I'm having fun in Tokyo

"Thank you for reminding me, Odajima-san. I'll go check how many fish are left. Would you like to come in and sit for a while?"
"I'll just sit for a while," Yoshimitsu Odajima shook his head, glancing at the black cat on the wall.
“I just came back from the temple and have to go home. This cat is also squatting on the wall of your yard, staring at me. It’s really creepy.”
"Hahaha, it's just a cat, Otajima-san, why are you afraid of it?"
The man chuckled on the phone, while footsteps in the yard grew closer, making a rustling sound.
Yoshimitsu Odajima gripped his phone tightly and glanced at the black cat on the wall.
It turned around, tail drooping, looking at the other side of the courtyard wall, tensing its body, and emitting a threatening growl.
A dark object was immediately thrown out from over the courtyard wall and hit the black cat.
It tumbled over and fell to the ground, glanced at Odajima, tucked its tail between its legs, and ran along the corner of the wall, quickly disappearing around the bend.
Yoshimitsu Odajima breathed a sigh of relief and shone the light on the thrown object, discovering it was a shoe, albeit with some blood on it.
He picked it up and heard the sound of a door opening behind him.
Arai stood at the doorway, one hand on the door.
He was wearing a shoe on one foot and a sock on the other, and he smiled at Yoshimitsu Odajima.
"Could you please give me the shoes, Mr. Odajima?"
"Since I didn't have anything handy, I threw my shoe at the cat."
"Ah."
Yoshimitsu Odajima nodded and walked toward Arai, who was standing at the door.
He hadn't taken more than two steps when he suddenly felt something sticky on his hands. Looking down, he realized it was blood from his shoes that had gotten on his hands.
A cool breeze blew by, and the smell of blood in his nose suddenly became stronger, making his heart suddenly feel cold.
He glanced at Arai and noticed that Arai's smile seemed somewhat apologetic.
"Is there blood on my shoes? That stinky cat ate almost half of the fish in my yard, and chewed up the rest, leaving blood all over the ground. I accidentally stepped in some too."
"Did you get your hands on it?"
"Come to my place to wash it first, otherwise it will be difficult to wash once it dries."
As Arai spoke, he waved again.
Yoshimitsu Odajima subconsciously shook his head and stopped in his tracks.
"No, no, we're almost home. It'll be the same if I shower when I get there."
As he spoke, he threw the shoe in his hand toward Arai.
Arai held onto the door and reached out to grab the shoes.
He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he saw Arai sway slightly as he caught the shoe, and a black tail appeared behind him.
Odajima Yoshimitsu's pupils contracted slightly.
He stared blankly at Arai, his hands and feet slightly stiff, his mind filled with the image of the black cat that had been hit by the shoe and run away.
The black cat's tail was exactly the same as his.
"What's wrong, Odajima-san?"
Arai gave him a concerned look.
"nothing."
Yoshimitsu Odajima forced a smile, but felt a little flustered inside.
The moonlight, which had been bright just moments before, suddenly dimmed as thick clouds obscured it, making the night even darker.
Arai smiled, his eyebrows drooping, the smile appearing particularly eerie in the dim night.
"I...I'll head back now, Arai."
Odajima Yoshimitsu took a few steps back, looking back as he went, and finally jogged away in a flustered manner.
Arai stood behind the door, watching him leave, motionless.
The black cat that had just fallen off the wall and escaped from the corner reappeared at the corner and exchanged a glance with Arai.
It let out a cry, its pale green eyes gleaming eerily.
"Stop yelling and behave yourself."
"The magistrate only told us to keep an eye on him, not to kill him."
Arai stared coldly at the black cat.
“But he has already discovered us, otherwise he wouldn’t be so afraid.” The black cat spoke in a human voice, opened its mouth, and licked the blood from the corner of its mouth.
"Isn't that also your fault? If you hadn't been so hungry that you killed everyone in the family and couldn't suppress the smell of blood, he wouldn't have noticed anything amiss."
"Then what do we do? He's already realized something's wrong." The black cat stood up, its tail drooping behind it.
"He just sold the dojo to the target the adults mentioned. If he asks the target for help, we'll be exposed!"
"Ha, why are you so worried now? Why didn't you do this earlier?"
Arai strode out the door, his tail swaying slightly behind him: "My lord made a terrible mistake in making you my partner."
"I know you're powerful, alright!" The black cat's tone became irritable, and it looked up at the direction where Yoshimitsu Odajima had left, its eyes revealing a fierce glint.
"Alright, don't panic," Arai finally reassured it.
"He sold the dojo to the target, but it was handed over through another group of humans. He had little connection with the target."
