A dull longsword and a heartbroken villager

“I am the master of this nightmare…” Logan couldn’t believe that he was powerless to do anything in the dream.

Previously, Logan could run as fast as he wanted.

You can make the townspeople in your dreams look however you want.

However, Logan now finds himself unable to control this nightmare.

"Stop him!" Roger clapped his hands.

"Thump!!!!" Headless giants emerged from both sides, waving wooden clubs.

The wooden stick was full of nails; if someone was hit by it, they would either die or be seriously injured.

The giants that came from both sides of the road were not taken seriously by Bray.

Bray switched the longsword to his left hand and drew the greatsword from behind him with his right hand.

The greatsword was swung, sweeping away the white mist.

The blade severed the legs of the two headless giants.

Even if a Beers chipped, it will still be absolutely sharp.

The headless giant, having lost both legs, was unable to maintain his balance.

His heavy body collapsed to the ground.

However, under the cover of these giant bodies, Logan ran even further.

Layers of white fog rolled in, trying to make Bray lose track of Logan.

Bray squinted, barely able to make out Logan's back.

Without hesitation, he followed.

Logan, however, could see everything around him clearly in the white fog and was not blinded.

He soon realized that Bray had caught up.

Even with the fog obstructing their path, it could only slow down Bray's advance.

There was simply no way to get Logan off Bray.

Without the ability to control his nightmares, Logan is just like an unarmed ordinary person.

There was no other way but to escape.

Logan wouldn't be afraid if he were facing anyone else, but he was facing Bray.

What's wrong with this guy? He easily killed one headless giant after another.

Those headless giants, if placed in the real world, would be even more powerful than A-rank monsters.

Logan could handle a regular S-class vehicle by now.

But there was nothing they could do about Bray.

The two swords abruptly shattered this nightmare, something Logan would never have believed before.

"Logan, do you still think this is your dream?"

"Decades have passed, and you still think you're the master of every nightmare you create?"

"Migorawain is the master of all nightmares, Logan."

Irving's words echoed in Logan's mind.

Logan's heart sank.

After Irving came into contact with Logan's control over dreams, he discovered that he was not the master of the dreams.

Migolawen is the master of nightmares, just as he is known as the "Lord of Nightmares".

But Logan still doesn't believe he was used by Migolavian.

He took advantage of Migoravan; it was definitely not Migoravan who took advantage of him.

Logan firmly believed this.

"No one can catch me; dreams cannot be captured."

"Outsider, you have no right to judge me!!!!"

"Whoosh—" But as Logan was laughing wildly, a longsword pierced right through him.

"Cough cough..." Logan coughed up blood, and blood seeped from countless eyes as well.

Bray appeared behind Logan, his left hand gripping a longsword.

"Swoosh—" Bray drew his longsword and kicked Logan away.

"I'm just doing this because I'm doing someone a favor," Bray said expressionlessly.

Logan, who was about to retaliate, was completely stunned by the kick. Before his tentacles could even extend, he was rolled far away.

"Ohhhhhh!!! Migorawen! Great Migorawen!! Please save me!"

"Great Lord of Nightmares, please save the devout pilgrims!!!"

Logan lay on the ground, praying incessantly.

"Did you hear my prayer?"

"Dong—" As if in response to Logan's call, the town's bells rang.

However, it wasn't three chimes, but just one heavy bell sound.

The bells tolled so loudly that the entire town was enveloped by their sound.

“Ah, Lord of Nightmares, have you heard my prayer?” At this moment, Logan truly understood that the Lord of Nightmares was the true master of this nightmare.

He was simply being used.

Yes, he was the one being used.

Logan finally admitted it.

The surrounding scenery shattered.

"Hahahaha, the nightmare won't end so soon, outsider, at least not now." Logan got up and laughed wildly at Bray.

Bray sensed something was wrong and tried to throw his greatsword to kill Logan instantly.

But when the bells stopped ringing, the eerie town vanished.

When Bray came to his senses, he found himself back in reality.

"..." Bray sheathed his two swords expressionlessly.

I'm out of the nightmare again.

But this time, Bray didn't want to leave so soon.

"Damn it." Bray curled his lip. Bray looked up, only to find that the night sky was still shrouded in darkness.

Dawn has not yet broken.

Bray leaned against a lamppost by the roadside and slightly closed his right eye.

He was a little sleepy; staying up all night had left Bray feeling mentally exhausted.

Bray realized that he was indeed not suited to staying up late.

As dawn broke, sunlight pierced through the dark clouds.

As night faded, the town of Knight was greeted by the dawn.

Bray has been sleeping on the street since last night.

He forgot to go back to his place to sleep.

"Hey, hey, hey, dead fish eyes." Naruko shook the roadside dog, Bray, awake.

Naruko woke up early in the morning and, finding herself without a target, immediately went out to look for this guy.

If you're looking for Bray, you should definitely bring Levy along.

Levy was able to find Bray in town with ease.

Sure enough, Bray was outside, and asleep.

But sleeping directly outside is too casual.

"Hmm?" Bray raised his right eyelid, saw Naruko, and yawned.

"What? It's you," Bray said calmly.

"What's with your reaction?" Naruko sensed the deep disdain emanating from Bray.

“A normal person’s reaction.” Bray got up from the ground.

"It's so cold, it's better to sleep in bed," Bray muttered.

I slept outside for one night and felt stiff all over.

Just then, the town's morning bells rang.

The six chimes indicate that it is already 6 a.m.

"It's already 6 o'clock."

"No one woke me up. What happened to their hospitality?" Bray remarked.

"Good morning, Bray!" Levy greeted Bray energetically.

“Oh, it’s Levy. Good morning.” Bray waved.

"Oh!" Levy wagged her tail rapidly.

"Why are you sleeping outside?" Naruko asked, looking at Bray with curiosity.

"I was fighting monsters, and when I got tired, I just fell asleep." Bray shrugged.

"A chimera?" Naruko finally reached the ashes beside her.

That looks a lot like the remains of the chimera that Bray killed before.

"Are there still monsters in this town?"

"Hmm, who knows?" Bray wasn't sure if there were any left in town.

There are still a lot more in my nightmares.

"Should we tell Mr. William about this?" Naruko asked tentatively.

"Whatever." Bray directly passed the buck to Naruko.

"You irresponsible bastard."

"I'm so tired, so tired," Bray said dejectedly.

His dead fish eyes looked even more lifeless than before.

"Never mind, I'll go talk to Mr. William about it. You go back to sleep," Naruko said helplessly, shaking her ponytail.

“Okay.” Bray nodded in agreement and slowly left the place where he had slept all night.

"Don't overwork yourself," Naruko called out.

“I know.” Bray waved casually with his back to Naruko.

“Alright, Levy, let’s go find Mr. William.” Naruko took Levy’s hand.

“Oh!” Levy responded.

"Meow~" Fireball, though confused, also meowed.

Naruko went to find William, but Bray didn't go straight back to rest.

Bray headed in the direction of old man Irving's house.

Bray had to ask several passersby for directions to Owen's house before he finally found it.

To be honest, Irving's house is a bit remote and not easy to find at all.
