Traveling through Naruto, I am Uchiha Obito?

Book author: cokelaodacp

Book Description: This book aims to offer a different perspective on Obito Uchiha.

My name is Whirlpool Cube. I am a time traveler and was born in a small village in the Water Kingdom.

Although he is not a noble old Konoha man in the ninja world, he lives a pretty good life. With the foresight of a time traveler and the bloodline of the Uzumaki clan, this is a good start.

Even though the black-haired family trait isn't very obvious, there's still a lot of chakra. Even if I fail, I can just go to Konoha and cling to Naruto's thighs and win until the end. There's no need to panic! The future is bright, win!

It wasn't until I was seven years old, when my mother, Uzumaki Tomono, was critically ill and bedridden, that she told me my father was a mysterious person wearing a white vortex mask. I looked at my Sharingan eyes, still shedding tears, in the mirror, touched my prickly spiky hair, and my mind went blank.

"ah?!!!"

Chapter 1 My name is Rubik's Cube, and Obito Uchiha is my father.

Dave's cabin, the brain storage place

A small village in the land of water

A simply dressed boy with spiky hair packed his few faded clothes, said goodbye to the villagers who had taken good care of him and his mother, took one last look at the small house he had lived in for eight years, and left with his small bag of luggage.

Have you said goodbye yet?

A middle-aged man with white hair looked at the Rubik's Cube and said.

"Ah, I will come back someday."

Rubik's Cube resisted the urge to turn around and looked firmly at the tall man in front of him.

The middle-aged man gently rubbed his spiky hair with his large palm and said...

"You brat, what are you trying to show off at such a young age! But this is my disciple, Jiraiya-sama. Don't worry, he'll be back someday!"

"Ah."

Rubik's Cube is a time traveler. In his previous life, he was elbowed by a truck while saving a child on the side of the road. When he was about to die, he felt a golden light flash before his eyes. He thought he would become Ultraman to fight monsters, but he didn't expect to become Naruto and fight aliens in the arena.

Because he was reborn as a baby and majored in Japanese, he quickly adapted to the language and life of the ninja world over the past few years, and gradually figured out the current timeline.

Cube was born in Konoha in 48, two months older than Naruto and the same age as Sasuke. The ninja world is currently in a relatively peaceful period. Even in the Land of Water, which has a policy of blood mist, as long as one does not make a fuss, one can still live a peaceful life.

Incidentally, as far as Rubik's Cube knows, his mother, Chino Uzumaki, was less than 14 years old when she gave birth to him. Upon learning this, Rubik's Cube was almost speechless with shock and cursed his father, whom he had never met, as a complete idiot.

The Land of Water is surrounded by the sea, and most of the villagers make a living by fishing. Chino came to the village when she was about to give birth. At that time, the villagers felt very sorry for this girl who was pregnant at such a young age. With the help of the villagers, Chino successfully gave birth to the Rubik's Cube, and the mother and child lived there for 7 years.

For Rubik's Cube, these seven years have been very happy. Although life is tough, he is no longer alone like in his previous life. Although his mother is not even older than him combined in both his previous lives, he, who was an orphan in his previous life, can still feel the deep love from Chino. He has also accepted Chino as his mother from the bottom of his heart.

For some unknown reason, her mother, who was a member of the Uzumaki clan and had the iconic red hair, was in increasingly poor health, while she herself, with her black hair, seemed to have inherited the Uzumaki clan's constitution.

Whenever he asked about Chino, his mother would tell him that her health was deteriorating because of a childhood illness.

Everyone in the village said that when Zhi Nai first came to the village, her health was very poor, and it was a miracle that she was able to safely produce the Rubik's Cube.

Thanks to the physique of the Whirlpool Clan, Rubik's Cube, at only seven years old, surpassed many adults in physical strength. Knowing of his family's plight, the villagers often helped him.

Despite not having undergone chakra refinement training, thanks to the Uzumaki clan's physical strength, which was no less than that of an adult, and their mental fortitude from their previous life, Cube still managed to find work and barely support the mother and son.

Upon learning this, Zhi Nai felt both relieved and guilty, tears welling up in her eyes, but she eventually managed to hold them back through a combination of coaxing and cajoling from Rubik's Cube.

