"I didn't expect it to be you," Candela said with a smile.

"Since Qi Yan arrived in Dosoles, so many unexpected things have happened."

Ernesto had no time for pleasantries and went straight to the point: "I hope we can cooperate. You will send your men to rescue the citizens of Dosolesne with all your might."

In return, I'm willing to persuade my father to give up resistance and end the war.

Candela rested her chin on her hand and pondered for a moment before posing a profound question:

Is your father still alive?

Ernesto took a deep breath, not angered by Candela's tone, and said seriously:

"Qi Yan's actions were not aimed at the ship. With my father's abilities, he wouldn't have been drowned by the tsunami. I will find him and persuade him. I am confident of that."

"In that case, I naturally have no reason to disagree."

Candela stood with her hands behind her back, a smile on her face: "As the leader of the rebels, I will imprison him, but for your sake, I am willing to give him the best treatment within the rules and will not make things difficult for him in the slightest."

As for you, I can disregard everything, suppress the criticism, bring you back to my side, and groom you as my successor.

You will become the next mayor of Dosoles.

“No need,” Ernesto refused outright.

His refusal surprised Candela once again.

Ernesto explained, "I am the son of the rebel leader, and it is not appropriate for me to be in the rebuilt Dosoles. I have already found a new home."

Rhodes Island, huh?

Although Candela's question is phrased as an interrogative sentence, the tone is quite certain.

A hint of regret crossed her face:

"It's so rare to find such an ambitious and capable young person like you in the country of Bolivar, yet we couldn't keep you here."

But that makes sense. You deserve a wider world of your own; you shouldn't waste your time in this despairing land…

“You’re wrong. I’m only leaving Bolivar temporarily, but wherever I am, I’m a Bolivian.”

Before Candela could finish speaking, Ernesto interrupted her directly: "One day, I will return to this land, and I will stand before everyone, firmly walking on the right path."

The seawater beneath us was constantly flowing.

The old man and the young man gazed at each other silently. They represented two generations of Bolivar, yet they represented the same future.

Candela said softly, "I will wait for you here until you are ready, and then I will entrust everything to you."

Ernesto replied, “That day won’t be long, and I’m not anything special. What you need to do is not wait for me, but wait for all the Bolivarians.”

Candela smiled and nodded slowly.

Seeing this, Ernesto turned around and waved to the team behind him.

He had already explained the upcoming arrangements to these people on the way here.

No one spoke; they all silently rode their jet skis, merging into Candela's group.

Candela and Ernesto watched silently as these people passed by, carefully memorizing their faces.

These people, though a drop in the ocean among the vast population of Dosoles, are as precious as diamonds to this nation.

They are hope.

After the handover was complete, Candela turned her gaze back to Ernesto, her tone suddenly changing:

"So, what do you think of Dosoles now?"

Ernesto: ?

“This is what I’m thinking,” Candela said seriously, “while the seawater hasn’t completely receded, we should hurry up and shut down the drainage system to leave the seawater in the city.”

A city built on water is truly unique in this land, and it will surely attract countless tourists to visit and experience it.

I think Qi Yan is truly Dosorres's lucky charm!

"……as long as you are happy."

The doctor stood on the hotel's rooftop, silently gazing down at the brand-new seascape of Dosoles.

Cast Iron stood beside him, reporting on the current situation in Dosoles:

"Pancho's whereabouts have been found, and he has been persuaded by Ernesto himself to surrender."

The Bolivarians among the rebels did not put up much resistance, but the Letanians fared much worse. In their attempt to protect what they had gained in the chaos, they were badly beaten by Candela and her men... though there were no major casualties.

Most of the nobles who were thrown from the ship into the artificial sea were also rescued. Those guys were incredibly lucky; or rather, those who could become nobles were no ordinary people.

“I’m not really interested in that. Let’s talk about our own people,” the doctor said.

Cast Iron nodded, steering the conversation back to Rhodes Island:

"We contacted teams near Dosoles and they have already started rescue and relief efforts in the city. With Sussuro there, as long as people are still breathing, there won't be any problems. It's just that she's so busy she's almost crying."

Red has already told Dr. Kal'tsit that you've been found, and according to her, Dr. Kal'tsit is so angry she's started spouting riddles... which means you're finished.

Without saying a word, the doctor walked silently to the edge of the rooftop, leaned over the railing, and looked down.

Cast Iron, somewhat puzzled, asked:

"What are you doing?"

"Let me see how high this is. I wonder if jumping down will send me off without any pain."

"Doctor, calm down!"

Startled, Cast Iron rushed forward and grabbed the doctor, saying, "It's all water down there, you won't die from the fall!"

"Cast Iron, you've changed. Before, after you finished training me, you would thoughtfully prepare nutritious meals for me!" The doctor was overcome with grief.

"Judging from Dr. Kal'tsit's attitude, Doctor, you'll probably only be able to eat Hibiscus's nutritional meals from now on... Hey, don't jump, don't jump, just kidding!"

Just as the two were entangled, a fiery red Liberi rushed onto the rooftop.

"Have you seen Mostima?" Fiameta asked, looking frantic.

