Chapter 10 Lu Mingfei's Outburst

The morning sunlight filtered through the branches and leaves, casting its glow on the corridors of Shilan Middle School, and the air was filled with the clear or slightly sleepy voices of young people reading aloud.

Walking among the embers, I felt a sense of returning to my youth.

"Back in my day, I was one of those thousands of students..." he thought to himself with a sigh.

Holding a book every day, it's just that my eyelids... seven days a week, thirty days a month, sometimes thirty-one days, they always end up sticking together by accident.

The memory immediately flashed back to that hand that always managed to grab his ear with pinpoint accuracy.

"Damn teacher..." Yu Jin subconsciously rubbed his earlobe.

Back then, I thought my homeroom teacher was incredibly annoying, but now I realize that he had good intentions.

Thirty times a month, and you succeed in staking out every single time?

Isn't this a kind of... uh, alternative teacher-student relationship?

Just as this sentiment was about to blossom into warmth, a figure appearing at the end of the corridor instantly pulled Yu Jin back to the peak of his PTSD from his student days.

A shirt tucked into his trousers, hands behind his back, eyes scanning every classroom window, a hint of satisfaction on his face at the sound of students reciting their lessons… What a posture, what an aura!

"Holy crap!" Yu Jin's body reacted faster than his brain, and he instinctively tried to shrink back against the wall. "This smell is too strong! It's at least the smell of the headmaster!"

The taste of youth instantly turned into the smell of being punished by standing in front of the disciplinary office!

What are you afraid of?

That figure—Director Feng—had clearly also noticed this oddball strolling leisurely during morning reading time.

His satisfied expression vanished instantly, and his brows furrowed.

"It's going to kill me!" The survival instinct from my student days instantly took over!

"Which class are you in? Why are you standing in the corridor during morning reading time?" Director Feng's voice carried an unquestionable authority. He had clearly never seen a student so blatantly loitering around during patrol time and was determined to save this lost sheep.

However, to his surprise, the student in front of him, wearing the Shilan school uniform, did not stand at attention to listen to the reprimand. Instead, he took a step back like a startled rabbit and disappeared around the corner of the stairs in a flash!

Director Feng was stunned for a full second.

"Are all students these days...so individualistic? Instead of shrinking back and taking a scolding, they just...run away?!"

A surge of anger at being slighted, mixed with a sense of professional mission, suddenly rose within him.

He pulled the hem of his shirt out of his waistband and loosened the collar neatly.

"Don't underestimate me! The dean of students at Shilan Middle School!" he whispered, his eyes blazing with fighting spirit. "I'm a man who hasn't neglected sports, hasn't fallen behind in my studies, and hasn't missed a single city marathon! Today, I'll show you what I'm made of!"

At the same time, before Yu Jin could even catch his breath after slipping down the stairs, he heard hurried and powerful footsteps behind him.

"What bad luck! I hope I'm not wanted by the whole school?" He had just finished muttering to himself when he turned around in confusion and was instantly terrified.

"Damn! They're really chasing us?! And they're running so fast?!" Yu Jin instantly accelerated and sprinted. "What happened to the middle-aged man who's supposed to be overweight and only likes to pace around? This doesn't make sense!"

Director Feng's booming voice echoed down the corridor: "I'm a former champion of the Shilan Middle School track and field team! All those years of running marathons rain or shine weren't for nothing! This physique is the best defense against any challenge!"

"Teacher! You're so dedicated!" Yu Jin shouted as he ran.

"Running in the corridor is prohibited! Stop right now!" Director Feng chased after them relentlessly.

"Then please don't chase after them!" Yu Jin said in despair.

"The school rules govern students," Director Feng said, his voice slightly breathless, "but they don't say teachers can't run around!"

This thrilling chase was completely undisguised, instantly igniting the gossip spirit of the entire teaching building.

People peeked out of the windows of each classroom, their eyes filled with surprise, doubt, curiosity, and even a touch of admiration as they followed the two figures moving at lightning speed.

Amidst all this commotion, only Chu Zihang from a certain class had a completely lifeless look in his eyes.

"Ember?! Why is he here?"

Why are you wearing our school uniform?

