Euphemia's smile instantly brightened her amethyst-like eyes, like a flower bud soaked in sunlight, stretching out in full bloom.

Without the slightest hesitation, she gently raised her hand and placed her equally fair but even more slender fingertips steadily and trustingly into Melusin's waiting palm.

Today, the iron-blooded Princess Cornelia is preoccupied with military affairs, and the ever-sounding Princess Schneizel is also temporarily away from District 11.

They avoided the all-knowing, potentially troublesome, probing gazes of the two heavyweight members of the royal family.

In addition, there is the mysterious influence of Melusin, which originates from the essence of fairies and is subtle and ethereal, like a thin mist enveloping people's hearts.

This carefully disguised "master and servant" duo, accompanied by two plainclothes guards who were captivated by Meloshen and willingly "strayed" from the school, actually passed through the school gates without any trouble.

The bright sunlight shone on the gravel path, and the colorful roofs of the stalls hastily set up by students on both sides of the road were brightly lit.

The noisy voices, the aroma of various foods, and the almost visible wave of youthful energy instantly enveloped the four of them.

Euphemia took a deep breath, her eyes behind her sunglasses sparkling with excitement, like a lark finally breaking free of its gilded cage and flying into a flower garden.

Melusin, the fairy knight from another land, though veiled, couldn't help but reveal a pure curiosity in her amber eyes as she observed the mortal celebration so different from that of the fairy kingdom—noisy, chaotic, yet full of strange vitality.

Their figures blended into the constant flow of students and tourists, like two pebbles thrown into a pond, creating ripples so small that no one noticed them.

The princess's incognito visit and the fairy's otherworldly adventure quietly unfolded against this backdrop of sunshine and laughter.

Chapter 12 Reunion with Nunnally

Thanks to their unassuming casual clothes, paired with a perfectly chosen hat and sunglasses, they moved through the crowd with remarkable ease, even blending in comfortably. Euphemia enthusiastically savored the soft, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness of the cotton candy, and then tried the chewy, piping hot takoyaki, her face beaming with the pure joy of novel experiences.

What warmed her heart even more was that some students in the square, dressed in comical suits imitating the latest mecha Lancelot, awkwardly posed for photos. This scene silently conveyed a message: the young knight known as the "Honorary Britannian" was quietly being accepted by more people.

"I'm so happy... Melsin~" Euphemia turned her head to look at the fairy knight beside her, her eyebrows curving into beautiful crescents, and her lips unable to suppress a smile.

However, this excitement made her a little carried away. She stumbled and lost her balance, about to collide with the oncoming figure! Just as she tilted, Melusin's arm steadily wrapped around her waist, swiftly and gently pulling her away from the path of collision.

"Be careful," Melusin said in a low, steady voice.

"Ah!" Euphemia gasped softly, steadying herself with Melousin's support, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. "Thank you, Melousin..."

She immediately turned around, looking apologetically at the person who had almost been caught in the crossfire: "I'm so sorry! Are you alright?"

It was a woman dressed in a simple maid's outfit, carefully pushing a wheelchair. A small figure sat in the wheelchair, as quiet as a fragile porcelain doll.

Before the maid could speak, the slender girl in the wheelchair spoke first, her voice soft and clearly flustered: "No! Please forgive me! It's me... I'm so sorry!" The girl's voice was soft, but it carried a deep sense of self-reproach. "Knowing how crowded the school festival is... someone like me who can't walk and can't even see, having to trouble others to push me here to join the fun... it's really not right..."

She lowered her head slightly, like a child who had done something wrong, her fingers unconsciously curling up the thin blanket covering her knees.

Euphemia's gaze was fixed on the girl. The familiar chestnut hair and the pale yet still delicate features of her face suddenly overlapped with the image of her little sister in her memory who had to be quietly sent out of the palace and away from her loved ones! Even though she was wearing sunglasses, the huge shock made her pupils shrink and her breath catch in her throat.

A name long forgotten, one she almost dared not hope for, finally burst from Euphemia's throat with a tremor as if her heart had been suddenly clenched: "...Ah?...Nunali?!"

"Huh?!" Almost simultaneously, the girl in the wheelchair let out a soft, incredulous gasp. Although there was only eternal darkness before her, and she couldn't catch a glimpse of anyone, this voice—as gentle as a spring stream melting snow—was vividly imprinted on her warmest yet most fragmented childhood memories—like lightning cleaving through the chaotic years!

