What is the Dharma Realm?
In folk beliefs, the "Dharma Realm" is understood as a vast domain encompassing all things in the world and supernatural forces. It is not only the universe in the Buddhist sense, but also covers the world of various deities, ancestors, ghosts, and other beings in folk beliefs.
In folk religious practices, the concept of the Dharma realm is used to explain and guide daily religious rituals and spiritual activities. For example, through acts such as sacrifices, chanting scriptures, and praying for blessings, people believe they can communicate with deities and ancestors in the Dharma realm and receive protection and guidance.
You can think of it simply: the Dharma Realm is somewhat like the divine kingdom of the gods.
As mentioned before, truly powerful deities actually exist in the real world and are worshipped and communicated with by shamans, but this does not mean that deities do not exist in the inner world.
Luo Chuan believed that the inner landscape was very similar to the subspace, where all the information and thoughts of all living beings were projected, making it equivalent to the "spirit world" in mysticism. This was also why Luo Chuan believed that the inner landscape could be used for divination.
Therefore, there are gods here, but they are weak and not powerful. The place where these gods live is called the Dharma Realm.
For example, the Yinshan Ghost King, worshipped by the Yinshan sect, resides in the Yinshan Dharma Realm.
The Yinshan Ghost King of the Yinshan Sect may be a god-like ghost created by gathering faith, just like the "God Mask," but this action is also projected into the inner world, forming the Yinshan Dharma Realm.
Many sects in the Eastern Lands have noticed the existence of the Dharma Realm within the Inner Realm. They all have control over these Dharma Realms, and many rituals and even talismanic spells borrow the power of these Dharma Realms. The deities worshipped by the shamans in Northeast China also open shrines within the Inner Realm, and these shrines are the Dharma Realms unique to the deities.
Loran created his own "Paranirmitavasavartin" by absorbing the power of the Buddhist Dharma Realm "Paranirmitavasavartin" in the inner realm as a foundation. After all, what ordinary monk would borrow the power of Paranirmitavasavartin? Luo Chuan didn't have to worry about people coming to his door for using it.
Some weak and dying religious sects can be devoured, but some religious sects that are still in a powerful stage cannot be touched without permission, otherwise it will be easily discovered that the box has been opened.
However, Luo Chuan didn't have so many concerns about his daily life.
He planned to linger around Xiao Rizi for a while and test the waters.
The supernatural forces in Xiao Rizi are mainly divided into these schools:
One is Shintoism, the state religion of Japan, with shrines throughout the country. However, in terms of sheer power, Shintoism is completely outmatched by Japanese Buddhism. The rise of modern Shintoism was largely due to the support of the Japanese Emperor and government. In a sense, various priests, shrine maidens, and even Onmyoji (yin-yang masters) can be categorized under Shintoism.
Secondly, there is Buddhism. In a sense, Japanese Buddhism can be considered the largest religion in Japan, with the Tendai and Shingon sects being the most influential. These monks also played a role in the invasion of China, which led to a counterattack from the three local Putuo sects.
Then there are the samurai and ninjas. The ninjas need no introduction; the blood debts inflicted on the Eastern Land of Extraordinary Beings by the Hieiyama ninjas are something the Tang Clan and the Lü family remember very well. The samurai are essentially practitioners of various martial arts styles, including swordsmanship, cross-pattern spear techniques, aikido, karate, and so on.
There are also some local small sects, such as the Ghost Path Sect, an ancient and mysterious witchcraft sect.
Of course, we also need to be aware of the true number one force in our daily lives—mold. With that factor present, no one can guarantee that Behemoth's hand won't reach here; in fact, it certainly will—the only question is how far it will extend.
Luo Chuan, through the spread of the "Otherworldly Demonic Mantra" in Japan, explored all their major forces.
The conclusion was that we could launch a direct attack.
Firstly, the ordinary people in the world don't pay much attention to the inner vision; it's the Onmyoji who truly understand it. The astrology practiced among Onmyoji involves the inner vision, but the Onmyoji have gradually declined in modern times, and even fewer people are proficient in the most esoteric astrology.
Furthermore, Shintoism's structure is far too loose. Initially centered on nature and ancestor worship, it lacked a unified theoretical framework. Its doctrines relied heavily on oral myths (such as the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki) rather than systematic scriptures, and for a long time, it failed to develop an independent philosophical system.
It wasn't until Buddhism was introduced that Confucian and Buddhist concepts were borrowed to construct theories in order to distinguish them from Buddhism, but they never broke through the pantheistic nature of "animism".
