"Ha, what an interesting scene."
Vishdale chuckled gleefully from the side, "As expected of the Doctor, always able to say the most infuriating things. Hey, Dragon Girl, are you really going to make a move here? I'd really like to see if your swordsmanship is as tough as your temper."
Just as the atmosphere was about to explode, a fierce argument and fight suddenly broke out on the other side of the quarantine checkpoint.
Several agitated infected individuals attempted to breach the checkpoint and clashed with the Guardian Bureau's security personnel.
"Tsk!"
Chen's attention was immediately drawn to it. Without the slightest hesitation, she moved like a black lightning bolt, rushing into the chaotic crowd.
All anyone saw was a flash of blue light, followed by a few muffled groans and screams. In just a few seconds, she had subdued all the troublemaking infected individuals with her superb grappling skills, rendering them unable to move.
She didn't even draw the sword at her waist.
The entire process was fluid and efficient, exuding an overwhelming sense of power and effectiveness.
A hint of approval flashed in Ais's eyes. Very strong physical skills.
Akame nodded quickly and made an accurate judgment.
After dealing with the disturbance, Chen straightened up and straightened his slightly disheveled collar.
She turned around, her cold gaze sweeping over everyone again before finally settling on the Doctor and Amiya.
"Forget it this time."
Her tone remained icy. "But there must be no next time. Now, everyone follow me. Enough talk, let's get to work!"
After saying that, she ignored everyone and turned to walk straight into the Dragon Gate.
The long, powerful dragon tail drew an impatient arc behind it, as if urging the troublesome creatures behind it to hurry up and catch up.
Chen pushed open the heavy, carved wooden door, stepped aside to make way, and gestured with his chin toward the inside of the door, indicating that everyone should follow.
She took the first step, her over-the-knee black leather boots making a crisp, rhythmic sound on the polished marble floor.
The interior of the council chamber was far more magnificent than it appeared from the outside, with an extremely high dome adorned with gilded dragon patterns.
A huge circular conference table occupied the center position. It was made of some kind of dark, precious wood, and its surface was polished to a mirror shine.
The walls are adorned with portraits of historical figures from Longmen and some abstract calligraphy works in the Yan style, creating a solemn, dignified, and even somewhat oppressive atmosphere throughout the space.
"This is the council chamber of the Lungmen government. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering."
Chen walked to the side behind the main seat and stood there. He looked around at the group of "guests" dressed in various ways and added in a cold tone, "You'd better behave yourselves and not touch anything here."
Her gaze lingered on Kitagawa Kaimu for two seconds longer, the warning in her eyes unmistakable.
Amiya quickly stepped forward and gave Chen an apologetic smile: "Mr. Chen, thank you so much. We'll be careful."
The professor, seemingly unfazed, curiously examined the dragon patterns on the dome, muttering to himself, "This pattern... I feel like I've seen it somewhere before..."
Akame's gaze was drawn to a huge decorative porcelain vase in the corner. She tilted her head, seemingly gauging whether it could hold a lot of meat.
Ais's gaze never left Chen, sensing the aura of a powerful being emanating from her.
Wow! This place is amazing! It's just like a scene from a movie!
Kitagawa Kaimu completely missed Chen's warning. She opened her mouth wide, her eyes sparkling as she looked around, before fixing her gaze on Chen once again.
She rushed to Chen, completely ignoring his fiery glare, clasped her hands together, and said in an extremely sincere tone, "Um, Miss Chen! I didn't mean it! I swear!"
Chen's eyebrows furrowed, and he squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth: "My name is Chen Huijie, or Chen Sir. Also, stay away from me."
"Ah, okay, Inspector Chen!"
Kitagawa Kaimu readily agreed and changed the way he was addressed.

"Doctor, are all your friends so... energetic?"
Chen rubbed his throbbing temples and looked at the professor who was still studying the ceiling.
"Eh? Is that so?"
The professor snapped out of her daze and gave her signature bewildered look. "I think everyone is adorable."
"Hello, Officer Chen."
A gentle voice, as soft as a spring breeze, rang out. Kanae Kocho, with a serene smile, bowed slightly to Chen. "My name is Kanae Kocho. Just now outside, I saw some people… they had black crystals on their skin and seemed to be in great pain. Is that disease called 'Originium Disease' truly incurable?"
The atmosphere in the council chamber instantly became much heavier when "Ore disease" was mentioned.
Chen's expression also became complicated. She glanced at Kanae, then at Amiya beside her, and finally spoke, her voice lower than before: "There is currently no cure. Rhodes Island is working on this research, but progress... is very limited. Once infected, it means a lifetime of suffering and will be subject to discrimination and exclusion from most people."
"How could this be... I'm just sick, why should I be discriminated against?"
Kanae's smile was tinged with a hint of pity.
As Kanae Butterfly finished speaking, Chen's eyes suddenly sharpened.
Her expression, which had softened slightly as she explained Oripathy, froze instantly, and then scrutiny and doubt returned to her eyes.
Instead of immediately answering the compassionate question, she shifted her gaze from Kanae and, like a searchlight, swept it over each of the "aid workers" present.
"Wait a moment."
Chen's voice was low and carried a dangerous quality, "This question... is very strange."
"Is there anything strange, Inspector Chen?"
Kanae maintained her gentle smile, seemingly unaware of the change in the other person's attitude.
"Of course it's weird!"
Chen's voice suddenly rose, his gaze fixed on Kanae, "The dangers and contagiousness of Oripathy are common knowledge that even a three-year-old on Terra knows! Why would you ask a question like 'Why am I being discriminated against?' It's as if you're not even from this world!"