That voice had comforted her countless times in the cold corners of the palace; it had also, in the final moment of parting, on that desperate rainy night, accompanied by suppressed, heartbreaking sobs, cried out again and again to their cruel father: "Father! I beg you! Don't let Nunnally and Lelouch be separated! Please don't separate us!"

The owner of that voice, the small, princess-like figure who had once clumsily tried to protect her and her brother Lelouch with her soft body, blooming like a pink rose and then withering in an instant, suddenly appeared with unparalleled clarity in her pitch-black vision!

"That voice... could it be?!" Nanali's voice trembled slightly with immense excitement. Almost instinctively, she reached out, groping forward, her pale face a mixture of extreme shock and a hopeful, almost uncertain expectation.

Chapter 13 Sister: Do you still like my brother?

Just as Nunnally was about to utter that name, the fairy knight Melsin's calm voice intervened:

"Perhaps we should find another place to catch up? It seems we're already being noticed."

Melusin's gaze swept over her surroundings discreetly, and sure enough, several curious eyes were already fixed in this direction.

“You’re… right…” Nanali suddenly covered her mouth with her pale hand.

That almost-spoken call nearly exposed Euphemia's identity in front of everyone! A wave of fear made her heart clench.

"Please come with me, I know a secluded place." Sakiyoko, the personal maid who had been silently guarding the wheelchair, understood and immediately pushed the wheelchair forward.

The wheels slid silently, leading them quickly down a quiet corridor and into a rarely visited conference room.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

Meiluxin and two bodyguards, their figures concealed behind the door, stood guard at the conference room entrance, silently separating the two worlds.

Inside the door, after Euphemia sat down in the chair opposite Nunnally, Saki, who had been waiting quietly to the side, skillfully served two cups of freshly brewed, steaming black tea.

The tea was placed precisely in the most comfortable position within their hands, and the rising aroma seemed to inject a sense of relief into the tense atmosphere.

A brief silence filled the air as Nanali's slender fingers unconsciously caressed the warm porcelain cup.

Finally, she spoke softly, a hint of trepidation in her voice: "Could you... please keep this a secret for us for now? About my brother... and about me..."

Her voice was soft, carrying a cautious plea.

"But, Nunnally... if this continues..."

Euphemia responded almost immediately, her purple eyes swirling with anxiety and reluctance.

Looking at her gentle yet resilient younger sister, and at her figure sitting in a wheelchair, a strong desire surged within her.

The goal is to restore the honor and status that these talented brother and sister, who have been forced to live in anonymity, deserve as princes and princesses of Britannia.

Not wanting them to suffer any more injustice, she felt it was her responsibility as the older sister.

Nanali gently shook her head. Her refusal wasn't forceful, but it was exceptionally firm.

A gentle, almost heartbreaking smile bloomed on her lips: "All I need is... to be with my brother and live a peaceful life like this, that's enough."

Her palms gently rested on her knees, silently proclaiming her choice.

Moreover... that magnificent palace was no longer her home.

Instead, it was a cold, suffocating cage that held the memory of her mother's tragic death in an attack.

Every stone pillar and every inch of carpet there can evoke that unhealable pain.

She believed that her brother felt the same way. For the two siblings, what mattered was never those gilded surnames and titles.

Do you remember that fight we had when we were kids?

Memories of the past flooded back to her, and it was as if Nanali had touched a box treasured deep in her heart.

A warm smile touched her eyes and brows as she spoke softly, "Back then, we argued until we were red in the face about who should be my brother's bride."

"Of course I remember." Euphemia's eyebrows curved into beautiful crescent moons, and she too smiled with nostalgia.

"Back then, we insisted that my brother choose one on the spot!"

The shared memories ignited the girls' emotions, and the two seemed to see the helpless boy again.

They couldn't help but let out a light and cheerful laugh, like the clear ringing of silver bells in the quiet room.

"And now?" After the laughter subsided, Nunnally's glassy purple eyes, though unfocused, were clearly "looking" in Euphemia's direction, her voice carrying a hint of barely perceptible inquiry.

"Sister Yuffie...do you still like my brother the same way you used to?"

Chapter 14 My favorite is Melousin.

A brief silence enveloped the room.

But when Nunnally's question touched Euphemia's heartstrings, what came to mind was not Lelouch, the boy with black hair and purple eyes who was like her first love.