The Shinto shrine system has long been fragmented, lacking a centralized religious institution. Before the Meiji Restoration, shrines were mostly affiliated with Buddhist temples, even forming a hybrid form of "Shinto and Buddhism combined".
It was not until the State Shinto period that the government unified the management of shrines through administrative means, but its essence remained a political tool rather than religious integration.
Therefore, Shintoism in Japan is a hodgepodge, with all sorts of things mixed in, and it has distinct regional characteristics, which is why the concept of eight million gods came about.
Even the current largest force in the world of supernatural beings, the "Fish-Dragon Society," cannot unify the entire Shinto religion. Some Shinto shrines don't even have any supernatural beings.
Therefore, Luo Chuan's plan was clear: start with Shintoism, surround the upper levels from the bottom up, and defeat them one by one.
After finalizing the plan and objectives, Luochuan launched its attack.
From the day Luochuan officially destroyed the Little Day Dharma Realm, he wreaked havoc in Japan for a total of seven days. These seven days were later referred to by Japanese supernatural beings as "The Week of the Fall of a God".
The colossal, mountain-like King Mara stood on the outer edge of an illusory realm. He wore a royal crown, had three piercing eyes, and his upper body was bare but adorned with countless magnificent ornaments. He had four arms, one holding a knife, the other a wheel, and the other two arms crossed over his chest.
Luo Chuan unleashed a punch that shattered the Dharma Realm, seizing the Golden Kunluo God residing within. He then refined it into a golden elixir using Samadhi True Fire and consumed it. The Golden Kunluo God was a guardian deity of the sea, specifically protecting fishermen and maritime safety. Moreover, this god had no direct connection with the imperial family, was not valued by the authorities, and didn't even have a single extraordinary priest. They were completely unaware that Luo Chuan had devoured the Golden Kunluo God.
Of the eight million deities worshipped by Xiao Rizi, only a few dozen could remain in the inner realm, and these few dozen had already been mostly consumed by Luo Chuan.
After Luochuan destroyed the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which enshrined Tokugawa Ieyasu, and devoured their so-called "Tosho Daigongen," a Kurahashi family Onmyoji working for the Yulonghui finally noticed something was wrong.
The great Onmyoji Abe no Seimei left behind two branches of descendants: one was Tsuchimikado, who inherited his shikigami (spirit medium) techniques, and the other was Kurahashi, who inherited his astrological skills. However, the Tsuchimikado family followed the central government's path and prospered through close cooperation with the Tokugawa shogunate. The Kurahashi family, on the other hand, relied on local Shintoism and gradually declined.
Nowadays, there are fewer and fewer people in the world of supernatural beings who are proficient in astrology, and only a handful have grasped its essence.
Following the report from the Onmyoji of the Kurahashi family, the Fish and Dragon Society fell into confusion.
Trolls shattered the Dharma realm? They captured the gods?
Are they joking? What Dharma Realm? What gods?
Many extraordinary individuals, represented by the Fish and Dragon Society, do not have a clear understanding of the Dharma Realm. The gods enshrined in their shrines are often spirits that exist in reality, including nature spirits and the malevolent spirits of the dead, which is similar to the practices of witch doctors and shamans in China.
As for the idea that faith can be projected into the Dharma realm within the inner vision, most extraordinary individuals are unaware of such advanced knowledge.
Therefore, when the Onmyoji of the Kurahashi family submitted the report, it did not attract the attention of the Fish and Dragon Society. Some people even thought that the Onmyoji below were exaggerating and making a fuss.
Everyone had heard about Xiao Rizi's administrative efficiency. By the time they came to their senses, Luo Chuan had almost completely devoured Xiao Rizi's divine spirits, who knows how long ago.
When the new era arrived, they felt deep regret for losing the Dharma Realm, and thus, in grief and indignation, they chose the name "One Week of the Fall of the Gods" to express their mourning.
However, none of this concerned Luo Chuan anymore; he simply enjoyed himself immensely. Moreover, through the mysterious connection between the inner realm and reality, he discovered that he could actually influence, to some extent, the "gods" enshrined in the real world by the shrines corresponding to the Dharma realms he had devoured.
This is brilliant. The Japanese are no longer a threat. Luo Chuan can cripple nearly 60% of their abilities in the world of supernatural beings with a single thought, which is equivalent to holding the leash of the Japanese in his hand.
Luo Chuan smiled slightly and began his daily dealings with forces such as Behemoth and the Emerald Society.
Chapter 79 Under One Person: The Beginning of the Great Era of Reflection
"I'm thinking, maybe this is how you can practice this style of boxing."
In a martial arts school in Guangdong Province, a well-built young man is demonstrating a new boxing technique he has recently devised to his father.
