He intends to use the entire nation of Japan as a hostage to coerce and harm Taira no Harunobu, and even more so, he plans to use all living beings on Japan—humans and yokai alike—as weapons to attack neighboring countries. Most appallingly, to secure his power, he plans to transform all humans into yokai and all yokai into his lackeys, and it seems he is about to win.

The surrounding scenery became a complete blur, impossible to discern clearly. The howling wind battered this colossal object that shouldn't have been in the sky, but it could only be mercilessly crushed and dispersed, leaving behind a mournful wail in the wake of the jet stream.

The video is coming to an end.

Ultimately, the fearless samurai, exploiting the arrogance of Yamata no Orochi, successfully defeated him in his human form. However, his magic circle could not be stopped. To ensure everyone's safety, the safety of Japan, and to thwart Yamata no Orochi's plot, Taira no Harunobu and Yakumo no Kurenai joined forces to modify Yamata no Orochi's magic circle. At his request, Izanami and Amaterasu poured out the power of the two worlds, Yomotsu Hirasaka and the Land of Sunset (Genesis), to send Japan intact to a more distant and beautiful place.

As the images faded, most people were filled with fervor. Having finally grasped the truth, they couldn't wait to join the battle. For a moment, the names Yamata no Orochi and the Tongxin Society became inextricably linked with various verbs and ancestral beliefs. Meanwhile, some astute individuals gleaned many things from the images. For instance, was the so-called Land of Sunset Amaterasu's hidden world? And how much fighting strength did Taira no Harunobu and his group still possess?

Judging from the footage, he doesn't seem as insurmountable as initially thought? Besides, he's definitely still seriously injured...

A tense undercurrent was brewing. But some of the more astute among them believed that Hiraharunobu's decision to release such footage was deliberate! He was deliberately feigning weakness to lure people into making a move! He certainly still possessed considerable fighting power, at least not much weaker than when he fought the Yamata no Orochi!

—Anyway, nobody thinks that Hiraharu Nobu is stronger than he appears in the footage.

This is what Harunobu wanted to achieve.

In Japan, a move like this can't be kept secret, and Harunobu didn't intend to hide it, but that would inevitably lead to someone trying to stop him. Wherever Harunobu was going, the locals certainly wouldn't be happy to have another new neighbor, just as Native Americans wouldn't like white people going to America.

But it's alright, Harunobu will carry on Thanksgiving—if necessary.

In short, there will definitely be people who try to intercept him; these are the people Harunobu is trying to lure out.

He feigned weakness for two reasons: first, he hoped to attract more people to help him establish his authority; second, he was cautious. Although he was already very strong, confidence and arrogance were two different things. Just like the Yamata no Orochi, before this incident, he really hadn't expected that the Yamata no Orochi could be related to the origin of the world.

If even a small country like Japan has a three-legged golden crow and an eight-headed serpent, what about the vast world beyond? The legendary dragons, phoenixes, feathered serpents, the serpent of the central garden, the giants supporting the sky... Would they want to see Harunobu approach? Harunobu hoped they would be hospitable, or at least a little careless.

Harunobu, holding all his wives in his arms, looked at the several streaks of light rapidly approaching from the island nation below.

To his great disappointment, what came was neither a dragon nor a phoenix, but only several wild boars the size of mountains, charging through the air towards Japan as they passed overhead. With their speed, strength, and size, this charge could have easily cut Japan in half, ending the Japanese migration.

Harunobu prepared to draw his sword.

But Artoria let out a long roar and transformed into a colossal dragon that blotted out the sky, its strong, powerful, and sharp limbs easily tearing open the skulls of four wild boars. The last two were turned into fragrant roasted suckling pigs in the scorching dragon flames, falling into the sea and evaporating into a small cloud of mist.

The Red Dragon Queen's appearance was awe-inspiring, but for the many beings lurking in the shadows, it was merely an opportunity to make their move. Even Hiraharu Shin couldn't act; he had to rely on Camelot's red dragon for support—he must be truly injured!

