After a week of hard work, the house was finally repaired. The ditch surrounding the house was also completed yesterday. Now, this bamboo and wood cabin stands out conspicuously and warmly in the jungle. It not only provides everyone with a shelter from the wind and rain, but also serves as a testament to their joint efforts in this unknown world.

To reduce moisture, a layer of bamboo was laid on the ground, covered with bamboo netting. The only drawback is that, due to the rough workmanship, it makes some noise when walked on. The advantage is that you can simply lay down some dry grass and sleep directly on the ground.

Next up is the much-anticipated housewarming ceremony.

Standing in front of their new home, Jiu Xiao surveyed the result of everyone's hard work with satisfaction, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment. He turned to look at the girls, each of their faces beaming with joy and pride, as if all the hard work and fatigue had vanished in that moment.

"Alright, everyone, you've all worked so hard. Let's celebrate tonight and move into our new home!"

Jiuxiao announced loudly, his voice filled with barely concealed excitement.

The girls responded enthusiastically, their cheers echoing through the jungle. Everyone eagerly returned to their previous camp and began packing their belongings. There wasn't much to pack, really, since everyone had suddenly arrived in this world and had practically no personal possessions.

That evening, a simple party was held to celebrate moving into the new house.

At the party, Jiu Xiao and the girls sat around a bonfire in front of their new home, their excited faces illuminated by the roaring fire. Although they didn't have a lot of ingredients, they still managed to prepare a simple yet heartwarming dinner with what they had.

"Everyone has worked hard these days."

As he spoke, Jiu Xiao stood up and made a toasting gesture with a cup made of bamboo tube.

"Cheers to our first official new home in this world!"

""cheers!""

The girls also raised their glasses in response.

Although there was no alcohol or soft drinks, just plain boiled water, after a cup, everyone's cheeks flushed slightly in the firelight.

Perhaps this is what they mean by "the wine doesn't intoxicate, but the person intoxicates themselves."

Sania put down her bamboo cup, her eyes filled with nostalgia for the past. She said softly, "I never imagined that we could build such a home from scratch in such a short time. Although it is simple, every inch of land and every leaf here is a testament to our sweat and hard work."

"Yes, yes, it's all thanks to Brother Jiuxiao. If it weren't for Brother Jiuxiao, I..."

As she spoke, Fate's eyes dimmed slightly, and unpleasant memories flooded her mind.

Seeing this, Jiu Xiao quickly sat down next to Fate, gently embraced her, and tenderly stroked her golden hair.

“It’s all in the past, isn’t it? We are a team, and everyone is crucial. Moreover, you deserve the most credit and contributed the most to building the new house so quickly. If it weren’t for Fate, I’d probably still be cutting bamboo with Sania right now.”

Jiuxiao spoke gently yet firmly, his eyes filled with recognition and encouragement for everyone. His words were like a warm current, warming Fate's heart and making everyone present feel a sense of belonging.

Sania chimed in with words of comfort, "Yes, Fate, you're a great hero to us."

Chapter Thirty-One: Revisiting an Old Place

The campfire continued to burn, its light illuminating everyone's faces and reflecting the determination and conviction in their eyes. Sania continued, her voice tinged with emotion: "Yes, we are a team. Every difficulty, every challenge, brings us even closer together. This cabin is the best proof of our unity and hard work."

Although the unknown and dangers of this world still exist, as long as we keep moving forward, the road will continue to extend.

So, guild leader, what exactly are you doing, guild leader!

Putting aside the image of overgrown grass in his mind, Jiu Xiao stood up, walked to the campfire, picked up a burning branch, and drew a bright arc in the air.

"Look, just like this branch. Although it is just a piece of firewood in the campfire, as long as it keeps burning, no matter how weak it is, its light can still be a beacon illuminating our way forward."

Jiuxiao pulled out two more burning firewoods, held the three firewoods in his hands, and the firewood burst forth with an even more dazzling light.

The blazing firewood in Jiuxiao's hands dispelled all the gloom in Fate's heart, bringing a genuine smile to her face.

