The townspeople exchanged glances, and finally one of them stepped forward and said:

"Thiago, we're not considering whether there's danger right now."

"Where is Jody?" the townsman asked.

Thiago's eyes suddenly turned fierce: "What do you want to do to Jodi?"

The townspeople, unfazed by Thiago's gaze, spoke with unwavering conviction:

“We all know how the court operates. After this, Granfalo will definitely be purged like it was back then. This time, there’s only one Agor left in the town.”

"You want to push Jody out as a scapegoat to dispel the court's suspicions?" Thiago laughed angrily. "You want to sacrifice a child you watched grow up?"

“Jordi is an Agorian, and no matter what we do, he will ultimately be taken away by the court.”

The townspeople tried to persuade Thiago: "You know very well that the court will not let the Agor people go. Even if you try your best to hide him now, he will not escape the court's search."

Thiago angrily cursed, "You bunch of useless idiots, you're all fools who just bury your heads in the ground and deceive yourselves when you're in trouble!"

Where were you when Marlene and Jody's parents led the workers to repair the Eye of Iberia and rebuild our homes? Where were you when Marlene was arrested by the Inquisition?

If you don't become heroes of this town, no one will ask anything of you. If you turn a blind eye to the downfall of the heroes who built this town, I won't ask anything of you either. But what do you want to do now?

You want to sacrifice the orphans of heroes to save your own lives? You bunch of ticks that practically swarm to suck blood from others!

The townspeople looked rather grim after Thiago's outburst, but none of them chose to leave.

The lead townsman stepped forward: "No matter what you say, Jody's fate will not change."

"You want to find Jodi?" Thiago swung his fist and punched the townsman hard in the face. "Dream on! You won't hurt a single hair on Jodi's head!"

The townsman staggered after being punched, the pain contorting his expression.

"You lunatic! Everyone, attack together! Even without Jody, that guy who adopted the Agors is enough!"

Thiago was so angry he couldn't speak, but he swung his fist at the townsman again.

But this time, a large number of townspeople rushed forward and pinned Thiago down.

"Courtroom, ha ha ha! Courtroom!"

"Look what you've done!"

"You took away the heroes who gave everything for Iberia and Granfalo, but left behind these bastards!"

Thiago was pinned to the ground by the crowd, veins bulging on his forehead, as he angrily shouted curses at everything.

"Quickly shut him up, don't let him bring the court officials here right now!"

The leading townsman covered his face and growled nervously.

Thiago's throat was choked, and finally a wad of cloth was stuffed into his throat, sealing off his last struggle.

His body was dragged and thrown into his home.

Thiago heard the sound of a heavy object blocking the door.

He lay on the cold floor, no longer even feeling any desire for anger.

"It seems you've made up your mind."

A voice suddenly came, causing Thiago to instinctively look up at his living room.

A dazzling halo appeared in his sight as Sarkaz, dressed in Rhodes Island uniform, sat in a chair, wiping his Guardian Gun.

Outcast chuckled and continued:

“You wavering person, the Deep Sea Church will not force you to side with them, because Bishop Liberi understands human nature very well.”

She only needs to wait quietly, until you, the protector of the town, are pushed to the opposite side of humanity by the very people you protect.

Chapter 1030 Sea Cat's New Attempt

Thiago struggled to his feet.

He endured the pain in many parts of his body, pulled the gag out of his mouth, and said in a dry voice:

"Are you from the Amayas?"

"Then who are you? What do you want?"

“I’m just an ordinary Sarkaz.” Outcast finished maintaining the Guardian Gun and tucked it back into his belt. “What I need to do is very simple.”

With this gun in my hand, I will judge all the injustices before me.

"You're going to kill those townspeople?!" Thiago's pupils contracted.

"What are you thinking? They're not worthy."

Outcast chuckled, stood up, and walked over to Thiago.

She calmly gazed at the down-on-his-luck old man before her and said softly:

Do you want to know the truth about the injustices that have happened to you?

Or are you simply looking to vent your anger and make those townspeople who tarnished the hero get what they deserve?

Thiago looked down at the gun at the other man's waist.

He understood that Sakorta had given him two options.

They either completely sided with the Deep Sea Church and became victims of gunfire, or they cooperated with the church to continuously uncover the truth that was buried by the Inquisition.

"Can you tell me why?" Thiago didn't rush to make a choice.

"Rhodes Island and Iberia are cooperating; this is a decision made jointly by Xiao Qiyan and Kal'tsit."

Outcast made no attempt to hide his thoughts: "But Rhodes Island never rejects different opinions. I've been in Iberia for some time now and have witnessed the state of this country firsthand."

A question lingers in my mind, one that belongs only to me… Should Iberia, the Inquisition, receive the friendship of Rhodes Island?

“I’m willing to cooperate with you,” Thiago stated, offering his choice.

