"If you don't mind, tell me what's bothering you."
“I think even that ‘big shot’ wouldn’t care if others shared the burden for the lady.”
Susan Stone hesitated for a moment. She didn't usually like to strike up conversations with strangers. The reason was simple: she knew her looks were attractive to some men, and besides, she hadn't brought any "protectors" with her today, so she should have been more cautious.
However, people are often visual creatures. A handsome guy can inspire trust in strangers, which is probably why the initial impression is higher.
In addition, Susan Stone really wanted to vent her frustrations to someone, so after hesitating for a while, she finally nodded.
"Chatting is fine, but please don't do anything else unnecessary."
"Of course."
"Every gentleman would react the same way to such a beautiful lady."
Upon hearing this, Susan Stone smiled sweetly, a smile that tasted like a chocolate sweetheart.
Susan Stone's smile boosted her charm by half a level.
But soon, that smile vanished without a trace.
"I met a friend..."
Hmm, very good, this is part of the "I Have a Friend" series.
"She encountered some trouble."
"Okay, please continue."
"She used to like a man a lot, and then one day, through some... strange, unbelievable means, she unexpectedly learned that if she continued to get close to that man, something very bad might happen."
"To be honest, she is not superstitious, but more and more things are proving that if she continues down this path, she may really encounter very, very bad things."
"She hesitated, even felt fear. She didn't know when it started, but she began to get closer and closer to him. No, more than that, she even wanted to run away and stay far away from that man."
"However, the man did not actually do anything wrong."
"No one is at fault!"
Locke smiled; he hadn't expected that his previous cryptic prophecy would have such a significant impact on the future invisible woman.
It seems there's no need for his adopted son Franklin to search for any special timelines anymore, even though Locke doesn't actually know where that brat has gone.
"So, after hearing this not-so-interesting story, what's your opinion on this kind of thing?"
Locke did not answer directly: "Before that, madam, I would like to ask you a question, a question that is not really related to this matter."
Juewei hesitated for a moment, then Susan nodded: "Then ask away. If it's too private, I'll refuse to answer."
"No, it doesn't involve any privacy. My question is, what is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you, madam?"
"The most exciting thing?" This question really stumped Susan. After thinking for a long time, Susan finally said with a strange expression, "The most exciting thing I've ever encountered is probably that one unbelievable experience that still bothers me to this day."
At this moment, Susan had given up on that idiotic pretense. Anyone with a normal IQ would easily guess that her so-called friend was actually herself.
"Then I understand."
"A well-behaved girl, from childhood to adulthood, she was the good girl in everyone's eyes. She was obedient and smart, loved by every elder and every peer. She grew up in a warm environment. She was also very smart and never encountered any difficulties or troubles."
Susan, who hadn't paid much attention at first, suddenly became lost in thought.
"She was well-behaved, cute, and excellent from a young age, and she maintained this excellence all the way into college. She never caused anyone any worry. She didn't associate with people outside of school and didn't have any bad habits. She was almost a perfect and standard model of a good child."
"Finally, when it came time for her to date, she remained well-behaved and excellent, refusing to associate with outsiders who were extremely attractive to her peers, and also ignoring baseball teams, basketball teams, and so on. She discovered a little treasure."
"A boy who, like her, has always been outstanding since childhood, is also very smart, and his grades are even better than the girl's. If the girl makes her whole family proud, then this boy makes the school proud of him."
He had no "bad habits," excellent grades, and a decent appearance—almost the perfect boyfriend template shaped by parental upbringing. So, she was smitten.
Locke stopped abruptly at this point.
"And then... what happened next?" Susan Stone asked expectantly.
"There is no more after that."
"I just want to tell you one thing, good girl, relationships are never an exam; there's no perfect answer sheet."
Susan Stone fell into deep thought.
"So, ma'am, would you like to experience some crazy things you've never tried before?"
Susan Stone's eyes held hesitation, resistance, and a hint of attraction.
Her past experiences told her that she shouldn't do that, that it wasn't something a 'good girl' should do, but her heart told her that she wanted to do it!
Just like drinking alone outside at night, that's never something a good girl should do, even if it's really safe here.
But she did it anyway, without reason or cause. She really wanted to, and in the end, she came here.
"So, come on, ma'am~"
Locke stretched out a hand, waiting in the distance.
Susan Stone stared at Locke's face, inexplicably mesmerized. It wasn't an infatuation with his handsome appearance, nor was it love at first sight. Rather, she saw something in him, something she longed for... freedom, and a touch of rebellion.
Finally, a slender hand reached out to Locke.
"Sir, please don't disappoint me. You may not know, but I studied law and obtained a certificate."
"So, I don't want to see you in prison next time."
Locke smiled slightly, completely unconcerned by this kitten-like threat.
Two hands, one large and one small, were placed together. The next moment, Susan Stone suddenly opened her eyes, and he and she... were floating.
Its body slowly floated up, as if it had lost the restriction of gravity. The speed seemed slow, but in just a few blinks, it arrived in the night sky.
Locke casually grabbed Yilun Crescent Moon and pulled him over.
This incredible scene made Susan Stone's eyes widen suddenly.
The next moment, Locke took her hand and sat down on the crescent moon.
