The two were now standing one in front of the other, with a height difference due to the stairs.

The lights above shone down, landing right behind the young lady, giving her figure an air of holiness and making her exceptionally dazzling.

So much so that the questions she asked next gave Shimada Sho the illusion that he was a criminal being tried.

"You had a great time shopping with Yuki last time, didn't you?"

Her words were calm, revealing no emotion.

But when the last time was mentioned, the ambiguous feeling from that time immediately came to mind for Shimada Sho.

To thank Yuki Ayase for her help with the investigation, he agreed to spend a day with her.

Originally, it was just a nominal accompaniment, but inevitably some things happened during the process.

I accompanied her shopping, playing games, and we even had a meal together.

The young lady suddenly asked if she knew something.

"I'm a little curious, but don't be nervous, Shimada-kun."

Seeing his hesitation, the young lady revealed a faint smile in her eyes.

Shimada Sho could only offer a vague answer: "I just wandered around."

"Are you happy?" the young lady asked, refusing to let go.

Shimada Sho could only nod: "Mm..."

“Yuki told me that Sho-kun has a good eye for choosing bracelets.”

"..."

That woman treated the young lady like an enemy and would take any opportunity to act arrogantly towards her.

It's not surprising that she would tell him about shopping.

So, did the young lady feel inferior and that's why she specially brought him here to pick out a bracelet for her?

Thinking this, he said, "She's talking nonsense."

"Really?" The young lady's smile deepened. "But I think Shimada-san picked out a really nice one."

"..."

"What do you think, Shimada-kun? Would it look good on me?"

"I'm glad you like it."

The two chatted casually as they arrived at the lobby on the first floor.

The mall exit was in the distance, and as Shimada Sho went out, his ears suddenly twitched.

His gaze was directed towards the mall exit.

Almost simultaneously, a commotion erupted from the doorway, plunging the entire hall into chaos.

The sounds of engines roaring, shouting, and shattering glass gradually filled the air.

On the way to the entrance, several young people wearing flashy jackets and with brightly colored hair were huddled together.

They were holding baseball bats, facing off, and shouting insults at each other.

Broken glass was scattered on the ground, as if it had been smashed during the conflict.

Pedestrians around them quickly moved away, some took out their phones to secretly take pictures, but no one dared to get close.

"A biker gang." Upon seeing the scene, Shimada Sho frowned. "Let's go through the side door."

The main entrance is blocked, and going there would inevitably lead to a collision with this group of bikers.

But then, Yukine Kamishiro's voice came from the side, "The main gate is nearby."

Shimada Sho turned around and saw that she had already started walking towards the opposing crowd.

"Wait!" He reached out to stop him, but it was too late.

Helpless, he had no choice but to hurry after them.

At this point, the biker gang members at the entrance had completely started fighting.

The baseball bat was swung up and smashed against the glass door, shattering glass onto the floor with a crash.

"Slow down."

Shimada Sho, worried that the chaos would affect the young lady, walked ahead of her.

Just then, a young man with dyed blond hair, holding a baseball bat, rushed towards them.

In the blink of an eye, he ran into Shimada Sho.

The blond delinquent paused for a moment upon seeing the boy in front of him.

Realizing what was happening, he immediately shouted, "Kid, get out of the way if you don't want to die!"

The young lady was right behind him, and Shimada Sho didn't move aside.

The blond biker clearly didn't take him seriously and swung his baseball bat at his shoulder.

Shimada Sho dodged to the side, his right hand swiftly grabbing the opponent's wrist, while his left hand delivered an elbow strike to the opponent's chin.

Although this attack wasn't delivered with full force, its power was still astonishing thanks to a constitution boost of 17 points.

The blond-haired man who was hit didn't even utter a sound before his body went limp.

The baseball bat slipped from his hand and bounced twice on the ground.

There was a moment of silence.

The other bikers noticed the commotion and turned around.

Upon seeing their fallen comrade, their expressions shifted from arrogance to wariness, and then to anger.

"Damn it, you're asking for it!"

The three of them rushed over at the same time.

Instead of retreating, Shimada Sho advanced, meeting the baseball bat of the person in front with a kick to the side of his knee.

The man screamed and fell to his knees. Shimada Sho snatched the baseball bat from his hand and slammed it down on the second man's shoulder. The man groaned and fell to the ground.

