The moment I opened the door, I knew the intelligence was absolutely wrong.

Candy is far more than just Safe.

P.S.: The naming rules for the witches in this book are different from those in Madoka Magica and Madoka Magica Chronicle. They will be named according to the singer/band/song title/album title. Guess what Xiao Xiang's witch name is?

The Tale of Nirvana: Where Did You Sleep Last Night: Chapter 4 - Becoming Delicious

Behind the door to Class 3E is not a classroom, but a much larger space.

A magical power far exceeding the Safe level erupted from the world of crayon drawings, lifting Xiangzi's hair.

What did she see?

Grass, trees, sky, wildflowers, kites, and simple line drawings of people—the world behind the door is a landscape painting, a landscape drawn with crayons. The main theme is the blue sky and white clouds of Windows XP, and the rough crayon marks form the space behind the door.

Three simple line drawings of figures were hanging from a tree in the distance. After Xiangzi opened the door, the figures hanging from the tree fell to the ground and climbed towards Xiangzi.

At first, there were only three simple line drawings that could barely be made out as human figures. As they got closer, the figures gradually increased to six, then twelve, and in just a few steps they became a densely packed group. The dark crayon-drawn figures replaced the green grass and became the main color of the picture.

They are the bullies killed by candy, hung from trees, tasting the pain that candy once suffered.

They are the familiars of candy, the demons of candy.

They are the candy's craving for abuse.

The witch's voice appeared directly in my mind, in the form of witch script.

Seriously, I'm speechless. Anyone who just glances at this page would notice something's wrong. The rating system is so arbitrary; it's going to ruin so many people. I'm just...sigh.

Xiangzi muttered to himself for a long time, then took one last look at the status of the Soul Gem before walking into the classroom of Class 3-E.

Frequent gunshots rang out from behind the door, mixed with the sounds of explosions and flesh tearing apart.

Every time Xiangzi pulled the trigger, he could see a simple line drawing of a human figure being blasted to pieces by the bullet, the dark lines exploding to reveal the flesh and blood inside.

The human body drawn with crayons naturally contains crayon-drawn internal organs. These internal organs have the smell of crayons and the stench of blood. When they fall onto the ground, they make the sounds of chunks of meat and crayons falling to the ground.

Even Xiangzi herself adopted a crayon drawing style, only she was more refined than the rest of the space and those sloppy familiars.

The gunfire behind the door quickly stopped. Xiangzi was covered in crayon drawings of internal organs, his whole body stained blood red, and the ground was covered with unidentified red and black objects.

"Familiars, there are quite a few of them."

"What incredible luck! Everything I say comes true, tsk tsk."

Xiangzi gave a self-deprecating snort, raised his wrist, and checked the state of his Soul Gem. The level of filth in the Soul Gem had visibly increased slightly, but it hadn't reached the point of being insufficient to cover his expenses.

A deep blue soul gem was set in the wristband, the filth and impurities inside were very obvious, taking up nearly half of it, and a hideous crack ran through the entire gem.

A faint blue light seemed to be flowing out of the crack.

She's in such great shape, it couldn't be better.

Kyubey extracted the magical girl's soul from her body and stored it in the Soul Gem. You could say the Soul Gem is her body; anything can happen to her body except the Soul Gem.

It now has an ugly crack, and something is slowly flowing out of it—isn't that its own soul?

What happens when the soul is lost?

The increased consumption of magic power and the decreased purification ability of the Seed of Lamentation, are there any other side effects? Xiangzi hasn't been able to find out yet, and she doesn't even know if she'll live to find out.

“I know what you’re thinking, Toyokawa Shoko. The shattering of the Soul Gem is irreversible. You only have two endings: death or becoming a witch.”

It popped out from the corner of the corridor and jumped onto Xiangzi's shoulder.

"If you become a Seed of Lamentation, your soul won't run away. I suggest you become a witch instead, so that your energy won't be wasted."

Xiangzi silently grabbed Qiu Bi by the back of the neck and threw him to the ground, pointed the gun at the ground, and pulled the trigger.