'Our journey hasn't even begun. So, to begin being your true self, say goodbye to your past self... because I'm too cowardly, and will inevitably be filled with endless confusion and distress. But that's okay. This is also part of me.'

I will protect this smile! Draw your swords, my lords!

As night deepened, the party slowly came to an end. Jiu Xiao and the girls returned to their newly built cabin, lying on the bamboo netting covered with hay, savoring the hard-won peace and warmth.

The dried hay has a sun-dried smell, mixed with a faint bamboo fragrance, which makes people relax and immerse themselves in this tranquility.

The next morning, having achieved their initial small goal, everyone slept in late. When they woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.

Today, Jiuxiao and the others planned to return to the seaside camp to retrieve the supplies they had left there, along with Sania's equipment. After breakfast, the group only took some boiled water and dried meat before hurrying down the mountain. The round trip was quite far, so they needed to make the most of their time.

While passing through the forest, Jiuxiao discovered a grove of trees bearing bean pods.

Jiuxiao stopped and looked at the trees with curiosity. Bean pods hung on the branches, the long pods were slightly yellow, and there were many thorns on the trees.

"Could this be a soapberry tree?" Jiuxiao muttered to himself.

Upon hearing this, Fate and Sania also came over and carefully observed the trees.

"Hmm? What is a soapberry tree? Is it edible?"

Sania reached out and plucked a pod, carefully peeling it open to reveal the beans inside.

Jiuxiao gave Sania a light chop to the neck.

"Eat, eat, all you ever think about is eating. You can't eat this stuff, but it's very useful. If it really is soapberry, then it's incredibly useful."

Back in his ancestral home in China, Jiu Xiao remembers barbers who would come to the villages to cut hair, and they would use soap pods to wash the hair. Jiu Xiao also saw his grandmother use soap pods to wash clothes; they produced a light lather and were a natural detergent.

Fate also picked one out of curiosity and played with it in her hand. Having lived on a highly developed planet before, she had never seen such a thing before.

Jiuxiao didn't say much, because he wasn't sure if it was actually soapberry. After instructing everyone to collect some, he noted the location and continued towards the seaside camp.

They continued their journey, and by noon, they were almost out of the forest. They found a large tree to rest under, where they could drink some water and eat something.

Just then, Sania's detection magic suddenly reacted.

"Something's wrong!" Sania whispered, her expression turning serious. Sania focused her mind, unleashing her full detection magic; a subtle fluctuation of magical energy radiated outwards from her.

Jiuxiao and Fate immediately became alert, looking around, trying to catch any unusual signs from the dense forest. Fate instantly transformed, gripping the "Lightning Battle Axe" tightly, ready to fight at any moment.

"Sanya, what have you detected?" Jiuxiao asked in a deep voice, his hand unconsciously tightening its grip on the axe.

Sania frowned, organized her thoughts, and replied, "There are multiple targets moving rapidly towards us from behind—ten, fifteen, twenty-one! The targets are less than five hundred meters away!"

Upon hearing this, Jiu Xiao's heart tightened, and he quickly analyzed the current situation. They were on the edge of the forest, with no suitable hiding places in the surrounding environment. If they went out of the forest, the view would be much wider, making it even harder to conceal themselves.

"The enemy is very fast; we expect to make contact within three minutes!" Sania's voice rang out again, tinged with urgency.

"Fate, take Sania and fly up to the tree, then come down and help me up!" Jiuxiao decisively ordered.

I've tried it before; Fate can carry people in flight. It's just a bit awkward, though—a little girl who's only 1.5 meters tall, carrying a boy who's much taller than her in a princess carry... Plus, the flight speed is greatly reduced, and the magic power consumed increases exponentially.

Reaching the top of a tree, Jiu Xiao breathed a sigh of relief. Most predators don't climb trees, and being high up makes defense easier. As long as they aren't surrounded or ambushed, both Fate and Jiu Xiao have a fighting chance against anyone except Sania.

Especially the former, whether he wants to fight or leave is entirely up to Fate, provided that he doesn't have those two "burdens".

Jiuxiao scanned his surroundings, his gaze sharp as a hawk's, trying to catch the approaching figures in the dense forest. Below, on the forest path, the leaves rustled gently, creating an exceptionally tranquil atmosphere, with only the startled birds in the distance foreshadowing the approaching storm.

