"It's alright, you can go out now and close the door."
After the office door closed again, Iowa burned the telegram she had just received. The firelight illuminated her face, revealing her deep contemplation.
Chapter Nineteen: Return to Pearl Harbor
At Pearl Harbor Airport, ground crew are directing a special "fighter jet" to land.
This is naturally the Freedom Gundam.
The enormous humanoid machine spread its wings and slowly descended, finally landing steadily on the airport.
The return of the former hero to Pearl Harbor attracted a large crowd. Many veterans who had fought alongside the company immediately recognized that the machine was completely different from the previous ones, and they couldn't help but marvel at it.
The fact that Major General Jenkins personally came to the airport to greet them excited the veterans who had survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
"Hey Major General, is it possible that some flying corporate lady is planning to set up camp here?"
"Get out of my way, all of you! Don't you have anything better to do? If you have nothing better to do, go and wax the decks of the ships in the harbor!"
After dispersing the crowd, Major General Jenkins finally got a clear look at Rob and New Jersey, who had jumped down from the Freedom Gundam.
"Grandpa, it's been a long time!"
Just one glance at the face of New Jersey in Rob's arms, Major General Jenkins knew things were not simple, and quickly told the others to get in the car.
"Get in the car. I've already had the dock ready. We can start anytime."
Helping New Jersey, whose legs were already trembling, into the car, Rob immediately asked the driver to speed up.
Upon hearing this, the major general nodded to the driver. After receiving the order, the driver stepped on the gas, and the car sped off towards the shipyard, kicking up a thick cloud of dust.
Inside the dock, a group of staff members were already prepared, just waiting for the main character to make his appearance.
After a flash of light, the massive hull of the New Jersey ship appeared in the dock. The huge crack at the bow sent a chill down the spines of everyone present. The maintenance crew had worked on dozens of ships, but they had never seen such a clean tear. It looked as if something sharp had slashed it open.
"Kid, what... what happened to you?" Even the well-informed Major General Jenkins had never seen such a scar before.
Rob looked around and then gave the major general a signal.
"It's alright, just say it!"
So Rob organized his thoughts and omitted information about the Sakura Empire members during the previous operation, only keeping details about his own group entering the Mirror Sea and their subsequent encounter.
"You mean, Sakura Empire's Shoukaku, from that great distance, slashed her ship into this state with a single strike?" Upon hearing this unbelievable news, Rear Admiral Jenkins unconsciously raised his voice.
After helping to hand New Jersey over to professional caregivers, Rob pulled the major general into a corner.
"Grandpa, it's hard to believe, but it's true. I don't know what kind of advanced technology Sakura Empire obtained, but Shoukaku has turned into that form."
“Alright, I believe you won’t lie to me about this, but hey kid, I have a question.” Major General Jenkins suddenly stared at Rob with a sharp glint in his eyes, making Rob feel a chill run down his spine.
"Um... Grandpa, if you have something to say, just ask. Don't look at me like that, it's making me nervous."
"According to you, Shoukaku from Sakura Empire is already so powerful, so just how strong are you to have defeated her?"
"Haha, well... the other side's mental state is unstable. I'm lucky, I'm lucky."
Seeing that the other side was unwilling to talk, the major general stopped asking, since he wasn't really going to find out anything anyway.
After speaking with Rob, he walked up to the company and gave a formal greeting.
"Miss Enterprise, it's been a long time."
"Long time no see, Major General. You look to be in good health."
"Alright, let's leave this to the professionals for now. You've just come back from the battlefield, why don't you come to my house for dinner? Arizona misses you terribly."
“That’s great! I haven’t tasted Arizona’s cooking in ages.” Rob walked over and put his arm around his company.
This spoiled white-haired girl, raised in Donghuang, easily loses her composure when it comes to food. In public, we need to quickly cover up the rumbling of her stomach.
The major general paused for a moment, then chuckled and led the two men away from the dock by car.
Before long, the group arrived at Major General Jenkins's home.
Arizona, whom everyone hadn't seen in a long time, opened the door to greet them. Compared to before, her complexion was much better; the previous pallor was gone, and she now looked rosy-cheeked, clearly living a comfortable life.
"Arizona, it's been a long time."
"Commander Luo, Miss Enterprise, it's been a long time. The food is ready, please come in."
At the dinner table, Rob, who had been starving all day and had only eaten two energy bars, ate a hearty meal and finally filled his stomach.