Chen Liming stared wide-eyed at the set of boxing techniques his son was performing, his face full of disbelief.
Although this set of boxing techniques bears obvious similarities to the Chen Family Boxing taught at his own martial arts school, it contains many subtle variations and improvements. These improvements not only make the boxing techniques more profound, but also showcase a unique style and charm.
As a relatively minor style of martial arts, Chen Family Boxing has never attracted much attention. However, the emergence of this new style has given Chen Liming a glimmer of hope. If this style can be promoted and popularized, Chen Family Boxing might finally make its mark in the martial arts world.
However, Chen Liming knew very well that his son was of mediocre talent. It would be extremely difficult for him to master the Chen family boxing style to his own level, let alone innovate and improve upon the old boxing style. Chen Liming never dared to even think about such a thing.
Therefore, Chen Liming really couldn't understand where this set of boxing techniques came from.
Could it really be that a peerless master, having nothing better to do, came here specifically to help his foolish son improve his boxing techniques? Just thinking about it makes it seem absurd.
At this time, all over the world, a large number of extraordinary people are also questioning their existence, just like Chen Liming.
In the jungles of Southeast Asia, a group of people are running for their lives, as if a ferocious beast is chasing them.
"Hehehe! You villains, did you ever think this day would come when you killed my whole family?"
A boyish voice, feigning maturity, came from behind the group.
This group of people completely ignored everything around them, focusing only on fleeing desperately, as if something extremely terrifying was chasing them. However, at that moment, a strange, blood-red blade of energy slashed down from behind like lightning, so fast that no one had time to react.
This crimson blade of energy, like a demon from hell, carrying boundless killing intent and a bloody aura, slashed straight towards the fat, strange man at the very back. It looked as if this terrifying blade of energy was about to cleave the fat man in two at the waist.
At this critical moment, the fat, strange man suddenly gritted his teeth and used all his strength to forcefully execute a hand seal. In an instant, countless venomous insects surged out of the pouch he carried. These insects exuded a chilling aura, clearly having become exceptionally ferocious after being fed and refined by the strange man for a long time.
These venomous insects swarmed towards the crimson blade energy, their sheer number resembling a black cloud of poison. Such a massive swarm would likely devour even a gigantic elephant in an instant.
However, unexpectedly, the moment the crimson blade energy made contact with the swarm of insects, a series of crackling sounds were heard, and the originally ferocious poisonous insects instantly turned into countless pus and blood. Instead of scattering everywhere, this pus and blood seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, all converging on the crimson blade energy.
As the pus and blood merged in, the crimson sword energy not only did not weaken, but became even stronger, and its color became even more scarlet, like a river of blood.
Faced with this sudden turn of events, the fat man's face showed extreme terror. He tried to dodge, but it was too late. The blood-red blade energy, like a red lightning bolt, struck him with lightning speed.
With a scream, the fat alien was instantly cleaved in two by the blood-red blade energy. Even more terrifying, his corpse began to decompose rapidly the moment it was split open, as if corroded by some kind of strong acid, turning into a pool of blood in the blink of an eye.
"Hehehe! How does the Blood-Transforming Divine Blade that I, Yang Mao, devised taste?"
"Who would have thought that my Yang family's Transformation Yuan Blade Technique could produce such incredible changes?"
In the forest, a boy of about sixteen or seventeen years old, with an unusually thin build but an unusually long head of jet-black hair, wielded a long sword, unleashing countless blood-red sword energies.
The sword energy, upon touching flesh and blood, turned it into blood and absorbed the blood's essence to grow stronger. Soon, all of these people perished.
The boy gazed at the horrific hellish scene he had created, his expression a mixture of crying and laughing.
"Dad, Mom, little sister, I've avenged you."
Amelica, in a supernatural research institute under Behemoth's name.
A researcher suddenly had a burst of inspiration. He grabbed his notebook, picked up a pen, and began to frantically deduce the results.
"That's right, the experimental procedure needs to be changed here; the intensity of the stimulation current needs to be reduced."
And here, the cell concentration is too high; it needs to be lowered.
And here, the alkalinity needs to be even higher.
...........
Haha! I feel like I understand everything now.
Nearby, several research students looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Has Dr. Arthur been favored by the so-called god Thoth again?"
During this period, Dr. Arthur, the project manager, would suddenly have a burst of inspiration every now and then, and then the research progress would advance wildly. Arthur said that the wisdom of the god Thoth had descended into his mind.
In the East, in a quiet room of Xiao Zizai's home, a temporary worker, Xiao Zizai sat cross-legged on a futon.
