Her voice carried a hint of emotion, even a touch of apology.
Even the ruthless Samif couldn't help but feel ashamed for having treated Vina as a suspect.
“I personally selected Viner for the Silver Wolf Class!” Jessica said, slightly displeased.
Samif didn't care about Jessica's little mood and cut to the chase again: "How long will the trial last?"
“Vina’s trial is a bit special, and I can’t predict the exact time.” Jessica shook her head, her tone thoughtful. “However, I do hope he can last longer; the more he can benefit from it.”
“In that case, I will send Julian to keep in touch with you,” Samif said decisively.
The Holy Sword matter is on track, and she needs to shift more of her energy to other matters.
“Okay.” Jessica understood how heavy the burden Samif had been on her shoulders during this time.
“I will pass on the news to Tilisa,” Samif added at the end. “If she finishes dealing with the demons on her end and things aren’t over here, she might detour to come and take a look.”
"Thank you for your help," Jessica said gratefully.

"So that's it..."
Wiener suddenly had a sudden realization, as if he had grasped some key point in fragments of hundreds of battles.
He extended his finger, and a sword aura quietly condensed at his fingertip.
This is the pure sword energy he condensed entirely from his own body, without relying on weapons or emblems.
There were no sudden changes in the heavens and earth, nor a surge in energy; everything seemed to happen naturally.
Who says you can't solve a problem to become a Sword Saint?
"Oh, congratulations on breaking through to the Sword Saint realm." Escudo looked up at Vina.
"This is all thanks to you, Little E, otherwise I wouldn't have broken through so easily." Vina rubbed Escdo's head.
"It's nothing. After all, he's going to be my master. It would be too embarrassing if he didn't even reach the Sword Saint realm." Escudo narrowed his eyes, seemingly enjoying his caress. "Want to watch more?"
"Yes, but I need to prepare more things."
Vena pulled out a large number of longswords from his ring and casually laid them out on the ground.
These swords were auxiliary swords he forged for the Seven Star Sword.
The sword formation that I couldn't control before due to insufficient swordsmanship should now come in handy.
"Let's continue." Viner refocused her gaze on the fierce battle ahead.
Chapter 569 Ambush in the Town
Kingdom of Fasga, Sudori Town.
A man dressed as a hunter stood before Tilisa and bowed deeply to her.
"I never expected that Lady Tissa would come in person."
His voice was respectful yet dignified, and his demeanor when bowing was quite different from that of an ordinary villager.
"Your Excellency is too kind," Tissa nodded slightly in return. "I'm not too late, am I?"
Judging by appearance alone, who could associate this unassuming man in plain hunting attire with a noble marquis?
These are all disguises to avoid alerting the demon.
“Not at all, Lady Tilisa has arrived at just the right time. But I wonder if the hero would be so kind as to come along?” Gaston asked tentatively.
“Arios has other important matters to attend to and cannot leave for the time being, so he can only entrust me to assist the kingdom.” Tissa’s tone was calm, yet it subtly revealed a sharp edge. “Does Lord Gaston perhaps think that I am not of any help to your ministry?”
"I wouldn't dare!" Gaston quickly apologized. "I have complete faith in Lady Tilissa's strength. With your help, we will surely capture that demon."
Tissa did not pursue the matter further, but nodded slightly, signaling the other party to continue explaining the situation: "Please tell me about the situation, Your Excellency Marquis."
Gaston slowly began, “Half a year ago, Lord Lyman cast a spell to detect that the Undead Demon was recuperating in the Nordpura territory in the southwest of the kingdom, but unfortunately, he couldn’t get a more specific location. This time, with the help of the demon-hunting equipment, we have finally pinpointed its hiding place.”
A serious expression appeared between his brows. "As you know, this Undying Demon is extremely cunning. Although we can defeat it, we cannot prevent it from escaping, so we have no choice but to ask the academy for help."
"An immortal demon... there is indeed a score to settle with it." Tissa said thoughtfully.
It was the Undying Demon who, along with the Sky and Sword Demons, ambushed her and Arios. When the situation turned bad, it was the first to abandon its teammates and flee.
“Understood,” Tilisa nodded. “Please lead the way, Your Excellency. I will do my best to assist you in completing your mission.”
Gaston nodded in agreement and led Tilissa to their temporary base.
The outpost was set up in a small courtyard in the town, where a dozen or so people in plain clothes were busy organizing equipment and weapons.
"To avoid alerting them, we disguised ourselves as hunters and merchants, entering the town in batches to make preparations in advance," Gaston explained briefly as he led the way.
Tilisa looked around and found that although these people were simply dressed, they all had sharp eyes and steady movements, and were obviously well-trained.
"Lord Gaston has quite a few elite soldiers under his command," Tilissa said with a hint of approval.
“You’re joking,” Gaston quickly waved his hand, looking humble. “I don’t have enough experts under my command; they are all heralds drawn from outside Nordpur territory.”
Tissa nodded thoughtfully.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw several elderly people and children sitting under the eaves basking in the sun, which seemed out of place with the tense atmosphere in the courtyard.
“I see there are still quite a few elderly and children in the town—” Tilissa said with a hint of doubt.
“We will evacuate them before we take action,” Gaston responded immediately, “to avoid putting them in danger as much as possible.”
“Then I’m relieved,” Tissa thought, feeling a greater appreciation for the Marquis’s thoughtful consideration. “The location of the Undead Demon?”
“It’s underground,” Gaston raised his hand and pointed to the ground. “Since it was injured last time, it has been in a state of rest to recover. As long as we don’t make too much noise, it won’t react.”
Entering a state of tortoise-like breathing can evade the perception of emblems and spells, but it leaves many openings in front of the Demon Seeker Set.
