1025. The two sat together again.

The club activity room where the two were located was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. A gentle autumn breeze drifted in through the open window, softly ruffling the cool, silky long hair of the girl.

Cheng Fei stood beside her, watching her without saying a word for a long time.

Shen Xi sat on the steel pipe chair, staring coldly at the boy. After a moment, she lowered her eyes and continued reading, her voice light and emotionless, "Disgusting."

The boy withdrew his gaze, sighed with relief, walked around to her left, sat down in his own spot, crossed his arms and supported himself on the table, continuing to gaze at that exquisitely beautiful face that seemed to contain all the beauty in the world, as if he intended to look at her forever as long as she didn't object.

"You can just say what you want to say. Being stared at like that by a rat really makes me want to vomit." The girl glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and then looked away, her face showing no sign of disgust.

"I thought you weren't coming back for a long time," the boy said softly.

"Nonsense nonsense." The girl didn't even look up.

"Otherwise, why did you leave without saying a word?" The boy felt an indescribable sense of security as he listened to her familiar voice.

"Excuse me, but it's my freedom to move wherever I want, and I don't need to explain it to anyone." The girl raised her chin, her tone leaving no room for argument.

"So you're not going to live on Guang'an Street anymore? Why?" the boy asked curiously.

The girl glanced at him and said, slowly and deliberately, "The hygiene is terrible, there are rats."

The boy hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

"Also, please don't go to Qingjiang Road so casually. I don't want to explain this to Aunt Tao," the girl said again, sounding annoyed.

"I had no choice, otherwise where would I find you?" the boy said helplessly.

"He usually disappears into the sewers for days on end, and you can't call him back no matter what. But when I leave, he comes running out in a panic. It's ridiculous." The girl sneered, not without sarcasm.

"Sigh, I guessed you'd be like this from the start, so there's no need to be in a rush," the boy sighed, shaking his head.

The girl narrowed her eyes and her gaze sharpened, an inexplicable chill spreading outwards. She forcefully closed the book on her lap and looked up at the wall.

"I was just kidding. Actually, I was really worried. I searched for you everywhere until midnight. I was so worried about you." The boy changed his story in a second.

The girl let out a cold, ambiguous laugh, the chill dissipated, and she opened her book to continue reading as if nothing had happened.

The boy looked at her for a moment, then silently got up, moved the steel pipe chair next to her, and sat down, peering at the book on her lap with a studious look.

The girl glanced at him, narrowed her eyes, and stubbornly kept her pink lips tightly closed.

The boy hesitated for a moment after seeing the contents of the book, then got up from his chair and squatted down beside it. He slightly lifted the open book from the side and his pupils contracted when he saw the words on the spine.

During this process, the girl's snow-white and delicate "absolute territory," accentuated by her black over-the-knee stockings, was inevitably and clearly revealed to the boy.

The girl looked down at the scene from her high vantage point, paused for a moment, and then her murderous gaze pierced him, releasing a chilling aura.

The boy shivered, looked down at his nose and mind, got up and returned to his chair, pursed his lips, and asked, "Teacher Shen, are you moving to live near the seafood wholesale market?"

"What kind of illogical nonsense is this now?" The girl frowned slightly.

"Otherwise, what's the point of the 'Bible of Precise Fish Cutting Techniques'?" The young man glanced at the book in her hand without saying a word.

"I just happened to see it in the bookstore yesterday, and I bought it because I was interested. Any objections?" The girl glanced at the book cover, her cold face remaining expressionless.

"No, it's Teacher Shen's freedom to choose what books to read," the boy quickly shook his head.

"There's no need to pretend. Just say what you want to say." The girl closed the book, took a deep breath, and sounded impatient.

"What's with all this pretense?" the boy asked, looking bewildered.

"I finally get to be with Nagasaki Asuna openly, why am I not enjoying being the obedient and enviable Sakura school beauty girlfriend? What am I doing here?" The girl spoke quickly to the wall.

"Shen Xi, I was forced into this. Just pretend I lost my mind a couple of days ago." The boy mourned.

"Ignore the obvious nonsense." The girl's expression remained unchanged, and she didn't even look at him.

"Then why do you still do this?" the boy asked, looking at her.

"How about it?"

"They moved away and ignored us."

"Otherwise? I'm just an ex-ex-girlfriend, that's the truth, everyone in Sakura knows that." The girl stared at the wall, her voice growing colder as she raised her voice. "The most sensible thing to do is to stay away and avoid suspicion. Please have some self-awareness, you're Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend classmate."

"Actually, the people at Sakura have no idea that we had a past relationship," the boy muttered to himself.

"What did you say?" The girl turned her head.

"What I mean is, there's no need to go to such extremes. Any requests can be discussed." The boy's expression hardened.

"Fine, then please go downstairs now and announce that you're retracting your public confession from that day, and then fulfill our previous agreement." The girl's cold voice, tinged with a barely perceptible tremor, spoke without hesitation, her pure, dark eyes fixed on the wall.

"As long as I do it, Teacher Shen can immediately load the save file and return to that day's state?" The boy peeked into her field of vision.

"No problem." The girl's slender, snow-white neck twitched slightly.

"Okay, just a moment." The boy pushed back his chair and stood up, putting his hands in his pockets as he walked towards the front door.

The girl's gaze shifted, her peripheral vision locking onto his back, her eyelashes fluttering slightly.