Susan Stone subconsciously touched the crescent moon beneath her; it was soft, like jelly.
Surprise, novelty, disbelief—a mix of emotions welled up inside me.
"We need something to embellish it."
A snap of the fingers was made out of thin air, and instantly, streaks of light streaked across the sky, long shooting stars with trails of light, blooming with dazzling brilliance in the night.
“So beautiful~”
Susan Stone was inexplicably somewhat mesmerized.
A hand, without her noticing, rested on her slender waist and gently pulled her close.
Susan's body stiffened slightly, but for some reason, she didn't resist violently. She subconsciously turned around, and Locke lowered his head accordingly.
Chapter 113 The Disordered Timeline
In the early morning, sunlight streamed through the window and shone on a bed. The messy blankets were held between a pair of long, beautiful legs, and looking up, one could vaguely see the exquisitely perky, fair curves.
Locke leaned against the headboard, playing with the chocolate beauty's hair, a strange glint in his eyes.
"Strange, it really is just an ordinary, normal female body."
Yesterday, I thoroughly investigated the inside and outside. It's very smooth and wonderful. But the question is, how could such a normal female body give birth to that freak who could become a single individual at the age of four?
"Titans, miraculous beings, are indeed beyond the comprehension of ordinary reason."
To be honest, Locke couldn't help but feel a little envious at that moment.
Miracle creatures, born Titans, born extraordinary, natural multi-species seeds. Even if they cannot become multi-species in the end, as long as they do not die young, reaching the super-monotype level is almost effortless.
"Mmm~" Susan let out a soft moan, her beautiful eyes slowly opening. She was dazed for a moment before her consciousness gradually returned.
Suddenly, her expression changed. She lifted the blanket and glanced at Locke, her gaze becoming extremely complicated.
"Don't you have anything to say?"
"Mmm, great!"
Susan laughed in exasperation. Of course she knew it was great, and you too... ptooey, ptooey, was that what she meant to say?
"Damn it, that's not what I meant..."
"Oh, I see~" Locke nodded knowingly.
"So what are you going to do? Turn yourself in...?"
"Wait, what are you going to do!"
"Don't move, don't move, it still hurts!"
"no, do not want……"
After an unknown amount of time, Susan, her face flushed, angrily threw a pillow at Locke.
"Bad guy!"
It's less about being angry and more about being coquettish.
Locke chuckled and reached out to pull her into his arms.
"Now you no longer need to dwell on that thing that's making you depressed. Isn't that a perfect solution?"
Susan rolled her eyes dramatically. Of course, there was no need to be upset. It was impossible to go back to Reed now. But the question was, how was the problem solved?
So you're not going to solve the problem, you're going to target the person who raised it, right?
A moment later, Susan found a more comfortable position in Locke's arms and snuggled closer to him.
"What are your plans for me?"
Locke took a stack of documents that had appeared out of nowhere from the bedside table.
"Just pick one and see which one you like better."
Susan curiously took the documents and flipped through them one by one. In no time, Susan's expression became extremely complicated.
Large corporations, major law firms, top financial institutions...
The future life she imagined during her chat last night has all appeared here.
Susan wasn't the kind of woman who cared a lot about wealth, otherwise she wouldn't have fallen for an idiot like Reed. But dislike aside, who could resist a man who, if you casually say, "I like this kind of flower, this kind of candy," will send you the top-notch florist and the entire candy factory the next day?
"what do you mean?"
Locke casually ruffled Susan's hair: "It's nothing, just finding you a job to pass the time, that's all."
"Life without a job would be much more boring, and these are exactly the things you like."
Upon hearing this, Susan's expression improved considerably.
"I understand what you mean. Work and life are both indispensable."
"If I say I don't want any of these, what are you going to do?"
Do you like Hell's Kitchen?
Susan's eyes widened suddenly, and after a moment she murmured in understanding, "So that's it, you're the mastermind behind Hell's Kitchen!"
Locke smiled slightly: "Yes and no. I dealt with a small fry back then, and I felt this piece of land was pretty good, so I took it. If you like it, this place is yours to plan however you like."
"The Queen of Hell's Kitchen, or Empress? That doesn't sound too bad."
Susan lightly punched Locke: "Go to hell, what queen and empress, that sounds awful."
"However, this job seems quite interesting."
Just like Locke said yesterday, Susan is really outstanding. She studied management and her biggest aspiration is to be the little pepper at Stark Industries.
Now, with an entire Hell's Kitchen at her disposal, she has a status that even Pepper Potts probably can't match.
Pepper Potts may have a high status, but Stark Industries is not just one person's Stark Industries, while Hell's Kitchen belongs 100% to one person.
Watching Susan enthusiastically making various plans, Locke simply listened with a smile.
Locke had no intention of bringing Susan back to Hellfire. There were already enough women in Hellfire; there was no need to put all the women together, just as Locke didn't care that Natasha and Spider-Woman were out there being superheroes all the time.
If they were all taken in and treated like decorative objects, these original superheroines would lose much of their luster.
Should I resign now?
Susan has a very decisive personality. She was conflicted before because many things were involved, but now that things are resolved, she has regained her decisiveness and has the demeanor of a strong, efficient woman.
