's student.
“Why do you keep asking me? Can’t we talk about you?” Harry looked at Hermione. “You seem to know everything.”
Hermione stood up straight with pride.
"Read more books! My father taught me that all problems stem from not reading enough!"
Harry thought that made a lot of sense, and he nodded.
"My teacher said something similar to me."
"Why do you keep talking about teachers? Where are your parents?"
“They died when I was very young,” Harry said calmly. “I lived with my aunt and uncle from a young age until my teacher brought me out.”
"Oh!" Hermione exclaimed, "I'm so sorry!"
"It's okay, there's nothing to apologize for."
They were still children after all. Although Hermione was a bit smarter and Harry knew a bit more, the two quickly started chatting.
Their entertainment wasn't limited to checkers; Hermione started telling Harry about the books she had read, and Harry could only nod earnestly.
Soon, his attention was drawn to a plush toy placed on Hermione's bedside table.
"what is that?"
Hearing Harry's voice, Hermione turned her head and looked at the doll, then picked it up casually.
"I don't know either, maybe it's a platypus? Someone asked my dad to help them get their child medical treatment the day before yesterday, and then asked him to give it to me on their behalf."
"Treating the child? Isn't your father a dentist?" Harry learned about the Grangers' profession during their conversation.
"Yes, that person seemed to be desperate and grasping at straws. He said his child was very sick and needed to see a doctor. No matter what kind of doctor it was, Dad rushed over with him."
Hermione spoke while kneading the puppet.
"But when we got back, my mother and I asked him how the child was doing, and he stammered and couldn't say anything. He just gave me this platypus-like doll and said it was a gift from that person."
As she spoke, she suddenly pinched something hard in the area of the platypus-like beak, which startled her.
"Is there something in there?"
Harry looked at the doll and felt it looked strangely familiar!
This was clearly not an ordinary animal. He seemed to have seen this kind of creature in a picture book that Volp carried with him when they were on the run.
It's a magical animal, I think it's called...
Call it "Sniff!"
Just as Harry was thinking of the doll's name, Hermione had already unzipped the back of it and seen the round, hard object hidden inside—a crystal-clear glass ball!
"Why is this thing here?" Hermione asked curiously, then reached out her hand towards the glass ball.
At that moment, Harry felt a strange sense of unease rising within him!
How could a normal, ordinary person give away a magical creature plush toy?
"Don't!"
He instinctively reached out to stop her from touching the things inside the doll.
However, Hermione's hand bumped into Harry's outstretched hand, and almost at the same time, the two of them touched the glass ball inside the puppet!
The next moment, they vanished from the spot!
Only the Niffler plush toy with its back pulled open was left, falling onto the carpet.
Chapter 71 The Lost Child
“I think I should come to you, Dumbledore.”
An uninvited guest arrived at Hogwarts in the evening.
After Filch led the elderly wizard in a dark green cloak and gold-rimmed glasses into the headmaster's office, Dumbledore put down his quill and rubbed his temples.
"Ah, it's been a long time, Lyle."
The wizard appeared calm and decisive. He sat down directly opposite Dumbledore and spoke in a deep voice.
"You know why I came here."
“He hasn’t come back since his mother passed away. I understand he doesn’t want to bother me, but we also made a promise that he would write me a letter every week, and he has never missed this tradition over the years!”
"Dumbledore said calmly."
"He went to do some work for the Ministry of Magic, but ran into some trouble."
The wizard named Lyle just stared at him.
"In his last letter to me, he said that he was surrounded by many people like him!"
“Yes.” Dumbledore neither denied it nor avoided the wizard’s gaze. “They are a pack of werewolves.”
"The Ministry of Magic sent him infiltrated?"
"Yes."
"So now he's out of contact?"
"That's it."
A brief silence fell over the principal's office. The portraits on the walls held their breath, and everyone sensed the impending accusation.
"Are you going to make a move?"
After a long pause, the wizard asked softly.
Dumbledore nodded, and he spoke seriously.
“Severus Snape, the Ministry of Magic has arranged for him to go there.”
"That prodigal son who turned over a new leaf?" The wizard was clearly familiar with this person from the recent news, but he quickly frowned. "Does this person have a grudge against him?"
“Things are different now.” Dumbledore offered his hand. “He will handle this.”
"Where is he now?" the wizard persisted.
Dumbledore stared at him for a while, then finally pulled out a piece of parchment, wrote a message on it with a quill, folded it up, and pushed it in front of the wizard.