“She wasn’t sent flying by Qi Yan’s punch.” The doctor pointed to the sky. “She flew far away. Knowing her as I do, she’ll probably get up and start having fun wherever she lands.”

"Damn it, you left me again!"

Fiameta roared and turned to leave the rooftop.

No sooner had Fiameta left than Shuiyue rushed up, treating the Doctor like a savior:

"Let me hide! Eureka is looking for me!"

The doctor asked, somewhat puzzled, "You and Eureka seem to get along quite well, so why are you avoiding her?"

“I wouldn’t say anything normally, but today I just came into contact with the waters of Dosoles,” Shuiyue said pitifully. “I’m so afraid that if I touch Eureka, I’ll just go back to the main group.”

"Shuiyue, are you on the rooftop?"

Just as I feared, Eureka's voice suddenly rang out, and at the same time, her footsteps appeared at the top of the stairs on the rooftop.

The next second, her signature pink curls appeared at the top of the stairs.

Eureka peeked out, scanned the rooftop, and asked in confusion:

"That little girl named Rafiella just said that Shuiyue walked this way, so why isn't she here?"

The professor and Cast Iron stood side by side on the edge of the rooftop, waving their hands repeatedly:

"I don't know, I didn't see him, he's not here."

"Why are you all so nervous?" Eureka squinted her eyes suspiciously.

"It would be strange if we weren't nervous to see you!" the doctor said matter-of-factly. "Who knows if your appearance on this rooftop means it's about to collapse?"

"You... hum!"

Eureka wrinkled her nose, turned around and left angrily.

After she left, the doctor breathed a sigh of relief and turned to say:

"It's too dangerous, get up here quickly."

As he spoke, he leaned over the railing and reached out to pull Shuiyue, who was hanging on the edge of the rooftop, up.

Before he could grab Shuiyue, the rooftop railing suddenly snapped with a crack.

The PhD student fell headfirst off the rooftop.

Chapter 269 Running away

6:18 p.m. Clear skies, visibility 21 km

Rhodes Island ships.

Kal'tsit signed the week's financial statements and casually placed them on a corner of her desk, waiting for the young woman from the logistics department to come and pick them up.

Just as she was about to continue working on other documents, Kroos burst into the office, making a ruckus.

“Red is back!” Kroos rushed to the desk. “She’s also pushing a mummy in a wheelchair.”

Too lazy to waste words with Kal'tsit, the Blood Demon who talks a lot of nonsense, Kal'tsit simply got up and walked out of the office.

Kroos stuck out her little tongue and quickly followed.

When the two arrived at the medical department, Warfarin was shooing away any nosy bystanders.

Qi Lin stood in front of the wheelchair, lost in thought as she looked at the doctor who had transformed into a mummy.

Kal'tsit walked over, somewhat surprised.

Kroos wasn't lying!

However, after giving the Doctor a few quick looks, Kal'tsit's cat-like face immediately fell, and she began to ramble on:

"Rhodes Island is a pharmaceutical company, and the medical department is a core department of Rhodes Island. Do you understand this information sufficiently?"

The indiscriminate use of medical resources and the waste of medical supplies is an injustice to some people suffering on this land.

Please do not challenge our boundaries as doctors, otherwise I will view your mental state negatively and begin treatment.

'Was it a bit reckless of you to fake an injury in front of a group of doctors?'

'Don't waste bandages on me if you're not injured!'

'Get up right now, or I'll make your fake injury real!'

The Doctor took a deep breath, quickly translated Kal'tsit's riddle, and hurriedly stood up from his wheelchair with a dry laugh.

"Don't get agitated, I'm really injured."

The doctor slowly untied the bandages from his body, revealing his swollen and red wrists.

He sighed and said, "You have no idea, I offended a human-shaped natural disaster because of my careless talk. If it weren't for a boy named Shuiyue who was quick-witted and pulled me back in time, I would have been sent to Susuluo for help."

Kal'tsit frowned:

"You were attacked? Why didn't Qi Yan protect you?"

"That white-haired dog dares to bark at me, God U?" the Doctor sneered. "Even if he were there, he'd just be another splash in the water."

Seeing that Kal'tsit still didn't understand him, the Doctor tossed aside the bandage in his hand and shrugged, saying:

"Don't worry, because Hong is a bit impatient, she brought me back first. The others will return to the island in a few days, and then you'll understand everything."

"How many people did you bring back this time?" Kroos asked with a grin. "Just let me know in advance so I can have the logistics department arrange dormitories for them."

"Not many, just five, three men and two women."

Despite Kal'tsit's almost murderous glare, the Doctor calmly recounted the gains of the trip.

Kroos nodded and took out her terminal to make the arrangements.

Seeing these two people brazenly arranging new recruits right in front of her, Kal'tsit's face darkened even more.

However, she wasn't really angry about it. She turned to Qi Lin and Warfarin and instructed them:

"You all continue with your own affairs. Leave the doctor's situation to me."

Qi Lin opened her mouth, clearly wanting to ask something, but in the end she didn't say anything and silently followed Warfarin away.

After Qi Lin walked away, Kal'tsit looked at the Doctor again:
