But Ernst merely exchanged a glance with Lola, then shook his head and smiled:
"It's okay, it's okay, we just want to get along well with our future colleagues."
Future colleagues?
Vina scratched her head, somewhat puzzled. "Our interview hasn't even started yet, how are we already future colleagues?"
Vina wasn't entirely confident she could pass the interview. After all, the tutorials on the intercity network all said that passing the civil service exam was one of the most difficult things in the world!
Although the position I'm taking isn't in Victoria, I figure the differences between different countries aren't that significant.
Fortunately, she didn't voice her doubts, otherwise Ernst would have had to reply with something like, "We don't have confidence in you, we have confidence in ourselves."
With your fluent Victorian Lontinim accent, you could easily become a diplomat in Sheraco, if nothing else.
When we need to discuss cooperation with some company or enterprise in Victoria, and you go out with them, everyone will praise your fluent Victorian language!
Realizing she couldn't understand their thought processes, Vina decided to get straight to the point:
"Our interview is in room 302. How about we play rock-paper-scissors to decide who goes in first?"
Vina didn't want to be the first to enter. She lacked experience and confidence, and being the first to enter would only make her more nervous. However, she was too embarrassed to directly order Ernst and Lola to go in first, so she could only leave her fate to luck in this way.
But to her surprise, Ernst and Lola both shook their heads and said firmly:
"It's alright, let's go in and take a look first."
Check if the air conditioning is on, if the water has been poured, and whether Enshiodis has set any traps for himself in the interview room.
Vina was so moved by these words that she almost cried.
Good heavens! She had just suspected that Ernst and Lola were being so enthusiastic towards her because they wanted to use her as a shield to force her into the interview room first. Now it seems she was just being cynical!
They had no intention of doing so at all. Not only did they not have this intention, they also volunteered to go in before Vina and help her "scout out the enemy's situation"!
What a spirit this is!
Vina felt a little ashamed for a moment. Just in terms of attitude, could she compare to Ernst and Lola?
She silently clenched her fists, encouraging herself:
"I need to do my best during the interview! I can't let Mr. Ernst and Miss Lola down!"
............
"Name?"
"Vina Victoria!"
"age?"
"23 years old!"
"Education?"
"Uh..." Vina hesitated for a moment, then weakly reported, "Junior high school graduate?"
After saying that, she guiltily avoided Ernst and Lola's gaze, not daring to meet their eyes.
Unfortunately, this is all an exaggeration. If you really look at it, she spent her entire childhood in the palace, tutored by royal tutors, and her actual academic record doesn't even include primary school.
Not to mention, she's currently living under an assumed name, so she can't possibly reveal her true identity. Therefore, strictly speaking, her current educational level basically depends on how she evaluates her mother.
The better outcome is graduating from prenatal education, while the worse outcome is dropping out of prenatal education; in reality, there isn't much difference.
This caused Ernst and Lola to exchange bewildered glances.
They had assumed that Vina, who appeared polite and spoke with a perfect accent without using any profanity, must have at least an undergraduate degree.
"You didn't manage to fool any college students, did you?" Lola whispered quietly.
Ernst scratched his head: "Uh, unexpected, unexpected. But you see, Miss Vina is actually quite good, isn't she? Although she doesn't have a high level of education, she has plenty of social experience!"
Lola glanced at Ernst speechlessly upon hearing this, thinking to herself that the young master knew how to speak.
A 23-year-old woman with only a junior high school diploma, what did she do during the time she wasn't in school?
Isn't it just going to hang out on the streets or work in a factory? Do you think they're planning to restore a nation?
This can't be called having rich social experience; it just goes to show that the meaning of a word can indeed be completely different in different contexts.
Vina was even more frustrated.
She was incredibly nervous when she saw Ernst and Lola walk through the interview door together.
These two don't seem to have much experience. Aren't interviews usually done one at a time? Why did they both come into the interview room together?