“I understand how you feel, Lyle. If you insist on going, then take this letter to him.”
The wizard took a deep breath, picked up the parchment from his desk, and before turning to leave, he suddenly stopped and said something.
"No matter what, I am very grateful to you, Dumbledore. Back then, you were the only one who was willing to accept him!"
After saying that, he left the principal's office without lingering.
After he left, the afterglow of the sunset shone through the windowpane onto the office, and as time passed, it gradually moved onto the old man's white beard.
Dumbledore placed his hands in front of him and fell into deep thought.
As Arthur boasted, his research and practical skills in Muggle technology far surpassed those of other wizards.
Before it got completely dark, he had completely destroyed the street lamp, turning it back into an ordinary lighting tool.
“My work is done, and it’s getting late. Molly and the children are waiting for me to come home for dinner.” Arthur packed up the wrench and other things, said goodbye to Severus, and said, “You must bring Dudley to the Burrow sometime. George Fred likes you very much, Charlie is also very curious to see what you look like after the change, and Molly is a big fan of that vampire story.”
Severus waved to him as well.
"I will definitely go if I have the chance."
The next second, Arthur used Apparition to disappear from the spot.
After watching him leave, Severus glanced at his watch, wondering why Harry hadn't returned yet. He then started walking towards the Granger family apartment building next door.
As soon as he approached the apartment door, he heard a woman crying inside.
Severus frowned slightly and rang the doorbell.
Soon, a man with a panicked expression and a pale face pushed open the door. Upon seeing who it was, he clearly showed disappointment.
Behind him, a woman sat in a chair, sobbing, which made Severus sense something was wrong.
"I am Dudley Dursley's tutor. Is he at your house?"
"It is clearly Hermione's father, Mr. Granger," he replied in a trembling voice.
"They've vanished! We can't find them anywhere!"
Severus frowned, a bad feeling rising in his heart, and immediately went inside.
Where were they before?
"It was in my daughter's room, and to get out, you had to go through the living room! But my wife and I spent the whole afternoon watching TV in the living room, and we didn't see anyone come down!"
Severus didn't linger; he quickly walked up the stairs to the second floor where the door was open, clearly the little girl's bedroom.
A checkers board was placed on the carpet, the windows were tightly closed, and everything around was tidy, with no signs of fighting or struggle.
Only the rag doll that had fallen onto the carpet, its back zipper pulled open.
At this point, the Grangers also caught up. Compared to Mrs. Granger, Hermione's father was still able to remain calm even in the face of this situation.
"We've already called the police, and they're on their way! Do you know anything about them? Where can they go?"
Severus simply picked up the Niffler doll from the ground, and upon seeing this, he understood that Harry and Hermione were involved in matters related to wizards!
He held the doll, turned to Mr. Granger, and asked in a deep voice.
"Where did this thing come from?"
Mr. Granger's eyes showed a moment of confusion; something seemed off about him. Upon hearing the question, he answered instinctively.
"He was a father who gave this to my daughter as a token of his gratitude for treating his child."
Seeing his condition, Severus realized that Mr. Granger's memories had been altered using a forgetting spell!
Without hesitation, he pulled his wand from his sleeve, and then, under Mrs. Granger's anxious gaze, waved the wand at Mr. Granger's forehead, using the Oblivion Charm to break the spell.
The wizard who cast the Oblivion Curse was clearly unskilled; Severus could break the spell of this level with ease.
Soon, Mr. Granger's eyes cleared from their initial confusion, and he began to breathe rapidly.
"In the forest! Right in Sherwood Forest! The man led me to a dilapidated shack inside! There was a child lying there with a high fever! They forced me to prescribe medicine for the child! Then they gave me this doll and told me to remember it was for my daughter!"
"But why did I forget everything before?! Why did I forget all of this? I only remember giving this to Hermione?"
He suddenly stared intently at the wand in Severus's hand; clearly, having regained his memories, he was quite familiar with it.
"You are the same kind of people!"
As he said this, Mr. Granger had already spread his arms wide, his face grim as he shielded his wife behind him!
At the same time, a greasy-haired ghost within Severus's body also roared.
"This is the second time! This is the second time!! It's lost for the second time!!!"
We're getting ready to make a final push for the Three Rivers Project, everyone stay focused and keep reading!
Once it's on Sanjiang, it's available for purchase, and once it's available, I update it like crazy. I no longer update twice a day. I can't stand it myself. I have an endless desire to express myself that I'm suppressing.
