This too is attachment, an obstacle, a new cage that deviates from the pure and inactive essence of the "Tao".

The true core is that "heart" that is in harmony with the Tao.

As long as Wang Xuan has a single thought that aligns with his heart and his principles, he can achieve anything he desires in this world.

Let mountains and rivers turn upside down, let day and night reverse, let the cycle of life and death be reversed...

These are not impossible, but if even a trace of it is for the purpose of showing off power or satisfying personal desires, then it deviates from the true path.

What truly matters is the origin of that thought: whether it is pure, natural, and in harmony with the unseen "Heavenly Mind."

He truly embodied the principle that "my heart is the heart of Heaven, and my will is the will of Heaven." Here, "Heaven" does not refer to a deity with a will.

Rather, it refers to the natural law that is without beginning or end, giving birth to all things, the essence of the universe. His will, within this ten-mile radius, is the manifestation of this essential law.

Looking at the world today, countless seekers of the Dao are either painstakingly cultivating golden elixirs and talismans, diligently pursuing supernatural powers and abilities, or indulging in debates on scriptures. They are all groping in the labyrinth of "techniques" and "methods".

Trying to touch that ultimate "Tao".

Wang Xuan, it seems, has already crossed that crucial barrier, truly standing ahead of everyone else, and stepping into an unprecedented realm.

He no longer passively perceives and utilizes the rules, but has become one of the sources of the rules (at least in his domain).

This undoubtedly means that he became a landmark of an era, a pioneer who guided those who followed.

However, Wang Xuan was not proud of this at all.

What welled up in my heart was not a sense of superiority looking down on all living beings, but a deeper peace and... responsibility.

Chapter 114 Leaving

Wang Xuan returned to that familiar little courtyard.

Pushing open the slightly mottled wooden door, it creaked softly, the sound carrying far in the quiet afternoon.

The scene in the courtyard was not much different from when he left. Light moss covered the stone slabs, and the old tree in the corner still stretched its branches, but the fallen leaves covered the ground, giving it a desolate feel of being deserted.

He stood in the courtyard, his gaze slowly sweeping over every corner: the old wind chimes hanging under the eaves, the faded paper-cuts on the window frames, and the stone bench worn smooth by time.

Scenes from the past, like paintings submerged at the bottom of the water, are quietly retrieved by this familiar environment and appear before my eyes.

Old Wang sat on a stone bench, smoking his pipe. Through the swirling smoke, his kind yet slightly worried gaze was visible.

"It feels like it all happened just yesterday."

Wang Xuan sighed inwardly. The power of time lies in its silent passage, and even more so in the sense of a lifetime that comes with looking back.

For him, who was already able to stop time and glimpse the laws of space and time, these feelings of being a mortal did not disappear; on the contrary, they were replaced by a transcendent perspective.

And they gained a deeper understanding of the emotional weight that belongs to "human beings" contained within it.

He didn't use any supernatural powers to wipe away the dust. Instead, like an ordinary traveler returning home, he walked to the well and drew a bucket of cool well water.

He found a rag that had been lying idle in the corner for a long time and had dried out, soaked it, and wrung it out. Then, he began to wipe it meticulously.

From the eight-immortal table in the main room and the long table against the wall, to the stove and cupboard in the kitchen, and then to my own small bedroom that held countless nights of contemplation.

He wiped it meticulously, his movements slow and focused, as if he were performing a solemn ceremony.

The clear water washed away the dust, and it seemed to wash away the traces left by the past years as well.

Each item was a testament to his life with Old Man Wang. Now, he bid them a final farewell in the simplest way.

This is not magic, but a heartfelt expression of respect for a past chapter of life.

After wiping the inside and outside clean, the courtyard seemed to have been revitalized, but it also became more deserted.

Then, Wang Xuan picked up the bamboo basket he had prepared beforehand, which contained a few simple offerings, incense, candles, and paper money, and walked out of the courtyard toward the cemetery on the hill behind the village.

Old Man Wang's grave is located on a sunny slope halfway up the mountain, surrounded by pine and cypress trees, simple and solemn.

Wang Xuan cleared the weeds from the grave, arranged the offerings one by one, and then lit three sticks of incense.

Wisps of smoke rose straight up, merging into the azure sky.

He knelt before the grave, throwing paper money into the flames one by one, the leaping firelight illuminating his serene face.

He spoke, his voice not loud, but carrying an undeniable firmness and a hint of barely perceptible reassurance.

