"It was just a casual remark. Actually, my real purpose today was to see Teacher Shen wearing knee-high socks as soon as possible." The boy bowed respectfully.
"As expected, he'll never change his filthy and vulgar aesthetic." The girl shifted her legs, glancing at him with disdain.
"Teacher Shen is clearly an elegant and lovely lady, but my aesthetic sense, which appreciates her, is considered vulgar and obscene. It's like saying that the flowers on the tree are beautiful, but the people under the tree who appreciate them are low-class. Why is that?" The boy stroked his chin seriously, as if he was pondering some philosophical question.
“Because now it’s mice, not people, who appreciate flowers. That’s the difference between me and Cheng Feiyu.” Shen Xi tossed her hair and snorted softly.
"So you're completely unfazed by the assumption that we're not the same species? No wonder you're the Protoss Queen, you have that kind of conviction." The boy nodded in understanding.
"Shut up. If you like looking at legs, then stare at them properly and stop spouting nonsense." The girl kicked him again.
"It's kind of cute that you've allowed me to look at legs all the time." The boy sighed comfortably, glancing at the pair of legs beside him that were a work of art on public display, before getting back to what he was doing.
"Trash, let me ask you a question." Shen Xi stared at the book, ignoring his words.
"Speaking?"
"What exactly do you plan to do with that Lin guy?" the girl asked coldly, her voice unwavering.
"If I remember correctly, this issue was just discussed in the last meeting? Although I have no objection if Teacher Shen wants to hear it again." The boy tilted his head, casually examining that beautiful yet cold face.
"Forget about self-deception and perfunctory explanations. I want to hear the truth. The way that guy surnamed Lin has been acting these past two days doesn't seem like he's sad at all; on the contrary, he seems quite happy." Shen Xi stared at the book, narrowing her eyes.
"I didn't expect Teacher Shen to pay so much attention. Could it be that she secretly came to my classroom to investigate?" The boy wondered. He thought back carefully but couldn't find any such signs. Of course, it could also be because his senses weren't sharp enough.
"Sorry, I'm not that bored. I just happened to see her in the cafeteria with that vixen."
"Well, having Nana as a phased array radar is really convenient," the boy exclaimed.
"So how is Cheng Feiyu going to explain?" The girl put down her book, raised her chin, and stared at the wall thoughtfully. "Of course, you don't have to explain if you don't want to."
As soon as the words were spoken, the air in the club activity room fell silent, as if the chill of late autumn was stirring outside the door.
The boy looked at that familiar, indifferent little face, sighed softly, and then smiled, "Shen Xi, I love you."
The girl whirled around and stared at him, her brows furrowed, her uniform shoes delivering a sharp blow. "Trash, don't run away from the problem."
"I just thought Teacher Shen looked adorable, so I couldn't help but say it." The boy's smile remained unchanged.
"I understand. It seems you don't want to explain." The girl bit her lip and turned her face away, then moved the steel pipe chair to create some distance between herself and him, as if drawing a line between them.
"That's too much. I won't explain unless I've said it." The boy looked at the slightly displeased little face with a doting expression.
"Then hurry up and explain, stop beating around the bush." The girl glared at him fiercely.
"I want to go on a date with Teacher Shen today," the boy said, looking at her again.
"Trash, do you even need to explain?" The girl raised her voice, becoming even more impatient.
"I just wanted Teacher Shen to sit in my lap and explain, is that not allowed?" the boy said calmly.
Shen Xi paused for a second, took a deep breath, and stood up with extreme displeasure, looking down at him. After the boy adjusted the steel pipe chair and table to create distance, the girl sat across his lap, sitting upright as if she were in a chair, squinting her eyes and staring intently at the wall, as if there was something hateful on it.
"Shen Xi, why are you so cute?" Cheng Fei hugged the girl and let her snuggle into his arms.
That frail body softened almost without resistance, her head resting on his shoulder, her uniform shoes tapping the ground naturally. She shifted slightly to make herself comfortable, her small face still coldly turned towards the wall. "Alright, start explaining."
