If saving one's life is cowardly and timid, while sending oneself to one's death is fearless and reckless, Charles X chose the latter.

He was a barbarian warrior, and he didn't want the word "coward" to be added to his dictionary.

However, what Charles X received was not the monsters that were about to destroy the entire Black Iron race civilization of the Western Continent.

Feathers filled the sky, shrouding the gloomy expanse.

Appearing before him were angels, only a handful of them.

"An angel? I never expected to see such a despicable fellow at the end." Charles X's eyes were filled with deep disappointment.

Because of the angels' past deeds, their reputation in the Western Continent is very bad, and people no longer believe that angels are the same as those described in legends.

Charles X was very direct in his aversion to angels.

"It seems my kin did something that greatly displeased you in the past," the angel said, his voice magnetic.

After he raised his head, he met Charles X's gaze.

The angel who appeared before Charles X was none other than Joshua, the very man who had destroyed his own homeland.

He was probably one of the culprits who indirectly caused the Silver Race invasion.

However, Joshua felt no guilt, because even if he didn't destroy Heaven, the insatiable Silver Seeds would still reach for the ground.

It's all just a matter of time.

"Deceiving and killing my people, attempting to destroy a city—that's enough to make all the people of the Western Continent hate you angels." Charles X was remarkably calm in the face of the powerful angels.

Perhaps because there were even more terrifying disasters to face, the angels seemed insignificant.

"So what do you want to do by showing up at this time? Do you want to tell me that this is all your fault? What do you want to gain?"

“No, I’m here to tell you something.” Joshua’s expression remained unchanged throughout.

"I intend to survive alongside you Ironborn, in the hands of these demigods," He said.

Charles X first raised an eyebrow, then calmed down; he probably knew what Joshua was planning.

What kind of compensation do you want?

"This is both my goal and the reward I want."

"I see," Charles X said after a long pause. Joshua's words and the emperor's reaction left many people bewildered.

This includes the loyal minister, as well as the angels behind Joshua.

"Wait a minute, Your Majesty, angels cannot be trusted!"

"Wait a minute, Lord Joshua, what are you saying?!"

The surroundings became noisy, but this did not affect the thoughts of Charles X and Joshua.

"Are you planning to defeat those monsters?" Charles X rubbed his chin.

Upon seeing the angel, Charles X suddenly lost his will to die.

If there is any hope, Charles X will naturally seize it.

Although it was a bit strange, he did feel that Joshua had lit a lamp in the western continent.

Although Charles X did not know whether the swaying lamp was an illusion or when it would go out, at least it provided light.

"Defeat those monsters?" Joshua chuckled, then shook his head helplessly.

That smile was filled with helplessness and powerlessness; even a third-order angel was nothing more than an ant in the face of a demigod.

"..." The Emperor of the German Empire frowned, feeling that Joshua's words were playing a trick on him.

“Although you Ironborn have obtained information about demigods in recent years, it seems that you still don’t have a deep impression of them,” Joshua said.

"Only a true god can punish beings who wield the power to control the world."

Joshua understood the concept of "divine difference" that separated mortals from gods all too well.

"This world has gone through several eras, giving birth to the Gold Race, Silver Race, Bronze Race, and Iron Race."

“You historians have also derived the same historical classification system from our past historical research, so you also know that you belong to the Iron race.”

“But other higher species are not legendary beings. For example, I, a bronze species, am standing right in front of you.”

"You have never realized what kind of difference this racial prefix really signifies."

The emperor fell silent.

"You must have witnessed the power of angels."

"When we face a single silver-tier monster, the despair is even greater than when you face us."

Charles X tapped his fingers incessantly on the armrest of his throne.

The dust and gravel constantly falling from above seemed to represent his patience, gradually being worn down.

"The barbarian emperor, to survive is not to defeat those monsters."

"That is to say, those monsters cannot be defeated, but that does not mean there is no way to survive."

"Not being able to defeat the enemy does not mean giving up the fight. I hope you, as a warrior and an emperor, can understand this."

"Of all the things you've said, only the last sentence is to my liking." Charles X smiled knowingly, looking at Joshua with a meaningful expression.

“If you had no difference between choosing to live and choosing to die before, I think your choice to live is more meaningful now,” Joshua said.

"I'd like to know how you plan to help us," the emperor asked with interest.

Charles X immediately understood Joshua's emphasis on "living together".

This tells us a lot, showing that even angels were threatened by these invincible monsters.

"You can rest assured about that; I'll tell you later." Joshua put his finger to his lips and smiled mysteriously.

However, Joshua didn't mean to keep it a secret; he just knew that revealing it now wouldn't make much sense and might even throw things off track.

When the time is right, I will naturally say it.

"It would do neither of us any harm to temporarily set aside our hatred for us angels."

I will consider this matter.

“Then do not die easily, King of the Barbarians.” Joshua leaped backward, and all six pairs of wings unfolded at the same time.