Why was Director Feng chasing after me?

He silently held his textbook up to shield his face... "Don't let the blood splatter on me."

Unfortunately, Ember's gaze still managed to pierce through the crowd and find him.

"We've found Chu Zihang!" Yu Jin was overjoyed. "In the original story, his and Lu Mingfei's teaching buildings were next to each other... So, the loser should be nearby!"

One floor, two floors, three floors... Amidst the growing crowd of students watching, cheering, and shouting, and the teachers who came from all directions to try to intercept him, Yu Jin's gaze swept across the room like a radar.

Finally, he spotted the familiar figure sitting by the window, looking utterly dejected—Lu Mingfei.

Almost the instant Yu Jin's gaze fell upon him, Lu Mingfei recognized him as well!

Although somewhat narcissistic, Lu Mingfei always felt that the person he had met once before—he remembered the name was Yu Jin—was looking at him, and guessed that the other person's gaze seemed to have fallen on him, and that the other person was looking for him.

This idea startled Lu Mingfei!

"I just happened to be passing by, are they really going to get revenge on me? They even came all the way to school!"

Ultimately, he was just a student; he had never experienced anything like this before.

Moreover, I heard that the person who was being chased by the head of the teaching department never caught up with him in the end, and no one knows where he ran off to.

Upon learning this news, Lu Mingfei became even more frightened.

He didn't hear a single word of the next class; his mind was filled with all sorts of terrible news.

Feeling dazed and confused, Lu Mingfei just wanted to rush to the restroom to splash some cold water on himself and clear his head. As he stood up absentmindedly, his shoulder accidentally bumped into a burly boy next to him.

"Are you blind?!" The boy shoved Lu Mingfei hard without any politeness, and Lu Mingfei staggered back a few steps.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry!" Lu Mingfei apologized, habitually shrinking his neck.

"What bad luck!" the boy spat out in disgust, his voice neither too loud nor too soft.

Lu Mingfei lowered his head and didn't refute, only wanting to leave as soon as possible.

After all... I'm used to it.

However, just as he took two steps, the boy's deliberately raised voice came from behind him, full of sarcasm, clearly reaching the ears of the surrounding classmates: "Can't you see well? No wonder his parents divorced and didn't want him, thinking he was in the way, and just dumped him on his uncle and aunt to raise as a burden!"

Buzz—Lu Mingfei's footsteps suddenly froze on the spot.

The string of reason in my mind snapped instantly!

A surge of scorching, magma-like rage suddenly erupted from the depths of his heart!

"You fucking..." Lu Mingfei turned around abruptly, his eyes bloodshot, a beast-like growl escaping his throat, "Say it again and see!"

Before he finished speaking, he had already pounced on him!

The boy never expected that the loser who could be trampled on by everyone would suddenly erupt, and was caught off guard when his collar was grabbed hard!

"Let go! You fucking want to die!" The boy realized what was happening, became enraged, and swung his fist, slamming it hard into Lu Mingfei's face!

A sharp pain shot through Lu Mingfei's vision, but he gripped his hands even tighter!

He can tolerate being called a loser or a coward!

But insulting his parents is unacceptable!

The surrounding classmates screamed and rushed over, trying to pull them apart.

In the chaos, some people appeared to be trying to break up the fight, but their fists were actually landing viciously on Lu Mingfei.

The scene was a mess, and some people had already run out to find the teacher. Just as the situation reached a stalemate, with Lu Mingfei desperately gripping the other person's collar and refusing to let go—

A hand slammed against the classroom window! The next second, a figure, without warning, braced himself against the windowsill with one hand, nimbly vaulted over, and stood steadily on the windowsill!

"Magic trick!"

The newcomer was none other than Yu Jin! The entire class was stunned! How could this legendary figure, who had been chased all over the school by the head of discipline that morning, suddenly appear out of nowhere!

Ember ignored the jaws dropping in astonishment.

He glanced around, locked onto his target, jumped off the windowsill, rushed into the crowd, grabbed Lu Mingfei by the back of his collar, and yanked him away from the boy.

Lu Mingfei was pulled so hard he stumbled and hadn't even regained his balance.

