"That will take many more years. I am determined to win the battle for Xueji this time! Senior Brother Chisongzi, be careful."

"Xiaoyaozi spoke up. Chisongzi has won three times in a row; his strength is already close to the legendary unity of heaven and man!"

Although he is nearly seventy years old, he is still unfathomable!

"Junior brother, you still can't break free from Xueji's restrictions. Why should a seeker of the Dao be so obsessed with victory and defeat?"

The philosophy of the Heavenly Sect, to which Chisongzi belongs, is that all things are natural and the Great Dao is ruthless. This ruthlessness is not the absence of emotion, but rather the open-mindedness that comes from having seen too much and experienced too many things.

Unable to change anything, one can only watch quietly, helpless. Over time, the heart no longer stirs.

“Senior brother, whether one is persistent or not does not depend on actions, but on the heart. If the heart is not limited, even if I fight for it, it will not hinder my pursuit of the Dao.”

Xiaoyaozi retorted, "Where are you going, Senior Brother?"

"Just take a walk."

"You're going to find someone, right? He's in the valley ahead. You can go and discuss the Dao with him anytime. But I must remind you, senior brother, that this person's realm is unfathomable!"

Chapter 85 Zhuangzi: Yes, what I said is true, the Dao is dog shit!

After talking for a while, Chisongzi and Xiaoyaozi left with Xiaomeng, their destination being Guigu.

They were discovered by Qin Qi and his group as soon as they entered Ghost Valley.

"One leaves and another arrives; why are they coming in a group to wish us a Happy New Year?"

Qin Qi looked at Chi Songzi who was walking over, then reached out and pasted the couplet on the door before smiling.

"It seems you want to celebrate the New Year, but the year goes by, and the festivals continue. Whether you are happy or sad, nothing will change in the end."

"What's so special about this holiday that's worth celebrating?"

Chisongzi did not speak, but his voice reached Qin Qi's ears; this was the Taoist technique of transmitting celestial sounds.

“We’re face to face, and we’re not talking about anything that can be said in public. Why do you need to use telepathy? Just say it directly.”

Qin Qi looked at Chi Songzi, shook his head at the man's full head of white hair, and thought, "These old men just love to pretend to be reclusive masters."

Even when the two are face to face, they still insist on using that secret telepathic communication technique.

"You haven't answered my question yet."

Chishongzi showed no embarrassment and continued to press for answers.

Throughout the conversation, Chisongzi kept scrutinizing Qin Qi, but he couldn't see any trace of a cultivator in him.

On the contrary, Qin Qi was full of worldly airs, writing couplets, hanging lanterns, and pasting the character "福" (fortune) – things that only ordinary people would do.

Those who cultivate the Tao should eliminate all these impurities and return to the most essential state of the universe.

"Old man, there may not be anything to celebrate about the holiday, but people have been busy all year."

"We always need to find some reasons to relax and some reasons to get together."

"These festivals did not exist at the beginning; they were created by people and have no meaning in themselves."

"It was people who gave it meaning."

What is the significance of the couplet in Qin Qi's hand, the "double happiness" character on the window, and the lanterns hanging on the house?

No, the important thing is that the couplets were written by Qin Qi himself, the lanterns were made by Xue Nu bit by bit, and the character for "happiness" was painstakingly carved out by Jing Ni with her sword.

The important thing is that they put aside their other worries and came together to celebrate with joy; that is the true essence of the festival.

"Whether it is joy or sorrow, if a person cannot transcend the seven emotions and six desires, how can he truly attain enlightenment?"

"You presumptuously claim to challenge all the schools of thought of the Hundred Schools of Thought. What do you seek? Fame? Profit? Or some so-called sense of accomplishment?"

"If you cannot transcend these feelings, then no matter how many people you defeat, no matter how strong you become, you will not attain enlightenment."

Chisongzi immediately showed his sharp edge upon arrival, without any intention of being polite to Qin Qi, and went straight to the point!

"Don't rush, sit inside, Jingni will pour you some tea."

