To be honest, Xia Zhi is also very much looking forward to seeing who will be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year.

The weather is bad today—or rather, it was fine when I rode the Hogwarts Express before.

A light drizzle was falling outside.

The raindrops pounded against the train windows, and grew larger and larger.

In the distance, heavy, dark clouds stretched out in layers, with occasional rumbles of thunder.

Perhaps he was frightened by Xia Zhi's decisive act of striking the professor with lightning without saying a word, or perhaps he had been reminded by Snape.

Draco Malfoy won't bother Harry while the summer solstice is still here.

As everyone was eating, they suddenly noticed that the train was moving slower.

"Here we are?"

Hermione found it strange.

"There should still be some time, right?"

Suddenly, the sound of luggage falling over came from afar.

All the lights on the train were turned off.

"What's wrong? Has the train broken down?"

Ron's somewhat uneasy voice echoed in the darkness.

Xia Zhi knew that this was a Dementor coming to conduct an inspection.

His expression turned cold as he stepped out of the carriage.

"Something bad has probably happened. You all stay here and don't go out. I'll go check it out."

Hermione reminded her.

"be careful!"

In a typical horror movie, Xia Zhi would probably be the first one to die.

But here, he is the greatest terror in the world!

Not long after stepping out of the carriage, Xia Zhi saw the Dementors.

It was a monster draped in a black or gray robe, carrying a rotten, disgusting stench as if it had crawled out of a sewer.

Wherever it passed, many young wizards turned pale and fell silent, their happiness and joy sucked away.

Upon seeing the summer solstice, the Dementor immediately floated over.

But Xia Zhi suddenly raised her hand.

"Thunder in the Palm!"

Blinding lightning flashed in the pitch-black carriage. The extremely powerful and yang lightning struck the Dementor fiercely.

"hiss!!!"

The Dementor let out a painful cry and was blasted five or six meters away by the palm lightning.

The sound was like the wind blowing through rags, and it wasn't very pleasant.

The Dementor lay on the ground, seemingly seriously injured, unable to get up for a moment.

Xia Zhi walked over and stepped on it, discovering that there was actually a solid object under the gray rag.

Seeing that no one was around, Xia Zhi immediately extended a large number of blood-red tentacles from her feet, which devoured the Dementor in just a few seconds.

The next moment, a sharp glint flashed in Xia Zhi's eyes.

It seems that because of their habits, these Dementors possess a considerable amount of soul power.

It's incredibly nourishing!

Considering that these Dementors would be staying at Hogwarts and Hogsmeade for quite some time, a happy smile appeared on Xia Zhi's face.

It's time to deploy his snake-man disguise!

……

Back in the carriage, Hermione asked about the Summer Solstice.

"What happened outside?"

"It's summer solstice," Xia Zhi replied.

"It's nothing, it should be fine soon."

But this speed is actually not fast.

It seemed that because one of the Dementors had disappeared, the Dementors were puzzled and informed the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic.

"You mean you lost one?"

The Auror had never heard of Dementors being able to get lost before, and asked the Dementor leader with some curiosity.

"Did you miscount?"

The leader of the Dementors was also puzzled.

It guessed that perhaps some Dementor had absorbed too much positive emotion, got too high, and went out to play.

Seeing that it did not answer, the Auror made a decision.

"Let the train leave first. Then you can continue searching!"

Then the lights inside the train came back on, and the Hogwarts Express started moving again.

However, compared to before, the young wizards looked at each other with terrified expressions, and there was little joy in their eyes anymore.

Inside the Great Hall of Hogwarts, before the banquet began after the Sorting Ceremony, Dumbledore also mentioned this matter.

"I think many of you have already seen it on the train. Our school is currently hosting Dementors from Azkaban. They are here on official business for the Ministry of Magic."

Harry immediately realized that these Dementors were probably there to capture Sirius Black.

Many people, including the Ministry of Magic, believed that Black would come and kill him after his escape from Azkaban.

But Xia Zhi gave him a completely different answer.

Now that he's at school, Xia Zhi should tell him what exactly happened back then.

Harry was also puzzled: Wasn't Xia Zhi from China?

How does he know so many secrets that even Dumbledore seems to be unaware of?

Could this be the mysterious power from the East?

Chapter 318 Mad-Eye Moody

"Dementor?"

Like many young wizards, Ron looked incredulous upon hearing Dumbledore's words.

"The Ministry of Magic actually sent Dementors out on official business? Aren't they always in Azkaban?"