"coming!"

As Sania gave another warning, a series of rapid and dense footsteps and deep roars came from ahead, growing ever closer.

Jiuxiao gripped the axe tightly, his eyes fixed on a group of dark figures that suddenly darted from afar. The figures rapidly approached, gradually revealing their true forms—a pack of ravenous wolves chasing a dying tiger. Their eyes were cruel and ferocious, and drool dripped from their mouths; they had actually taken a tiger as their prey!

Jiuxiao carefully observed the jungle king, who was being chased to the point of having nowhere to run or hide.

Hey! Goodness, it's someone I know.

Looking at the charred fur on its head, Jiu Xiao and Sania immediately recognized this tiger, which Jiu Xiao had previously ambushed.

Only Fate looked completely bewildered by Jiu Xiao's statement.

Chapter Thirty-Two: Fate: I got up and killed him in one move, what's there to say?

Jiuxiao's words carried a hint of amusement. He looked at Fite and explained, "We've encountered this tiger before. Back then, we didn't have the fighting power we have now. We used a little trick to snatch a prey from its mouth and gave it a 'little' lesson in the process."

Making a gesture of pointing to the universe, Jiu Xiao explained the whole story to Fate in detail.

Upon hearing this, Fate's face showed a look of sudden realization, followed by a hint of worry: "Then wouldn't it hate us to the core now?"

At this moment, the wolves and tigers on the ground also spotted Jiu Xiao and his group in the tree. They all stopped their pursuit and looked warily at the uninvited guests who had entered the forest. The latter, in particular, upon seeing Jiu Xiao in the tree, disregarded his predicament of being hunted by the wolves and roared at him.

Jiu Xiao squinted, carefully examining the king of the jungle, whom he had previously severely injured. Half of its face was charred black, and one eye was closed, leaving it unclear whether it was blind. The wound on its abdomen, inflicted by the wild boar, had begun to heal, but the gruesome scar was still visible. The tiger had lost a lot of weight, and its fur had lost its former luster.

"This guy is really tough; it actually survived such serious injuries," Jiuxiao sighed.

It's estimated that it didn't catch much prey while recovering from its injuries, which is why it ended up in this state. This is what they mean by a tiger fallen into the plains being bullied by dogs.

Although it was a pack of wolves that hunted it.

Sania frowned and asked in a low voice, "Jiuxiao, what do we do now?"

Fate also looked at him, asking Jiuxiao to make a decision. With everyone's current combat strength, it wouldn't be too difficult to wipe out all these beasts.

However, Jiu Xiao did not intend to kill them all. It was not because he was overly compassionate, but because it was unnecessary. He would not be able to handle so many prey if he killed them all.

After a moment's thought, Jiuxiao said, "Let's scare the wolves away, then we can kill this tiger. As the saying goes, 'If you don't cut the weeds at the root, they'll grow back in the spring breeze.' Before, we didn't have the conditions to be sure of defeating it, but now that we're confident we can kill it, we can't leave any hidden dangers. I feel like this thing is quite vengeful."

Jiuxiao didn't want to be bothered by such a big guy every day.

Upon hearing Jiuxiao's command, Fate unleashed a crescent-shaped energy slash towards the wolf pack's location. The slash struck the ground with a deafening roar, and the resulting energy wave sent several of the nearest wolves flying, crashing heavily into trees.

The wolves, terrified by the sudden attack, scattered and fled. The tight encirclement crumbled instantly. They howled in fear as they fled the dangerous place. Perhaps Fate deliberately controlled her strength, because the few wolves that crashed into the trees were not seriously injured. They got up and joined the main group in their escape.

Jiuxiao was also shocked. Was this the strength of an AAA-level aerial combat mage? (Fate was AAA-level in the original series and AS, S+ in the third series, and SS.) Although he could only exert 20% of his strength, his terrifying control over power and instantaneous explosive power were truly amazing!

Jiuxiao nonchalantly withdrew the burning flames from his hand. "I'm sorry, brother is a flying demon, I'm so sorry QAQ..."

