Asahi, flattered, waved her hands repeatedly: "It's my pleasure! It's my pleasure! Our 133rd branch is counting on you..."
The sound of the door closing interrupted his flattery.
Asahi stood there for a moment, then suddenly seemed to remember something and hurriedly grabbed the Den Den Mushi from the table.
"Hey? Prepare the best supplies immediately! Warrant Officer Gern is setting sail!"
……
In the corridor, Guern's pace quickened until it almost turned into a run.
Only one thought was on his mind: he had to get to Ashport as soon as possible!
"Warrant Lieutenant Gern!" Several naval soldiers saluted him as they saw his hurried manner.
"Assemble a small squad immediately and prepare the warships!" Gern ordered sternly.
"Ash Harbor under attack. We're departing in ten minutes!"
The soldiers dared not delay and acted swiftly.
Gern returned to his room, grabbed the black sword Bahuang from the table, and steadily carried it on his back.
He took a deep breath, a cold glint in his eyes, "The Blood Spear Pirates..."
Ten minutes later, a warship sailed away from the port of Branch 133 and headed at full speed toward Ash Harbor.
Gern stood at the bow of the ship, the sea breeze brushing against his face, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon, his thoughts already drifting to the future.
The Blood Spear Pirates were just one step in his plan; the real challenge was yet to come.
The Marine Headquarters, the monsters of the New World, and those whose Haki has yet to be awakened.
"Almost there..." he murmured to himself, a tiny cluster of vibrating particles unconsciously gathering in his palm before vanishing in an instant.
"Warrant Officer, we expect to arrive at Ash Harbor in two hours," a soldier reported.
Gern nodded and said in a deep voice, "Notify everyone to prepare for battle."
This time, we're facing a band of bloodthirsty pirates; show no mercy.
"Yes!" the soldier replied solemnly, then turned and left.
"Blood Spear Carlos, my final achievement..." he murmured the name, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
"Your head is my 'pledge of allegiance' for promotion to headquarters!!"
Chapter 11 Justice delayed is justice denied.
The surface of the West Sea has never been so calm...
Gern stood on the deck of the warship, one hand on the hilt of the Black Blade Eight Desolations, his gaze fixed on the outline of the island that was gradually emerging in the distance.
"Report! Ash Harbor is just ahead!" A naval soldier strode over, his voice tinged with unease.
"According to intelligence, the Blood Spear Pirates landed this morning..."
“This morning we landed…” Gern didn’t answer, he just narrowed his eyes slightly.
Ash Harbor—a famous fishing port town in the West Sea, rich in precious luminous pearls. The town's residents have made a living by fishing for generations, leading a peaceful and prosperous life.
But now, this town, which should be bathed in the morning light, is shrouded in an eerie silence.
The warship slowly approached the shore, and a strange smell wafted through the air... coke, blood, and rotting flesh.
Gern frowned almost imperceptibly.
"Something's not right..." The naval soldier behind him swallowed hard. "It's too quiet here..."
When the warship finally docked at the pier, everyone froze in place.
blood.
The entire port floor was stained dark red, the thick blood plasma still wet, and boots made a nauseating squelching sound when stepped on.
The corpses were piled up haphazardly, some with spears piercing their chests and nailing them to wooden crates, others with their limbs cut off and discarded by the roadside like rags.
"Ugh!" A young naval recruit finally couldn't hold it in and bent over to vomit.
Gern ignored him and strode forward, his military boots landing on the Ash Harbor docks, the sticky texture beneath his feet.
On both sides of the street, houses were burned down to their charred skeletons; the flames had long since died out, but the thick smoke still lingered.
Several charred corpses lay curled up in the ruins, maintaining the posture of struggling before death.
The fishing boats that were originally moored in the fishing port were burned to the skeletons, with the charred hulls floating on the water, and the sunken corpses could be vaguely seen underwater, like a group of drowned fish.
And this is just the port!!!
"These pirate bastards..." A marine following behind Gern gritted his teeth, his fists clenched so tightly they cracked.
Gern did not stop. His gaze swept over every scene of devastation, and his expression remained as cold and hard as iron.
Until he reached the fishing port town...
The entire town, once famous for its 'luminous pearls', has been reduced to hell.
On the streets, corpses were piled up in twisted positions, some pinned to the walls by spears, others disemboweled with their entrails dragging on the ground like dark red carpets.
The child's body was hung from the lighthouse's rope, swaying gently in the sea breeze.
Their throats were slit, their blood had long since drained, leaving only empty eyes staring at the sky.
At the tavern entrance, a man's head was impaled on the top of a flagpole symbolizing the navy, his jaw brutally pried open, and a luminous pearl stuffed into his mouth.
Using Ash Harbor's specialties as ironic "decorations".
The square in the center of town.
There stands a "tower" made of corpses.
Dozens of bodies were brutally piled together, and on top of them was a naked little girl draped in a naval flag.
Her throat was slit, and her hands were nailed to wooden stakes on either side, like a nailed butterfly.
But her eyes remained open, staring blankly at the sky, as if questioning something.
"This...is this even human?!" Many sailors with poor mental resilience collapsed and roared on the spot.
