"Awooo~ No, this can't be, how did you hurt me?"
Book VII, Chapter 436: The Question of Reproach
"How would I know?" Lappland merely smiled defiantly at Zaro, the Lord of Wolves' question.
"All I need is to be able to kill you."
As she spoke, Lappland once again swung her twin swords. This state not only affected the weapons, but Lappland also felt that her physical attributes had been significantly enhanced, with power flowing between her body and the blades.
"No wonder Su Rui said that."
Feeling the power within her combined body, Lappland couldn't help but reveal a carefree smile, shouting as she swung her sword:
"Take this! Only a storm can bring down a tree!"
Lappland's twin swords unleashed a terrifying storm, forcing Zaro to retreat steadily, constantly being slashed and wounded by Lappland, emitting painful howls.
But what Juezu cared about wasn't these things. She heard Lappland say, "Suri, Suri, no wonder there are so many mysteries."
Now, Chi Zui has figured it out: Su Rui is the source of all this chaos.
The chaos within the Venetian family, and the subsequent massacre of the ministers of various positions in Vorsini, all occurred after Surey's arrival, and specifically on the very first day of his arrival. These events seem far too coincidental.
Previously, because of Su Rui's aura that made people subconsciously want to be intimate, I overlooked many things. Now, thinking about it carefully, I suddenly understand.
However, even though such a conjecture had been formed, Chi Zui was still somewhat reluctant to face the answer.
After all, that handsome young man named Su Rui seemed so harmless, and he would occasionally provide her with just the right amount of help, which always made Chi Zui's heart tremble, yet she couldn't quite describe how she felt.
...This answer always needs to be verified, so I'd better ask Su Rui myself.
Chizui subconsciously thought of Su Rui, the way he looked at him, that smile, that casual attitude, like greeting a good friend, combined with Su Rui's aura that made people subconsciously want to be close to him. Even thinking of him again, Chizui's heart still couldn't help but race.
"I'm really unwilling..." Chi Zui glanced at Lappland, who had gained the upper hand in the battle with the Wolf Lord, turned around and left, intending to go to the hotel where Su Rui was to see him and have a detailed talk.
She couldn't help in the battle here, so there was no need for her to stay.
Suri was watching the battle between Lappland and Zaro. Although she saw Chizui about to leave, she didn't pay it any mind. However, Rendong seemed to have thought of something, a smile appeared on her lips, and she lowered her head to nuzzle Suri's cheek.
"I'm going to take Little Lily of the Valley out for a walk and chat with Texas and the others. You stay here, we'll be right back, okay?"
"Why are you excluding me?" Suri asked, looking up from Ren Dong's embrace with some dissatisfaction. Ren Dong silenced him with a kiss before he could ask any further questions.
"Because you have other things to do next."
After saying that, she gently put Su Rui down and then left the hotel in the elevator with Linglan from the room.
"What do I have to do?"
Su Rui was a little puzzled. She glanced at the Crimson in the scanned field of vision, which seemed to be moving towards the hotel: "Could it be that she's planning to come looking for me? My disguise is flawless, isn't it?"
Suri stopped thinking about it and focused her attention back on Lappland. As Lappland gradually reduced Zaro's health bar to near the kill threshold, the other Wolf Lords couldn't hold back any longer.
Despite their internal conflicts, the wolves knew they should unite against a common enemy.
However, for Lappland at this moment, it makes no difference whether one comes or a group comes, because the weapon provided by Su Rui is a group weapon, and the effect on a single target can be directly extended to every enemy individual.
So instead of Zaro being beaten alone, the Wolf Lords were now being beaten together as a group.
And Zaro, as Lappland's sword swung, also let out a roar of unwillingness:
"No, this is impossible. How could you possibly kill me?"
Then, with a swing of Lappland's sword, Zaro turned into a cloud of dust and vanished into the air of Vorsini.
Such standard trash talk. As Su Rui watched Lappland and the Lord of Wolves continue their battle, he couldn't help but feel a little bored.
While one-sided battles are exciting, they get a bit boring after a while, and Lappland's efficiency is a bit low.
Suri shifted some of her attention to Honeysuckle and Rebuke.
Honeysuckle and Texas have made contact and are heading towards Gray Hall... Is she still planning to interfere? Oh well, she can just be eliminated with a single click later anyway.
Su Rui didn't stop Ren Dong, then glanced at Chi Zui's location and discovered that Chi Zui had already driven to his hotel reception and was greeting the receptionist.
The receptionist quickly called Su Rui, and before she could speak, Su Rui said:
“I know, it’s Lavinia, right? Let her come up.”
With that, Suri turned on the television screen, displaying footage of Lappland's battle with the Wolf Lords, awaiting the arrival of the rebuke.
Now that she already knows, it's natural to have an open and honest conversation.
