Chapter 69 Soul Skill: Eight Spirit Prison
Han Feng took flight, soaring into the sky and heading towards the secret realm Wei Qianshi had mentioned.
To be honest, the reason he agreed to Wei Qianshi's request was because of this secret realm.
The fact that it could injure Wei Qianshi, who was at the level of a five-star Dou Zong, means that the iris serpent was at least a seventh-tier magical beast. And there is a high probability that a secret realm guarded by a seventh-tier magical beast contains seventh-tier treasures, or even eighth-tier treasures.
After traveling all the way to the Broken Sky Mountain Range, Han Feng followed the directions and headed into the mountain.
He didn't go looking for Wei Qianshi's friends, firstly because there wasn't enough time, and secondly because it would be difficult to divide the spoils if there were too many people around.
Perhaps this time we can really make a big splash.
Han Feng thought to himself.
After much searching, Han Feng finally found the secret realm.
He punched forward, causing the enclosed space to tremble and then sucking Han Feng in.
Inside the secret realm was a desolate mountain path.
There was silence all around, as if lifeless.
A flash of blue light passed through Han Feng's eyes before he stepped forward.
The Iris Serpent's special ability is Phantom Poison. As long as you can guard against this in advance, it is not difficult to defeat the opponent.
Han Feng walked calmly through the desolate mountains.
Among the storage rings Wei Qianshi gave him were some fifth- and sixth-order spirit ores, which were mined from the desolate mountain secret realm.
Spirit ore is a top-grade material used to forge weapons.
Compared to ordinary ores, spirit ores can greatly increase the strength of weapons, stimulate the power of magic cores, and also give weapons the ability to advance.
Whether it's first-tier, second-tier, or even sixth-tier or seventh-tier spirit ore, it's a treasure that will be fiercely contested.
For cultivators, a suitable weapon is extremely important.
If this weapon can accompany a cultivator throughout their growth, its role will become even more irreplaceable.
Ancient clans all possessed similar weapons with growth potential, and these weapons had already been refined to the ninth rank or higher, touching the threshold of the Emperor rank.
The Ancient Emperor Mirror of the Ancient Clan, the Blood-Slaying Demon Blade of the Soul Clan, and the Dragon-Slaying Sword of the Ancient Dragon Clan of the Void are all the strongest imperial weapons in the world.
Among them, the Dragon Slayer Sword is the most special, as only the Dragon Emperor can summon it; it is a divine weapon infused with bloodline.
Han Feng's weapon in his previous life, the Xuanzhong Ruler, was made of extraterrestrial divine iron, a top-tier material of the same spirit ore level. It remained undamaged from the time he was a Dou Zhe to the time he was a Dou Sheng.
Unfortunately, the Xuanzhong Ruler is gone in this life, so he can only forge a new one.
As they ventured deeper, the rocks around Han Feng became increasingly bizarre, appearing as if they had been arranged in a highly regular pattern.
Looking around, this arrangement extends to the other side of the mountain.
Such a massive scale seems less like human creation and more like a masterpiece of nature.
Under Han Feng's soul perception, a powerful aura erupted from the mountains.
A giant, purple python soared into the sky, its head adorned with wings resembling kites, and its body shimmered with purple light, as smooth as tail feathers.
Iris Serpent.
Han Feng stood calmly in place, showing no sign of panic.
The aura of a seventh-tier magical beast spread out, and some overturned boulders splashed out, shattering into powder in mid-air.
The grand opening was not just for show; Han Feng had already sensed tiny, transparent hallucinogenic toxins mixed with stone powder drifting through the air.
No wonder Wei Qianshi fell for it; the opponent had already set a trap before the fight even started.
With a flick of his sleeve, Han Feng unleashed a wave of flames that swept away the powder containing the poisonous gas.
The iris serpent hissed aggressively, its enormous eyes slowly narrowing.
Step, step, step!
Han Feng stepped on a green lotus and ascended into the air step by step. Although he did not reach the Dou Zong realm, he displayed an aura that was in no way inferior to that of the Iris Serpent.
As he rose higher, a wave gradually surged behind Han Feng.
The Iris Serpent looked at the tiny human before it with apprehension. How could a mere Dou Huang realm cultivator exert such terrifying pressure on it?
Animal instincts made the iris serpent want to retreat, but its newly developed intelligence made it choose to stay put.
Some rare and precious materials are often guarded by powerful magical beasts.
Most of these magical beasts do not directly consume the rare and precious materials, but instead guard them nearby, coexisting and living together with them.
The Iris Serpent has guarded this place for many years; it's unlikely that it will be able to scare the opponent away directly.
Han Feng slowly raised his hand, and the strange waves behind him grew even higher.
"Flame Roar!"
The fiery tsunami erupted instantly, surging towards the Iris Serpent with an unavoidable force.
The iris serpent's pupils froze. The overwhelming sea of fire shattered its reason, and its animal instincts instantly took over, causing it to flee into the distance without looking back.
boom!
Flaming waves crashed against the barren mountains, like a grand performance, splashing up sprays of water.
In its final moments, when there was no way to avoid it, the Iris Serpent finally launched a fierce counterattack, but it only held out for a short while before being overwhelmed by waves of fire.
Han Feng did not rush to capture it, but instead used the scattered sea flames to sense the treasure trove of this secret realm.
hum!
A beam of precious light shot into the sky.
Han Feng looked up at the mountain peak, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"interesting."
This spontaneous burst of spiritual energy undoubtedly indicates that it is an eighth-tier treasure.
Without delay, Han Feng immediately went to the Iris Serpent and took some of its blood.
Instead of killing him, Han Feng spared his life and then rushed towards the mountain peak.
Eighth-tier spiritual creatures already possess extremely strong spirituality, and when they encounter danger, they will reveal themselves like this.