The third man's fist was already at his feet when Shimada Sho dodged it by tilting his head. He then delivered a knee strike to the man's abdomen, causing him to stagger back two steps before collapsing to the ground and vomiting.

The whole process took less than ten seconds.

The mall entrance was so quiet that only the groans of the person lying on the ground could be heard.

Shimada Sho tossed the baseball bat aside, dusted off non-existent dust from his hands, and turned to walk back to Kamishiro Yukine's side.

"Let's go."

"Ah."

Yukine Kamishiro nodded gently and walked with him out of the store.

Throughout the entire process, the speed of movement did not slow down.

She glanced at the biker gang members lying on the ground on either side and said softly, "Shimada-kun is very skilled."

"It's alright." Shimada Sho didn't explain further.

The two walked out of the mall together. The bikers at the entrance were still lying on the ground, and people around them made way for them.

Shimada Sho walked past without glancing to either side, with Kamishiro Yukine following behind him, her steps unhurried, completely ignoring the mess on the ground.

Because of the commotion at the entrance, a large crowd of onlookers had gathered in the distance.

It took Shimada Sho quite a bit of effort to get her out of the crowd.

Just then, a figure came running hurriedly from a distance.

It was Kiryu Ichiyo, dressed in a black bodyguard uniform.

She stopped close by and looked at Yukine Kamishiro with a nervous expression.

Seeing that the young lady was safe and sound, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But an untimely voice rang out, causing her relaxed expression to tense up again.

"Ms. Kiryu arrived just in time."

Shimada Sho looked her up and down, speaking in a nonchalant tone.

Kiryu Ichiyo frowned instinctively, but had to explain, "I only did it because I heard a noise..."

"The commotion..." Shimada Sho interrupted her, remarking leisurely, "Not fulfilling one's responsibilities and still trying to justify it, it seems that the bodyguards in Kamishiro's family need to improve their professional skills."

This statement did not directly involve accountability or targeting.

But to say it at this moment would be truly devastating.

Kiryu Ichiyo pursed his lips and lowered his head, remaining silent.

After a long silence, she apologized woodenly, "Miss, I'm sorry, it was my negligence."

"Okay, let's go." Yukine Kamishiro didn't pursue the matter further.

After responding, she walked towards the parking lot.

Shimada Sho followed, glancing at the woman as he passed Kiryu Ichiyo.

It turned out she was looking at him too.

Kiryu Ichiyo's face was expressionless, but his eyes seemed to be blazing with fury, as if he wanted to devour him whole.

"I saved the young lady and averted the risk of you being fired. You're welcome."

Shimada Sho showed no fear, revealing a rather smug smile.

After saying that, he waved and left without waiting for her reaction.

"dross!"

Kiryu Ichiyo stared at the figure in front of him, gritting his teeth as he spat out two words.

……

Nozomi Sasaki's house is not far from Sho Shimada's residence, located in Tonino 4-cho.

Their car drove out of the city and through several blocks before arriving at the streets of Yotsumo.

Following the road, we finally stopped in front of an old street-side shop.

"We've arrived." Kiryu Ichiyo turned off the engine, got out of the car, and opened the back door.

Shimada Sho bent down and looked up at the building in front of him.

This was his second visit to Nozomi Sasaki's house.

Last time I brought Nozomi Sasaki back, I only went to the door and didn't go in.

But he remembered that there was a pastry shop sign on the storefront.

The plaque has now been removed for some unknown reason.

Since they weren't doing business, the shop windows that used to be open were now covered up with wooden partitions.

After getting off the bus, Yukine Kamishiro stood next to Sho Shimada.

Kiryu Ichiyo consciously turned around and took out the gift from the car.

"Let's go."

Once ready, Yukine Kamishiro stepped forward first.

She raised her hand and pressed the doorbell; the crisp sound echoed in the already dark night.

"Coming, coming—" came the reply from inside the house very quickly.

With hurried footsteps, the wooden door was pulled open, revealing Sasaki Nozomi's face filled with surprise.

"Kamishiro-kun, you really came!" Her eyes sparkled.

"Himi, excuse me." The young lady's tone was unusually gentle. "Are your aunt and uncle home?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Sasaki Nozomi stepped aside. "Hurry up..."

The movement of turning to the side caused her gaze to shift.