In an instant, although no mythical beasts like phoenixes or dragons appeared, a whole host of creatures such as sphinxes, phoenixes, and elemental spirits emerged. They were certainly not a group, and even their goals differed; the only thing they had in common was that they all wanted to capture Ping Qingxin.

They need to know how Hiraharu Shin managed to use the world's essence in such a lavish way!

They also believed that with their combined strength, they could definitely defeat Hiraharunobu, who had struggled so much even against a single Yamata no Orochi. After all, no matter how strong Hiraharunobu was, he was still just a young mortal.

Then what happened was unexpected by everyone, including Harunobu.

Faced with the onslaught of a large group of enemies, Harunobu's wives, the female swordsmen of the Aozorakan, drew their swords and went into battle. This was to be expected; everyone had anticipated it, and they were wary of Amaterasu and Asuka, of Lucifera and Ilias. But they were not wary of Hirai Yukiko, Hojo Amu, and Hirai Koneko; they were not wary of Tachibana Nako, Tachibana Yuzu, and Tachibana Seiko; and they certainly weren't wary of Saten Yoko, Hanazawa Nana, and Tsuchimikado Haru…

So when the Sphinx was pierced by a lightning-fast blade, the feathered serpent was devoured by a swift, the song of Kasuga Kage completely shattered the siren's chorus, and Minamoto Yuki Sakura broke through the shadows of the underworld, everyone was stunned.

Qingxin was also confused. No, how did my wife become so strong in just a few days?

Although he gave his wives a little more cheat code after he had completely mastered the system, isn't that a bit too much?

This is not an exaggeration. The reason the system can use the dojo facilities to increase the disciples' learning speed is actually because it allows the disciples to indirectly come into contact with the origin of the world. Others may be imitating others blindly, and they may not even be learning from famous masters, but the disciples of Qingkong Hall directly learn from the most fundamental founder of the school, and they are taught one-on-one.

Once Qingxin fully mastered the system and gave them a cheat code, they would no longer be learning from the founder, but would directly become founders themselves, learning all the techniques from scratch—just like Qingxin was directly empowered.

After a few days, the female swordsmen of Qingkong Pavilion had all become as brave as Qingxin.

The development seems a bit too good.

but I like it.

Chapter 667

The author has something to say:

Author's note: It's finished! Hooray!

Final remarks

It’s over!

I started publishing the book on March 15th of this year, and it's now finished. The entire book contains over 1.56 million words. Although it's not as long as the two million words I initially envisioned, it's still my longest book and my best-performing one. I want to thank all the readers for their appreciation and support, and thank Wuxin for his guidance and help; otherwise, this book would never have been published.

Now let's talk about the content of the book. This book wasn't originally structured this way. It was more like the fighting style of Demon Slayer, which is more like a traditional swordsman. The initial concept of the monsters was more like the demons in Demon Slayer, who couldn't coexist with humans at all. However, due to my personal writing style and my own preferences, I changed it to be more traditional.

The consequence was that some parts of the framework deviated, requiring modifications and adjustments; the outline underwent many revisions in the later stages.

As the title suggests, the main plot was originally intended to focus on Harunobu training his disciples and defeating monsters. However, due to the issue of combat power, a logical flaw was created—if Harunobu is so powerful, why would he send his disciples out to fight?

If this logic can be bypassed, then there's another issue, which is my problem, concerning screen time and length. If I were to write about raising disciples, then the disciples would inevitably have to take up a lot of screen time and length, which would reduce the screen time of the protagonist, Qingxin. Although ensemble writing isn't a niche genre anymore, I was still worried about whether my writing skills could handle it, so in the end I chose not to take that risk.

