The temperature gradually dropped, and the wind coming from the north became increasingly cold, even carrying a few snowflakes.
Two figures, one tall and one short, slowly stepped into the vast white ice field.
In the southern part of the Ursus kingdom, a massive city stands firmly on the land.
A group of Sarkaz mercenaries with strange black horns on their heads stood in a circle. Even in this cold land, they were dressed in ordinary clothes, and some even had their arms exposed.
"Garsen, the operation has begun. From now on, we will seal off the entire Chernobog and prevent anyone from entering or leaving."
"You should call me Captain, W."
A tall, masked Sarkaz figure held a radio communicator, his voice filled with rage.
A haughty female voice came from the other end of the communicator:
"Of course, but I'm not going to call you that. Why don't you try coming to find me?"
Garsen took a deep breath and snorted coldly:
"I hope you calm down and obediently follow Talulah's arrangements. Don't cause me any trouble, or I'll pluck your tentacles and feed them to the dogs."
"Do you think a dog is like you, eating anything?"
The reply from the other end made Garsen want to crush the communicator.
"Captain, don't pay any attention to that crazy woman. If she dares to cause trouble, Talulah will punish her herself."
Some Sarkaz mercenaries spoke up to persuade them.
Otherwise, with these two at odds constantly bickering, the operation simply couldn't proceed.
Garsen nodded and hung up the call immediately.
He looked at his men and gave them instructions:
"The area we're responsible for is in the southwest of Chernobyl. There aren't many people passing through, but we still need to be vigilant and not let even a fly slip in."
"I'm not a fly, can I go in?"
Just as the Sarkaz all agreed in unison, an incongruous question suddenly broke in.
Garsen and the Sarkaz were stunned for a moment, then turned their heads to look at a huge rock not far from them.
Behind that boulder, a handsome young man with white hair and black eyes was peering out at them.
Chapter 004 Good riddance, let's pop the champagne!
Garsen paused for a moment, then suddenly realized:
"Damn it, our plan has been overheard! Don't let him get away!"
All the Sarkaz drew their weapons.
The sounds of swords being drawn and crossbows being nocked blended together. Garsen grabbed his enormous sword, which resembled a door panel, and leaped up to slash at it.
Qi Yan rolled over without any regard for his image, emerging from behind the rock and narrowly avoiding the attack.
The boulder was cleaved into pieces like tofu under Garsen's greatsword.
"Damn, buddy, I didn't hear anything."
Qi Yan got up from the ground and protested his innocence.
Garsen questioned:
"How could you not have heard anything at such a close distance?"
Qi Yan angrily defended himself:
"I was so busy listening to that little girl's swearing voice on the communicator, who would listen to you, this rough old man?"
To be fair, although W is a bit crazy, her soft voice is really sweet.
"Are you kidding me?" Garson's voice rose several decibels in anger. "Didn't you hear everything?"
"Nonsense! All I remember is that you wanted to be W's dog, and you even coveted W's little tentacles. You're despicable!"
Qi Yan shouted, his neck stiff.
"You go to hell!"
Garsen trembled with rage, roared, and swung his sword at the enemy again.
He felt that if he continued talking to this strange Rupert, his Oripathy was about to flare up.
A clear female voice came from behind Garsen.
Garsen's charge toward Qi Yan halted, and pale blue frost visibly condensed at his ankles.
"Are there any accomplices?"
Garsen turned around abruptly and discovered a small figure huddled behind the boulder, two pale blue lights flashing in her palms, proving that she was the one casting the spell.
Just then, a sound like a stone being crushed reached Garsen's ears.
Immediately afterwards, he was punched in the chest.
Garsen felt as if he had been hit by a car traveling at full speed, and with a muffled groan, he was sent flying backward.
Unfortunately, the frost beneath his feet pulled at the crucial moment, deforming his backward flight. With nowhere to dissipate the force, he ended up headfirst, carving a deep trench in the ground.
The broadsword in his hand flew out of his grasp, but Qi Yan caught it firmly in his hand.
"Your captain is dead. Why don't you all lay down your weapons and surrender?"
Qi Yan swung his broadsword around as if it had no weight, striking a rather awkward pose.
None of the Sarkaz had expected their captain to be defeated so quickly; some hadn't even finished cocking their crossbows.
"Cough cough, don't listen to his nonsense, I'm perfectly fine!"
Garsen pulled his head out of the ground, spitting out a mouthful of mud, so angry that he wanted to bite Qi Yan to death one bite at a time.
"Go! Avenge the captain!"
The other Sarkaz dared not hesitate any longer and charged forward, brandishing their weapons.
As for Qi Lin, who was hiding to the side and curled up like a ball, no one paid any attention to her.