“Okay.” The boy looked at the tense little face with interest, then thought for a moment, and said seriously, “The explanation is that I love you.”
Shen Xi's eyelids twitched, as if she could no longer bear it. Suddenly, she hugged his neck, pulled open his collar, buried her head on his shoulder, and her stubborn pink lips parted slightly.
"Ouch, Teacher Shen, why are you biting me again?!" The boy was caught off guard.
"Trash, dare to answer another word that's not relevant to the question?!" The girl raised her head, her voice cold and unfriendly.
"Teacher Shen, I know you're in a hurry, but is it really necessary to be in such a rush?" The boy covered a row of small teeth marks on his shoulder, looking wronged.
“Nobody here is in a hurry. It’s Cheng Feiyu who’s just rambling on and on without facing the problem.” Shen Xi’s sharp gaze pierced him.
"Sweetie, calm down, let me explain." The boy put his arm around her back and gently stroked the back of her head, letting her snuggle up to him again.
The girl simply turned her head and buried her face near his collarbone, her head resting against his chin, and said in a muffled voice, "Then hurry up."
"My love for you is the first explanation. No matter what, Your Highness is always number one, so don't worry about that." The boy hugged her tighter, feeling the delicate affection in his arms.
"So what if Cheng Feiyu still has some basic moral principles?" the girl scoffed.
"Then, based on the first point, no matter how we treat Lin Xuanqi, we will always prioritize the feelings of the princess," the young man said casually.
"I hope it's not just a nice way of saying it. Continue." The girl's small hands climbed up his back, slowly tightening their grip to hold herself firmly in the boy's arms.
“Third.” The boy paused for a moment, then buried his face in the girl’s long, dark hair, inhaling the familiar, faint fragrance. “I didn’t expect her to keep bothering me. I’m a bit at a loss with her. I can’t really do anything to her, can I, Shen Xi?”
"Unsurprisingly, Cheng Feiyu couldn't resist Lin's slightest lowering of her stance, and she couldn't even remember how much she used to hate her." The girl sneered, her face buried so that no one could see her expression.
"It's not that I don't remember, it's just that she really shot herself when we broke up. I just had Master Ye unload the bullet beforehand, so it's like she killed her for me. That's why I decided to settle things with her." The young man said softly as he pondered.
The girl's eyes flickered where he couldn't see, "Does 'events' actually mean returning the stolen luck to her?"
The boy looked at the girl in his arms, hesitating to speak, "Little cutie, how did you grow such a clever little brain?"
"Ha, it's just an obvious fact."
The boy clicked his tongue. "Okay, anyway, by that point, my revenge against her was officially over. My original plan was to go our separate ways from then on."
"Do you think that Lin woman will give up so easily? She's already got her eye on you, there's no way she'll be willing to break up with you." The girl scoffed.
"I didn't expect her to be so persistent. You two really are cousins, with exactly the same temper." The young man gently stroked the girl's head.
"Nonsense, get the facts straight, I'm not as stupid as her." The girl said with disdain.
"Really? If we break up, won't Teacher Shen keep chasing after me?" The boy rubbed his chin seriously.
"Of course it will." The girl said coldly, without a trace of emotion. "I will capture Cheng Feiyu and throw him into the superdimensional forge to burn him to ashes and then use him to plant flowers. That's the consequence of betraying me."
The boy shuddered. "Teacher Shen, are we going to spend our whole lives planting flower stalks?"
"If you dare to do something that betrays me, then you know whether it's a joke or not." The girl sneered, her face buried in her hands.
"Now I know what 'memes' means, I've really grown up," the boy muttered.
"Stop talking nonsense and get back to the point. Now that she's got him all entangled, what does Cheng Feiyu plan to do?" The girl punched his shoulder.
"First of all, in principle, I will not get back together with her," the boy said firmly.
"Oh."
