However, the job of a convenience store clerk is indeed the easiest part-time job to start.

There's not much skill involved; it's just running errands, carrying things, and occasionally acting as a cashier.

Faced with the enthusiastic Aoyama Nanami, Asada Shino subconsciously shrank her neck.

She nodded slightly in response, then spoke softly:

"Something came up and I was held up. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, Aoyama."

“It’s alright, I’m not in a hurry.” Aoyama Nanami quickly replied, while taking off her shop assistant uniform and handing it to Asada Shino.

Asada Shino came to relieve the other shift; she was responsible for the night shift, while Aoyama Nanami had other part-time jobs.

Looking at the somewhat aloof and wary girl in front of her, Shiina Mahiru smiled and extended her hand to her.

"Hello, Ms. Asada, I'm Mahiru Shiina, who just started this part-time job. Nice to meet you."

Asada Shino looked at Shiina Mahiru's fair little hands, then at her soft, shimmering skin, her beautiful face, and her long golden hair. Her sweet smile was as angelic as ever.

She was afraid that her hands were not clean, so she quickly wiped her trench coat vigorously before gently shaking hands with Shiina Mahiru.

"Nice to meet you, I am Shino Asada."

A dazzlingly beautiful girl like Shiina Mahiru must be a rich young lady who's out experiencing life. She's obviously not the same kind of person as a down-and-out guy like me.

Because she was called a murderer and the rumors spread to the store, no one wants to associate with Asada Shino anymore.

Fortunately, the store manager is very kind and is still willing to let her work here.

Now, only Aoyama Nanami, who knows nothing, the angelic girl in front of her, and the shop manager are willing to smile at her.

But how long can that smile last?

Once Shiina and Aoyama hear about her murder, they'll definitely distance themselves from her again, right?

A deep sense of inferiority prevents Asada Shino from confidently facing the incredibly dazzling Shiina Mahiru.

She could only try to distance herself from him, do her job well, and go home when it was time to leave.

Shiina Mahiru looked at Asada Shino's sorrowful face, and something touched her heart.

I was alone in the rain at that time, and in Mu Jun's eyes, I probably looked just as pitiful.

Some people have been rained on themselves, so they want to hold an umbrella for others.

However, there are also some people who, having been caught in the rain themselves, want to drag others down with them.

Shiina Mahiru is clearly the former.

Chapter 29: Where does this sense of superiority come from?

Shino Asada used to have several close girlfriends at school with whom she could talk about anything.

However, after news of her past murders spread, her best friend gradually distanced herself from her.

He even started subjecting her to emotional abuse, just like everyone else.

Because of this incident, Asada Shino has now closed herself off and is unwilling to trust anyone.

As long as she doesn't open up to others or have too much contact with them, she won't experience a huge psychological letdown.

Without a heart, there is no hurt.

But humans are social animals after all. How can people stay at home all the time and not go out and face other people?

Financial hardship forced Asada Shino to work odd jobs, quietly and tenaciously surviving in a corner of the world.

Despite her hard work and dedication, she still gets bullied.

That night, someone almost robbed me of the wages I had earned from my hard work.

Even in the shop, she was the one who was bullied.

Human beings are just that complex.

Sometimes, even when you could simply ignore someone, you can't help but think of bullying someone weaker or of lower status to satisfy your own insignificant sense of superiority.

"Asada, I'm so tired right now. You're so late, how about you help me with all this work? I can treat you to pineapple buns afterwards."

A male shop assistant with long hair arrogantly gave orders to Asada Shino.

His sly eyes would occasionally fall on Asada's cute face, but Shiina Mahiru, who was even more dazzling than Asada and seemed to be a young lady experiencing life, was the one he focused on observing.

Despite her reluctance to work for a "senior" who had started working at the shop before her, Asada Shino was faced with the situation.

But adhering to the principle of avoiding trouble, she silently put down the rag in her hand and went over to help another male colleague who seemed hesitant to speak to move his things.

Seeing Asada Shino looking like a punching bag, Kurata Masahiro, as her senior, smiled smugly.

Shiina Mahiru saw Asada Shino quietly doing other people's work and couldn't help but go over to stop her.

"Stop doing this, Asada. Our job is just to be a cashier and organize the shelves. It doesn't include transporting goods into the warehouse."

As she spoke, Shiina Mahiru glanced coldly at Kurata and said in a deep voice:

"You should do your own work. What kind of man bullies a girl?"

Before Asada Shino could say anything, the long-haired man with a smug look on his face, Kurata Masahiro, quickly spoke up:

"Hey, Ms. Shiina, I only asked her for help because it's for her own good! Don't get the wrong idea!"

"Huh? For Asada's own good? What nonsense are you talking about?"

Shiina Mahiru's eyes widened, finding this senior utterly unreasonable.

Pushing his own work onto a girl is simply bullying her, and he still has the nerve to say it's for Asada Shino's own good?

Why is his face so big?

Kurata glanced smugly at the stiff Asada Shino and brazenly revealed Asada's secret.

“Miss Shiina, the reason I asked her for help was actually to make her atone for her sins! You don’t know, do you? This Asada is a murderer! She personally killed a living person!”

As she finished speaking, Shino Asada closed her eyes; she knew it would turn out this way.