Instead, it was a touch of lake blue—the figure of the fairy knight Melusin, tall and calm, yet unexpectedly entering her heart.

(Is it...Merusin?)

This clearly emerging thought startled Euphemia herself.

Almost simultaneously, a strange, warm, and resolute sweetness replaced the panic brought on by the Nunnally problem.

Her lips curled up uncontrollably, forming a pure and slightly shy smile.

“Nanali…” Euphemia’s voice was soft yet incredibly clear.

Her previously tense tone, filled with surprise, completely relaxed, carrying a warm sense of relief. "Lelouch... is an important family member of mine, you know?"

This sentence, like a gentle thread, clearly weaves those innocent childhood feelings into a pure and strong bond of kinship.

She paused briefly, her eyelids lowered slightly, and her long eyelashes cast a soft shadow on her cheeks.

When she looked up at her younger sister again, her eyes shone with tenderness, and her tone carried a hint of barely suppressed shyness and certainty:

"Besides... I already have someone I like..."

To conceal her sudden frankness and blush, Yuffie lowered her head slightly, picked up her teacup, and took a small sip.

The rich aroma of black tea and the rising steam added a touch of warmth and ambiguity to her shy yet sweet mood.

Nanali's fingers, which were holding the warm porcelain cup, paused almost imperceptibly the moment she heard those words.

(Yuffy's sweetheart...isn't her brother?)

A ripple stirred in my heart, mixed with a slight surprise and a pure regret for my brother.

But this regret was fleeting, immediately replaced by genuine concern and curiosity for her sister.

She keenly noticed the distinctly different brilliance in Euphemia's voice.

It's no longer the complex entanglement with the identity of "Lelouch," but a lighter, more stable feeling, like the sweetness and satisfaction after everything has settled down.

“Important family members…” Nanali repeated softly to herself, as if savoring the weight of the words.

She had an incredibly deep affection for her brother and naturally understood the purity and preciousness of this familial bond.

But at this moment, the shy sweetness conveyed by Yuffie's reply pointed more clearly to another equally profound emotion.

Even though she couldn't see, Nanali could still "feel" the gentle, shy aura that filled the air as her sister lowered her head to sip her drink.

A moment later, a gentle and sincere smile bloomed on Nanali's face.

"I see... Sister Yuffie. So... who do you like?" A gentle smile curved her lips.

"Someone who can make you look so happy and shy must be a very, very special person, right? That's wonderful."

After a brief tea gathering, although the topic took an unexpected turn, the deep longing for loved ones after a long separation ultimately prevailed.

Euphemia's purple eyes were filled with complex emotions, which eventually settled into a gentle yet firm expectation.

“Nanali,” she said softly, her voice carrying a barely perceptible longing.

"Although this is good... I really want to see Lelouch with my own eyes and make sure he... is safe and sound."

This was not just polite talk; it stemmed from her deepest desire—to confirm the identity of the brother and family member who was so important to her.

Is it really as Nanali described, living peacefully in this little harbor?

Sitting in her wheelchair, Nanali seemed to have already anticipated her sister's feelings.

A playful and sly smile suddenly appeared on her flawless face. "Yes, of course I understand!"

Her voice was light and cheerful, with a hint of mystery, "Besides, I know where my brother should be~"

"But~" Nanali clasped her hands together, her smile bright and full of anticipation, "Let's secretly... give our brother a surprise, shall we?"

Then, a few minutes later.

The indicator lights on the equipment in the broadcast room are flashing, and the microphone remains on.

The air was slightly warm from the busy work, mixed with the smell of heat from the equipment and the paper. President Mirei was inspecting the equipment.

Lelouch Lamperouge, a student council member responsible for coordinating staff arrangements and broadcast support during the final stages of the school festival, sat at the control panel, his brows furrowed as he reviewed the event's closing schedule. His fingers tapped lightly on the table, clearly focused on his work.

At that very moment, the door separating the hustle and bustle from the passageway was gently pushed open.

Pushing Nanali's wheelchair forward was a slender girl wearing a wide-brimmed hat and large sunglasses.

Their arrival was like a stone thrown into calm water; when Lelouch, who had been focused on his documents, suddenly stiffened upon seeing the long pink hair.

That hidden pink hair, that familiar silhouette, that noble aura belonging to the Britannian royal family...