After Qin Qi finished pasting the couplets, he called Chisongzi and Xiaomeng into the house, where they stayed in the same spot.

Everyone sat down at the table again, and Jingni came out with three cups and a teapot.

"Little sister, would you like some snacks?"

The Snow Maiden took out some candied fruits and pastries they had bought, placed them in front of Xiaomeng, and asked her questions.

"No need. You don't need to treat me like a child. I am also a cultivator."

Xiaomeng didn't take the candied fruit; she just gripped the wooden sword tightly in her hand, behaving completely unlike an eight-year-old child.

"Whether it's a teapot or a teacup, they are merely tangible objects. If you are fixated on them, how can you attain enlightenment?"

Looking at the empty space in front of him, Chisongzi felt that this was Qin Qi's counterattack against him, and that every word and action was a manifestation of the Dao.

He reached out and picked up the teapot, then poured it into the air, the tea seemingly falling into an invisible cup.

After Chisongzi finished doing all this, he looked up at Qin Qi and thought, "Wasn't his Void Transformation Cup move pretty good?"

"Go get him a cup."

Qin Qi looked at Chi Songzi, then spoke to Jing Ni. Jing Ni nodded, then took out a cup and placed it in front of Chi Songzi.

"Next time you want tea, just say so. Although we're quite poor here, we still have cups."

Qin Qi said that he had no intention of testing Chisongzi; he simply wanted to drink tea.

"Hmm... The important thing is not the tea, but breaking free from constraints and not being limited by tangible things."

Chisongzi looked at Qin Qi, unable to tell whether the other was pretending to be stupid or whether he had really made a mistake.

"Breaking free from constraints... What are constraints?"

Qin Qi asked in return.

"The seven emotions and six desires, everything in this world—only by transcending everything in this world can one merge into the Great Dao!"

Chisongzi spoke without hesitation. The Taoist Heavenly Sect's philosophy is completely different from the Human Sect's. The Human Sect believes that all living beings are equal and should be treated equally.

The Tianzong school believes that everything in the external world is merely a constraint, and only by transcending the mortal realm can one truly attain enlightenment.

“Is that so? I remember there is a chapter in Zhuangzi called ‘Knowing the North’ that talks about the existence of the Dao, saying that the Dao is everywhere.”

"The Way is in the ants, the Way is in the weeds, the Way is in the excrement. Well, it may sound a bit unpleasant, but it is indeed true."

"Back then, Zhuangzi was talking to a fellow named Dongguozi, and that fellow was just like you now, constantly spouting 'the Great Way.'"

"He even asked Zhuangzi, 'You're so wise, do you even know where the Great Dao is?' Zhuangzi was furious at that moment."

“He told him back that they were ants, but the guy was still not satisfied and kept asking. How could Zhuangzi, with his temper, stand it up? He then told him they were weeds.”

"The man was still not satisfied after he finished and kept asking questions. Zhuangzi became even more annoyed and said, 'Why are you so concerned about where the Dao is?'"

"The Dao is invisible and intangible. Everything in the world can be the Dao, so why do you have to make it concrete?"

"Such behavior will distort the Dao. After it was all over, Zhuangzi told him that the Dao is just dog shit and nothing at all."

Qin Qi looked at Jing Ni beside him and asked, "Do you know what the Dao is now?"

"do not know."

Jing Ni shook her head decisively. She was an assassin, not a master, and she couldn't understand what that mysterious Dao was.

All she knew was that people die when they are killed, and that people need to eat when they are hungry.

"What about you?"

Qin Qi turned to look at the Snow Maiden and asked again.

"I do not know either."

The Snow Maiden heard what Qin Qi had said earlier, but she didn't want to utter the words "the Dao is bullshit," since she wasn't one to discuss the Dao anyway.

Whether she knows what the 'Tao' is or not has no effect on her. Even if she doesn't know, she can still play her favorite music and dance her favorite dances.

Living a peaceful life with the person you love, it seems that the Tao (the Way) doesn't matter much.