"My son's spiritual practice can be considered complete."

He had been waiting and preparing to say this for a long time.

From the initial bewilderment of being transported here, to the unease after learning the truth about the world, and then to the perseverance after the system arrived and I embarked on the path of cultivation.

To this day, he controls a region, understands his own nature, and touches the origin of the Great Dao. He walks this path alone, but with unwavering determination.

"It's time for my son to leave too."

He looked at Old Man Wang's name on the tombstone and continued.

"I probably won't come back in the future."

This is not heartlessness, but understanding. The attachments here have settled with the peaceful rest in the grave.

Old Man Wang's passing not only took away his only kinship bond in this world, but also revealed the true face of this world to him in his vague yet crucial words before his death—it was not the ordinary parallel world he had initially thought.

Rather, it was the turbulent and unpredictable world of supernatural beings in "Under One Person," which he had glimpsed through a screen in his previous life.

When Wang Xuan first learned the truth, he was indeed filled with fear.

When an ordinary person knows the plot and is well aware of the countless dangers and schemes hidden within, the feeling of being on tenterhooks and walking on thin ice is not an exaggeration.

It wasn't until the so-called "system" came knocking on his door and led him onto a completely different path of seeking the Dao that his mindset began to change.

From passively accepting the fear of fate, he turned to actively seeking the true path. Cultivation not only gave him power, but also reshaped his character.

He gradually transformed from an observer who knew the "plot" into a participant who threw himself into the "reality".

"To this day, Wang Xuan has completely let go of his only attachment. From now on, there is nothing in this world that can be taken to heart by Wang Xuan."

The flames of the burnt paper money gradually weakened, turning into ashes that swirled and drifted away in the wind. A certain obsession in my heart seemed to vanish completely along with the smoke and ash.

He has fulfilled Old Man Wang's expectations; he has settled the karma of this life.

"It can be said that Wang Xuan came to this world and then let it go."

This is a kind of detachment, not indifference. He experienced, felt, loved, and parted ways.

Now, he is able to carry the insights gained from all these experiences and move lightly and firmly into a wider world.

This land, this village, this courtyard, this grave—all will become part of his Daoist heart, residing there forever, yet no longer constituting a hindrance.

He stood quietly in front of the grave for about two hours, not out of overwhelming grief, but more like a form of companionship, a silent exchange that transcended life and death.

Finally, he bent down and, with his clean sleeve, wiped the tombstone for Old Man Wang one last time with utmost care, brushing away the non-existent dust.

"Father, take care."

After saying this, he resolutely turned around and slowly walked down the mountain path he had come from, never looking back.

A mountain breeze swept by, and the pines rustled in the wind, as if softly composing a farewell.

Wang Xuan was about to leave, but before he did, he had some things to take care of.

It was neither an unresolved grudge nor a necessary transaction; rather, it was more like a kind of... confirmation, or rather, a kind of responsibility and curiosity based on "knowing".

He left the place where he had spent the longest time and left the deepest imprint on him, without using his ability to teleport thousands of miles in an instant.

Instead, he traveled like an ordinary person, using modern transportation, buying a ticket again, and heading to Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi.

That place is the location of the Celestial Master's Mansion, the head of the Zhengyi sect.

Wang Xuan was going to see the Old Celestial Master and have a chat with him, and then he was going to the Lu family again to see Old Master Lu Jin.

Leaving behind my insights on reversing life might be of some help to Grandpa Lu.

Chapter 115 Return to Longhu Mountain

Longhu Mountain, with its thousands of peaks vying for beauty, shrouded in clouds and mist, has been a sacred site of Taoism since ancient times, and the location of the Celestial Master's Mansion, a prominent place in the world of extraordinary people. In the early morning, the mountain is still filled with damp mist, and the stone steps are soaked with dew, turning a deep color.

Wang Xuan did not use any supernatural powers. Just like an ordinary pilgrim, he followed the winding mountain path step by step, slowly walking towards the Celestial Master's Mansion, which symbolized the pinnacle of the righteous path.

Arriving at the solemn and ancient gate of the Celestial Master's Mansion, the same young, though somewhat immature, Taoist priest was still on duty. Wang Xuan nodded slightly, but before he could speak, the young priest stepped aside and respectfully bowed.

"Layman Wang, the master has given instructions. Please come in."

Before arriving, Wang Xuan did indeed send a message to the Celestial Master in some unknown way, only saying that he would be visiting today, but the time was not specified.