Han Feng arrived near the treasure light, gathered his soul power in his eyes, and looked into it.
A milky white mass slowly floated up, then suddenly released a fierce burst of energy.
Han Feng's soul power was immediately and violently attacked, but fortunately his soul power was strong enough to withstand it.
Han Feng grunted, his body advancing instead of retreating, his soul power condensing into a sharp spiral blade, which he then charged directly into the treasure light.
boom! boom! boom!
The soul force broke through the eighth-order spiritual object's defenses layer by layer, and the opponent finally panicked and began to flee upwards.
Han Feng opened his slightly bloodshot eyes and gave a low shout:
"Soul Skill: Eight Spirit Prisons!"
The soul force instantly condensed into a soul cage that fell from the sky, directly locking the treasure inside.
Buzz!
The eighth-tier spiritual creature struggled fiercely, and rings of white energy rippled outwards, causing the entire mountain range to tremble and rocks to collapse.
Han Feng gritted his teeth, his acupoints throbbed, and bloodshot veins spread in his eyes.
This was a contest fraught with danger, and even Han Feng himself had not expected to encounter such a powerful eighth-order spiritual creature.
If Wei Qianshi had been there, the impact the opponent just released would have killed him instantly.
Such high-level spiritual creatures, which are specifically designed to strike the soul, can only be subdued by powerful individuals at the Dou Zun level if they do not possess soul skills.
Fortunately, Han Feng's cultivation in soul power was very solid, and he had made great progress in the past six months. If it were him six months ago, he might not have been able to solve the problem.
Seeing that the struggle of the eighth-order spiritual creature had subsided, Han Feng seized the opportunity, took a deep breath, and formed a profound soul seal with his hands.
This was his most treasured skill from his previous life.
Chapter 70 Remarks on the launch
This is another new book. From the moment I started writing it to when it was finally published, there were many twists and turns along the way.
The initial concept for this book was written in three versions. After much deliberation, the image of the "good guy" Han Feng was finally settled.
When I started writing, I was very rusty because I hadn't written for several months, and I always felt that something was not written well.
So I temporarily changed to a different version, wanting to continue writing about Han Feng's selfish character. The story I came up with was quite interesting. It was the same past life, the same rebellion, but Han Feng didn't kill his master. Instead, he was expelled from the sect and made a vow that things would change in thirty years, haha.
If Han Feng were to transmigrate into the original story, things would definitely turn out differently.
However, due to the need to make hasty revisions in a short period of time and the inability to come up with any interesting plot ideas, I found it very frustrating. Therefore, I ultimately reverted to the initial draft and began a proper rewrite. (I wrote an outline of 30,000 to 40,000 words for the initial draft.)
I hate rewriting. I didn't care about some chapters in the previous books that I didn't like, but I changed a lot this time. I think a writer has to go through a process of burying a lot of drafts.
However, as I wrote, I found that I no longer had the passion and motivation I had when I first started writing a book.
I've had that feeling before: once I get into writing, I can stay up all night, typing away seven or eight chapters, still feeling like I haven't had enough, and I'm not even that tired. But I know that as soon as I lie down in bed, I can fall asleep within a minute.
The reason I have such passion is because I am also very interested in writing stories and want to write something as original as possible. I get very excited when I write a plot that satisfies me.
What followed was the arduous life of writing. Sometimes, when a person doesn't do something for a long time, laziness really does grow.
Even if I have nothing to do all day and just lie in bed, I can probably only manage to type 4000 words with great difficulty.
Because I spend most of my other time slacking off.
Especially during the Chinese New Year period, one day I found that I really couldn't finish writing. My brain was frozen, and I couldn't move the plot forward no matter what I did. As I watched the time slowly approach midnight, I only wrote 2000 words that day, and that was my first update.
That day happened to be the last day before my new book was due to meet the requirements for being added to the database. I hadn't finished writing it, so the book wasn't added to the database, resulting in a small loss of traffic.
Then I started a life of slacking off, writing 2000 words a day. Later, I don't know when I turned over a new leaf and resumed writing 4000 words a day.
Honestly, this is the book I wrote in the most rush ever, because I had no drafts and not a single chapter.
I have to write and post code on the spot every day, which is also a sign of my laziness.
Until yesterday, I saved a chapter for the first time ever, and this morning I asked the editor when it would be available for purchase. The editor replied that it would be at noon.
Thankfully, I saved one chapter yesterday, and then immediately turned on my computer and wrote another one, so I was able to submit two chapters of assignment by noon.
I wrote another chapter this afternoon. To be honest, March 18th was probably my most productive day, haha.
I have a feeling this book will do better than the last one.
It wasn't just the comments from readers, but also the tips and votes, that brought me to the peak of my writing career.
I even gained my first Alliance Leader, and I'm truly grateful to Xiaobo for his continued support.
I write books partly for money and partly to gain readers' approval.
I will try my best to write a story that satisfies both myself and everyone else.
I sincerely thank those who support me and allow me to move forward step by step.
Thank you for the book on spring outings!
Chapter 71 Heavenly Dao: Devouring Spirits (Seeking First Subscription)
The mysterious soul imprint began to undergo drastic changes, and Han Feng's soul power surged dramatically, even surpassing the spiritual light emitted by an eighth-order spiritual treasure.
A phantom figure stood tall, seemingly a symbol of the heavens, possessing supreme power.
"Heavenly Dao - Devouring Spirits".
Han Feng raised his right hand, and the tall, illusory soul behind him also slowly raised his arm.
hum!
Sensing its fate, the eighth-tier spirit creature began its final struggle, but unfortunately, as the phantom hand fell, the overwhelming spiritual light instantly subsided.
Han Feng finally saw the appearance of the eighth-tier spiritual item in his hand.