However, good times don't last long. Misfortune seems to target the poor. When Mofang was eight years old, Zhi Nai's body finally gave out. It was at this time that Mofang received the most shocking news since he traveled to this world.

The Rubik's Cube looked sadly at the weak Zhi Nai in front of it. Her originally rosy hair had gradually lost its luster due to the torment of illness, and her rosy and delicate face had become pale. Although her eyes were still as gentle as usual, they could not hide the deep weariness and reluctance.

Rubik's Cube knew that time was running out for the mother and son.

Zhi was the first to break the silence.

"Rubik's Cube, you've always been a sensible child, often more sensible than me. Sometimes I even feel like I've given birth to a little dad, haha..."

"Mom, I've told you so many times, you're not good at telling jokes."

He had intended to cooperate with Chino once, but he couldn't bring himself to smile.

Zhi Nai smiled softly and murmured.

"After all, Brother Fei is very good at telling jokes, and I always laugh out loud when I hear them. I thought Rubik's Cube would like it too. Am I just too stupid?"

"Hey? Brother Afei?"

Upon suddenly hearing the extraordinary name, Rubik's Cube froze completely.

"Yes, it's your father~"

Chino, oblivious to the Rubik's Cube's increasingly distorted expression, continued speaking to herself.

"I know, Rubik's Cube. Although you've never asked, you must also be curious about what kind of person your father was."

"No, I have thought about it, but it's not actually that important."

"When you see other people's children with their fathers, you must feel very envious."

"No, back then, the adults would hire me to help take care of their kids while they were at work. When they came back to pick up their kids, those little devils would grab me and not want to leave."

"Children should shut up when adults are talking! Don't you know what filial piety and righteousness mean?"

"You continue."

The Rubik's Cube wisely stopped its antics; it simply couldn't bear the somber atmosphere from before.

"Ahem, that happened when I was 12 years old..."

A smile appeared on Chino's face as she recalled the past.

When she was little, Chino lived with her parents in a small town in the Land of Water. Her father told her that they used to live in a country called the Land of Whirlpools. Her grandparents were both powerful ninjas, but the country was destroyed and they died in battle to cover her father's escape.

Because he was young, his father had to live on the run before he could learn ninjutsu. During his escape, his father came to a small town in the Land of Water and settled down there. A few years later, he met his mother, who had also fled there. Soon after, Chino was born.

The townspeople, with their limited knowledge, simply found the family's red hair quite unusual. Though there were occasional whispers, life remained peaceful. Chino grew up carefree until she was twelve, until the arrival of a group of Hidden Mist ninja shattered that tranquility.

The ninjas seemed to be carrying out a mission called the "Blood Mist Policy," referring to their family as a "filthy clan" possessing bloodline limits. Young Chino didn't understand what they were saying, only remembering her mother trembling and holding her tightly in her arms. Through the gap in her mother's arms, she saw in horror that her father was arguing agitatedly with the lead ninja.

Immediately afterwards, a blinding splash of bright red blood appeared—drops of blood landed on her face. It wasn't her father's blood, because she had seen the leading ninja slash off her father's head with his sword, and the blood hadn't sprayed in her direction.

She stiffly raised her head, only to see her mother still holding her tightly, but those eyes had lost all their light. It wasn't a ninja who killed her mother, but the neighbor and the town mayor who had brought the ninja. They stared intently at Chino lying in the pool of blood, their eyes filled with undisguised malice. The shock of her parents' gruesome deaths and this sudden, horrific scene caused the twelve-year-old girl to let out a desperate wail.

Just as the neighbor's butcher's knife was about to fall, a figure appeared like a ghost!

A man dressed in a black robe and wearing a white swirling mask actually parried the fatal blow with his bare hands! Then, he threw a punch, and the burly neighbor instantly exploded, turning into a cloud of blood mist...

Zhi Nai didn't know what happened after that. When she woke up, she found herself in a bed in a guesthouse, dressed in clean clothes. She instinctively looked for a reliable figure.

The sound of a door opening caught her attention.

"Oh my! You're awake already? I thought you'd sleep a little longer ^0^"

A comical sound broke the silence in the room.

The man wearing a white swirling mask spoke in a strange tone.

