“His shield has disappeared; now we just need to be the last straw for that big guy.”
Mortarian took a deep breath and saw the siege tower next to him billowing smoke.
"I won't take care of you."
The captain laughed when he heard Mortarian's words.
May I shake your hand?
Mortarian ignored the audacious mortal. He raised the face in his hand and looked at the siege tower in the distance, which had been completely destroyed. The sound of gunfire could still be heard clearly from there.
The captain began to gather the remaining Nukelian warriors nearby, more than thirty of them, and they began to set up a line of fire in an orderly manner. Another fighter jet crashed from the sky.
"Aren't you afraid of death?"
Motalian suddenly spoke up and asked.
“Of course I’ll pay you, Your Highness Mortalian! I’m terrified of death! No human being is immune to the fear of death!”
"But His Highness Angron told us that he is also afraid of death, and that is an imperial demigod! Fear is fear, but we just need to face him!"
The captain's composed demeanor made Mortalian take a serious look at him for the first time—a middle-aged man with an arrogant gaze.
These men would be heroes even in Barbarossa.
Mortarian thought to himself.
......
Scattered but orderly gunfire rang out inside the alien siege tower, along with the roars of the aliens and the furious shouts of the Nukelians. Mortarian swung his scythe, doing his best to hold off the alien attack for these mortals. Waves of aliens surged out from inside the siege tower.
Mortalian knew that he and his companions had run right into the alien forces that had come to their aid!
He can keep fighting, but what about these mortals?
The captain and his fire control assistant were not far from Mortalian. Their laser guns had long since run out of ammunition. The captain's face was covered in blood, and he didn't know if it was his or someone else's. The fire control assistant stuck his dagger into a gap in the alien armor.
The next moment he was thrown out and crashed into a building with blasphemous writing on it. The fire control operator's body twitched a few times on the ground before he died.
"May your soul return to its sovereign!"
The captain's sorrowful voice echoed across the area. He and another Nukelian soldier used a rocket launcher to knock down the alien. With a serious expression, the captain pulled out the fire control dagger and plunged it into the alien's head.
"go ahead!"
The captain grunted; he saw the endless stream of alien creatures rushing in not far away. Three? ◎〔·Five〕∶
"Your Highness Mortarion, leave this place to us!"
The captain spoke.
"That's not my task."
Mortarian blinked, a faint breathing sound emanating from the respirator. The tip of his scythe was already stained red with blood. Leaving these mortals here would only lead to their deaths, even though Mortarian knew that sometime in the future they might still die in battle.
Mortarian dropped his scythe to the ground and looked at the Nukelian soldiers standing around him.
"This is your mission."
"Go and get it done, soldiers."
Mortarian's voice was loud and clear, brooking no refusal.
"The rest of you! Come with me! You few stay here and guard this place with Prince Mortarion!"
The captain yelled, and then he led several Nukelians up the stairs.
Mortarian watched the curtain rise on the stage play and smiled silently.
The scythes sliced through the bodies of these alien creatures, scattering blood, flesh, and entrails across the ground. A mass of people began to gather around Mortarian, and the gunfire from the Nukelians abruptly ceased at some point.
For the first time, Mortarian wondered if mortals could succeed.
Mortarian crushed a groaning alien on the ground, then looked at the Nukelian soldiers who had died fighting alongside three aliens not far away. With the will of a mortal, he managed to take the three aliens with him.
This resilience made Mortalian inexplicably feel that these guys must be Barbarosians.
"boom!"
With a loud roar outside the siege tower and a heavy object falling to the ground, Mortarian knew that the captain and his team had succeeded in their mission. After Death dealt with the last enemy and strangled the alien with chains, Mortarian headed for the stairs.
At the very top of the siege tower, Mortarian saw the captain kneeling on the ground.
"Congratulations, mortal."
Mortarian walked over to the captain and congratulated him.
"Oh, Your Highness Mortarion, may I shake your hand?"
The captain's voice was very weak as he slowly extended his hand.
Motarian hesitated for a moment, then reached out.
Human flesh and blood touching metal and steel.
"Another prince has shaken my hand. He truly deserves to die..."
The captain's voice gradually faded as Mortarian gazed at the pilot of the Angron Axe, who had been with him for most of the time.
"Mortarion!"
Typhon's voice rang out, and he saw Mortarion gazing at a mortal who had recently died.
"Typhon."
Motarian looked at his company commander.
"Perfect timing! Let's continue the slaughter!"

Volume 1: Chapter 245 (Chapter 233) Dead men don't applaud you!
"What is the Sixteenth Defense Sector doing?!"
Don't give me those excuses!
Gol was speaking to General Nukelia at the front, his voice filled with anger. The sixteenth defense zone near the Black Gate had already been breached by the aliens, and nearby warhounds and death guards were fighting fiercely.
