Normal people simply cannot withstand the life force of those "Heavenly Fox Tears".

But the black sphere withstood it, digested the mother body, and then seized that life force.

The mother is indeed immortal, but that doesn't mean her life force can't be taken away; simply consuming the mother will solve the problem.

However, digesting it is also a difficult task.

I just don't know what kind of structure this black sphere has to be to accomplish all this.

But it didn't matter; Bray didn't care about any of that.

"Immortality... This isn't the first time I've heard this term."

"What exactly are you asking for?"

People cannot understand each other, and the same applies to the pursuit of immortality.

Bray couldn't understand why these people were so obsessed with immortality, the kind of idea that they didn't care about becoming monsters in order to achieve immortality. How did this idea come about?

"You don't understand, you don't understand!" the black ball said mischievously, waving its little arms.

“Indeed, I don’t understand at all.” Bray struck a pose and exhaled.

"Trying to kill me? It's no use. I'm immortal."

"Kill me, and I will be resurrected."

"Unless you eat me, yes, unless you eat me!" The black ball swelled up again and said in that childlike voice.

There was no answer, only silence.

"Crack." That was the sound of Bray's sword sheath vibrating.

The sound indicates that the mine-laying has begun.

The two swords were like the fangs of a demon, biting at the huge black sphere.

“Then I’ll eat you up,” Bray said.

"Ancient Sword School" "Ghost Fang"

There are no obvious special effects, but if someone stands here and looks at it, they will have an illusion.

That is—a giant demon bared its fangs and bit the enemy in front of it into pieces.

The mouth of the black ball, now broken and scattered on the ground, was laughing loudly.

"I am immortal, I will be resurrected!" the black ball said.

"I am Kasim! A noble mage, how could I be killed by a commoner!" It waited, waiting for its body to recover little by little.

By then, it will be able to hop and jump again.

Once it recovers, it will devour the adventurer whole.

That eye that seems to see right through me is so annoying. It clearly doesn't understand anything, yet it acts like it knows everything.

They have no idea how much effort they've put into achieving immortality, yet they act as if they're disgusted by their own research.

How hateful! How despicable!

However, it did not respond; the shattered body showed no sign of recovery.

Its scattered remains are gradually turning into dust.

"Why?" The black ball was stunned, its eyes, which had not yet disappeared, looking in bewilderment at the scattered remains of its body.

Why is it disappearing? Why hasn't it recovered?

The black ball became increasingly flustered.

It's immortal, so what's going on now?!

"Tap, tap." Bray, who had already sheathed his sword, walked step by step to one of the black sphere's eyes and looked down at it. Bray's sword had been sheathed long ago after he made his move.

Because he already knew that the battle was completely over.

The Qasim before me—no, the monster who thinks he is Qasim—is already dead.

“Who are you?” Bray asked.

“I am Qasim!” the black ball answered decisively, without the slightest hesitation.

"And who is your daughter?" Bray asked again.

"Daughter? What are you talking about?" The black ball paused for a few seconds.

It kept flipping through the diary in its mind, and then found the answer to the Bray problem.

"Hahaha, you think I don't know? Actually, I do know!"

“Your name is Angelia, right? Angelia!” the black ball quickly replied, seemingly trying to cover something up.

"And who is your wife?" Bray continued to ask.

"The one I ate was my wife."

"So, who is it?"

"What...what are you asking?" Black Ball frantically flipped through the diary in his mind, trying to find the answer.

"Wait a minute, I'll find it soon."

“Don’t you understand?” Bray sighed.

"What do you understand!"

“You are not Kasim,” Bray said to the black ball.

"I am Qasim! I am Qasim!!!" The black ball spoke quickly, with a hint of anger in his voice.

“You are not,” Bray said firmly.

"Why are you saying this?! What good does it do you to let me know that I'm not Kasim?!" the black ball said in a trembling voice.

