Suddenly, a very slight "poof" sound rang out from Faith.

A crimson flame rapidly expanded, transforming into a twelve-petaled red lotus, which ignited beneath the seated believer.

The alluring crimson flames licked at the body of this faith-body, causing him to gradually melt away.

But instead of being alarmed, the summer solstice brought joy.

"Success!"

To transform from a demon into a Buddha, one must first use the fire of karma to burn away the karmic burden on one's body.

Xia Zhi was well aware of the weight of her karma.

Whether it's the previous demonic cultivation process or the evil nature of humanity, it can burn for ten or eight years without stopping, and seventy or eighty years is also foreseeable.

Being burned by the karmic fire of the red lotus not only causes physical pain, but also causes the spirit to fall into the cycle of reincarnation.

The amount of karma one carries is determined by experiencing the process of karma's creation during the summer solstice—from the perspective of a victim.

Without further hesitation, Xia Zhi leaped into it, becoming one with her faith.

At the same time, the remaining faith power around them was like kindling, thrown into the red lotus karmic fire, helping the summer solstice to transform.

The next moment, he experienced an endless hell.

His expression turned to one of unbearable pain, with all sorts of emotions—greed, anger, ignorance, love, and hate—appearing on Xia Zhi's face, distorting his features.

……

Time slowly passed amidst the painful transformation of the summer solstice.

One year, two years, five years, ten years...

As time passed, Xia Zhi's body, burned by karmic fire, transformed from solid to ethereal, gradually becoming transparent.

In the 49th year of the reign of Emperor Xia Zhi, a point of golden light was generated in the dantian of the summer solstice, shining like gold under the sun.

The golden light slowly increased in size over the years, and the objects within it took on irregular shapes, but they were also getting bigger.

Forty-nine years have passed, and Xia Zhi's body has become completely transparent, yet it shines brilliantly like crystal.

At the same time, a golden, round pearl floated on his dantian.

The Red Lotus Karmic Fire ignited Xia Zhi along with his karma, ultimately transforming into a relic of the Buddha.

As the karmic fire continued to burn, strands of golden Buddhist power flowed out from the Buddha Relic.

The Buddha's power filled Xia Zhi's transparent body, aiming to forge a King Buddha's crystal golden body.

In the last forty-nine years, Xia Zhi's spirit escaped from the boundless hell of karma and chanted the "Mahavairocana Sutra".

His karmic and evil power has been completely transformed into Buddha power and is operating according to the Dharma of the Great Sun Tathagata Sutra, forming a sixteen-foot golden body.

To outsiders, Xia Zhi can be described as "a disciple of Buddha, a direct descendant of the Buddhist sect".

One hundred and forty-eight years later, the summer solstice had completely transformed.

He touched his hair, which had been burned away by the fire of karma and would never grow back unless he went further, and couldn't help but sigh.

"I've gone bald, but I've also become stronger!"

After being tempered by the Red Lotus Karmic Fire for so many years, he finally broke through his current realm, transforming his demonic evil thoughts and magical power into pure Buddhist power. It is absolutely not an exaggeration to call him a Celestial King in this world.

"What good is a Celestial King? Above the heavens, they're nothing but cannon fodder. A Celestial Emperor might be more like it. It's much more effective to listen to the Buddha's sermons than to cultivate in this broken world."

Summer Solstice leaves the Pure Land of Buddhism in the South and puts the Buddhist kingdom away.

At this moment, he was inside the Great Thunder Temple.

The bricks and tiles of this ancient temple are still the same, but first, the Great Emperor's Dharma Formation set up by Amitabha Buddha was forced to retreat, and then his own Buddhist teachings were also knocked down by Xia Zhi. In just over a hundred years, it has become dilapidated.

Summer Solstice arrived at the ancient temple where she had stayed for three years and saw the ancient Buddha Maha.

Compared to 150 years ago, the face of the ancient Buddha Moksha looks much older.

Originally, his body was full of vital energy and blood, and although he was an old man, he was at his peak.

But now Moke has truly lost his spirit; he appears listless and his eyes have become cloudy.

The Great Thunderclap Temple was much less crowded. The destruction of Amitabha Buddha's teachings had a tremendous impact on the Great Thunderclap Temple, Mount Sumeru, and even the entire Western Desert.

Xia Zhi sensed it and discovered that the Western Desert, which originally only had Buddhist and Taoist traditions, was now filled with other Taoist traditions like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.

Inside the ancient temple, the ancient Buddha Maha was discussing Buddhist teachings with a handsome young monk.

When Xia Zhi entered, the ancient Buddha Moke was startled.

He wanted to say something, but quickly calmed himself down and just whispered.

“Amitabha. This humble monk has met the Buddha of the Southern Heaven, the King of Evil.”

In his view, since the summer solstice had appeared, it must mean that he had successfully attained enlightenment.

He shattered the path of Amitabha Buddha and became the second great emperor of the Buddhist sect, who was the only one worthy of respect, and was known as the Evil King Buddha of the Southern Heaven!

As a loser, he had nothing to say. He simply lived out his remaining years in a quiet temple, devoted to Buddhism.

But the young monk standing nearby saw Xia Zhi and his eyes lit up. He asked him a question.

"Amitabha! Who are you, you bald head? You look very powerful, but even Moke the bald head is not as good as you."

"Buddha Tathagata!"

Xia Zhi, mimicking sweeping leaves and picking flowers, smiled at the young monk.

"This humble monk is Xia Zhi. May I ask your Dharma name, Master?"

The young monk unconsciously made the same gesture as Xia Zhi and smiled in the same way.

"Buddha Tathagata. This humble monk is Hua Hua!"