"You must be very confused right now, huh? Well, let me, Lord Tobi, explain the situation to you. Simply put, your parents are dead, and you're an orphan. I've also taken down those who killed your parents, as well as the ninja from Kirigakure. Aren't I amazing!"

After saying this, the man who called himself "Afei" put his hands on his hips, looking quite smug.

Whether it was my imagination or not, when this man named "Afei" mentioned the Hidden Mist ninjas, there seemed to be a hint of sinister intent in his playful tone.

Zhi Nai seemed to have been struck by the words "parents are dead," and remained stunned for a moment. Finally, heart-wrenching cries filled the small room once again.

Time slipped by unnoticed, and the setting sun painted its afterglow on the walls outside the window. Chino cautiously observed the mysterious figure beside her, who was idly counting on his fingers, and timidly asked, "You...you're a very powerful ninja, aren't you? Why...did you save me?"

"Afei" tilted his head, pretending to be deep in thought: "Hmm~~ If I had to say, it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing! After all, I was quite free at the time, and I really didn't like those guys from Wuyin, so I just 'dealt' with them!" He seemed to think this reason was quite convincing, and even struck what he thought was a cool pose.

"Taking away a person's life... is it just such an ordinary thing?" Chino's voice was filled with confusion and a hint of indescribable sadness.

"Afei" paused noticeably, his voice beneath the mask deepening: "Ah, in this ninja world... it's that simple."

…………

In the days that followed, Chino, now homeless, begged "Brother Fei" to take her with him. He neither explicitly agreed nor refused. So Chino followed him, traveling to many places and witnessing many things in life.

She had witnessed desperate parents in the barren lands of the Land of Wind, selling their own flesh and blood for a meager morsel of food to survive; she had seen the endless wars between small nations, where human lives were ruthlessly consumed like weeds; she had also encountered survivors of the Uzumaki clan, some still hiding and living in constant fear, others reduced to test subjects or tools of certain ninjas, yearning for death to escape their daily torment…

After a year of wandering, "Brother Fei" asked her a question: "Compared to this disgusting world, isn't the world in your dreams... more beautiful?"

Chino replied, "Perhaps... I prefer dreams to harsh reality. A few days ago, I dreamt of my parents... They asked me how I was doing. I said I was doing well, although I'm still weak, but Brother Fei takes good care of me... I wish I could talk to them more in my dreams... But then I woke up..."

After listening, Brother Fei remained silent for a long time. That night, he sat outside facing the moon all night. Zhi Nai hid behind the window, secretly watching his back. Perhaps it was her innate keen intuition, but she sensed that the moment of parting was approaching.

Their final journey took them back to the Land of Water, back to the town where Chino's childhood was intertwined with the burial of her parents.

However, the town of yesteryear no longer exists. It seems that it suffered a devastating disaster shortly after she left, with none of the original inhabitants surviving. The current residents are all migrants from elsewhere.

Before parting, "Brother Afei" left her enough money to live on, a book recording the method of chakra extraction, and several basic ninjutsu scrolls. However, Chino's physique was too weak. After barely extracting chakra and attempting to release a few ninjutsu, her body couldn't hold on any longer before she ran out of chakra and coughed up blood.

On the last night before "Brother Fei" was to leave, Zhi Nai mustered her courage and quietly slipped into his bed. She clumsily imitated the intimate gestures she had glimpsed of her parents in her memory. He was initially taken aback, seemingly wanting to push her away, but Zhi Nai preemptively nestled into his arms, their bare chests pressed tightly together. At that moment, she seemed to clearly feel each powerful beat of his chest. She felt that, at this moment, he had shed his usual comical facade, revealing his true self.

She slowly removed his mask, and he did not resist...

The night was deep, and she couldn't see his face clearly, but in the dim light, she glimpsed the eye peeking out from beneath the mask's holes—a scarlet eye, filled with sorrow and endless confusion. A surge of emotion overwhelmed her; she could no longer restrain herself and, trembling, met his lips. Her consciousness, like their intertwined bodies, sank into darkness. When she awoke again, the pillow beside her was empty.

Not long after, Chino discovered she was pregnant. Before the joy of becoming a mother could fully blossom, disaster struck. Lacking proper ninja training, she neglected the ninjas' formidable intelligence-tracking capabilities.

