But armor is different.
It's not like you can just replace it as soon as it's damaged. You have to hand over the damaged set first before you can deliver the new one.
If it is truly impossible to provide, a written report personally signed by the company commander is required.
This was all to prevent the Knights' armor from being leaked.
"You're not wrong to say that. The First Company is the elite company of each battalion. Whenever there's a tough nut to crack, you'll see them. Their strength is indeed a level above other companies."
“Including their squadron leader, Sain, whose strength is also the strongest among all the squadron leaders of the three battalions,” Field explained.
"How does it compare to Samif?"
Samif held a transcendent position within the Knights. Vena was still quite curious about the exact level of her strength.
"Well, compared to the squad leader, they each have their own strengths." Field didn't expect Wiener to ask such a question, and finally chose an answer that wouldn't offend either side.
"How does Captain Sain compare to the elite captains of the other two battalions?"
“The overall strength of the Third Battalion is slightly weaker than the other two battalions, but Squadron Leader Sain is the strongest of the three,” Field replied.
Upon receiving the answer, Venere felt much more at ease.
The bandits entrenched in Kunji Village probably never imagined that there would be a second captain-level figure at the foot of the mountain to oversee them.
After the quartermaster of the first company, along with a squad of knights, spent twenty minutes unloading the supplies, Sein and Vandley finally emerged from the tent.
"Thank you for the intelligence you provided; it's very useful to us. You must be tired from your journey. If you don't have anything urgent, you might as well rest here for a while."
“We have four hours to rest, just find us a tent,” Van der Ley replied.
"Krank, how long will it take for these supplies to be distributed?" Sein asked his quartermaster.
"A quarter of an hour, Captain."
"Then find a place for the logistics team to rest first. Then pass on my order: have everyone familiarize themselves with the newly acquired equipment as soon as possible, and launch the attack in one hour," Sein instructed.
"Yes. Please proceed, everyone."
After checking the documents, Krank led the group to a tent, leaving them with the words "If you need anything, you can contact me" before continuing to carry out Sein's orders.
The tent was simply furnished, with only a few stools and two cots. It looked like a tent used for changing shifts.
"Should we provide support to the First Company during the attack?"
After distributing the stools to the group, Wiener asked.
“No need,” Fieldsher replied after a moment. “The logistics unit and the first company each have their own duties. Our mission is over.”
"You've already made weapons and armor for others, are you going to personally go and help them?" Anna's words were even more blunt.
“Hehe, Anna is right. Captain Sain will take the intelligence we brought into account,” Field chuckled.
“If even Sein can’t solve this problem, then only Samif can probably help, so kid, you don’t need to worry too much.” Vandley was the most qualified to speak on this matter.
"Instead of wasting your time worrying about this, you should come and change my dressing," Julian said irritably.
"Julian, there are girls here, be mindful of your behavior," Field advised.
“The situation was already urgent last night, but it’s different now. Come on, I’ll take you out to find their first squadron’s team doctor.”
He then pulled Julian out of the tent.
Wiener noticed that, out of the entire Miku squad, it seemed like she was the only one who was nervous.
I can't tell if I'm just worrying unnecessarily, or if the First Squadron is really that strong.
“…Never mind. Just bring out some of the equipment that hasn’t been repaired yet.” Vena reached out to Anna, asking for some.
"Aren't you going to rest?"
Anna, who had already kicked off her heavy combat boots and was sitting on the cot, looked at Vina with a surprised expression.
“How can doing what you love not be considered rest?” Wiener retorted.
"as long as you are happy."
Anna then reached for the storage ring on her chest.
"You want to see how the First Company operates?"
A figure suddenly appeared inside the tent; it was Samif, who had just left.
"Yes." Viner nodded honestly.
After all, equipment can be repaired at any time, but a grand spectacle like this is not something you can see every day.
"Then follow me."
Chapter 187 Single-handed Charge
Samif led him away from the First Company's post in a swaggering manner.
They passed by patrolling knights and sentries several times, but the men seemed not to see them at all, which made Vina very curious.
Before leaving, Samif asked Vina to find a horse, saying that otherwise they would not be able to keep up. Vina then found the little horse guarding outside the camp.
"Sniffle, Brother Ma."
"Tsk, he's ignoring me now. Little Ma, come on, are you full? If you are, I'll take you for a walk."
"Vina called out softly."
Little Ma heard Vina's voice, but when he turned his head, he couldn't see Vina anywhere.
Then it sniffed hard and quickly ran to Vina.
"Looks like it's not without flaws after all," Viner said, reaching out to pat Little Ma's head.
Samif can affect the reflection of light, thus achieving a near-invisibility effect.
However, this ability doesn't completely disappear. Exposure can still occur through sound, smell, and many other factors.