And so Gern silently stared at the "corpse tower," his eyes terrifyingly deep, his clenched knuckles sinking deep.
So behind those romanticized banquets in Oda's works... lies a child clutching his mother in a charred building...
Those civilians nailed to the mast as human flags, without exception, were telling Gern...
This is simply what kind of... most free adventure world it is.
"Report! Warrant Officer Gern, we've found survivors on the east side!" A naval soldier rushed over.
“Take me there.” Gern immediately turned around and strode toward a half-collapsed warehouse on the east side.
Inside the warehouse, several militiamen covered in blood huddled in a corner, one of whom was still alive but on the verge of death.
His abdomen was pierced, and blood gushed out, staining the straw beneath him red.
"Hold on! The medics are coming right away!" A naval soldier rushed forward to try to stop the bleeding.
The militiaman, trembling, raised his hand and gripped the soldier's collar tightly, his voice hoarse:
"They...deliberately...disturbed the time..."
"What?" The soldier was taken aback.
“Pirates…they…deliberately made us…call for help…” The militiaman’s pupils began to dilate. “They wanted…to lure you…here…”
Gern's eyes suddenly turned cold.
Just then, a series of hurried footsteps came from outside the warehouse.
"Warrant Lieutenant Gern! The Blood Spear Pirates' ship has been spotted at the eastern port! They...they didn't leave at all!"
Guern pursed his lips and slowly stood up from beside the lifeless body of the militiaman. "So this was a hunt."
The Blood Spear Pirates massacred the entire town, but deliberately left a distress signal, just to wait for the Navy to arrive and wipe them all out!
"These pirates, damn them..." The navy soldier's face turned pale.
With the black sword Bahuang slung over his shoulder, Gern strode out, his tone icy, "Direction."
Upon hearing Gern's words, the naval recruits were stunned for a moment, then quickly realized and said, "The Blood Spear Pirates haven't left the eastern port."
“Hmm,” Gern responded, his voice low and cold.
Without pausing for a moment, he crossed the street, the black sword Bahuang on his back swaying slightly with his movements.
Upon seeing him, the naval soldiers on both sides straightened their backs and saluted, their eyes filled with awe.
"Lieutenant Gern!" The young navy officer caught up, his voice hesitant, "We..."
Gern didn't stop, his cold voice particularly clear in the sea breeze: "Send the warships out. If any escapees are found, kill them without mercy."
"But Warrant Officer..." the Navy officer swallowed hard, "how many men do you want to take?"
“No need.” Gern’s back cast a long shadow in the sunlight. “I am enough on my own.”
“But that’s the Blood Spear Pirates! They…” The young marine’s words trailed off.
He saw Gern suddenly stop, his gaze fixed on the small figure wrapped in the naval flag.
The girl's body had been carried off the deck, but the blue and white flag now seemed like a resounding slap in the face.
"All personnel, listen to my command!" Gern's roar silenced the entire dock.
The sailors turned in astonishment to see their warrant officer's eyes burning with terrifying rage.
"Tear down all the flags on the warships..." His voice trembled with suppressed anger.
"Warrant officer, this..."
Gern slowly turned around, his gaze sweeping over every young face before finally settling on the small corpse.
“Justice delayed…” His voice was soft, yet it struck everyone’s heart like a heavy hammer. “It doesn’t deserve to be called justice at all.”
When Gern's figure disappeared at the end of the harbor, the young sailors remained standing in place.
I don't know who raised their fist first, but then came the second, the third...
A flicker of admiration crossed the eyes of these young naval personnel, and they shouted in unison, "Lower the flag!!!"
Chapter 12 "Blood Spear" Logot
At the eastern port of Ash Harbor, a pirate ship was moored, and the Blood Spear Pirates' flag fluttered in the wind.
The flag depicts a blood-dripping spear piercing a skull, its crimson background appearing as if dyed with blood.
On the open ground of the port, the pirates sat around a campfire, with unknown meats on the grill, their grease dripping into the fire and making a sizzling sound.
The air was filled with a strange smell, a mixture of burnt and bloody odors.
"Captain, this haul is pretty good!" one of the pirates grinned, bits of meat stuck to his teeth.
"Those navy ships should be arriving soon, let's pull off another big heist!"
"Hmph, the navy of the Western Sea..." A tall, thin figure sat on a reef, the old scars on his pale skin looking particularly ferocious in the firelight.
He slowly raised his hand and stroked the "Bloodbeak" spear beside him, which could be disassembled and reassembled; the barbs at the tip of the spear gleamed coldly.
"They're nothing but a bunch of good-for-nothings."
"Blood Spear" Logot wore a cloak pieced together from looted naval officer uniforms, the rank insignia he had deliberately preserved gleaming in the firelight.
A cruel smile curled at the corner of his lips: "When they arrive, I'll hang the leader's head on 'Bloodbeak'."
This will let the navy of the West Sea know, "I'm back, hahaha..."
Suddenly, the laughter stopped abruptly.
The sea breeze suddenly stopped for a moment.
The pirates by the campfire noticed something was wrong and looked up.
At the port entrance, a figure was walking slowly towards the port.
It was a boy in a navy uniform with a long sword wrapped in white bandages slung across his back.