The most obvious change is in the third volume, which takes place in Osaka. Originally, the plan was to have three parallel storylines: Harunobu in Osaka, Tsuchimikado Haru and the Onmyoji, and the conflict between the disciples left behind and the samurai and yokai. However, the storyline of the disciples left behind was ultimately cut, and Tsuchimikado Haru's storyline was only briefly mentioned.

Even so, Volume 3 is still a very long volume in this book. If it were written as originally planned, it would probably have to be two to three hundred chapters, and Harunobu's role would be greatly reduced. I was very stressed and uncomfortable writing it at the time, but I accepted the consequences of my choice. I just hope everyone enjoys reading it.

To elaborate a bit more, what I personally found most unsatisfactory about this book was the character development of the female leads. Due to the sheer number of characters and the reasons mentioned above, I felt I didn't give them enough depth. Aside from the erotic scenes, they lacked substantial character development, resulting in almost no character arc. It's truly embarrassing.

Therefore, the next book will probably not have so many female characters; it will likely be limited to single digits. The goal is to create enough excellent female characters so that everyone, big or small, can feel the joy.

Finally, regarding the new book, as mentioned before, I have two ideas, both of which are harem novels.

One is a fantasy/xianxia (fantasy/martial arts) genre, the popular fairy + yandere type, and it already has a promising start. I'll see if it works after I have a go at it with Wuxin.

Another one is a Western fantasy genre, a witch + cultural invasion type, which is a book I've wanted to write for a long time. If I hadn't written that book, I would have written this one instead. But as usual, there's nothing that feels like a good entry point or pacing for the plot, and the audience for Western fantasy, even on this site, doesn't seem to be as large as historical fiction or crossover anime.

Lastly, I'll be writing some weird and wonderful side stories later, so feel free to check them out if you're interested!

In conclusion, thank you for reading this far. Wishing you all a Happy New Year in advance!

White feather.

Side Story: The Fall of Izanagi

In Gensokyo, Izanagi suddenly felt uneasy, as if something was amiss. But she remained completely sealed away, unable to do anything… no.

Harunobu had previously lifted the isolation of Gensokyo from her so that Izanagi could inspect her ascension ritual, which allowed her to still contact the ascension ritual she had personally designed and arranged. And now, the very ritual that had gone wrong was the one causing the problem.

Orochi launched his Japanese Kamikaze Project. What was originally intended as a ritual to help Izanagi devour Izanami and Taira no Harunobu turned into a special ritual that blew Japan away. The energy flowing through it was no longer simply the energy of the earth's veins and Izanagi's creative power, but also a portion of the source energy that Orochi obtained by accelerating its own growth.

This shocked Izanagi greatly, angered him, and made him feel a little ashamed.

Orochi usurped control of her ritual using the power of creation, but that wasn't a big deal to her; at most, it was a matter of misjudging people. The main problem lay with Izanami. If she didn't teach Orochi how to control his special divine power, even if she threw the power of creation in front of him, he wouldn't be able to use it.

But the fact that the ritual had been altered, and so cleverly and superiorly, was quite a blow to her. Add to that the fact that Orochi had been right under her nose the whole time, practically doing it right in front of her, and she hadn't even noticed, and this wasn't just a minor setback, but a slap in the face.

Think about it again. If Taira no Harunobu hadn't been able to defeat her, and she had successfully begun the ascension ceremony, then Orochi would have suddenly activated the contingency plan he had left behind. In that case, she wouldn't have been able to become a true god; she would have been lucky to even survive.

Thinking of this, Izanagi felt his cheeks flush red, and it was as if a small, bright red ball had appeared on the tip of his nose.

What a shame.

He lost face in front of so many of Taira no Harunobu's wives, including Izanami, Amaterasu, Asuka, and Taira no Harunobu himself!

As Izanagi thought about this, she felt unbearably hot all over, and felt ashamed and indignant—no, why was her body really so hot!

Izanagi snapped out of his self-pity and looked at her hands. Her already fair hands had become even redder, as if they were on fire. But the initial shock was short-lived; once Izanagi calmed down, he quickly discovered the source of the change.