A moment later, Hua Hua's skull glowed, breaking free from the impression of the summer solstice.

He looked at Xia Zhi with a terrified expression, jumped three feet high, and ran out the door in a flash.

"That Buddha Hua Hua! Baldy, you're too weird! I'm going!"

Chapter 396 Subduing the Great Peacock King

Hua Hua certainly didn't escape.

He had just run out of the ancient temple gate when he was grabbed and brought back by the ancient Buddha Moke.

Moksha Buddha showed an unexpected expression.

"Didn't you convert to Buddhism?"

He had previously converted Hua Hua for a hundred years, causing him to reveal many of his teachings.

With Amitabha Buddha now in decline, Moksha Buddha originally intended to use Hua Hua as the future Buddha to revitalize the Great Thunder Temple.

But looking at it today, it seems that's not the case!

Xia Zhi could spot the problem at a glance.

"He is protected by Buddhist treasures, and his mind is stable. Only great emperors and ancient kings can convert him."

Xia Zhi also discovered that Hua Hua had five thousand volumes of Buddhist scriptures inside her body, making her one person comparable to an ancient library of scriptures.

Moreover, these Buddhist scriptures are similar to Amitabha Buddha's teachings but not identical. They seem to have the same origin, but in fact they have broken away from the same source and have their own unique path, which is why they were not destroyed.

He immediately understood why the ancient Buddha Moksha had trapped Hua Hua, intending to convert her.

"Where did this Buddhist disciple come from? You want to use his Dharma to rebuild the Great Thunderclap Temple?"

The ancient Buddha Moke chanted a Buddhist prayer softly, and said helplessly.

“Amitabha. It was the old monk’s greed that caused my impurity of the six senses. I beg the Buddha to forgive me.”

As he spoke, another great sage approached, sensing Xia Zhi's presence.

Xia Zhi showed a somewhat strange expression.

More than a hundred years ago, there was only one great Buddhist saint in the Great Thunder Temple, Moksha Buddha. How come there is another one now?

He looked outside and saw that it was actually a rare female sage.

She had a dignified and solemn appearance, with piercing phoenix eyes and a divine and otherworldly aura.

Wearing a golden crown, a quasi-imperial artifact, with a precious Buddhist necklace around her neck, and dressed in a light white silk robe, her long black hair cascaded down like a waterfall.

His gaze flickered with a hint of arrogance, as he looked around.

Xia Zhi immediately recognized that this female sage's origins were those of a peacock.

"Peacock?"

Upon seeing this magnificent sage with a large chest, a slender waist, and long legs, Xia Zhi's eyes lit up.

"Buddha Tathagata! I'm just missing a mount. Excellent, excellent!"

When the Great Peacock King heard Xia Zhi say this, he was filled with rage and immediately lashed out.

"How brave!"

Five beams of colorful light appeared behind her, like a five-colored rainbow, sweeping towards Xia Zhi.

The five-colored light circled around Xia Zhi, yet it could not shake him in the slightest, which surprised the Great Peacock King.

"Who are you?"

At the same time, the golden crown on the head of the Great Peacock King radiated boundless Buddhist light, as if three thousand ancient Buddhas were chanting, releasing the power of a quasi-emperor.

In the dim light, the image of Buddha attaining enlightenment above seems to emerge from the golden crown and descend upon the summer solstice to suppress it.

Summer Solstice stretches out her right hand and gently pinches.

With a soft "poof," the chanting fell silent, and the Buddhist light receded. The golden crown was suppressed, becoming as ineffective as an ordinary headdress.

Then, Xia Zhi reached out and made a move on the Great Peacock King.

"Come!"

"Niao Ao!"

The Great Peacock King let out a mournful cry and retreated several steps, revealing its true form under the suppression of the powerful Buddhist force.

She was a giant peacock, over four meters long even without her tail feathers, with five-colored divine light emanating from her five tail feathers, changing the color of the sky.

Actually, the most beautiful peacocks are all male peacocks; female peacocks are not very good-looking, they just look like large gray-feathered hens.

However, the Great Peacock King possessed the Five Colors Divine Power, and the golden crown on his head also dyed the feathers on his head gold, and his tail feathers were as long and narrow as those of a male peacock.

Above it, there were five-colored rays of light, dazzling and dreamlike, yet incredibly powerful.

The peacock was subdued by the summer solstice, but it was still unwilling to give up.

Summer Solstice uses an old Buddhist method—conversion!

Seven golden wheels of merit appeared behind his head, and the seven layers of merit and Buddhist light shone on the peacock, forcibly changing her mind.

"Foolish child! The mortal world is full of suffering, why don't you wake up!"

"Niao Ao!"

The peacock let out another loud cry, took two steps forward, and bowed down.

Xia Zhi sat lightly on the peacock's back, grabbing a flower in one hand.

The peacock leaped forward a few steps, flapped its wings, and soared into the air, leaving a trail of rainbow light behind it.

Summer Solstice said to Moksha Buddha.

"I'll take this Buddhist disciple with me. If we want to revitalize the Great Thunderclap Temple, why not let the ancient Buddha create his own methods? Why force others to do it? Amitabha!"

In front of the ancient temple, the ancient Buddha of Maha stood dumbfounded.

"The Great Peacock King is a supreme sage from the Amitabha Star Region, and he's been converted? How am I supposed to explain this to them?!"

……

At this moment, Ye Fan had already broken through the ancient star road and descended to the Big Dipper.

He first defeated the Golden Crow Clan's Great Sage, rescuing his disciple Ye Tong, the Sun Saint Body, and his old acquaintance Jiang Tingting. Then he prepared to attack Mount Sumeru to rescue his disciple Hua Hua.

A group of his old friends also responded.