To outsiders, Xiao Zizai appears to be a gentle and calm middle-aged man. But in reality, he is a born psychopath with a strong, hidden desire to kill, viewing murder as both an art and an instinct.
For this reason, he devoted himself to Buddhist practice, trying to control his innate killing desires through Buddhist teachings.
However, he ultimately failed, even implicating his own master, Master Jiekong, the abbot of Lingyin Temple.
Now, he is a temporary worker at Nadutong Company, doing shady jobs for the company, his only goal being to obtain the legal right to kill.
He was keeping something from his superior, Dou Le: during the recent crackdown on the Quanxing sect, he had inadvertently heard the "Hehua Zizai Tianmo Mantra" being played.
He did not disclose this to avoid being held accountable by the company.
Recently, while pondering how to overcome his innate bloodlust, he suddenly had a flash of inspiration.
If Buddhist methods alone cannot solve the problem, what would happen if we incorporated Taoist methods and practiced both Buddhism and Taoism?
According to Buddhist views, one's innate bloodlust ultimately stems from the rampant three poisons: anger and ignorance.
Therefore, Master Jiekong taught him to counteract the three poisons according to the Buddhist principles of "precepts, wisdom, and concentration," namely, upholding precepts and stopping killing (precepts), cultivating compassion and resolving anger (concentration), and observing causes and conditions to dispel ignorance (wisdom).
However, he lacked the wisdom to maintain his precepts; he could only keep them, but he could not calm his mind or gain true understanding.
In the Taoist view, all things originate from Qi. Even the Three Corpses, which correspond to the Three Poisons, can evolve from Qi. Isn't Tu Junfang, the Corpse Demon of Quanxing, an example of this?
Since that's the case, why don't I use Qi to evolve my inner demons, and then use my innate bloodlust to kill them, using killing to stop killing?
As Xiao Zizai continued to ponder, his mind seemed to be divinely aided, and he devised a method called "The Sutra of Reciting the Heavenly Demon's Rebirth".
First, a single thought gives rise to ten thousand demons. Then, using Taoist methods, one forges one's murderous thoughts into a killing energy, using this killing energy to slaughter ten thousand demons, allowing one's innate, excessively strong desire to kill to slaughter and consume each other through internal strife.
Others need to avoid internal strife, but Xiao Zizai is the opposite; he needs to engage in internal strife.
Since the internal conflict, I feel like my mental state has improved a lot.
Although the desire to kill continued to regenerate, each time it regenerated, Xiao Zizai would activate the "Reciting the Heavenly Demon Rebirth Sutra" to deplete its internal energy, which allowed Xiao Zizai to experience a rare moment of inner peace.
As he continued to immerse himself in internal strife and killing, he failed to realize that his murderous intent had not diminished in essence.
Simply using killing to stop killing is nothing but indulgence; the lust for killing will only grow stronger with each killing. The reason he felt a sense of inner peace is because his killing intent was being purified.
The "Recitation of the Heavenly Demon Rebirth Sutra" appears to be a Buddhist method for subduing demons, but in reality, it is still essentially a Taoist alchemical practice.
Xiao Zizai's so-called "using killing to stop killing" is actually stripping away the acquired Yin (acquired bloodlust tainted by impure thoughts) to reveal the innate true Yang (innate killing intent free from impure thoughts).
Just as Gao Ning said to the old Celestial Master, the other party's murderous intent was exceptionally pure, and no malice could be sensed. This was because, as the old Celestial Master's life progressed, his murderous intent, as one of the human thoughts, was also purified.
"Heaven gives birth to all things and man, but man has nothing to give to Heaven. Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!"
Pure, innate killing intent filled Xiao Zizai's mind. This was an innate killing intent untouched by any acquired desires. Now, Xiao Zizai no longer killed to satisfy his perverted desires, but was a killing god and demon practicing the innate killing path.
Who says the Asura Path isn't a Path? And that Jade Immortal isn't an Immortal?
Countless thoughts are constantly echoing in the human brain.
These thoughts are not entirely random thoughts; occasional flashes of inspiration actually come from these thoughts.
However, most people either fail to grasp this fleeting inspiration, or, although they do, are limited by their knowledge base and thinking ability, and are unable to transform that momentary inspiration into practical wisdom.
But it's okay, isn't it because we have the great philanthropist Loranlo to help us?
With the help of the Heavenly Demon Network, as long as a brilliant idea flashes through your mind, the Great Benefactor Luo will help you seize it and transform that inspiration into wisdom.
Loran sat upright in the inner realm of the Otherworldly Realm, where countless thoughts and inspirations flickered.