"I can't let her steal Mr. Shen's girlfriend position again," the boy said seriously.
"Stop trying to confuse the issue. Nobody's sitting in your girlfriend's seat right now," the girl punched him again.
"My girlfriend is sitting in my lap, and she's the cutest girl in the entire universe from head to toe." The boy hugged her tightly without any shame.
"Say another disgusting piece of nonsense?" The girl remained motionless.
"No, I won't get back together with her, so don't worry, Teacher Shen." The boy kissed the girl's head.
"Oh, sorry, nobody here cares about that kind of thing," the girl replied indifferently.
"Is that so? I hope so." The boy remained noncommittal, paused, and then said in a low voice, "But it's true that I can't do anything about her now, so Teacher Shen should understand, right?"
“Just admit your incompetence outright, and then beg me for understanding,” the girl said with a hint of sarcasm.
"Perhaps it's a bit incompetent, but it's also Teacher Shen's fault." The boy rested his face on her head.
"Nonsense, what does that have to do with me?" the girl asked, puzzled.
“If it were before, I’m confident I wouldn’t have been polite to her. After all, she wasn’t polite to me either. I have no obligation to be considerate of her, and I don’t have that kind of magnanimous feeling.” The boy’s tone turned cold.
"It's not surprising that Cheng Feiyu has such a narrow-minded and despicable nature," the girl sneered.
"It's a realistic decision, thank you. Now that we're even, let's draw a clear line completely to avoid being trapped in the past and wasting our energy on feelings that are destined to be meaningless." The boy's tone was serious.
"So why doesn't Cheng Feiyu act a little more cold-blooded now?" Shen Xi raised her head and stared at him expressionlessly.
The boy looked into those pure, dark eyes and sighed with relief, "Because there's this self-righteous little cutie who criticizes my character in front of me all day long, I can't be the same as before."
952. Two people who simply see through each other.
"Nonsense, is it my fault?" Shen Xi stared intently at Cheng Fei, her brows furrowed.
"In a sense, it is Teacher Shen's fault. Please reflect on your actions, Teacher Shen." The boy nodded respectfully.
"It's one thing to hesitate, but to push the blame onto me is utterly absurd, Cheng Feiyu." The girl gritted her teeth, a little annoyed, and abruptly turned her face to look at the wall, leaving him with a cold, soft cheek.
The boy didn't speak, but simply smiled as he gazed at her delicate profile.
Shen Xi waited a moment, then glanced at the boy out of the corner of her eye. Her brows furrowed, and she seemed even more annoyed.
“Little cutie, even if I really did something to Lin Xuanqi now, you wouldn’t be satisfied, would you?” Cheng Fei said softly. “After all, it has been proven that your mother’s matter has nothing to do with Madam Lin.”
"Sorry, but that doesn't mean I'm satisfied with your continued connection with her." The girl stared at the wall, emphasizing her words in a muffled voice.
"It's not quite to the point of being entangled yet, is it? Right now, it's just that she's persistently clinging to me." The boy's smile turned helpless.
"Ha, that's how it is now, who knows what will happen in the future?" The girl remained unmoved.
"So the first thing I want to say is that I love you, Shen Xi." The young man stroked her smooth hair, revealing more of her cold little face to him. "No matter what, making my little darling happy is the top priority."
The girl glanced at him again out of the corner of her eye, her eyes flickering, then turned her face away so he couldn't see her, her voice cold and unwavering, "Anyway, Cheng Feiyu always has the best way of speaking."
"Not at all. I didn't disappoint Teacher Shen in anything I did, did I? Whether it was about Nana or Master Ye." The boy said without any guilt.
"I can't understand how thick-skinned aquatic mammals must be to maintain this kind of confidence while juggling three relationships at once." The girl gritted her teeth.
"Because Teacher Shen is sitting so cutely in my lap right now, it means I haven't disappointed her yet." The boy hugged her and smiled with a hint of pride.