It was still her ritual.

Her ceremony has been altered again!

Moreover, not only was the ritual altered, but the energy poured into it also increased dramatically. So much so that even though she was sealed away, lost control of the ritual, and was thrown into another hidden world, her body was still affected by that energy. Being a spirit, she was inherently susceptible to the influence of various magical forces, which is why she is in this situation now.

The person who modified this magic circle is called Yakumo Kurenai.

When Izanagi saw this signature at the center of the ceremony, she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose. Of course, she knew that Yakumo Kurenai was Harunobu's wife, and she also knew that she was a genuine fox spirit who especially liked to act young.

She was even more unhappy. The ceremony she had placed so much hope in had been tampered with by two different people, and not just one, but the other was her former subordinate and cannon fodder, and the other was her current love rival.

Once Taira no Harunobu returns after defeating the Yamata no Orochi, she'll definitely be teased again... Damn it, who's her rival in love!

Izanagi rubbed her cheeks, ceasing her thoughts on trivial matters and focusing on battling the chaotic ideas in her mind. She had discovered the methods Harunobu had left in her mind, and she didn't want to become Harunobu's star slave, so she had been striving to resist Harunobu's corruption.

As for the ritual and the Yamata no Orochi, Taira no Harunobu could defeat even her in Takamagahara, so how could the Yamata no Orochi possibly be his match? Instead of worrying about such pointless things, he should think about how to deal with the ridicule and ostracism from others later—no, wait!

Izanagi straightened her mind again and firmly denied having any feelings for Taira no Nobu.

During those days of ultimate humiliation, her contact with Qingxin was far too frequent and intense, so intense that even now, fresh, pure milk still lingers in her paradise, relentlessly corroding her. She needs to frequently correct, revise, and adjust her state of mind to maintain a normal worldview, rather than becoming Qingxin's pampered wife and concubine.

That's it

Chapter 668

Time passed peacefully until a light, almost imperceptible footstep approached.

Izanagi opened her eyes sharply and recognized the person who had come. It was one of her two guardians, Hoshino Ruri, the fox ninja from Shiranui.

Seeing Izanagi open his eyes, Hoshino Ruri stopped and relayed Harunobu's words to Izanagi: "I have already shut down my mind. Go and deal with Takamagahara. I'm about to move Japan away. Don't bring Hidden World back home."

Having said that, the pink-haired fox flicked her fluffy tail and turned to go back to play Connect Four with the twins. Izanagi called out behind her, "Why stop when he hasn't even come back? And what's with moving Japan away? And how am I supposed to deal with Takamagahara while I'm here!"

Hoshino Ruri turned her head and pointed at Izanagi: "Your seal has been broken. Just go back to Takamagahara. The lord is too busy to deal with you right now. If you clear your mind again, you should be able to get rid of his mental attacks."

After saying that, Hoshino Ruri returned to the twins' side, lazily sat down cross-legged, and picked up a handful of white stones, throwing them at the board. The twins immediately grabbed a handful of black stones and threw them back. The black and white stones collided in the air, but none of them landed on the board, so the board remains empty to this day.

Izanagi glanced at her two guards, then at her body, which was no longer sealed. She could sense her current strength; although it wasn't as powerful as before when she had the ritual and the blessing of Takamagahara, her combat strength was no weaker than Amaterasu in her normal state. This was because she now possessed a wealth of energy overflowing from the ritual, which she could transform into the power of creation. With the power of creation, she was still the creator goddess Izanagi.

But was Hiraharu really so kind as to let her go?

It's not going to be some kind of appeasement tactic. The moment she leaves, her thoughts will take the opportunity to erupt, and they'll use this as leverage to further corrupt her mind, making her willingly become Ping Qingxin's little wife.

She certainly didn't want this, and she longed to return to Takamagahara. Back in Takamagahara, with the door locked, she could continue hiding there until the end of time, until she had gathered enough power again.