These Sarkaz are all seasoned veterans who are good at assessing situations. Although Qi Lin's Frost Originium Arts played a significant role in the recent exchange, it was still not enough.
Of the two, Qi Yan, whose pupils suddenly turned gold, was more threatening.
Qi Yan, facing a swarm of Sarkaz charging towards him, let out a startled scream:
"Why aren't you hitting my little sister? I'm suing you for gender discrimination!"
The only response he received was a crossbow bolt that appeared out of nowhere.
Qi Yan grabbed the crossbow bolt with his backhand and angrily plunged it into the neck of the Sarkaz who was near him.
Under the terrifying power of his golden eyes, the crossbow bolt pierced Sarkaz's body to the root, and a large amount of blood gushed out.
Seeing this, the other Sarkaz twitched slightly under their masks, but their movements were not disturbed, and they slashed at Qi Yan from all directions in perfect unison.
Faced with the incoming weapon, Qi Yan neither dodged nor avoided it. Instead, he unleashed his arms and legs, charging forward like a madman.
Crimson blood gushed out as if it were free, drenching the Sarkaz who were close by.
Qi Yan ignored his wounds and burst into laughter:
"I am the Scourge of the Sarkaz!"
Amid his laughter, all the Sarkaz who were stained with his blood screamed in agony, desperately wiping the blood off their bodies.
But the bloodstains, like a leech, relentlessly burrowed into their bodies.
In no time, all the Sarkaz who were close by and spoke in unison died with screams of agony.
If someone were to examine them, they would find that their bodies appeared to have been melted by something, riddled with holes.
On this land, the Sarkaz are a cursed race.
They are born with extraordinary physiques and Originium affinity, making it easy for them to awaken powerful Originium Arts. However, this is accompanied by a terrifying Originium infection rate.
Of every ten Sarkaz, ten to nine are infected.
In this race, the uninfected become the outcasts, an existence that is neither fortunate nor heretical.
And among these Sarkaz who surrounded Qiyan, there was clearly no such heretic among them.
Covered in blood, Qi Yan slowly walked towards the remaining Sarkaz armed with crossbows.
His gruesome wounds healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"What...what is this? He's a monster!"
The Sarkaz crossbowman trembled, too afraid to continue his attack.
Upon witnessing this bizarre scene, Garsen made a quick judgment and pulled out the communicator from his waist.
"This is Garsen. We are under enemy attack and request backup..."
"Calling for help when you can't win is a good habit, and I'm happy about that, but I don't like it when you use it on me."
Qi Yan's blood-soaked figure appeared like a ghost before Garsen.
The next moment, with a swift movement, the knife fell, and Garsen's arm, which was holding the communicator, was severed at the shoulder.
An indescribable pain surged into Garsen's mind, causing him to let out a trapped beast-like howl before Qi Yan stomped on him, abruptly cutting off his scream.
W's excited voice came through the communicator:
"Garsen, Garsen, reply, are you dead?"
Qi Yan hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice and replied in a rough tone:
"I am Garson. I just got my period and am talking nonsense. Nothing has happened here."
There was a long silence on the other end of the communicator.
Even with W's mental state, it seemed that he couldn't quite understand Qi Yan's thought process.
After a long while, W's cheers finally came through the communicator:
"Great, let's pop the champagne!"
Seeing that he hadn't fooled W, Qi Yan kicked Garsen in a fit of anger and cursed:
"You bastard, why doesn't your voice sound like mine? You made me get exposed!"
Garsen felt a surge of blood rush to his head, making him so angry that his vision blurred.
W's voice continued to come through the communicator:
"Kid, hurry up and kill Garsen so I can become captain. Then you run, I'm on my way."
Garsen completely lost his temper and started cursing:
"You son of a bitch!"
"Handsome guys and beautiful girls are talking, you ugly thing, don't interrupt!"
Qi Yan stomped on Garsen's neck, breaking it and ending the life of the former Sarkaz captain.
He then spoke into the communicator:
"Beautiful lady, you've been promoted now. Don't forget me when you're rich and powerful. I'll run into Chernobog, and you chase after me outside Chernobog. It's a deal!"
After saying that, he crushed the communicator.
Looking up again, the surviving Sarkaz crossbowmen in the distance had long since disappeared without a trace.
Qi Lin walked to his side, stopped a few steps away, and asked in confusion:
"If you're going to run away, why did you tell that woman your location? Aren't you afraid she'll betray you and come after you?"
Qi Yan dropped his broadsword and led the way towards Chernobog, explaining:
"I anticipated that she would come after me, so I told her my real target, but she probably thought I was lying to her and deliberately chased after me in the opposite direction."
This time, she was on the second floor, thinking I was on the first, but actually I was on the fifth floor, taking off!