The old master didn't ask any further questions, but simply gave the instructions as usual. This tacit understanding stemmed from past interactions and mutual tacit recognition.

Passing through the front courtyard, one enters the solemn and majestic main hall. Inside, incense smoke rises, and the statues of the Three Pure Ones gaze down upon all living beings.

The old Celestial Master Zhang Zhiwei was not sitting in the main seat, but was pushing a wheelchair and chatting quietly with his junior brother Tian Jinzhong, who was sitting in the wheelchair, in a corner of the hall.

Old Tian looked much better than when Wang Xuan first met him. His eyes were bright and his face was rosy. Even in his calm state, the joy of being free from his chronic illness and reborn could be faintly seen.

"Hey, kid Wang, you've come!"

The old celestial master caught a glimpse of Wang Xuan entering out of the corner of his eye, immediately turned his head, and greeted him with a warm smile like that of an elder meeting a junior he admires.

Old Tian turned around upon hearing the sound, and upon seeing Wang Xuan, a genuine smile immediately spread across his face. He struggled to raise his still somewhat clumsy hand and waved to Wang Xuan, his eyes filled with indescribable gratitude.

“Young friend Wang Xuan…”

His voice was still a little hoarse, but it had become much stronger.

Old Tian knew in his heart that if it weren't for Wang Xuan's almost heaven-defying methods, he would probably still be mired in endless darkness and pain.

How could he have such peace and quiet as he sits here now, chatting casually with his senior brother? Wang Xuan had truly given him a second chance at life.

With a smile on his face, Wang Xuan calmly approached and respectfully bowed to the two elders:

"Old Celestial Master, Elder Tian, how have you been?"

The atmosphere was initially relaxed, with the old master wearing a smiling expression.

However, as Wang Xuan approached step by step and the distance between them decreased to a certain range, the old Celestial Master's usual smile, which seemed to encompass everything and see through everything, gradually faded away like clouds blown away by the wind.

His eyes, which usually seemed dull but were actually as sharp as a hawk's, narrowed slightly, and his gaze fell on Wang Xuan as if it were a physical object, sizing him up from head to toe.

He felt it.

The figure of Wang Xuan before me remained unchanged, and his appearance was the same, but his overall demeanor had undergone a complete transformation.

In the past, although Wang Xuan was also highly skilled and his aura was obscure, he was still within the realm of "human" and his power flow and spiritual fluctuations could be felt.

But at this moment, Wang Xuan stood there, his aura perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment, yet he seemed to be independent of it.

He was right in front of him, but in the old master's clear and bright spiritual perception, he seemed to be shrouded in an invisible halo.

It is as deep as an abyss, as tranquil as an ancient well, unfathomable and boundless.

It was a sense of harmony... as if breathing and pulsating in unison with the rules of this world.

"Young Master Wang, you..."

The old celestial master spoke subconsciously, his tone carrying a hint of incredulous inquiry, but he didn't finish his sentence. He just stared at Wang Xuan, trying to read something from his calm and unwavering eyes.

Wang Xuan naturally understood what the old Celestial Master had sensed. He didn't answer directly, but smiled slightly and gently raised his right hand as if demonstrating something perfectly natural.

The next moment, there was no violent fluctuation of Qi, nor any complicated talismans or hand seals.

On his palm, the power of the five elements appeared and flowed naturally, like a gentle spirit.

First, a crystal-clear droplet of water, brimming with vitality, condenses.

As the water droplets rolled, they transformed into a cluster of leaping flames, radiating warmth and light.

The flames flickered, then quickly solidified into a small, angular, thick, and heavy piece of earth and stone.

On the surface of the earth and stone, a metallic luster appeared, extending into a sharp, golden beam.

Finally, the metal element gives rise to the water element, and a wisp of vibrant green wood energy coils and grows, endlessly cycling and regenerating.

This is not simply about transforming Qi into form, but rather a more fundamental direct call to and control over the basic elements that constitute the world.

The power of the five elements in his palm was not forcibly bound, but rather as if it had returned to its origin, joyfully demonstrating the principles of mutual generation and restraint.

Moreover, within a foot or so of him, the space seemed to be slightly distorted, and the light would occasionally scatter and converge unnaturally, with tiny, indescribable specks of light appearing and disappearing out of thin air.

It was as if invisible rules were being subtly rewritten and reshaped.

These phenomena were not intentional on his part; they were simply manifestations of the "Daoist charm" caused by the natural radiation of his own Daoist realm as he "exists" here.