After countless days and nights of training, Samif has mastered the art of concealing her physical characteristics to an undetectable degree. Even a person standing here would seem as if they were air.
Wiener, however, did not possess that ability.
“That’s your own problem,” Samif pointed out. “You smell too strongly.”
"Manly smell?" Viner sniffed himself and only smelled a slight body odor.
"Like dried meat marinated in medicine," Samif said as a metaphor.
As if to prove her point, Little Ma stuck out his tongue and licked Vina's face without any hesitation.
Unbeknownst to Viner, this meant that the effects of the secret medicine had begun to transfer from the spleen and other internal organs to the surface of the body.
"Alright, alright, stop fooling around."
Vina pressed down on Little Ma's head, then mounted her horse and asked Samif, "Where are we going now?"
"Go to higher ground."
………………
Samif led the way, winding and turning until they reached a mountain peak.
If it weren't for Little Ma's effortless movement, Vina alone really wouldn't have been able to keep up with Samif's speed.
From this vantage point, you can see the First Company's barracks and the gate of Kunji Village.
"So you came here looking for a high vantage point?" Vena finally understood what Samif had been doing during the time she disappeared.
“If I were them, I wouldn’t have missed this spot,” Samif replied.
Although the layout of Kunji Village cannot be clearly seen from here, the entire movement of the Knights' encampment can be seen without any obstruction, and its strategic value is self-evident.
When Samif discovered this place, there were no signs of anyone else having been there.
It seems that these thieves are not as troublesome as I had imagined.
Just as the two were talking, the entire squadron had completed its assembly.
Apart from the necessary personnel stationed there, the rest of the people were divided into six teams.
"By the way, you can see clearly, right?" Samif suddenly thought.
Although this is an excellent observation point, it is a kilometer away from the First Squadron's base in a straight line, making it like looking at flowers through a fog for the average person.
Only a sniper with exceptional eyesight can see clearly what's happening down there.
This is also why no one has been watching this place.
“I can get a general idea,” Wiener replied.
As the medication was absorbed, Wiener's eyesight improved considerably.
“Those five teams should be the original members of the First Company, but the remaining one looks like—” Viner pointed out.
"They are students assigned to the first squadron."
"Why weren't they divided into different classes, but instead gathered together?"
"The time was too short for them to integrate into the team. Even if they were forcibly incorporated, they would only hold the team back and affect the performance of the First Company. So we put them together."
"But judging from this trend, it seems that they are preparing to send these people to pave the way."
"I want to teach these newbies a lesson. Otherwise, do they really think this two-week vacation is for them?" Samif replied.
"Stop talking so much, just watch."
-----------------
Sain rode his horse to the very front of the entire knightly order.
There was no need to shout or try to persuade them to surrender; his mission in bringing his team here was singular: to wipe out all the bandits within Kunji Village.
With a wave of his hand, a tall, strong knight stepped out from the ranks behind Sain.
The tall, strong knight dismounted, holding a huge meteor hammer in his hand.
He first stepped past Sain's position, then accelerated, stopped, spun rapidly in place, and hurled the meteor hammer in his hand.
"boom!"
A huge hole was blasted in the gate of Kunji Village, and the deafening sound even reached Vina's ears.
The dilapidated gate could no longer hinder the knights' attack, and with the knights taking the initiative, the bandits inside the village gave up their last shred of hope.
"This is outrageous!" "Let's fight them!"
A dark mass of bandits surged out from behind the broken gate like a tide.
Their numbers gave them the courage to charge, causing them to overlook that their opponent was one of the most elite forces on the entire continent.
But if courage alone could rewrite their destiny, they wouldn't have ended up in this situation.
It is currently unclear how many Emblem Envoys are in Kunji Village, but the majority of the population consists of these rabble gathered from various places.
Sain immediately recognized that these people were nothing more than cannon fodder sent by the other side, and waved his hand to order: "Send the sixth team up."
The sixth team was a new recruit team composed of college students, numbering twenty.
Cavalry should have been able to crush infantry, but most of these twenty new recruits chose to dismount after receiving orders.
“Uh…” Viner was speechless as she watched from the mountaintop.
He finally understood what Samif had said.
Combining riding and footwork in such a narrow space would be a recipe for disaster.
The current curriculum for first-year students does not include any content on mounted combat.
Those still riding on horseback were almost all noble students who had received relevant training.
If Venner were on the sidelines right now, he would most likely have done the same thing by dismounting.
"Hahaha!"
Some of the bandits even laughed when they saw the enemy dismount as they prepared to meet the charge.
Everyone knew that they would die if they faced the Holy Knights.
But perhaps these greenhorns who can't even ride a horse have a sliver of hope?