"Chisongzi, what do you think the Dao is?"

Qin Qi ultimately posed the question to Chisongzi.

"Your debating skills are indeed impressive, but isn't it going too far to insult my Taoist ancestors like this?"

"What Zhuangzi meant was exactly what you said. When did Zhuangzi ever say that Taoism is dog shit?"

Chisongzi remained calm. After all, he was an old immortal who had cultivated for many years, and these words could not sway him.

"Zhuangzi didn't say that; I said it."

"But Zhuangzi is dead now, who knows what he really meant back then? Do you know? Or do I know?"

"Nobody knows, so any interpretation is possible, just like the Great Dao: the Dao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Dao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name."

"The Tao you see, the Tao you know, and the Tao you talk about are not the true Tao. Lao Tzu told everyone from the beginning that the Tao cannot be known."

"You keep talking about the Great Dao and transcending everything, but don't forget that everything in the world today is a manifestation of the Great Dao."

"To try to understand what the Great Dao is like while being detached from it is a joke, isn't it?"

"Just as ants on the ground cannot understand birds in the sky, and fish in the water cannot understand lions on land."

"What you think is ultimately just what you think, just like the teacup in your hand; you feel it doesn't matter whether it's there or not."

"But it is indeed used for drinking tea. Who says it is born a straw dog? Everything in the world has its purpose."

After Qin Qi finished speaking, he picked up his teacup and took a sip of tea. Chi Songzi looked at Qin Qi, unable to speak for a long time.

Indeed, they cannot prove that the Dao they believe in is correct, since the Dao is inherently an intangible entity.

Their pursuit of the Great Way, attempting to transform it into a concrete form, may itself be wrong, or perhaps impossible.

“When I came here before, I met Junior Brother Xiaoyaozi. He told me that although you have the reputation of being a madman, you are not bound by it.”

"I initially disagreed with the claim that your level of understanding is unfathomable, but after a debate, I am convinced."

"But I still have some questions. Would you be willing to fight me?"

Chisongzi was convinced, but he still wanted to see for himself just how high Qin Qi's realm was. He wanted to personally experience the other's Dao!

"I knew it would end in a fight. Xiaomeng, be careful not to get caught in the crossfire."

Snow Maiden shook her head, tidied up the cups, then called Xiaomeng over and kept a safe distance from Qin Qi and Chisongzi.

"Then let's fight outside."

Qin Qi spoke.

..........................................

Qin Qi and Chi Songzi arrived at the open space outside, exchanged a glance, and then immediately began their battle!

"Ten thousand rivers flow like autumn water!"

With a wave of his hand, Chishongzi manipulated the surrounding airflow, causing the snow to melt into water, which then gathered in his hand along with the airflow.

This is the autumn water of ten thousand rivers. The rivers of the world have always been like this, flowing from high to low. This is the way of nature and the general trend of heaven and earth.

Water cannot flow backwards; the autumn waters of ten thousand rivers surge forth with an unstoppable force, like a towering, monstrous wave!

"I don't know why, but the moves they use all look so powerful!"

"The Snow Maiden sighed from the side. Whether it was Xiaoyaozi's 'After the Snow's Clear Sky' or Chishongzi's 'Ten Thousand Rivers and Autumn Waters' now, both were incredibly handsome and magnificent!"

"Ah."

Jing Ni nodded. When she fought, she didn't use many fancy moves, and there wasn't even a sword aura effect.

It's simply about being fast, accurate, ruthless, and deadly!

Qin Qi looked at the giant wave rushing towards him, and simply reached out and made a grasping motion in the air, and the giant wave stopped instantly.

Then, it opened its arms, and the giant wave turned into countless fine raindrops, washing away the dust on the houses and the surrounding area.

"The world has lost its color!"

In an instant, Chishongzi's pure inner strength erupted, and for a moment the world seemed to stand still, and everything around him turned gray in Chishongzi's eyes.

The move "World Loses Color" requires a large amount of pure energy, but its effect is also extremely powerful, causing a lightning-like time stop effect around you!