After eating and drinking to our hearts' content, it was time for the usual chat.
"By the way, Grandpa, where are Sister Beng and the others?" After a satisfying meal, Luo Bo gently patted his stomach. Hmm, I need to move around a bit later, it's a little bulging.
"He's off on a mission. The Sirens' been acting up lately." The old man picked up his bowl and took a sip of soup. Arizona was in charge, so he didn't dare drink alcohol and had to make do with soup.
"Yeah, I don't know what the Sakura Empire got from the Sirens. They've mass-produced fake ships, and they've even put Mirror Sea on them."
"You think Donghuang is such an easy place to stay?"
"However, it seems like Sakura Empire is having some internal problems lately, and I feel like this is an opportunity. If things go well, at least Sakura Empire won't have time to cause me trouble for a while." Rob casually delivered another sharp revelation to the Major General.
"Ok?"
Gently putting down the bowl in his hand, Jenkins glanced at Rob sitting across from him and thought to himself that this kid always manages to bring him some exciting news.
"Hey, there are some internal problems. That Mikasa from Sakura Empire... yeah, Mikasa. She formed some kind of new Sakura Empire alliance."
"Hmm? Hiss~" Major General Jenkins gasped. This news was quite big.
"Grandpa, we were at the shipyard just now. There were too many people, so there were some things I didn't tell you. I can tell you now, but you know what I mean."
What are you trying to say?
"I think we can give it a try, maybe bring over that... newly formed Sakura Empire alliance." Rob held up one finger. The look in his eyes reappeared from when he was negotiating business with Mikasa.
"You brat, who do you think I am? How can I make this decision for you?" Major General Jenkins immediately put on a stern face upon hearing this.
"Stop joking, old man. You definitely have connections with headquarters. I just sent you a message saying I was coming, and in the blink of an eye, New Jersey said her sister knows she's in trouble. As far as I know, Iowa holds a pretty high position at headquarters."
"Cough cough cough, you tell me, you tell me." The major general blushed when his lie was exposed, but fortunately, he had a thick skin and quickly suppressed it.
"I plan to find an opportunity to contact the newly formed Sakura Empire again. If necessary, I will provide them with some assistance."
Chapter Twenty: Rob's Little Tricks
"Kid, let me tell you, those foxes in Sakura Empire are all full of bad intentions. Don't let them fool you!" As someone with experience, Major General Jenkins' first reaction was that Rob might have been bewitched by those vixens in Sakura Empire.
"Ahem, old man, what are you thinking? What I mean is, I will provide some assistance to the New Sakura Empire Union, well, I'll give them everything except for tangible support."
The old man lowered his head and pondered for a while, then suddenly laughed and slapped his thigh, "Hey, I didn't realize you had such a dirty mind!"
"Absolutely, I graduated from the command department, I specialize in tactics."
"But kid, why don't you just talk to your dean about this? Why go through all this trouble by coming to me?"
While Arizona was getting up, the old man quickly stole a drink. Now the alcohol was kicking in, and his face was flushed red.
Thinking about his cunning dean, whom he'd never met except for the diploma request, Luo Bo felt a surge of anger. He'd spent fifteen million to help her sort out that AF thing, and he'd ended up being a black man for nothing.
"I'm not going to see her. Dean Saratoga is a swindler."
"Pfft!" The old man couldn't help but spit out the food he had just put in his mouth.
"Cough cough cough! Kid, how much have you been ripped off?" Major General Jenkins looked at Rob with a wicked grin, as if he were an experienced person.
"Don't ask." Rob's face darkened, and he waved his hand to indicate that this was a dark history and no one should ask.
For a moment, the entire restaurant was filled with cheerful laughter.
It was already evening when we left the old man's house. The sky was dotted with stars, and a bright moon hung high in the sky, casting silvery light.
Rob, carrying a packed lunch for New Jersey, led the company slowly toward the dock.
After all, I had enjoyed a delicious meal myself, and it would be a bit unfair to leave the other person there eating bread or something.
Along the way, veterans who recognized the company greeted the two men from time to time, while others took the opportunity to jeer. This made the company feel a little embarrassed, and they kept their heads down the whole way, avoiding eye contact. They exerted a little force in their hands, trying to break free from Rob's grasp.
Upon seeing this, Rob immediately released his grip, allowing the company to pull its hand back.
Then he grabbed her waist and put his arm around her waist.