But she can't just leave like that; it's too suspicious, there must be something fishy going on.

Izanagi sat there, the seal on his body gone, his mind free of distractions, yet his movements became increasingly cautious.

She could feel that she was not corrupted by her thoughts.

But she was certain that she was still being consumed by her thoughts.

How could a lecherous man like Taira no Harunobu possibly let her go? Besides, she looks exactly like Izanami. Even if it's just to avoid revealing Izanami's secret, he couldn't possibly let her go!

There must be a ghost!

Izanagi was certain of this, until Izanami suddenly popped out and kicked her out of Gensokyo with disgust: "Go back to your Takamagahara! Don't waste Harunobu's time!"

Izanagi didn't dodge, but before she was kicked away, she grabbed Izanami's calf and dragged her along. Once they were both in the mountains of Izumo, Izanagi solemnly raised all the questions raised earlier, saying with an air of "there's only one truth," "You were definitely trying to lower my guard so you could take advantage of me!"

Izanami was utterly speechless at Izanagi's claims and refuted them point by point: "First, Harunobu only lifted your seal, he didn't say you were free. Go and settle things in Takamagahara, then come back and wait for Harunobu's instructions. Second, Harunobu has already lifted the mental manipulation on you because he doesn't want to use mind control to find women. Finally, what's wrong with you that you think Harunobu will let you go? Are you just being horny and worried about being abandoned by Harunobu?"

Izanami's barbed rebuttal left Izanagi speechless. The main problem was that Izanami had immediately left to work after speaking, leaving Izanagi unable to find her to refute her. Moreover, Izanami wasn't wrong. Even if Taira no Harunobu had lifted the seal on her and allowed her to return to Takamagahara, what difference would it make? She had been defeated even with the ritual's enhancement; another attempt would only result in defeat. And with the system's power, would Harunobu truly be kept out of Takamagahara?

Yama-no-Tō: Hello.

Izanagi stood there stunned for a moment, then suddenly opened a portal of light and returned to her faithful secluded world, Takamagahara.

A thin, yet not as dense as before, white mist floated merrily, welcoming Izanagi's return. Izanagi waved her hand, summoning the Yata no Kagami, and used it to direct her gaze towards Harunobu's location. She saw the dazzling ball of light, and also Harunobu, who was beginning to be entangled by bands of light, and understood why Harunobu had entrusted her with controlling Takamagahara.

But she still didn't understand why Taira no Seijin suddenly stopped his mental attack and released her. Could it be that he really liked her? Or was it really a matter of principle? She didn't think Taira no Seijin was a conventional person, especially since his wives had all been subjected to mental control—his Zanpakuto.

Forget it, if I can't figure it out, I'll stop thinking about it for now.

Izanagi lay supine in the air, white mist drifting in all directions with her thoughts, controlling the Takamagahara. The familiar surroundings and relaxed mood made her feel much lighter, and her thoughts, no longer troubled, suddenly opened up.

She suddenly thought—regardless of whether Ping Qingxin liked her or not, did she like Ping Qingxin?

Or, if she wants to find a man, what kind of man would she want?

Strength, appearance, character...

Izanagi's expression gradually became strange. The more she thought about it, the more the answer that came to mind displeased her. But even if she deliberately nitpicked, she couldn't find a second suitable candidate.

No, no, she doesn't necessarily need to find a man. She's lived for thousands of years, why does she have to find a man?

So it's fine if Taira no Harunobu leaves you in Gensokyo or Takamagahara and goes off to live a carefree life with Izanami, Amaterasu, Asuka, Artoria, Taira no Sachiko, Hosho Amu, Koneko, and others, right?

Of course not...

Of course nothing...

Of course it matters!

Ping Qingxin was her promotion material, and she was the first to discover it. She had been looking for him since he was still in his mother's womb. Why should she just watch from the sidelines?