After much deliberation, Vina decided not to call out to them. Firstly, she wasn't very familiar with etiquette and thought that Ernst and the others might be testing the interviewers' personalities by doing so. Secondly, the building providing the interview rooms seemed to belong to another large company, and it appeared to be open on Saturdays; she didn't dare to make a loud noise.
She sat outside the door and waited, but instead of Ernst or Lola being kicked out, she heard an announcement from the hallway.
"Please enter the interview room, interviewee number 001."
Interviewee number 001? Aren't there two people ahead of me?
Vina walked into the room in a daze. Before she could even confirm whether she had wandered from a scam den in northern Myanmar into some kind of supernatural movie set, she saw Ernst and Lola, who had entered the room earlier, now dressed in proper formal suits and sitting behind a table, watching her with smiles on their faces.
"please."
Ernst said.
"You're not ghosts." Vina started to say, but then swallowed her words. A quick thought struck her, and she realized what was going on. She changed her tune, saying, "So you're the interviewers!?"
Ernst smiled slightly and nodded.
Vina was both amused and exasperated.
Damn, no wonder those two were rushing to get in. Apparently, if you two didn't get in first, the interview wouldn't even begin, right?
Despite all her scheming, Vina, who was ultimately the first (and possibly the last) interviewee, sat down in the chair, which led to the classic three questions just now.
Vina was both depressed and anxious at that moment.
I'm frustrated because I feel that with my qualifications, I probably won't get this job.
Meanwhile, Ernst and Lola were whispering to each other, which made it seem like there was still a chance for things to turn around.
Sure enough, when Ernst sat up straight again, he did not immediately announce Vina's defeat, but instead asked Vina a question in a serious manner.
"Miss Vina, why did you choose to become a civil servant in Sherag?"
Vina was slightly taken aback. Why? Because I have no other jobs to look for.
My identity is questionable, my background is unclear, my education was obtained through prenatal education, and my resume is a garbage template. It's unreasonable to tell me to try my luck elsewhere.
Only a job like being a civil servant in Shelag, which seems so unreliable, would suit an unreliable person like me...
Of course, Vina couldn't say these inner thoughts out loud.
She recalled the teachings of the Beast Lord Gawain, her turbulent first half of life, and her resolve before stepping through this door. Finally, she slowly said:
"As you know, Kjerag is a beautiful place, known as the Snowland, and Yeragand is incredibly magical. From the moment I saw the job posting, this place captivated me, so I decided to bring my talents to Kjerag and contribute my strength, spreading light and warmth here!"
After Vina finished speaking, she straightened her chest, which was even fuller than Lola's, and looked solemn as she awaited Ernst's judgment.
Ernst gently put down the resume in his hand, stood up, extended his hand to Vina, and laughed loudly:
"Oh, so what are you waiting for?"
The most crucial skill for a civil servant—the ability to speak with righteous indignation and brazenly lie—was something Vina had mastered without instruction. What reason did Ernst have not to accept such a talented individual?

Chapter Twenty-Seven: She's lusting after my body! (5000 words)
As a city whose economy is based on light industry and agriculture, the nights in Ascala County are always somewhat monotonous.
In contrast to the various entertainment activities and street speeches held every night in Colombia's emerging cities, the streets of Azcal County are lined with establishments of prostitution and entertainment, most of which can be divided into 40% alcohol, 40% drugs and cigarettes, and 20% women.
Activities that are now banned in many self-proclaimed "civilized" countries still exist in this small Victorian town as if they were born there, contributing to the city's limited tertiary sector consumption.
Thanks to Tornhiudis, Ernst also had the privilege of experiencing the decadence of capitalism, relieving the day's fatigue in the soft, yet unhealthy embrace of this haven.
"A presidential suite, isn't that amazing?"
Lying on the imported Sargon velvet mattress, Ernst exclaimed with delight.
Sitting on the other bed, Lola stroked the mattress, her expression one of struggle, as if she were fighting against the beast of desire deep within her heart.