"Slap—!" A crisp, loud slap echoed in the classroom!

"You're so foul-mouthed, aren't you?" The boy who had just been yelling had a clear finger mark on half of his cheek instantly swollen up, and he was completely stunned.

But this was just the beginning. Ember grabbed his collar, executed a clean and swift trip, and threw him heavily to the ground, then straddled him!

The next second, a barrage of fists rained down without hesitation!

"Ow!"

"I'll give you a bad mouth!"

"You little brat, huh? You've turned my dragon race fantasy into a teen novel!" Yu Jin muttered through gritted teeth as he clenched his fist. This nonsensical yet resentful remark became the loudest background noise in the room.

Now all the students who were watching realized what was happening and screamed as they tried to pull Yu Jin away.

But even when several people worked together, they couldn't budge a single person!

On the outside, Lu Mingfei, clutching his cheek which was still burning from the punch, stared in disbelief at the person who had beaten up the insulter on his behalf.

The anger I felt just moments before was instantly dispelled by immense astonishment.

Only after the boy on the ground fainted did Yu Jin reluctantly stop punching, stand up, and casually brush the dust off his school uniform.

"Ah, that felt great." Yu Jin's face showed a satisfied expression, as if he had completed an important mission.

He walked toward the windowsill as if no one else was there.

"Alright, students, you've had a tiring day watching the show, no need to see me off!" Just as he stepped one leg onto the windowsill, a sharp shout came from the doorway: "What are you doing?!" The teacher, who had just arrived at the scene, was furious and turned ashen-faced.

Upon hearing the sound, Yu Jin turned around and even waved to the teacher, saying, "Teacher, it seems that your school needs to strengthen its character education for its students!"

After saying that, without waiting for the other person to react, he nimbly flipped out of the window, grabbed the drainpipe, and slid down to the ground floor in a few quick movements, landing steadily.

"Stop!" The security guard who rushed downstairs shouted and chased after them.

Without looking back, Yu Jin ran off toward the school gate, leaving behind a group of dumbfounded teachers and students, a boy sleeping on the ground, and... Lu Mingfei, who seemed lost in thought.

Chapter 11 Embers: Someone's messing with me!

Today was a very strange day for Shilan Secondary School. They initially thought it was a troublesome student, but later discovered that it was not a student at all, but an outsider.

The situation has escalated significantly. As the city's top school, Shilan Middle School is facing serious consequences if such an incident—an outsider breaking into the school and assaulting students—is left unaddressed, as it will undoubtedly damage the school's reputation. Therefore, the school promptly called the police to address the issue.

The student who was beaten unconscious suddenly woke up during the school doctor's examination and started shouting to find the person who beat him, but it wasn't that easy to find him.

The matter seemed to be escalating, and everyone was thinking about the outsider. But in the process, one person seemed to have been forgotten.

Despite what happened, classes continued, but most students were no longer paying attention, their minds replaying the events of the day.

Lu Mingfei, the one who had been punched in the face, sat silently in the classroom.

Today was supposed to be the day he had a conflict with that student, but it has inexplicably turned into what it is today. He seems to have been forgotten, and no one cares about him. Even the boy who was supposed to fight him has forgotten about him and is only focused on finding the person who hit him.

It's as if he rebelled, leaving himself battered and bruised, yet the world still forgot about him.

It doesn't matter... I'm used to it.

He silently comforted himself in this way.

As the school bell rang, Lu Mingfei silently packed his books into his schoolbag and began his duty for the day.

After most of the students had left the school, he finished cleaning the classroom by himself.

There were originally supposed to be three more students, but they all dumped the job on Lu Mingfei.

The sky was already enveloped in dusk, and the last rays of the sun cast long shadows.

Lu Mingfei touched the injury on his face.

"If I go back looking like this, I'll definitely be bombarded with questions again." Thinking of his aunt back home, Lu Mingfei's expression became even more somber.

In this moment of silent contemplation, Lu Mingfei arrived at a park. Sitting on a stone bench, he looked out at the park's large lake.

Actually, he was more concerned about what his classmate said than the pain on his face.

This will make him keep thinking about it.

"Are they really getting a divorce? Do they really not want me anymore?"