"When are we going to make our move?" Tilissa asked thoughtfully.
“My lord, you must be weary from your journey. Why not rest for the night and recharge your energy before engaging the demons in a final battle?” Gaston bowed slightly. “We can also use this time to evacuate the villagers to prevent innocent bystanders from being caught in the crossfire.”
Tilissa wanted to resolve the matter quickly, but Gaston's reasons were indeed impeccable.
She hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded in agreement: "Then it shall be as Lord Gaston says."
Upon hearing Tilissa's agreement, Gaston's face lit up with joy, and he quickly added, "I have prepared a place for you to rest, and no one will disturb you."
-----------------
Just as he had promised, Gaston began gathering people at dusk to evacuate the remaining villagers of Sudori.
After a quick dinner, Tilissa returned to her room to rest and recharge.
The Undying Demon was an old adversary she knew all too well.
Defeating it isn't difficult, but completely stopping it from escaping is not so easy.
We can only hope that Gaston and his men can play a more effective role.
In the dead of night, a faint, strange noise suddenly came from outside.
Tissa, who seemed to be asleep, suddenly opened her eyes and left the room in a flash.
Her movements were silent and stealthy, appearing outside the courtyard like a ghost.
"What are you doing?" Tilissa suddenly asked, her gaze fixed on the small, thin figure by the well.
"A ghost!" The boy was startled by the sudden sound, and the bucket in his hand slipped from his grasp and fell into the well.
He stared in horror at the extraordinary woman before him.
"There are actually female ghosts as beautiful as me?" Tissa couldn't help but smile.
“Oh…” The boy stared at her blankly and murmured, “Indeed, they say female ghosts are all ugly monsters. How could someone as beautiful as you be a ghost?”
Tissa shook her head helplessly, "Why didn't you leave with the others?"
The boy scratched his head sheepishly: "I fell asleep while playing hide-and-seek... When I woke up, everyone was gone. I was so thirsty, so I wanted to get some water."
"Let me help you," Tilissa said, stepping forward to take his hand.
The well was very deep, and it took her a long time to turn the windlass and draw up a bucket of water.
Just as Tilissa was about to take out the bucket, she caught a faint smell of blood. Without hesitation, she let go of the bucket and let it fall back into the darkness. More than ten seconds later, the sound of water splashing could be heard.
"Eh!"
The boy was stunned, not understanding why this pretty woman would give up the water she had worked so hard to fetch.
"See that yard?" Tilissa pointed to the outpost not far away, her voice gentle yet carrying an irresistible magic. "Tell your uncles about your situation, and they will give you water and food and take you to meet up with the others."
The boy nodded blankly, as if bewitched by her voice, and turned to run towards the courtyard.
After the boy left, Tilisa jumped into the well, her legs forming a split as she landed steadily on the well wall, and slowly slid down using gravity.
As the depth increased, the smell of blood became increasingly intense.
After descending more than ten meters, Tilissa found a gap in the wall large enough for a person to pass through.
Tilisa adjusted her direction, pushed off the wall with her toes, and sprang into the wall.
Inside, it was a completely different world, with a gloomy and damp atmosphere filled with the stench of decay.
She followed the trail of blood on the ground, occasionally seeing scattered bones, until the figure sucking out brain matter came into view.
“The Undying Demon.” Tissa’s face was as cold as ice, her voice as sharp as a knife.
Upon hearing her voice, the Undead Demon leisurely tossed aside the skull in his hand and slowly turned around.
"Who do we have here? Isn't this an old friend?"

Chapter 570 The Undying Demon Karnos
"You've grown up by not running away after seeing me."
Tilisa drew her longsword and pointed it directly at the Undead Demon.
Although this was somewhat different from Gaston's plan, since we've run into each other, there's no reason to pretend we didn't see it.
Moreover, the other party did not appear to be in a state of suspended animation as described in the intelligence. If Tilisa was not mistaken, what the Undead Demon was chewing on was clearly a human bone.
“If it were the hero here, I certainly wouldn’t dare to exchange pleasantries. But with you—slurp,” Karnos licked his lips, a cruel smile flashing in his eyes, “there’s no need for me to run away.”
"A mere defeated opponent!" Before Tilisa could finish speaking, her figure had already transformed into a blur as she lunged forward, aiming straight for Karnos's chest.
Carnos was not afraid and tried to grab Tilisa's weapon with his bare hands.
Just as his fingers were about to touch the blade, a blinding burst of light suddenly erupted, completely obliterating his vision.
The next second, a tremendous force sent him flying, crashing heavily into the stone wall.
Without pausing, Tilisa gave chase in a flash.
She drew her sword with incredible speed, dozens of sword lights intertwined into a net, suppressing Karnos completely.
The wall behind him cracked, and his body sank deeper and deeper, as if he were about to be buried alive.
"drink!"
Tilisa refocused the scattered sword light into a single point and precisely pierced Karnos's chest.
However, when the sword tip penetrated two centimeters, it was blocked by a strange resistance and could not get any closer.
"puff!"
Blood gushed from the wound like a fountain, and the powerful impact propelled the longsword directly out of Karnos's body.
Blood dripped onto the ground, making a hissing sound as it corroded, and the bluish-gray rock was scorched with small, blackened pits.
If Tilissa hadn't retreated in time, she would have inevitably been stained with this strange blood.
Karnos slowly pulled his body out of the wall, turned his neck a few times, and made a tooth-grinding sound of bones grinding together.
The gruesome wound on his chest healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, returning to its original state in the blink of an eye.
"The taste of this pain is still so familiar."
Karnos spat out a mouthful of blood, revealing his gleaming white teeth, and a chilling aura emanated from him.