And so, Suri lay on her side on the soft sofa, wrapping herself in her nine fluffy tails, waiting. Soon, as the elevator bell rang, Chizui walked into the living room and saw the handsome nine-tailed fox boy curled up in his tails, and the television in front of him.
"...This is Lappland and the Wolf Lord, Suri, it really is you." Chizui recognized the battle between Lappland and the Wolf Lord almost immediately, and his heart sank, after all, this was the evidence to convict Suri.
"Hmm, don't rush, sit down and let's talk. You probably still have a lot of questions, right?"
Su Rui smiled at Chi Zui, and the boy's smile once again made Chi Zui lose her senses. It was because of this aura that made people want to be close to him and his harmless and pure smile that she subconsciously excluded Su Rui from the list of suspects, and even worried that he was a victim.
Who would have thought that such an adorable boy was actually the instigator behind such a huge mess?
Chi Zui took a deep breath, sat down opposite Su Rui, and stared intently into Su Rui's ruby-like eyes:
"Whether it's the deaths of the Venetian family or the deaths of those ministers reported in the newspapers, they were all your doing, weren't they?"
"Yes, would you like to hear the details?"
Suri twitched her fluffy fox ears, making even the most vengeful heart tremble.
Volume 7, Chapter 437: I'm about to get caught.
Jue Zui couldn't help but swallow hard. Although, according to her duty as a judge, she should have taken Su Rui back to the court's temporary detention center for investigation after seeing him, since she already had quite sufficient evidence.
But upon seeing the ruby-like eyes of the handsome nine-tailed fox boy before her, she hesitated: 'Perhaps, it wouldn't be bad to make a decision after he explains the whole story himself; after all, it won't waste much time.'
As if possessed, Chi Zui sat down in front of Su Rui and nodded: "Hmm, I want to know what happened."
Suri watched as Chizui obediently sat down after hearing her words, and patted the sofa she was sitting on gently with her fluffy tail.
Even the most upright and incorruptible judges would show signs of wavering in his presence.
Suri gently pushed the drink she had placed on the coffee table towards the scolder with one of her large tails, then used her other tail to curl up an unopened can of drink and hand it to him.
"Let's have a drink to pass the time; we have so much to talk about."
He politely picked up a can of alcoholic beverage but didn't open it; he just held it in his hand and then refocused his attention on Suri.
“First of all, when we came back to Syracuse, we didn’t really plan to do anything. You know, Honeysuckle, our child Lily of the Valley, and I just came home to visit our elders.”
After all, it was Lappland who was planning to do something, and it had nothing to do with Suri or Honeysuckle.
Suri made a helpless expression and shook the tail behind her: "But there are always people in the Venice family who can't stand Ren Dong, so they thought of making a move in the car we were in. However, we found the bomb inside, so Ren Dong told me to go back to the hotel first and she would handle the problem herself."
As she spoke, Suri looked at the judge and said, "Your Honor, I remember that even in the very heart of Syracuse, there are still many rules that cannot be enforced, aren't there?"
"...Yes, many cases are dropped because judges are threatened. If you know Lappland, she may have told you that one of my colleagues was even threatened and forced to assassinate me."
Her expression was somewhat downcast, clearly indicating that her colleague's death had had a significant impact on her.
Suri didn't dwell on the matter, but continued:
“I do know, after all, I was the one who told Lappland that you were going to be assassinated.”
Noticing the surprised look in Chi Zui's eyes, Su Rui smiled at her: "Don't underestimate me. Although I'm not good at fighting, no one can beat me when it comes to intelligence gathering."
"...Yes, thank you."
Rebuke nodded, and Su Rui, noticing her somewhat listless state, pressed her advantage:
"As things stand, Honeysuckle and I were acting entirely in self-defense, weren't we? We were only using our swords against those who wanted to harm us; we didn't hurt any innocent people."
"...What about those ministers who died? How could you kill all the ministers in one night? Does that have nothing to do with you?"
Chi Zui still remembered this matter. She had actually had some suspicions before, and now she directly asked about it.
"That was Lappland's doing. I provided some information. If you insist on saying so, I was just doing my job for money. I didn't know what the consequences of what I gave out would be. Lappland was the one who killed people."
You knew perfectly well that Lappland would kill those people after getting this information, you just didn't say it.
She thought this to herself, but she didn't say it to Su Rui.
“You played the role of an accomplice in this, Mr. Suri.”
"Yes, that's true, Miss Reprimand, but are you really going to judge me?"
Su Rui smiled at Chi Zui, and after noticing that Chi Zui's heart even skipped a beat at her gaze, a look of satisfaction flashed in her eyes:
“In Wolsini, many things are a mess. Those ministers probably thought they would end up like this, didn’t they? And are they really that clean? This is Wolsini.”