Knowing this reason, even the gentle Shiina would distance herself from him.

There is no place in this world for a murderer like myself.

Even her mother and teachers at school looked at her with fear. Who would want to accept someone who had killed another person?

Upon hearing Kurata's words, Shiina Mahiru's eyes widened in disbelief.

She has always been an excellent student, so she naturally has nothing to do with murder.

However, even if Asada Shino has killed someone, that is not a reason for her to take over Kurata's work!

Why should I atone for my sins by working for you?

"Well, Ms. Shiina, now that you know this, you shouldn't stop trying to stop us. This is all for Asada's own good."

Kurata spoke with righteous indignation, looking at Asada Shino with a mocking gaze, while stealing lewd glances at Shiina Mahiru's cute face.

He considered himself to be quite handsome, and by bringing Shiina Mahiru into his camp and having them bully Asada, who was ostracized, he could get in touch with Shiina.

He was calculating his next move.

"Asada is a murderer. Shiina, are you really going to stand up for someone like that? Aren't you afraid that one day she will hurt you or the people around you?"

Seeing the disgusted look in this senior's eyes, Shiina Mahiru's gaze turned cold, and she was about to retort.

Suddenly, a familiar voice reached my ears.

"So are you aware that the person Asada accidentally killed was a bank robber with a criminal record of several murders?"

Shiina Mahiru and Asada Shino instinctively turned around to look at the person who walked in, their eyes widening in surprise.

"Student Lin!"

"Mu Jun! What brings you here?"

"Hey, you know him?" The two girls looked at each other in unison, both somewhat surprised.

Lin Mu walked over with a smile, reached out and touched Shiina Mahiru's hair before speaking:

"How dare you say that? You didn't even tell me you were going out for a part-time job. Do you know how long I waited at your door? I rang the doorbell so many times you ignored me."

"If it weren't for my classmate Aoyama coming back and telling me that you work here, I would still be completely unaware."

Shiina Mahiru blushed and lowered her head as he stroked her hair.

Hearing him say he was about to ring his doorbell until it broke, I couldn't help but puff out my cheeks.

This guy must be up to something bad again, otherwise why would he ring the doorbell?

What a terrible person.

Lin Mu gently stroked Mahiru's hair, then looked tenderly at Asada Shino, whose expression was somewhat disappointed.

"Hey, Asada-kun, we meet again. But why is it that every time we see you, you're the one being bullied?"

Asada Shino blushed and lowered her head, not daring to look him in the eye.

"Hey, who are you? I didn't bully Asada. I just asked her to help me move something. I'm a senior here. We're both employees here. What's wrong with asking a junior to run an errand for me?"

Kurata was furious when he saw the beautiful girl he had fallen in love with at first sight willingly letting a pretty boy pat her head.

Hearing such words now, I couldn't help but jump out and interrupt.

Shiina Mahiru gave Kurata a disdainful look and said coldly, "Senior, huh? You're just a worker too, why are you making things difficult for a worker?"

Moreover, after hearing Lin Mu's words, she realized that there were other hidden reasons behind Asada Shino's murder.

This also proves that my feeling was correct.

Asada is actually a nice girl, not at all the vicious murderer Kurata described.

Kurata was somewhat embarrassed and angry after being mocked by Shiina Mahiru.

"What did I do? You brat, you have no respect for your seniors at all... Ugh!"

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Mu slapped him across the face.

Amidst the gasps of others, Kurata seemed to be struck by a tremendous force, flying into the air and spinning twice before crashing to the ground.

Cang got up with a pained expression, spitting out two teeth.

Lin Mu sneered, "Who gave you permission to yell at my Mahiru? What if you scare her?"

The male shop assistant next to Kurata trembled slightly, inwardly cursing.

Who's scarier than you!

He'll hit someone if there's a disagreement.

Ouch, Kurata-senpai even spat out two teeth, it looks painful.

"You think you're worthy of being called a senior? You just started working here a little earlier than others, where does your sense of superiority come from?"

"How dare you accuse other girls of murder? How can you be so shameless?"

Lin Mu sneered, grabbed Kurata by the back of the neck, who was screaming in pain, turned to Asada Shino and Shiina Mahiru, who were covering their mouths in surprise, smiled gently, and said:

"Sorry, did I scare you? I really hate this kind of person, and I just couldn't help wanting to punch him. Don't worry, leave everything to me, nothing will happen. I'll teach him a lesson, you can continue with your work."

"Also, Asada-kun, don't do work that isn't your responsibility. You work hard and it's not easy for you."

After saying that, he dragged Kurata away from the shop like a dead dog.

Chapter 30: The Power to Fulfill Wishes

Kurata, who had been so arrogant, was dragged away like a dead dog, leaving everyone somewhat astonished.

Shiina was also stunned for a moment, and then she picked up a broom and started sweeping up the two bloody teeth on the ground.

Although she was slightly startled by Lin Mu's sudden outburst, her trust in him overcame everything.

She believed that Lin Mu would handle the matter well, and she just needed to wait for the result.

This guy is surprisingly responsible.

Asada Shino was deeply moved, having been saved by Hayashi once again.

Or rather, he saw her again, witnessing her pathetic, humiliating, and bullied state.