Its voice grew fainter and fainter, and the remaining remains of its body dwindled.

“No good.” Bray shook his head.

"I just think it's pathetic that you're deceiving yourself."

"..." The eye at Bray's feet was wide open, as if it found it unbelievable.

“I’m not pitiful at all!!!” the black ball said to Bray.

After hearing Black Ball's reply, Bray frowned imperceptibly.

"Why, what gives you the right to think I'm pitiful!" Blackbody scolded Bray.

"Stop talking to yourself! You hypocrite!"

"So that's how it is..." Bray closed his right eye, realizing that he had only thought the other person was pitiful.

Believing that he is Kasim is the only way for this black ball, created by Jonathan, to maintain its last shred of dignity.

In the end, it's just me talking to myself.

Maybe what the black ball said all along was right, and that he was just being hypocritical.

"I'm sorry," Bray said apologetically.

"Hahaha, that's right, I am Kasim, you're the one who's wrong!" the black ball said happily.

It firmly believes that it is Qasim, and even if it senses something amiss, it will choose to ignore it.

What else could it be but a Qasim?

Everything about Kassim belongs to him, the good and the bad; he accepts all black balls.

All it needs to know is that it is Qasim.

"No need to apologize! Because I am a noble mage! Accepting an apology from a commoner like you would only lower my status!" the black ball continued, its voice gradually becoming inaudible.

"By the way, about that question you asked before, who is my wife!?"

"Of course I know, I found it in that diary..." The voice stopped abruptly.

Because the last mouth has disappeared, leaving only one eye.

That eye also stared at Bray, and eventually turned to dust.

“The commission is complete…” Bray muttered to himself, though his feelings were somewhat complicated.

He turned around, his right eye looking at the barely breathing Angelia.

In a short period of time, Angelia went from a young girl to an old woman.

No longer beautiful, and devoid of charm.

“…” Angelia just cried without saying a word.

Bray had no way to save Angelia, and he didn't even know why Angelia was getting old.

But his intuition told him... Angelia would die if things continued like this.

"Her life has ended tragically"...? Perhaps that word doesn't suit her now.

However, let's use this word anyway.

"Can you help me up?" Angelia asked Bray.

“Okay.” Without saying a word, Bray helped the elderly Angelia to her feet.

"This way," Angelia pointed in a direction.

Without asking any questions, Bray simply helped her walk over.

There, Diman was badly injured.

Diman did not have the same resilience as Angelia and was injured after the earthquake.

He had already woken up, but he couldn't bring himself to go find Angelia.

Diman seemed to sense someone approaching and looked up.

“Angelia?” Diman looked at the woman in front of him, whose clothes were familiar but whose face was extremely old, and asked.

“You still recognize me?” Angelia said weakly.

She had expected that Diman's expression would be even more astonished given how much she had changed.

"I recognize him." Diman nodded, though his expression was complicated.

Although she has aged, her features still make her recognizable as Angelia.

"Don't you think it's ugly?" Angelia had come specifically to find Diman.

"Don't you think that's how it is when a person gets old?" Diman shook his head.

He struggled to his feet and then came to Angelia.

"Can I help her?" Diman asked Bray.

“If you can, I don’t mind.” Bray glanced at Diman, whose injuries were quite severe.

“I can,” Diman nodded emphatically.

So Bray relinquished control, and Diman took over.

The moment Diman took Angelia, he thought she was so light... too light.

It's like glass that could shatter at any moment.

"Seeing me like this, can you still say you like me?"

Do you want to hear the truth?

“Ah, no, because I already know the answer,” Angelia said.

"Actually, I don't know what your preconceived answer is..."

“But I want to take care of you, I want to be with you,” Diman said softly.

It's impossible for you to fall in love with an old man.

However, you might fall in love with someone, and then love her even as she grows old.

Diman fell in love with Angelia superficially because of her beauty, but he did not give up on her even after she lost that beauty.