The other angels silently followed Joshua as he flew into the sky.

Even though they were puzzled by Joshua's decision, they chose to ask him later.

Only one angel girl spoke.

"Please don't let them all die." Zoe said this to Charles X as she left the crumbling palace.

That's a strange statement, and it's probably impossible to understand what Zoe is trying to express.

But Joshua glanced at Zoe almost imperceptibly.

Even Charles X raised his eyelids and looked at the girl.

Although they are all angels, at least this girl doesn't give off the same dull feeling as the other angels.

It's not to the point that people subconsciously dislike it.

"Don't let them all die." After the angel left, Charles X muttered to himself, repeating Zoe's words before she left.

It was a very direct statement, but Charles X did not think there was anything wrong with it.

Aren't all the people on the Western Continent on the verge of extinction right now? If they're not careful, they could all be wiped off the face of the earth.

“Your Majesty, those are angels. We cannot forget what happened before,” the minister warned Charles X.

"Do you think there's any need to doubt now that things have come to this?" The emperor of the Japanese Empire pointed to a hole in the ceiling.

The once luxurious palace is now in ruins, with all sorts of priceless works of art destroyed.

The Western Continent, like this palace, is not far from falling.

At this point, there is no need to doubt the angels.

Whether Joshua wanted to use them, deceive them, or genuinely wanted mutual benefit, it didn't make much difference.

"Let's go. I suddenly don't want to be buried in the palace like this, nor do I want to be swallowed whole after seeing those monsters." Charles X rose slowly from his throne.

"Your Majesty!" The minister, who had originally planned to die with the emperor, was overjoyed.

"Please come this way, it's safer here."

Charles X did not refuse the courtier's invitation and leisurely followed him away.

"Your Majesty, those angels left without saying anything. Is that really alright?"

"It doesn't matter, He will find me naturally, He will find me naturally."

“After all, those guys are a bit more advanced than us,” Charles X said, narrowing his eyes as if deep in thought.

---

Above the gray sky, the previously silent angel voiced his confusion to Joshua.

They didn't understand why they should seek cooperation with the Black Iron race, which was so much weaker than themselves.

In the eyes of these angels, it made no difference whether or not one was of the Black Iron race if one wanted to live.

"This is no longer the Second Era."

"If you don't change your mindset, you are destined to be cruelly eliminated."

"Below the higher species, all living beings are ants."

“We’re not much bigger than the Ironborn,” Joshua said quietly.

Often, angels are just as prone to developing a stagnant, moldy soul, much like the Dark Iron race.

"Black Iron type... Rinna, it seems I should try to make contact with them too."

This is very likely the first real collaboration between the Iron and Bronze classes.

No one knew what the impact of their cooperation would be, or whether it would even be useful. In the dark, damp forest, a barefoot, long-haired woman sat on a tree branch, swinging her feet.

Her purple hair, like the sunset, fluttered in the forest breeze.

The woman's skin was as pale as paper, as if it would be pierced with the slightest touch.

Mira, the guardian of the "Wandering Tomb," is doing what she always does today, watching the dead come and go at her feet.

She hung the lantern, which could guide souls, on a tree branch, her captivating eyes gazing upon the bewildered dead.

Tiny specks of light surrounded her, like fairies guarding the tomb keeper.

However, Mira doesn't actually need anyone to protect her. If she were to be hurt, no one could save her.

As long as the "Wandering Tomb" exists, the tomb keeper will exist forever.

When the old gravedigger grows weary of the passing years, a new gravedigger is born.

"So many people have died," Mira muttered to herself in a flat tone.

She herself is a dead person, so it would be a bit strange if she had expressive facial expressions and a rich tone.

After speaking with Bray a few times, she did indeed embark on a strange path, managing a stiff smile despite being a dead person.

Mira poked her cheek with two fingers, forcing a stiff smile.

"It's all someone's fault. They actually killed the giant eagle that devoured the excess dead. Now the graveyard is overflowing with the undead." Mira said, glancing at an uninvited guest out of the corner of her eye.

As the saying goes, uninvited guests arrive without warning, and the guy below her always shows up without warning.

“I see, no wonder I saw so many zombies along the way.” Bramour stroked his chin, looking as if he had just realized something.

Vidfulnir was slain, and at the same time, the invasion of the Silver Race caused the deaths of countless creatures.

Because of these two factors, the "Wandering Tomb" is now filled with bewildered dead, and it will take some time to properly guide this massive number of the dead.

“But you can even kill that giant eagle. If you were in a normal world, you might be called a monster,” Mira said coldly.

“I’m a real person, not a monster,” Bray said seriously. He was a human being, not a monster.

“Ah, yes, you’re always alone.” Mira gave Bray a deep look.

"How many undead are there in this place right now?" he asked curiously, noting that when he came in, it was practically like waiting in line.

“That’s enough to fill an entire vegetable market,” Mira said with a stern face.