"Professor Dumbledore!"

While the young wizards were whispering amongst themselves, Xia Zhi stood up and attracted everyone's attention.

"What if the Dementors can't resist hurting us? We might be attacked by them in some remote corner."

“We’ve reached an agreement with the Ministry of Magic that Dementors will only be stationed at the various entrances and exits of Hogwarts, and they are strictly prohibited from entering the school.”

Dumbledore glanced at Harry beside Xia Zhi.

"So students, don't leave the school, not even through the secret passages. Dementors can see through everything, even invisibility cloaks. Don't give them an excuse to hurt you."

Xia Zhi spoke again.

"If we are attacked by Dementors, can we fight back?"

“That’s a very good question, Mr. Xia. I strictly forbid students from engaging in conflict with Dementors. They are extremely dangerous creatures.”

Dumbledore said very seriously.

"Most adult wizards are no match for Dementors; only a very few spells are effective against them. If anyone is attacked by a Dementor, the first priority is to ensure your own safety, and then notify me or another professor as soon as possible. Never think you can handle it on your own."

To outsiders, this was Dumbledore instructing Summer Solstice not to provoke the Dementors.

After all, having been struck by lightning twice in a row, he didn't seem like a well-behaved little wizard.

But Xia Zhi thought it was clearly Dumbledore giving him a secret signal.

First, don't actively seek out Dementors; maintain the moral high ground.

Secondly, you can retaliate after being attacked by a Dementor. Give it your all, don't hold back.

Finally, you must come to me or another professor to take sides and make the Ministry of Magic realize that it is in the wrong.

"I understand, Professor."

He nodded solemnly to Dumbledore and sat down.

Dumbledore looked at the quiet young wizards below and smiled again.

“Next, I would like to introduce two new professors. Professor Kettleburn, who taught the Conservation of Magical Creatures class, retired at the end of last year. The position will be filled by Rupert Hagrid, the gamekeeper.”

Clap clap clap!

Hagrid stood up from his seat. Aside from Slytherin, the other young wizards applauded respectfully.

Harry and Ron, in particular, were both happy that Hagrid would become a professor.

"Next up is our second professor, Alastor Moody, our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."

Mad-Eye Moody is a retired Auror, a good friend of Dumbledore, and a member of the first generation of the Order of the Phoenix.

Because of his long struggle against dark magic, he has many scars on his face and is missing an eye and a leg.

In particular, Moody installed a "magic eye" in his lost eye, which was not only not covered by his eyelid, but also moved constantly in its socket, making it look very frightening.

Mad-Eye Moody was originally supposed to be recruited by Dumbledore next year. However, Quirrell was struck dead by lightning on the summer solstice two years ago, and Lupin joined the party ahead of schedule. But later, it was discovered that he was a werewolf, and Dumbledore was unable to keep him.

In reality, Dumbledore didn't have many choices; he could only come up with a few characters from the original story.

Xia Zhi strongly suspects that over the years, Dumbledore may have searched for all his friends.

Everyone willing to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts came, but no one managed to teach the course for two consecutive years.

The question is whether this Moody is the real Moody, or, like in the original story, an imposter played by Buddy Crouch Jr.?

When Moody's terrifying image appeared before the young wizard, everyone was startled, and hardly anyone remembered to applaud.

He didn't seem to care, but instead scanned the student seats below with his two eyes, one big and one small, and nodded to the young wizards.

After the banquet, the young wizards returned to their respective academy lounges.

"Simmo grinned as he spoke."

"That's our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor? He looks really fierce!"

But some of the young wizards knew Moody and introduced him to everyone.

"That's Mad-Eye Moody, a very famous former Auror, who's retired now! Professor Dumbledore actually managed to find an Auror to be our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor!"

Immediately, many young wizards who wanted to become Aurors after graduation exclaimed in surprise.

Aurors are the police force of the wizarding world, a violent agency under the Ministry of Magic, who work on the front lines of the fight against dark wizards.

Having an experienced Auror, with both theoretical and practical expertise, as the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts is quite fitting.

Back in his dorm, Harry was exhausted but couldn't fall asleep.

He stared intently at Xia Zhi, his intentions quite clear.

"Fine, fine. I just can't do anything with you."

Xia Zhi shook her head slightly at Harry, then pointed.

"Collapse!"

A beam of white light shot out from his fingertip and hit Banban, who was standing next to Ron looking completely bewildered.

The giant rat never expected Xia Zhi to attack it. It was blown away with a bang and fainted in mid-air.