"The adults asked us to keep an eye on such an ordinary person. I don't know what their reasoning was."
"Since it's a headache anyway, why not report the news to the adults and see what they decide?"
He glanced at the black cat again, his tone icy.
"However, don't expect me to cover up anything for your mistakes..."
The black cat's eyes narrowed, as if it were somewhat frightened.
Chapter 150 Asking for help
Arai snorted coldly and stopped looking at the black cat.
He turned his head, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the direction Odajima Yoshimitsu had left, and sighed inwardly.
Humans, I made it so obvious on purpose.
If you were even slightly smart, you would know to run away.
Run away quickly, it wouldn't be good to lose your life.
He turned around and went back into the courtyard, his body collapsing limply like a doll without support, a rustling sound echoing through the yard...
......
The night was deep, and Yoshimitsu Odajima ran quickly, slightly out of breath.
Seeing that he was almost home, he breathed a sigh of relief, but quickened his pace. When he reached the front door, he took out his key from his clothes, glanced back hurriedly, and then opened the door.
"I am back!"
He called out, his voice somewhat hurried.
"Welcome back, honey."
The voice of his wife, Yumiko Odajima, came from the entrance hall. She opened the door, looked at Yoshimitsu Odajima, and didn't quite understand why her husband was in such a panic.
But she immediately thought of the buyer of her husband's dojo and suddenly felt worried.
I heard those people are yakuza.
Could it be that those people didn't give my husband money and even threatened him?
"Husband, are you okay?"
Yumiko Odajima took her husband's hand, closed the entryway door, and looked at him with concern.
"I am fine."
Yoshimitsu Odajima waved his hand, a little sweat beading on his forehead.
Yumiko Odajima sighed, took a towel from the coat rack in the entryway behind her, stood on tiptoe to wipe his sweat, and said softly.
"How can you say you're alright when you're like this?"
"Are you being threatened by those yakuza?"
"No, that's not it." Yoshimitsu Odajima obediently accepted his wife's gentle service. "Those yakuza bosses are quite easy to talk to; they settled the final payment."
"On my way back, I went to the bank and deposited the money. It's still our old card, and all the money is in there."
"Then why are you like this?"
“I ran into a black cat near the Arai’s house.” Yoshimitsu Odajima’s eyes were a little scared. “That black cat was pretty strange, and there was blood around its mouth.”
“There was a bloody smell in Arai’s house, so I called Arai.”
"Arai came out and chased the cat away, but it looked like he had a tail behind him..."
"Don't talk about these things at night, it's kind of scary."
Yumiko Odajima covered her husband's mouth and shook her head.
"Katsuna is waiting for you in the living room. What if you scare her and she can't sleep tonight?"
Yoshimitsu Odajima was taken aback by what he heard. He looked towards the living room near the entrance and saw his daughter, Katsuna Odajima, peeking at him.
She seemed to have heard what he just said, and her cute little face turned a little pale.
"Dad! Is what you're saying true? Is it a monster? Dad encountered a monster on his way home!?"
Yoshimitsu Odajima and his wife exchanged a glance.
Yumiko Odajima pinched his arm and shook her head.
Her husband used to like scaring their daughter with stories about monsters, and he would tell her the legend of how Katsura's grandfather encountered a monster when he was young, fought the monster, and became a famous swordsman as a bedtime story.
However, those rumors seem to be far-fetched and concocted by others, a tactic used by the old man to recruit students for the dojo.
As a result, my daughter actually believed it and became afraid every night until she started elementary school.
"Yes, Daddy encountered a very scary monster that almost ate him. Katsura-chan almost lost her dad!"
Yoshimitsu Odajima scratched his head and made an exaggerated expression.
"Haha, Dad's lying!"
Katsura immediately calmed down and jogged over.
"The teacher also said that Dad is lying."
“My dad always scares me with monsters, but there are no monsters at all.”
"Yes, Dad is lying. There are no monsters at all."
Yoshimitsu Odajima squatted down, smiled at his daughter, and then looked back at his wife.
Yumiko Odajima touched her daughter's face and nudged his arm.
"You're back so late, the food's all cold. I'll go heat it up. You and Katsura can wait in the living room for a bit."
"Or you could go take a shower."
"Well, I see."
Yoshimitsu Odajima nodded, watching his wife walk towards the kitchen.
He and his daughter walked into the living room, and he looked down at her.
"Katsuna-chan, Daddy's going to take a shower."
"Uh-huh!"
Katsura nodded obediently and sat down on the sofa.
Yoshimitsu Odajima turned around and looked at the bloodstains on his hands, which were almost dry.