Her question was forceful and resounding, echoing in the empty council chamber.
"And you..."
Chen's gaze swept over Rin Tohsaka, Kaimu Kitagawa, Ais, Akame, and the others again. "Where are your racial characteristics? Caprini's horns, Felin's ears, Lupo's tail... you have none of them! What race are you? Where did you come from?!"
This group of people is highly suspicious.
Lacking racial characteristics and completely ignorant of common sense.
Where did Rhodes Island find these strange people? What is the Doctor thinking?
"Ah... well..."
Kitagawa Kaimu scratched her cheek, unsure how to answer.
"Ugh."
Amiya rubbed her forehead and muttered to the Doctor, "I should have asked Dr. Kal'tsit to prepare some disguises for them."
"Hey, you char siu cat, are you checking my census?"
Vishdel crossed his arms and scoffed, "What business is it of yours what race other people are? Mind your own business."
"Shut up! You have no right to speak here!"
Chen retorted without hesitation, his gaze fixed on the doctor again. "Doctor! I need an explanation! Immediately!"
Just as the atmosphere in the council chamber reached its peak of tension, a heavy inner door behind the circular conference table was silently pushed open.
A woman dressed in a long white dress and wearing a black horn on her head walked out slowly. Her long pink and white hair cascaded down like a waterfall, and her pink eyes were full of compassion and gentleness. Holiness and majesty were perfectly blended in her.
She is none other than Theresa, the Demon Lord of the Sarkaz.
Beside her was a tall, imposing man with a dignified air.
He was dressed in a well-tailored dark suit, his short orange hair was neatly combed, and his sharp red eyes seemed to be able to see into people's hearts.
Wei Yanwu, the ruler of Longmen.
Theresa's gaze swept over the opposing group and landed on Gu Ye, Rin Tohsaka, and the others. She gave them a gentle nod, her eyes seeming to say, "I'm sorry to have startled you."
Wei Yanwu's brows furrowed tightly.
His gaze swept over the large group of girls behind the doctor, each with their own unique clothing and aura, his eyes revealing obvious dissatisfaction and vigilance.
"Your Highness Theresa, Doctor."
Wei Yanwu's voice was steady and powerful, yet carried an undeniable pressure: "I understand you want to expedite cooperation, but what is the meaning of bringing so many people to the council chamber? Negotiation, or armed coercion?"
"Lord Wei, you have misunderstood."
Theresa spoke softly, her voice carrying a calming power, "Apart from the Doctor, Amiya, and Miss Vishdel, the friends behind me are just tourists visiting Lungmen. They won't be involved in any of our decisions unless absolutely necessary."
"Tourists?"
Wei Yanwu's gaze lingered for a moment on Ais's rapier and Akame's Murasame, clearly not believing the explanation.
"Mr. Wei is right, it is indeed inappropriate for so many people to be here."
Gu Ye stepped forward, meeting Wei Yanwu's scrutinizing gaze. "If it's inconvenient for us to be present, could Officer Chen please take us for a tour of Longmen? We are all very curious about this great city."
"Shall I have Chen take you shopping?"
Wei Yanwu raised an eyebrow, then immediately objected, "No. She's the key security officer for this meeting and can't leave. However, you really shouldn't be here."
"But Lord Wei, who are these people..."
Chen wanted to persist, believing that this group of people of unknown origin posed a huge safety risk.
"No need."
Wei Yanwu raised his hand, interrupting Chen.
His sharp gaze swept over Gu Ye, Ais, Akame, and the others again, and although it was only for a few seconds, it seemed as if he had already seen through something.
These people... are very strong. Each one is unfathomable.
Especially that black-haired boy.
Theresa's ability to find such support shows that the Tower of Babel's resources are far deeper than I imagined. We absolutely cannot make enemies of them.
"The process of verifying strength can be skipped."
Wei Yanwu said in a deep voice, "I am already fully aware of everyone's strength."
A hint of surprise flashed across Chen's face, but out of absolute trust in Wei Yanwu, she ultimately chose to remain silent.
"Alright, let's get down to business now."
Wei Yanwu tapped his knuckles lightly on the conference table. "We can't have too many people negotiating. For Rhodes Island, besides the Doctor and Amiya, I only allow four more people to come."
Chapter 118 Chen's Fury
"Yeah!"
As soon as Wei Yanwu finished speaking, Kitagawa Kaimu immediately raised her hand high, her face full of excitement, "Then can those of us who aren't participating wander around around here on our own? We promise we'll be back as soon as you're done talking!"
Looking at her energetic appearance, Wei Yanwu pondered for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay. But don't go too far, and don't cause any trouble."
"awesome!"
Hai Meng cheered, then turned around, grabbed Gu Ye's arm, and pushed him forward. "It's settled then! Gu Ye, the negotiations are yours! Among us, no one is more suitable than you!"
"I?"
Gu Ye was somewhat surprised.
"That's right! It's you!"
Rin Tohsaka, hands on her hips, grinned mischievously. "This kind of brain-teasing stuff is perfect for you. We'll just have fun."
Theresa smiled gently as she watched this scene: "In that case, let's include Mr. Gu Ye."
"Hmph, I can't be bothered to listen to your long-winded rants."
Vishdale stretched, her alluring curves rising, and turned to Haimeng, saying, "Count me in, I want to go shopping too."
Seeing this, Wei Yanwu said no more.
He waved to the door, and a capable Guardian agent immediately walked in.
"Take these guests around the administrative area and make sure they are safe."
"Yes, Mr. Wei."
The operator answered respectfully, then gestured for Kitagawa Kaimu and the others to proceed.