With a muffled thud, Cupid's body was blasted into a tattered sack by the 20 lead pellets inside the bullet.

"I'm tired of hearing that."

Another chubby emerged, ate the corpse on the ground, raised its head, and licked its lips.

"You humans are always like this, you never listen to what's right. I'm trying to see things from your perspective, you should at least listen to me."

The gunshots seemed to have alerted the witch's familiars, the crayon figures.

"From my perspective?"

Xiangzi stepped on Qubi's head and pressed the muzzle of his gun against its head.

"From my perspective, you should work as my customer service representative for eight hours a day, and after get off work run all over the city looking for these low-level witches, exchanging the Seed of Sorrow for the right to see the sun tomorrow."

She pulled the trigger, giving the last bullet in the chamber to Cupid.

"From my perspective, I should be thinking about how to survive."

Seeing Kyubey's body shatter, she felt the same sense of release as when she slaughtered familiars.

“If you’re really just trying to survive, then you shouldn’t have quit Crychic.” Kyubey came out again. “Four people are always more efficient than one, and the quality of the Grief Seeds they get is also much better than these weak ones… The Grief Seeds dropped by the Safe-class witches in Reed Plains are much better.”

It tilted its head, its jewel-like eyes staring straight at Xiangzi.

Why did you leave the band?

The incubators are creations of an alien civilization. They created technology that can convert emotions into energy, but the entire race does not have the concept of emotion. In their culture, "emotion" is a very extreme form of mental illness.

Prioritizing interests, prioritizing rationality, and considering the overall picture—this is Kewpie's way of thinking.

It certainly couldn't understand what Xiangzi was thinking.

To be precise, even Xiangzi himself couldn't understand it.

"none of your business."

Xiangzi walked past Qiubi and headed deeper into the witch's barrier.

"I have work to do, don't bother me."

"The amount of energy that bursts forth the moment a magical girl hatches into a witch depends on the amount of cause and effect she carries, and the richness of her emotions also has an impact. The richness of emotions in underage female humans is the highest, but in fact, mentally ill people can also provide us with a lot of energy. Of course, it would be best if the girl has a mental illness."

Qubi followed Xiangzi's footsteps, maintaining a relatively safe distance, and continued his long-winded discourse.

"You humans have achieved a remarkably high productivity since entering the 21st century, perhaps related to increased social pressure and the prevalence of mental illness, such as depression, bipolar disorder, paranoia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder..."

Xiangzi stopped and turned around, unable to bear it any longer.

"what do you want to say in the end."

“Originally, you didn’t have much magical girl potential, and your karma wasn’t exactly outstanding. But now we’ve changed that assessment. To put it in more emotional terms, it’s like this:” Kyubey licked his lips, “Toyokawa Shoko, you’re gradually becoming more delicious.”

The Tale of Nirvana: Where Did You Sleep Last Night? Chapter 5

"I'm not sick," Xiangzi said calmly. "I don't have the luxury of being sick, so I'm not sick. Even if I were sick, I would have to be healthy."

Cupid stared at her and said slowly:

"While I'm happy to hear you think that way, from your perspective, leaving an illness untreated could lead to—"

Xiangzi pulled the trigger immediately.

The shotgun clicked, and Cupid was sitting perfectly fine in front of him. Its expression was exactly the same as when Xiangzi first met it, unchanged, yet it seemed to be smiling.

"—It will develop to an irreversible point."

"Tsk."

Xiangzi lowered his head, retrieved a few more bullets, loaded them one by one, and then aimed the gun at Qiu Bi.

"Think carefully before you fire," Kyubey said. "Reproducing bullets also consumes magic. How long can your Soul Gem last? I don't think it's wise to waste magic on pointless things."

Xiangzi was once a very civilized person. Her family was wealthy, and she received a good education. She believed that language was a very elegant art, and that vulgar language was the lowest of the low. She thought that a person with self-respect should not use foul language all the time.

It wasn't until she started working as a customer service representative that she witnessed the diversity of the "human" species.