Damn it (〃>皿<) I was blown away by her coolness again!

Sania looked at Fate with a hint of envy; such power would probably be unmatched in her world.

After the wolf pack dispersed, the jungle returned to its usual tranquility, leaving only the wounded tiger standing alone. Its eyes flashed with resentment and anger, but even more so with a deep fear of Jiu Xiao and his group.

But hatred blinded it; if it weren't for these two-legged beasts, it wouldn't have ended up in this state. It glared fiercely at Jiu Xiao and the others, not scattering like a pack of wolves—its last act of defiance.

Jiuxiao slowly leaped down from the tree. With Fate backing him up, there was nothing left to fear.

Although the last person to say that is now dismembered, right, senior?

Seeing Jiuxiao land on the ground, Fate followed him towards the wounded tiger. The tiger's muscles were tense, ready to put up a final stand, but there was no fear in Jiuxiao's eyes.

"Stop struggling, you have no way out."

Jiuxiao said coldly, the axe in his hand gleaming with a cold light, reflecting on his resolute face.

The tiger let out a low roar, trying to intimidate the crowd with its voice, but Jiuxiao just sneered and continued to approach.

Fate stood aside, initially intending to defeat it in one move, but seeing Jiuxiao's eager expression, she abandoned the idea. She merely watched her surroundings warily, her magic already prepared to support Jiuxiao at any moment.

When Jiuxiao was only a few steps away from the tiger, he leaped up, channeling all his magical power to strengthen his body to its limit. His axe cleaved towards the tiger's neck like lightning, carrying an unstoppable force.

Although the tiger tried its best to dodge, its exhausted body was powerless to resist. Jiuxiao's attack was also extremely fast; the tiger only had time to slightly turn its head before the axe blade grazed its neck, leaving a deep bloody gash. Despite the tiger's desperate resistance, its efforts seemed utterly futile against Jiuxiao's precise and swift attacks.

Although the blow didn't kill it outright, it completely shattered its fighting spirit. A flicker of despair crossed the tiger's eyes; it knew it was powerless to change its fate, and any further struggle would be futile.

Jiuxiao landed steadily, blood dripping from the axe in his hand. His eyes were resolute and cruel as he coldly watched the tiger slowly losing its life force. Before long, the tiger, having lost too much blood, collapsed weakly to the ground, struggled a few times, and then lay still.

Looking at the tiger on the ground, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes. He was not a bloodthirsty person, but in this dangerous and unknown world, he had to act decisively. For the sake of those he cared about, regardless of whether the other party was human or beast, he could not show any sentimentality.

"Clap clap clap."

The sudden applause brought Jiuxiao back to his senses.

"As expected of Brother Jiuxiao, you killed him with a single blow. You are also an outstanding warrior."

Watching Fate shower Jiu Xiao with praise, Jiu Xiao felt a complex mix of emotions. He turned to look at Fate, a faint smile playing on his lips, but tinged with a hint of helplessness. Compared to Fate, Jiu Xiao's fighting prowess was still far too inexperienced.

Sania also came to the ground and asked with concern, "You two have worked hard. Are you hurt?"

Jiuxiao shook his head to indicate that he was alright, but his gaze never left the tiger that had already lost its life.

“We’re alright, Sania. It’s just… this battle made me realize once again the gap between myself and Fate. It seems that from now on, we’ll have to rely on Fate to protect us.”

His words carried a hint of teasing, and his gaze toward Fate held a touch of flirtation.

Upon hearing this, Fate's face flushed slightly, and she became a little shy. The proud female warrior instantly transformed into a soft and gentle girl, showcasing an adorable contrast. If the situation allowed, Jiu Xiao would have loved to hold her in his arms and give her a little cuddly.

P.S.: No prize for guessing game, but a new character will be appearing tomorrow. Guess who it is!

Chapter Thirty-Three: A Third Blossom!

Fite walked to Jiuxiao's side and gently took Jiuxiao's hand.

"Brother Jiuxiao, please don't tease me. It's all thanks to everyone..."

"Haha, sorry, but I'm serious. Fate-chan is truly our hero. If it weren't for you, things would have been very difficult to handle today."
