Su Rui's breathing became erratic. He took a deep breath and his fingers typed faster on the keyboard: "...five minutes."
Five minutes later, Su Rui closed her laptop and was about to stand up when the communicator on the table suddenly rang.
He frowned and reached for the communicator: "Hello?"
A capable female voice came from the other end of the communicator: "Lord Su Rui, we need you to confirm the details of tomorrow's patrol arrangements in the infected community."
Just as Su Rui was about to answer, Nightingale's fingers suddenly touched his Adam's apple, gently caressing it. His voice caught for a moment, barely managing to steady himself: "...Speak."
"At nine o'clock in the morning, first go to the medical station in the East District, and then..."
Nightingale's lips brushed against his earlobe and gently bit it. Suri's fingers clenched the communicator tightly, his knuckles turning white.
"...And then what?" The voice on the other end of the communicator sounded puzzled.
Suri took a deep breath, trying to make her voice sound normal: "...Continue."
Shining stood behind him, her fingers running through his dark hair, gently combing it, her movements tender yet carrying an undeniable force. Her lips pressed against the back of his neck, her breath warm.
The person on the other end of the communicator seemed to sense something, and their voice became hesitant: "Lord Su Rui? Are you... alright?"
"I'm fine." Su Rui's voice was a little hoarse. "Send the arrangements to my terminal, and I'll confirm them later."
"Okay, then..."
Nightingale's fingertips slid to his shirt collar and gently unbuttoned the first button. Suri jumped up, nearly dropping the communicator.
"—That's it, I'm hanging up." He said this almost through gritted teeth, then quickly cut off the communication.
A brief silence fell over the office.
Nightingale and Shining exchanged a glance and smiled simultaneously.
"Is the work finished?" Nightingale tilted her head, her golden eyes gleaming with mischief.
Su Rui took a deep breath, a dangerous glint flashing in his dark eyes: "...You won."
Suri was still a little dazed when he was pushed onto the sofa. Nightingale straddled his lap, her fingers gently stroking his cheek, while Shining wrapped her arms around him from behind, her silver hair falling over his shoulders.
“Now, it’s our time,” Nightingale said softly, lowering her head to kiss his lips.
The kiss was tender and intimate. Suri initially resisted, but was quickly overwhelmed by her breath. His fingers unconsciously gripped her waist, pulling her closer.
Shining's hand slipped under his shirt, her fingertips tracing his abs, satisfied to feel his body tense instantly. Her lips brushed against his ear, her voice laced with laughter: "Relax..."
Suri's breathing became completely erratic. He tilted his head slightly, and Shining's lips naturally covered his. Unlike Nightingale's gentleness, Shining's kiss was aggressive, as if she wanted to possess him completely.
Nightingale's fingertips unbuttoned the remaining buttons of his shirt, her lips sliding down his chin to his collarbone, where she gently bit him. Suri groaned softly, his fingers slipping through her blonde hair, unconsciously tightening.
“…You…” His voice was so low and hoarse, “…Enough is enough.”
"No." Shining refused decisively, his fingers already sliding to his belt buckle.
The nightingale looked up, a sly smile playing in its golden eyes: "Tonight... you can't escape."
Suri wanted to say something, but Nightingale's lips covered his again, silencing all his protests.
Outside the window, the night in Casimir was deep, neon lights shimmering on the glass, while inside the office, the temperature was rising higher and higher...
Suri was already awake when the morning sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains.
Nightingale nestled in his arms, her golden hair cascading over his chest, her breathing steady. Shining slept on the other side, her silver hair spread across the pillow, her arm still draped around his waist.
Suri sighed softly, her fingers stroking Nightingale's hair, then glancing at Shining's peaceful sleeping face, a helpless smile unconsciously appearing on her lips.
"...I'm truly defeated by you guys."
He carefully moved his body, and just as he was about to get out of bed, Nightingale suddenly reached out and grabbed his wrist.
"Sleep a little longer..." she mumbled sleepily.