Only the newly hired employee, Vina, seemed much calmer than Ernst and Lola. She touched the bed and only offered a rather reluctant comment:
"generally."
This made Ernst, who was almost asleep in bed, unable to resist opening his eyes and muttering to himself:
"That's nothing. Have you ever slept in the king's bed or had the grand duke tell you bedtime stories?"
Recalling the simple wooden plank bed in Shelag, Ernst could only silently console himself:
"It's alright, there's no place like home."
Then he heard Lola's curious voice: "What is this?"
Watching the Ursus girl, about Vina's age, point to the luxurious, fluffy tent in the corner, her face filled with longing,
"It must be so comfortable to sleep in this, right?"
Vina glanced at the tent in Lola's direction, then looked somewhat embarrassed and explained:
"Uh, I don't know. But usually no one sleeps in there."
"Why?" Lola asked innocently. "Is it because it's the presidential suite bed, and we can't afford it?"
“No, because those are usually doghouses,” Vina replied, well-informed.
Lola fell silent, her gaze shifting back and forth between the beast's "little nest" and the big bed, before finally sniffling with a hint of grievance.
The innocent and carefree heart of this college graduate was struck by the inhumanity of capitalism. It's clear she truly loved that little apartment.
To prevent the situation from escalating further, Ernst decisively changed the subject, looking at Vina and asking curiously:
"Miss Vina, you seem to know a lot about these things?"
Ernst doesn't know much about the things in Terra, but some principles should be universal in both the human world and Terra.
For example, one's social class determines one's level of knowledge and understanding.
This is a somewhat sensitive but undeniable fact: a person's birth, social class, and education directly determine how much "insight" they will possess when they enter society. The children of emperors, even with a systematic and complete education, may only remain theoretically knowledgeable, while the children of peasants, lacking a proper education, may repeat the cycle of generations past, becoming peasants again. Over time, even without other means, the solidification of social classes becomes inevitable.
An old farmer might fantasize about being an emperor and using a golden hoe to till the land, while a king might foolishly ask, "Without supplies, why don't we eat meat porridge?" during a nationwide famine.
This teaches us a profound lesson—you can't succeed without capital.
Ahem, I misunderstood. It should be that education is the most promising way to transcend social classes.
Vina, on the other hand, clearly did not match the description in the resume she submitted to Ernst.
A young woman barely in her early twenties speaking fluent Victorian with a Lontinem accent—Ernst could simply attribute this to her having lived in Lontinem. After all, even in Britain during the British Empire, there were patriots in the slums of East London, weren't there?
However, the knowledge gained from seeing a range of items in the presidential suite is enough to illustrate some points.
Upon hearing Ernst's question, Vina was slightly taken aback, realizing that she had perhaps been too relaxed and had forgotten to conceal her identity.
It's not her fault. Whether it was the recruitment process, the interview, or the subsequent experience of staying at this temporary residence, Ernst and Lola's interactions were so unique that they overwhelmed her and made her feel incredibly threatened.
Now, when Ernst brought it up again, she hurriedly tried to cover it up, saying:
"Ah, well... it's because I've stayed in hotels like this a few times before, um., in other places."
This is a lie. Vina never stayed in a presidential suite. Before her father was beheaded and her life took a turn for the worse, her only residence was her own room in the Iron Palace.
As the legitimate daughter of the largest landowner in all of Victoria, Vina's living environment was undoubtedly excellent. Apart from not having Mary Sue's exaggeratedly light-adaptive rainbow-colored hair, every other condition was perfect for her.
Vina had seen the doghouse mentioned earlier, which was placed in the corner of the bedroom. However, it wasn't in the bedroom, but in another pet room that was about the same size as this presidential suite, filled with all kinds of pet toys and equipment.
Ernst, however, was unaware of Vina's past experiences. He only gleaned a small clue from the girl's flustered expression, her reluctance to speak, and her stammering words.
Vina's identity is probably not that simple.