The situation on the entire battlefield has been going on for nearly five days. At the beginning of the war, the human empire had the advantage, but in the following days, after the ammunition was rapidly depleted, Geer is now anxious because of his duties.
Amidst the chaotic communication nodes, the hoarse roars of commanders and the cries for supplies filled the air, putting immense pressure on Geer.
"Death Guard First Dalian can go to support the Sixteenth Defense Zone."
Mortarian looked up. He had just returned from outside the defensive line two days ago. After breaking through the enemy lines, Mortarian led the Death Guard to help the mortals defend the surrounding lines, in contrast to the mortals who could only hit their heads with fire sticks now.
The Space Marines' equipment is currently only barely sufficient.
"Your Highness Mortarion, your troops need rest."
"I am a very resilient person."
Mortarian raised his eyes and looked at Gel.
"Yes, I admit that, but the other side has sent out three more Titans and dozens of siege towers, so it will still be a tough battle."
Geer pulled up holographic images of various battlefronts.
"Lord Fulgrim."
Gol looked at Forgrim beside him, his tone very respectful. Forgrim nodded slightly and looked at Gol, signaling him to say what he was going to say next.
"I need you and your troops here to hold off the enemy's advance."
Gel pointed to the tactical map.
"As you wish, Commander Ger."
"I must admit, you are the best legion commander I have ever seen, bar none."
Fugrim was lavish in his praise.
Ger did not comment on this at all.
......
"Get down!"
"Get down!!!"
Ovilier, general of the 105th Sun Auxiliary Army of Nukelia, is struggling to maintain order on the battlefield, where the blood of the Nukelians flows. The trembling recruits, the former rebels of this world, are like pigs waiting to die in his eyes, utterly disorderly.
Most of his command structure has been wiped out!
These recruits had never experienced interstellar warfare before. Often, when the Xenomorphs used their cannons to bombard them, these guys would run around like ostriches!
"I still have to catch these damn things!"
Ovilier cursed angrily. Like most Nukelian generals, they preferred to command personally on the front lines. After all, every warrior who could become a general was one of Nukelian's best.
"Line up! Line up!"
Ovilier roared as he saw the alien charging towards him in the distance. He turned around, grabbed a deserter, slapped him, and pointed at his face, shouting loudly.
"Look!"
"The aliens are charging at us!"
"Because of you! Our defenses have been disrupted, and you feel fear of death? We came all the way from Nukelia to your world not to sacrifice ourselves and shed blood!"
"If you don't even have the faith to defend your homeland, I can give you a bullet!"
Ovilier drew his sidearm and pressed it against the deserter's temple.
The deserter's expression gradually calmed down.
Although the fear was still there in his eyes, in Olivier's eyes, at least he could hold the gun!
"Go back home, don't disappoint me!"
"Everyone! Those with guns, pick them up and form three lines! Lie down! Kneel down! Stand up! If I find out you still have bullets in your guns before you die, I'll inscribe words of shame on your tombstones!"
Olivier roared, putting away his bolt pistol, which was long since out of bullets. [〉☆■『∩]
Ovilier blew the whistle, and the Royal Guard quickly assembled towards him.
"For Nukelia! For Angron! Charge! Fight them back!"
"Return to the Common Ruler!"
The courage of the Nukelians illuminated the entire battlefield, and Ovelil led his troops directly towards the hordes of aliens.
fighting! fighting!
The chainsaw hummed as Ovilier slashed it into the chest of an alien, panting heavily. The entire position began to fire in unison.
In the distance, a modified Angron Axe was frantically crushing the surrounding aliens with its powerful engine until it was stuck in flesh and blood.
"Fire! Fire!"
Ovilier's voice was unusually hoarse. He saw a war hound being attacked by more than twenty times its number of aliens. The Ninth Squad warrior had killed all the aliens around him, but Ovilier knew he was exhausted, both physically and mentally.
But then a large number of aliens still rushed over.
"Surround them! Surround them!"
Ovilier blocked an attack from an alien, and he could hear his bones cracking.
"Bang bang bang!!"
As the bolter guns fired, Ovilier looked up at the sky and saw a gunship, unlike the other Stormbirds, firing wildly in the air. The leading giant jumped off the gunship.
The next second, it wiped out all the aliens around it.
"Well done!"
When Ovilier saw Forgrim appear, he immediately burst into laughter, but his laughter soon faded.
He saw that Fugrim was focused on killing the aliens around him, completely ignoring the aliens in other directions.
Ovilier slashed the alien's chest with his chainsaw sword, and foul-smelling blood gushed out.
He watched as his guards, working with the Ninth Echelon warriors, killed the surrounding aliens, and he strode towards Forgrim's direction.
"The empire's prince!"
Ovilier showed no courtesy whatsoever as he approached Forgrim.