The Hidden Mist's pursuers, following the traces she left while training ninjutsu in the forest, found her again in the town. She was hunted down as a Konoha spy. After a fierce battle, the severely injured Chino managed to escape and eventually ended up in this seaside fishing village.

She eventually gave up her identity as a ninja, stopped training in chakra and ninjutsu, and lived in anonymity like an ordinary fishing village woman.

"My mother has been very happy living here for the past eight years..."

Chino's voice grew softer and softer, like a candle flickering in the wind, while Rubik's Cube's sobs became increasingly difficult to suppress.

"If... I can see Brother Afei again... I must tell him." Her eyes gazed tenderly at her son, as if she wanted to etch his image into her soul.

"The world of dreams... though beautiful, is forever lost... the future... I still miss my mom and dad so much... but..." Her breath became extremely weak, and every word seemed to be uttered with the last of her strength.

"Watching you grow up day by day, from a tiny little sprout that needed me to breastfeed... to the little man who can take care of me now, I truly... feel... incredibly... happy..."

Zhi Nai's voice was as faint as a whisper, until it was almost inaudible. With all her remaining strength, she trembled and raised her withered hand to gently stroke her son's tear-streaked face one last time, her gaze locking onto his eyes:

"Your eyes... are just like your father's... filled with sorrow... and pain. Promise Mom, this is... the last time... never again... look like that."

From now on... I must eat well... Don't neglect myself... Take care of my health... Don't end up like my mother... dying young...

You must...become a strong, healthy man like your father...and live happily...to be over a hundred years old..."

Looking at the child who was already sobbing uncontrollably, Chino's eyes finally filled with tears, which slid down her pale cheeks.

"The book on chakra extraction... and those... ninjutsu scrolls... I put them all in... the bottom drawer of the medicine cabinet..."

Her voice was almost a whisper, "Whether you choose... to become a ninja... or just want to... be an ordinary person... Mom... will respect your choice..."

Her eyes began to glaze over, the light of her life rapidly fading, only her loving gaze remained burning brightly, "But...no matter...whatever you become...I will...always...deeply...love you..."

The last trace of a smile froze on Chino's lips as she slowly, forever closed her eyes.

The Rubik's Cube didn't know how to express its feelings. It gazed at the familiar crimson eyes in the mirror, a tug-of-war of emotions raging within it, finally coalescing into a single word.

"Blanching!!!!!"

Author's Supplement

As those who have read Chapter 1 probably already know, yes, the protagonist is Obito's biological son, and he did it.

The reason I wrote it this way is because it's eye-catching enough. Don't hit me! I like to tell the truth, my friends.

Of course! As a long-time viewer who has been watching Naruto since I was six or seven, writing haphazardly is impossible; that's the bottom line! As a fan fiction creator and viewer, I will do my best to ensure that the characters I create are consistent with the original work and try my best to avoid being out of character.

Attentive readers may have already noticed that I deliberately placed the protagonist's birth during the time Obito was traveling the world after Rin's death. This is because Obito's experience was only briefly mentioned in the original work, and the author found that there was a lot of room for maneuver here, so he arranged this part of the plot.

Personally, I think a big reason for the disjointed character development of Obito is that Kishimoto completely neglected this part of Obito's story. If this part of the story had been written well, it could have elevated Obito's character to a whole new level. But as we all know, the result was that Obito's imprisonment and Kamui couldn't hide his tears.

Therefore, I hope to use Obito's thoughts on peace as the core of the character's portrayal in the later plot. Of course, his sense of guilt towards Rin after discovering the protagonist's identity is also part of that.

I'm really tired of seeing all those stories where even divine power can't hide tears, so I wanted to write something different.

The understanding of peace and the means to achieve dreams are also among the many conflicts between this father and son in the future plot.

Another reason for setting the protagonist's birth during Obito's era is to fit the character design.

That's right, it fits the character's persona, so don't criticize yet! Of course I know how deep Obito's love for Rin is, but it is precisely for this reason that I believe that Obito in other periods would never have done such a repressed thing. I also believe that even if Obito were secretly doing a dojo in the Kamui dimension, he would never have betrayed Rin (in my opinion).