Su Rui spoke meaningfully, staring intently into the reproachful gaze:
"Besides death, have you investigated anything else? Do you know how much those so-called ministers have done behind the scenes?"
"..." Rebuke felt a little uncomfortable under Su Rui's gaze, and on the other hand, she did feel somewhat guilty.
However, after recalling Suri's abilities, Chi Zui couldn't help but become curious; she wanted to know the truth.
"So, have you investigated those ministers?"
"Of course, corruption, bribery, threats, and even withholding wages drive people who are already struggling to their deaths. What kind of person do you think would cooperate with a Mafia family and be gradually promoted to a minister?"
Suri smiled and took out the documents she had prepared in advance from the system space, placed them on the table, and then pushed them in front of Chizui with her fluffy tail: "I have evidence, I didn't spread rumors."
It was a success. Looking at the reproachful expression on his face, Su Rui knew that his words had persuaded the reproachful man.
Chizui took the documents from Su Rui's face, his fingers intentionally or unintentionally brushing against Su Rui's big tail. Feeling the soft, fluffy, and gentle touch, he felt as if he had been electrocuted and was momentarily dazed.
However, in order to conceal his unusual behavior, Chi Zui picked up the document in front of him and began to read it slowly.
As she read, the condemnation on her face grew increasingly grim. Just as Suri had said, none of the ministers Vorsini had mentioned were clean; they all abused their power in their own unique ways. If Suri hadn't brought out this information, some of these things would have been unthinkable.
"So, providing Lappland with intelligence isn't a bad thing, is it?"
"...However, this method cannot solve the problem." Chi Zui's expression was somewhat conflicted. After seeing this information, she found it difficult to make up her mind what to do to Su Rui, but she was still somewhat saddened.
Suri simply shrugged: "I'm not here to solve this problem, and I don't have the ability to do so, do I? They deserve to die, so I don't feel guilty about giving them information, it's that simple."
"I understand." Chi Zui sighed deeply, looking at the handsome nine-tailed fox boy in front of him with complicated emotions. He wanted to be intimate but couldn't find a reason, and he wanted to punish him but was caught in a dilemma.
She was conflicted about the blame, and then she heard the elevator; someone had returned.
Volume 7, Chapter 438: Rebuke: Why don't you look at me?
"Oh? Looks like I've come at the wrong time? Are you having a secret rendezvous with our judge? You're already married, doing something like this is really outrageous!"
It wasn't Honeysuckle that stepped out of the elevator, but Lappland. She walked with elegant steps, her smooth thighs swaying, adorned with a few Originium crystals, which gave her a unique charm.
However, Suri was completely unaffected by Lappland, and after her gaze lingered on Lappland's thighs for a moment, she rolled her eyes at her.
"Please don't say that. Mr. Suri and I were just discussing the case of Wolsini. You shouldn't arbitrarily damage other people's reputations."
Looking at Lappland's mocking gaze, Chizui couldn't help but feel angry. There was no reason for her to say such things. The little bit of friendliness she had for Lappland, who had saved her life, was completely worn away.
"Is that so? Then it seems I misunderstood. It's my fault. My thoughts were filthy, and that's all I could think of. I apologize to you."
Lappland wore an inscrutable expression as she smiled and bowed in apology to Suri, leaving everyone wondering what she was up to.
"So, things are settled?" Su Rui glanced at the scanned view with a puzzled look: "I didn't expect the battle to end so quickly... Oh, the Emperor came and called a halt."
Lappland nodded: "After all, the Lord of Wolves is still somewhat useful. If we can utilize them, there is no need to exterminate them all."
"You really have guts, you can only act tough because of what I gave you."
Suri turned off the scanning view and looked at Lappland: "So? What do you want from me? For now, there's nothing else I can give you to do here. We'll have to wait a while before we can take any further action."
“I know.” Lappland smiled as she approached Suri, placing her hands on either side of Suri’s cheeks and looking down at Suri, who was sitting on the sofa with her tail wagging gently.
"Didn't I say before? My thoughts are filthy precisely because I want to be with you..."
There was no need to say anything more. Lappland suddenly lowered her head and sealed Suri's lips with hers.
The sudden change made both Suri and Chiri stiffen. Suri's tail stopped wagging and then she tried to pat Lappland to make her let go.
However, the soft tail had no killing power or deterrent effect. When Suri's tail slapped against Lappland, it only made a slight, dull sound, like hitting someone with a pillow.
Lappland let out a snicker, but said nothing. She simply moved closer to Suri, then cupped Suri's cheeks in her hands, preventing her from escaping.
At this moment, opposite Suri and behind Lappland, Chizui finally reacted. Although as the judge he decided to turn a blind eye to Suri's behavior after some debate, Chizui would never let go of what was happening in front of him.
"Lappland, please release Mr. Suri, or I will have to resort to force!"