Shining also slightly opened her eyes, her gray-purple pupils half-closed: "...Where do you want to go?"
Su Rui looked at the two of them, and finally lay back down helplessly.
"...Never mind, I'll sleep for another ten minutes."
Nightingale nuzzled his shoulder contentedly, while Shining wrapped her arms around his waist again and buried her face in the crook of his neck.
Volume 12, Chapter 730: Negligence and Rewards
In the executive office of the Business Federation, Su Rui was reviewing a report on his terminal, his fingertips lightly gliding across the screen, his brow slightly furrowed. Outside the window, the neon lights of Kazimir were still flashing, but his attention was now entirely focused on the numbers and terms—the distribution of supplies in the infected community had run into problems again, and this time, the problem happened to be related to someone who was supposed to be in charge of overseeing it.
The office door was gently pushed open, and Platinum walked in with light steps, carrying an exquisite metal case in her hand.
"Mission accomplished~" she said with a smile, placing the box on Su Rui's desk. "All the medical supplies from the infected community have been recovered, not a single one is missing."
Su Rui looked up, his gaze shifting from the screen to her face, then slowly down to the metal box. His expression remained largely unchanged; he simply gave a soft "hmm."
Bai Jin blinked, seemingly dissatisfied with his reaction. She leaned slightly forward, placing her hands on the table, her long, silvery-white hair slipping down her shoulders, the ends almost touching the back of Su Rui's hands.
"That's it?" She tilted her head, her tone slightly coquettish. "I went through so much trouble to snatch these things back from those black market dealers, and I even got my clothes dirty."
Suri's gaze swept over her—indeed, her coat was dusty, and there was even a tiny tear on the cuff, clearly indicating she'd been through a fight. But even so, her smile remained bright, even carrying a hint of self-satisfaction.
"Thank you for your hard work," he said calmly, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. "But before that, I have something to ask you."
Bai Jin paused for a moment, then laughed again: "Hmm? What is it?"
Su Rui's gaze darkened.
Why did this batch of supplies end up on the black market?
Platinum's smile froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered: "Ah... well, maybe there was a problem with the transportation?"
"The transportation process?" Su Rui's voice turned colder. "You, Bai Jin, are in charge of transporting this batch of supplies."
Platinum tapped the table lightly with her finger, her eyes flickering for a moment: "...Yes."
Su Rui stared at her, remained silent for a few seconds, then slowly stood up, walked around the desk to her. Bai Jin subconsciously took a half step back, but quickly straightened her back, raised her chin to meet his gaze.
"What were you doing at the time?" he asked.
Platinum blinked, a sly smile playing on her lips: "Hmm... shopping?"
Suri's brows furrowed even deeper.
"shop?"
“Yes, a new dessert shop opened on the shopping street. I heard their strawberry cake is especially delicious,” Bai Jin said with a smile, even gently tugging at Su Rui’s sleeve. “Shall I take you to try it next time?”
Su Rui's eyes turned completely cold.
"platinum."
His voice was low, carrying an undeniable air of pressure. Platinum's fingers stiffened for a moment, finally fading from her smile and pursing her lips.
“…Okay, I admit, I wasn’t really watching the transport team at the time,” she muttered to herself. “But who would have thought someone would dare to rob the Business Federation’s supplies…”
Su Rui took a deep breath, seemingly trying her best to suppress some kind of emotion.
"This batch of supplies contains antibiotics and inhibitors that are urgently needed in the infected community," he said, emphasizing each word. "Do you know what the consequences would be if we couldn't retrieve them in time?"
Platinum lowered his head, lightly rubbing his toes on the ground, revealing a rare hint of guilt.
"……Know."
"You knew that, yet you still went shopping?"
"Because I really wanted to eat cake..."
Su Rui closed his eyes, seemingly enduring something. Bai Jin secretly glanced at him, and seeing his expression, couldn't help but move closer, her fingers gently hooking the hem of his clothes.