"Trash, don't laugh. Get this straight, this is the result of my kindness in tolerating you. Stop being so self-righteous." The girl twisted her body as if in warning.
The boy's expression hardened. "I was wrong. Thank you, Teacher Shen, for your kindness and tolerance all this time. I can never repay your kindness."
"I don't want to hear any flattering nonsense." The girl's face remained tense.
"And then again, it's not certain that things will actually happen between them," the young man sighed.
Shen Xi tilted her head slightly to look at him, suspicious, "What do you mean?"
"As I just said, in principle, I will not get back together with her. Teacher Shen is my girlfriend." The young man said seriously.
"Here we go again. There's no one here who's your girlfriend." The girl subtly turned her face away.
"It's not now, and it won't be in the future." The young man lightly patted her head, paused, and then said, "So no matter how hard she tries, if she can't accept it in the end, it's not my fault."
Shen Xi lowered her eyes thoughtfully, then raised her head to stare at the boy, and suddenly let out a cold laugh, with a kind of inexplicable contempt.
"Teacher Shen, what's with that expression?" The boy looked at her.
"So after all this talk, the truth is that as long as Lin recognizes reality and is willing to be like the vixen and Ye Shuang, Cheng Feiyu won't be able to refuse her." The girl's sharp gaze seemed to pierce through him.
The boy paused for a second, looked into her eyes, and said, "First of all, Teacher Shen has to agree. Teacher Shen's opinion is paramount."
"Cheng Feiyu really knows how to focus on the key points now." The girl turned her face away again, with an indescribable displeasure.
"Not at all, I've always been like this," the young man sighed.
"Trash, that's why I can't refuse her." The girl buried her face in his chest again, her voice cold and displeased.
"I wouldn't say that. I still try to keep my distance from her as much as possible, and so far I've been doing a good job." The boy nodded to himself.
"Pretending to be determined and deceiving yourself is one thing, but talking about keeping your distance shows that you've already started to soften. If you let her keep pestering you for a while longer, even the last bit of desire to take revenge on her will disappear. This is Cheng Feiyu's laughable willpower; she can't even persist in taking revenge for long." The girl sneered with her face down.
"Isn't that a bit much? I've been pretty cold to her all day, though I do have a desire to get revenge on her." The boy rubbed his chin.
"Heh, she's already showing that happy look. You can guess what her true feelings are. Stubborn Cheng Feiyu."
The boy remained nonchalant. "Teacher Shen, who's being stubborn here? You said before that you weren't interested in interfering in my affairs, but today you're chasing after me asking what I plan to do. You're actually very concerned. Please reflect on your inconsistent words and actions."
"Stop slandering me. Make it clear that I have no interest in interfering. Today I only asked Cheng Feiyu what he planned to do, and I said that if I didn't want to explain, I didn't have to!" The girl raised her voice, suddenly becoming unhappy.
The boy pressed down on her shoulders, forcing her to lift her head from his embrace. "You really have no interest in interfering? Even if I get back together with her right now, you still won't interfere?"
"What did Cheng Feiyu say?" The girl's pupils contracted, revealing an expression as if she had heard something heinous.
"I meant even if, hypothetically," the boy quickly said.
"Trash! What I meant by not being interested in interfering is that Cheng Feiyu can decide whatever he wants, but after Cheng Feiyu makes his decision, it's also my freedom to decide what I want to do. If I end up as ashes and put in a flowerpot, I'll have to bear the consequences!" The girl punched his shoulder hard, turned her face away fiercely, as if there was already an incinerator burning fiercely on the other side of the wall.
"Isn't this interference? It's practically a death threat!" The boy was shocked. "Teacher Shen, do you remember how kind you used to be? How come you've become increasingly wicked while I'm trying to be good?"
"Even if that's really the case, it's still the result of Cheng Feiyu's influence. You have a problem with that?!" The girl glared at him defiantly.
"Teacher Shen, I think you're really hypocritical. You're always criticizing me for this and that!" the boy shouted.