"So are you ready?" Outcast asked.

"What preparation?"

"The injustices you have suffered are all illusions constructed from your own self-centeredness; the flames of the court have never been tainted by a single speck of dust."

"...Can you help me find my nephew?"

“I swear to the law and to the protection of the gun that he is safe now and will be safe in the future.”

"I want to find the truth."

There is nothing in the ocean.

Carmen gazed at the ceaseless waves, and her anxiety gradually subsided.

He was genuinely afraid that when he and his companions arrived, they would see a horrifying scene of demons dancing wildly in the waves and along the coastline.

The shapeshifter shrugged and joked:

"The truth always needs to be found by ourselves. Even with Qi Yan's instructions, we can't expect all the answers to be slapped in our faces the moment we arrive!"

Before he could finish speaking, he was so frightened by what happened in the waves that his voice rose several octaves at the end.

Carmen and the others also looked wary and subconsciously took a half step back.

A small head peeked out from the surging waves.

Her long white hair flowed freely in the seawater, and her delicate, porcelain-doll-like face was still covered in water droplets. Her two soft cat ears twitched incessantly, trying to shake off the seawater.

A little girl who looked no more than ten years old emerged gracefully from the water and appeared in everyone's sight.

She blinked her watery red eyes, her gaze sweeping around before finally settling on the shapeshifter.

"Qi Yan above, what have we seen?" the shapeshifter exclaimed in a daze.

"This is……"

Carmen looked at the white-haired, red-eyed girl and felt a strange sense of dread welling up from the bottom of her heart.

That's a reaction called the uncanny valley.

The little girl in front of me looks exactly like any other member of the Felin tribe, both in appearance and physical characteristics.

Anyone who saw it could see that subtle, indescribable sense of unease in the other person's blank expression and eyes.

Ulbian stepped forward, almost instinctively ready to strike.

"Wait, let's figure out the situation first." The shapeshifter raised his hand to stop Ulbian.

Kal'tsit turned to look at Aya, saying nothing, yet it seemed as if she had said everything.

Aya, realizing Kal'tsit's intention, smiled wryly and resignedly stepped forward to try and talk to the humanoid Sea Child.

"what do you want to do?"

Aya stood on the edge of the surging waves and waved to the sea creature.

Hai Si's gaze fell on Aya, and he opened his small mouth, awkwardly trying to pronounce a word:

"I am cute, give me food."

Everyone: "..."

Aya turned her head blankly to look at the others and found that their eyes were no less confused than hers.

"Haisi must have tried countless directions to evolve an individual that fits the aesthetic standards of land-dwellers, just to beg for food?"

The shapeshifter scratched his head: "What is that little newborn doing? Shouldn't it be infiltrating the land, frantically spying on intelligence, and then launching a targeted explosion on the land?"

“You’re right, but could you please not say it in front of the other party?” Kal’tsit said coldly.

You've really gotten used to being called traitors?

Who teaches the enemy how to plan their actions face to face?

"Give me, cute, me, food."

The white-furred, red-eyed Sea King spoke again.

Then she lowered her head, realizing that the sorting method she had just used differed somewhat from what her compatriots had taught her.

She reorganized her speech and said again:

"I am cute, and I am food."

She felt something was off.

After thinking for a while, she finally succeeded in repeating the pronunciation sequence of her compatriots' teachings once again:

"I am cute, give me food."

Everyone: "..."

"The training wasn't even up to par," the shapeshifter couldn't help but tease.

Unfortunately, no one present was in the mood to joke with him.

Carmen turned to Kal'tsit and asked, "With your experience, have you ever seen anything like this before?"

Kal'tsit fell silent.

Seeing that she was lost in thought, no one interrupted her. The shapeshifter silently walked to Aya's side, took out a bag of cookies from his pocket, and casually tossed it to her.

The white-haired, red-eyed Hai Si raised its head, immediately leaped out of the sea, and snatched the biscuit in its mouth.

Only then did everyone see her full appearance.

It is indeed a physical characteristic of a film girl, that is... she is not wearing clothes!

Several men present instinctively lowered their heads to avoid the attention.

Aya and Kal'tsit, however, clearly saw all of each other's actions.

After catching the biscuit, the sea creature seemed to have no habit of using its hands at all. It instinctively shook its head to tear open the biscuit packaging and then plunged into the water to eat.

A series of bubbles rose to the surface of the water.

The sea creature struggled to resurface, spewing two jets of water from its nostrils and beginning to cough violently.

"She...choked?" Aya was both amused and exasperated.

“Obviously so.” Kal’tsit frowned. “The physical structure of land people is not suitable for the Sealings. In the long evolutionary history of the Sealings, this evolutionary direction should have been ruled out long ago. I don’t understand why they have picked it up again.”