"Don't be angry..." she whispered, "I've already gotten everything back, haven't I? Besides, I've also raided all those black market dealers' hideouts, so I guarantee they'll never dare to mess with these supplies again."
Su Rui opened his eyes and looked at her face so close to his, her amber eyes gazing at him with a hint of ingratiation.
“This is not a reason to reward you,” he said.
Platinum pouted, then suddenly stood on tiptoe, almost pressing herself against him.
"Then... you can punish me too?" she whispered in his ear, her warm breath brushing against his earlobe. "You can punish me however you want."
Suri's body stiffened visibly. He instinctively reached out and pressed her shoulder, trying to push her away, but Bai Jin seized his wrist and gently stroked his skin with her fingertips.
"Platinum." His voice was tense. "Stop messing around."
“I’m not joking,” Platinum said with a smile, her other arm already around his waist. “I just think… you look quite handsome when you’re angry.”
Su Rui's breath hitched slightly. He looked down at her, and his usually calm and composed dark eyes were now somewhat wavering.
"……open."
"I won't let go." Platinum pressed even closer, practically hanging on him. "Unless you promise not to be angry anymore."
Suri's fingers tightened slightly, as if in struggle. Platinum could sense his resistance, but she had no intention of backing down—she knew him too well, knowing that although he appeared cold on the surface, he was actually not good at handling this kind of direct intimacy.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, Su Rui turned her head slightly and said in a low voice, "...This is the last time."
Platinum's eyes lit up, and she immediately pressed herself closer, her lips almost touching his chin.
"And... what about the reward?"
Suri's Adam's apple bobbed, and she finally reached out and pressed her forehead, pushing her away a little.
There is no reward.
Platinum clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction, but quickly laughed again.
"Then I'll take it myself."
After saying that, she suddenly stood on tiptoe and quickly kissed Su Rui on the lips.
Su Rui froze completely.
Platinum, satisfied, took two steps back, licked his lips, and smiled like a cat that had just stolen some fish.
"It tastes good."
Suri's ears turned red at a visible speed. He stared at Platinum for a long time before gritting his teeth and saying:
"……go out."
Platinum tilted his head, pretending to think for a moment.
"No."
"platinum."
"I'm here~"
Suri took a deep breath, finally losing her temper, and grabbed her by the back of her collar, shoving her toward the door like a cat. Platinum laughed and struggled, but was ultimately pushed out of the office by Suri without any mercy.
Before the door slammed shut, she peeked through the crack and winked at him.
See you on the next mission!
Suri closed the door expressionlessly.
Next time, let Shining stand next to me, and see what you do then.
Volume 12, Chapter 731: The Guy Who Should Disappear
The night in Kazimierz was as dark as ink, and neon lights cast a hazy glow on the rain-soaked streets. When Suri pushed open the door to her private apartment, she was still feeling the chill of the night breeze.
In the living room, Shining was leaning against the sofa reading a book, her grey-purple eyes gleaming serenely in the lamplight. Nightingale sat by the window, her fingertips gently plucking the strings of a harp, the melodious notes flowing through the air.
Hearing the door open, the two of them looked up at the same time.
"You're back?" Shining closed the book, a slight smile playing on her lips.
Nightingale put down her harp, her golden eyes curving into crescents: "An hour later than expected."
Su Rui took off her coat and casually hung it on the hanger, her voice sounding somewhat tired: "...Something came up and I was held up."
Shining stood up, walked to him, and reached out to touch his cheek. Her fingertips were slightly cool, which made Su Rui subconsciously relax a little.
"You don't look well," she said softly.
Nightingale came over and wrapped her arms around Suri's waist from behind, resting her chin on his shoulder: "Do you need me to help you relax?"
Su Rui closed his eyes, letting their scents envelop him. He was indeed exhausted—the restless puppets of the Business Federation, the allocation of resources in the infected community, the covert power struggles between various factions… every single thing felt like an invisible chain, suffocating him.
“…I’ll make a phone call first,” he said in a low voice.