"Eek!" The sudden attack made the company exclaim in surprise, but she dared not shout loudly lest she attract the attention of those around her, so she had to force herself to keep her voice down.
"Commander!" Enterprise whispered a reminder to Rob to remove his hand, but Rob pretended not to hear.
"Wow~" But unfortunately, the company is extremely popular in Pearl Harbor and is the center of attention wherever it goes.
The guys on the street saw the flying Enterprise interacting with their commander and got even more excited to cheer.
Gradually, the company was practically steaming with cash. Rob first gave the guy on the street a thumbs-up, then hugged him even tighter.
Smelling the faint fragrance of his own company's shampoo, Rob secretly decided to switch brands next time. This brand doesn't smell good.
In the end, Rob let go of Enterprise, but continued walking hand in hand. After all, it was quite a distance to the shipyard, and Enterprise's way of walking, only looking at its feet and not at the road, was simply too much to handle.
At this point, the company would have no objection to Rob holding her hand in public.
[Playing mind games with your own sister, host, you're truly disgusting.]
Ignoring the system's complaints, Rob, holding the company's hand, walked into the dock with a smug look on his face.
When New Jersey saw Robo come in carrying food, she seemed to revert to her previous energetic and lovable self. She tried to hug Robo, who quickly used the lunchbox to protect himself.
I've finally managed to build up some goodwill, I hope nothing goes wrong again.
"I knew Rob, you're the best! They all forgot to bring me food!" New Jersey was almost moved to tears while eating the delicious meal.
"The repair shop staff are all working overtime to fix your boat; they probably haven't even eaten yet. Take your time eating!"
Seeing that this silly girl was about to perform a "three-mouthed pig" act for Luo Bo on the spot, Luo Bo quickly stopped her and handed her a glass of juice to prevent her from choking.
"Phew~ I'm alive again!" After downing a glass of juice, New Jersey let out a burp. She looked much better now. Rob even suspected that her previous state wasn't due to injury but simply hunger.
Seeing that the other party had eaten and drunk their fill, Rob inquired about the condition of the other party's ship.
The New Jersey resident, who had just been all smiles, immediately fell into a slump.
"This is a huge problem! They said the entire internal system of the ship needs to be re-laid out, and the bow also needs to be replaced."
"Don't worry, it'll be fixed quickly." Not knowing much about this, Rob didn't know how to comfort the other person and could only offer some perfunctory words.
"But since the main gun hasn't been developed yet and I can't go to the battlefield for the time being, it doesn't seem like a big problem."
To retract my earlier statement, this simpleton doesn't need any comforting at all.
Rob patted New Jersey on the head, told her to get some rest, and then prepared to leave.
Unexpectedly, New Jersey grabbed Rob and forced him onto the stool.
"Hehehe~ You're done touching him, now it's my turn." Then she reached out and stroked Rob's head gently. "Oh~ Rob, your hair is a bit prickly~" She nodded and commented as she stroked it.
"Alright, alright, get some rest. Call me if you need anything. I'm heading back now."
Seeing that the silly bunny was about to pet him bald, Luo Bo quickly escaped her clutches, cleaned up the leftover lunchbox, and left the ward.
As they were leaving, a woman who was completely covered up brushed past Rob and his companions, catching their attention.
Although her face was completely obscured by the baseball cap and mask, her alluring figure beneath the clothing still easily sparked the imagination.
"commander?"
"That person just now, I felt like it was a warship." Looking back at the departing figure, Rob said thoughtfully.
"Then why does she look like she doesn't want to see anyone?"
"How would I know? Never mind. Let's wander around some more, we have nothing else to do anyway." With that, Rob reached out his hand towards the company.
This time, the company naturally took Rob's hand, and the two walked together under the dazzling starlight, chatting and laughing on the quiet path.
They hadn't walked far when a brand-new building caught their eye. It was nearly midnight, yet the building was still brightly lit, prompting them to go and take a look.
Chapter Twenty-One: On Seeing Oneself in a Memorial Hall
As the two followed the light closer, they discovered it was a brand new memorial hall.
The guy on duty, seeing that someone was still here at this hour, immediately became interested. Upon closer inspection, he chuckled.
"Hey, isn't this Miss Enterprise? What's up, on a date with your Commander?"
After receiving a negative response from the company, the older brother didn't say much, but gave Rob a wink. He then went to open the door for the two of them.
"If you had come any later, I would have left work already."
"When was this memorial hall built? I've never seen it before."
