I'm drawing an action-packed anime within a depressing one!

Could the kitten's original fighting strength defeat the Bone-Faced Dog?

That's not important!

For the sake of the plot! It has to be unable to win here! How can we team up if we win?

How can the swarm team fighting the demons possibly assemble?! The plot shouldn't be going off the rails, right?

I don't know why.

Tian Xiaoxi had a bad feeling.

...

After writing the entire plot, Tian Xiaoxi quickly typed in a long string of descriptions of her appearance.

Broken! Withered and faded! So pitiful!

The plot doesn't have to be good.

But absolutely no more childish, boring, insulting to her superb drawing skills, or insulting to her eyes!

Extract! Image! Painting!

After finishing writing this part of the story, Tian Xiaoxi was filled with excitement and anticipation.

A blood-red encounter!

"A twist of fate!"

"Only deadly danger can evoke emotional responses from readers! You have to master that!"

release!

...

On the day the first episode of Black Cat Detective was completed, He Zhou indeed received a notification of increased popularity.

[Character popularity increased by 0.0001]

[Character popularity increased by 0.0001]

It also included a couple of scattered comments.

【Wow, this drawing is so abstract! Haha…】

[People sometimes chuckle when they're speechless. The thing is, this comic is so simple, the lines are so abstract, yet I actually got into it. Am I crazy?!]

A new comment popped up below, catching He Zhou's attention: "[Tian Xiaoxi, why did you change your author account? You don't think we won't know you're a slacker just because you changed your account, do you?]"

So this female comic artist's name is Tian Xiaoxi?

Oh.

Dead eunuch!

...

"Only 0.0002 added..."

Just how unpopular is this comic?

He Zhou sighed. Oh well, at least it's a little better than before.

Moreover, it takes time for word-of-mouth to spread.

Before that, I still need to build a good relationship with Jiang Dai.

After more than a week of tireless feeding, Jiang Dai finally overcame the stage of hissing whenever she saw me. Instead, she would twitch her ears, look at me with a slightly wary gaze, and then lie down on the desk to sleep.

The exposed half of her face was delicate and fair, with curled eyelashes. She didn't care that her cheek was bulging out a little from being pressed by her arm, and her hair was very smooth as if it had been carefully styled.

The way she slept so soundly made He Zhou want to pinch her delicate nose.

I've heard that cats have a very sensitive sense of smell, and touching their noses is like kissing them.

When He Zhou reached out and tried to pinch the tip of her nose...

As soon as he approached, she groggily and warily opened her eyes. She didn't react much when she saw it was He Zhou, but when she saw his hand approaching, she immediately flinched, followed by a terrified, familiar cry:

"what!"

He Zhou: "..."

We've all gotten a bit used to being teased.

...

really.

After waiting a while, a notification popped up indicating that the popularity had increased.

[Character popularity increased by 0.0001]

Book reviews have also appeared.

[Why was this chapter updated after only two panels? What kind of update mode is this? Is it being updated live, panel by panel?]

Why is it this NPC again? Why does he always seem to be hanging around the female lead?

[I remember Tian Xiaoxi mentioning a major plot development in the reader group just now. Where is the plot? Wasn't it something about friendship emerging amidst bloodshed? Where's the bloodshed?]

"?"

He Zhou didn't care at first, but when he saw the new plot, he began to feel a little wary.

New plot?

Yes…

If the comic creator continues to update, they will inevitably add a storyline. So, in what way will this storyline be added?

Is it forced control?

Or is there another way?

He must master this method in order to take the initiative.

...

After drawing part of the second episode of Black Cat Detective and using up all the energy in his lamp pool, he kept an eye on what was happening at school from the start of class to the end.

The classmate next to him remained just as gloomy, seemingly on the verge of death.

The students upstairs who already had the qualifications to be night patrolmen still treated them like they were invisible.

The school still felt eerie, and if you paid close attention, you could even feel the air condensing into a tangible flow…

Everything is normal.

Except for Jiang Dai.

She seemed to be feeling hungry, and had been staring at him longingly for several times today, so He Zhou gave her the dried roasted meat he had prepared in his pocket.

This time, she reached out and took it, ate it up with gusto, and then slept peacefully until get out of class ended.

Knowing that there was a major plot development, He Zhou naturally couldn't miss the opportunity to boost his popularity.

So after class, he followed Jiang Dai.

But as she walked, she arrived at the familiar neighborhood. Before she could say anything, Jiang Dai sniffed the air, shook her head, and then ran away.

"..."

What does she mean by that?

"Take me home?"

And the moment I got home.

He Zhou heard the system notification.

[New redeemable abilities added...]

[View?]

...

Meanwhile, Tian Xiaoxi watched the comic strip unfold the entire time.

Although she sat cross-legged on the sofa, upright and proper, she clenched her fist and said, "Yes!" when she saw Jiang Dai and He Zhou separate.

at last!

In the next frame, Jiang Dai walks alone into the rain.

The streetlight at the alley entrance suddenly flickered.

A pale, bony face with menacing fangs, shrouded in resentment, slowly rose from the shadows behind the trash can.

Behind the bone surface was a long, thin, dark figure that didn't resemble a dog.

Tian Xiaoxi held her breath, her eyes lighting up.

"coming."

"My gift of fate has finally hit you!"

Chapter 6: Abilities Must Match Identity!

When He Zhou heard the prompt, a hint of surprise appeared in his eyes.

But when she opened it, her smile froze.

[Feline balance, night vision, alert ears, motorcycle riding...]

There are many other abilities of Black Cat Sheriff, such as [Patrol Intuition], [Tracking Sense], and [Temporary Restraint], etc.

But they were all gray.

At a glance, all of them have added various exchange conditions.

At the very least, the character must be at least a passerby or cannon fodder.

Temporarily restraining this ability to resist requires 10,000 points of popularity, and the character's identity must also reach the level of a high-profile cannon fodder.

The cheapest and most useful ability is [Alert Ears], and the description below is very simple.

[Alert Ear - Level 0]

[Source: The NPC cat in the first episode of "Black Cat Detective"]

[Effect: Can occasionally detect very faint unusual sounds.]

[Redeem Identity: NPC]

[Redemption Popularity: 0]

[Next Level: Alert Ears - Tier 1]

[Upgrade Requirements: Character status reaches background level, popularity value 1]

It can be upgraded?

Do we need a little more popularity?

...

He Zhou let out a long sigh.

Therefore, the most important thing is not ability, but popularity, the popularity of the character!

The more popular the comic!

The more talent you attract, the more attention you get!

The more people who follow you, the higher your popularity will be when you have a highlight scene in your role!

Only by upgrading your character's status can you gain better abilities!

Otherwise, if my current status and popularity aren't high enough, I won't be able to use my talents even if I create works like "Demon Slayer" or "Jujutsu Kaisen".

I still need to find some simple drawings to practice first.

There was also a line of smaller text below.

[Note: Abilities that do not conform to the world view of "Yokai City" will be automatically filtered out.]