In that instant, countless chat boxes from the conversation with the customer flashed through my mind, all sorts of insults ran through my brain, and a set of tactics from the other side of the sea, with my mother as the center and my ancestors for eighteen generations as the radius, even took shape.

But then I thought, what's the point of scolding them?

Kewpie is probably the most shameless creature in the world.

Xiangzi stared at Qiu Bi, then gradually calmed down.

“You still have your senses, very—” Cupid said.

boom!

Kyubey's headless body lay limply on the pile of corpses drawn with crayons.

Xiangzi looked relaxed, let out a long sigh, and loaded the bullets.

"I take back what I just said. I really still can't understand humans."

The new Kyubey appears in a crude crayon drawing style, eats the original corpse, shakes himself off, and gets rid of the crayon drawings on his body.

"Toyokawa Shoko, in your words, we're at work right now, and you can't be distracted when you're working."

Xiangzi ignored her and turned to kill the two familiars that pounced on him.

The familiars around him continued to fall from the trees, surrounding him.

Candy seems unhappy. When it was still human, it was invisible its whole life. After becoming a witch, it no longer wanted to be ignored.

A few crayons fell from the sky and started drawing in the blank spaces.

【I am the angry heart of Asagiri.】 This is crimson.

Xiangzi broke a few crayons with his shotgun, but more crayons fell from the sky, and the drawing speed increased, soon taking shape.

【I am the jealous heart of Asagiri.】 This is bright yellow.

It was a brightly colored umbrella, if Xiangzi wasn't mistaken.

【I am the heart filled with the hatred of Asagiri.】 This is a jumble of colors mixed together.

The main part of the umbrella canopy is black, covered with various triangular patterns in different colors. The handle is an upside-down human figure, or at least a human figure, since it's drawn in a very rough sketch.

I am Asagiri, with the heart of a witch.

The witch appeared, her enormous canopy almost completely covering the blue sky and white clouds. Xiangzi was completely enveloped in shadow, and the concentration of magic within the barrier rose once again. This time, it not only exceeded Safe but had long since crossed the Normal line and was heading straight for Hard.

Xiangzi tilted his head back and swallowed.

She had already anticipated this.

"Damn it, it's much stronger than we expected." Qubi jumped onto Xiangzi's shoulder. "This is something one person can't handle anymore, run!"

"I know it without you having to tell me!"

Xiangzi turned and ran toward the gate of Class 3E.

"Why did you jump up here? You're in the way!"

She ran while trying to pull Cupid down.

"I have a lot of body parts, but I can't just waste them."

"Is this the time to discuss whether or not it's wasteful?!"

"..."

Qubi didn't reply. Xiangzi felt a lightness on her shoulder. She glanced at her shoulder out of the corner of her eye and found that Qubi had disappeared at some point. Moreover, her body felt very light, and she needed to exert less force when her feet touched the ground.

So light, it feels like it could fly...

wrong!

Xiangzi now knew how Kyubey had disappeared! She was really about to fly away, and not only her, but the familiars and their corpses around her had already taken off, flying towards the umbrella-shaped witch's canopy behind them.

The source of attraction is candy, and the umbrella's canopy seems to want to suck everything on the ground in.

The sound of saw teeth turning came from under the umbrella. Some of the still-living familiars were sucked into the space under the umbrella, letting out ear-piercing screams, accompanied by the tooth-grinding sound of flesh and bone being torn apart, before the screams came to an abrupt end.

"No no no no no no no no—"

Xiangzi pulled out a mountaineering manuscript again and smashed it into the lines between the strokes at his feet, trapping himself on the ground and barely managing to avoid being sucked in by the huge suction force coming from behind.

Her heart began to pound, and when she looked back at the candy, she noticed that it had grown even larger after eating several familiars.

Xiangzi recreated a scene where a climbing rope was tied around his waist, with the other end connected to a climbing axe, as he slowly climbed toward the classroom door of Class 3-E. The candy behind him was getting closer and closer, and its allure became more and more exaggerated.