The boy walked to the door, paused for a second, then turned and sat back down next to the girl. He took a deep breath, lowered his head, and clasped his hands together with a snap. "Shen Xi, I know it hurts me to betray you. If I could, I wouldn't want this to happen. What happened these past few days was all beyond my control. I love you, but I can't just tell everyone now that I actually like you, not Nagasaki Asuna. That wouldn't be good for either of us. You must understand that, right?"

After he finished speaking, the room fell into a long, deathly silence.

"Heh, just as I expected." The girl opened the book and continued reading as if nothing had happened. Only upon close observation could one notice a faint, unidentified light flickering deep within her pupils.

The boy looked at her without saying a word.

"I must have been crazy to actually believe in those so-called safe words," the girl said softly as she turned the pages of her book, the pages trembling. "From now on, I won't be fooled by these tricks again."

"Shen Xi." The boy leaned closer to her, "But I became like this to save you."

"You've already said some obvious nonsense." The girl turned her face away from him, took a deep breath, and her flat chest heaved violently.

"So you're not going to respond at all, and instead you're going to get angry?" The boy moved even closer to that cold yet beautiful little face.

"These are two separate things." The girl bit her lip, her eyes flashing, as if she were having an internal struggle.

"What do you mean by two things?" the boy asked, puzzled.

"Can't you understand this? Of course I'll respond if you save me, and the fact that I can't change the outcome of a public confession is also true!" The girl turned her head sharply to glare at him, suddenly annoyed.

The two were so close that they could almost smell each other's breath.

"So what do you plan to do?" The boy and she locked eyes.

"Like this." The girl turned her face away again, her voice a little muffled.

"What do you mean by 'like this now'?" the boy asked suspiciously.

"Since the outcome of the public confession can't be changed, we're just friends and there's nothing more to our relationship, and there won't be anything more to our relationship in the future. So let's draw a clear line and stop being ambiguous like before. It's that simple! Do you understand?" The girl said, grabbing the steel tubular chair beneath her and moving it away from him, making a loud noise as it rubbed against the ground.

"Okay, so you're back to how you were before you broke up with Lin Xuanqi?" The boy seemed to understand what she meant.

"No." The girl frowned.

"What does that mean?" The boy felt a glimmer of hope.

"Make it clear that your relationship with that Lin girl is at least an order from me, and you can guarantee that you'll break up with her in the future. Right now, you can't even guarantee to break up with Nagasaki Asuna, so we can only keep a much wider distance between us." The girl's tone left no room for argument.

“Actually, it can be guaranteed,” the boy said immediately.

"Promise what?" The girl glanced at him.

The boy hesitated for a moment, then said, "How about I wait another year, break up with Asuna Nagasaki, and then confess my feelings to you publicly?"

The girl only chuckled once.

"Okay, doing it again doesn't seem like a good idea." The boy rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

"So there's nothing more to say. Let's keep our distance, Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend's classmate." The girl glanced at him sideways, emphasizing each word as she spoke the last few.

"At least don't use such a strange name." The boy pursed his lips.

"Then it's Cheng Feiyu." The girl turned her face away, her tone reluctant and strained, as if she wanted to tear the owner of that name to pieces.

"At least don't call me 'classmate'? I still prefer to hear Teacher Shen's old way of addressing me; it's more intimate." The boy realized that since their meeting, the girl hadn't called him that once like before.

"It's better to include classmates, so that others won't misunderstand," the girl said, squinting her eyes.

"So, the date and the meeting are still scheduled, so they should be able to proceed as usual, right?" the boy thought for a moment.

"I'm not shameless enough to go on dates with other people's boyfriends every week." The girl gritted her teeth, her tone becoming increasingly displeased.

"What about the regular meetings?" The young man hesitated, then continued.

"The regular meetings will also be conducted in a standardized manner, and we won't do anything unnecessary. After all, you now have a beloved girlfriend, Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend." The girl spoke again in the same tone, enunciating each word clearly.

"I can tell you really care about this." The boy lowered his head and mourned silently.

His murderous gaze pierced him.

The boy shivered, sat up straight, and thought to himself with mixed feelings, "Does this mean I can't touch Teacher Shen anymore, not even hold her hand or hug her?"

"Obviously, in principle, everything is prohibited, and all previous agreements are null and void." The girl said coldly, without a trace of emotion.

"Then how can I get it back to normal?" The boy asked incredulously, his face turning sorrowful.

"I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do right now." The girl's calm tone was as if stating a fact.

The boy was silent for a second, his shoulders slumped as if all his strength had been drained away. "I understand, as long as Teacher Shen wishes."

"This is a reciprocal decision based on your actions. I can only express my regret. There's no need to make it seem like I'm being heartless and deliberately making things difficult for you," the girl said again, her indifferent tone like that of a dutiful diplomat.

"I understand. So, apart from all that, at least Ms. Shen and I are still friends?" The boy tried to look at her with a roused expression.

"Unless you want to break off all contact, Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend's classmate." The girl said, emphasizing each word.

"Let's use the shorter name." The boy paused for a moment.

"Whatever, Cheng Feiyu." The girl's tone remained unchanged.

After he finished speaking, the air in the club activity room was quiet for a moment.

The boy sighed deeply.

The girl glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and then at the wall, her voice still cold, "If you have any opinions, you can speak them directly. There's no need to sigh and whine over there."

"I have no objections, it's just that I suddenly feel like this with Teacher Shen, and I don't know what to say." The boy leaned back in his chair and smacked his lips. "But no matter what, it's already great that we can still chat like this. That day I thought I was really saying goodbye to Teacher Shen forever."

The girl glanced at him and gave a soft, cold laugh. "You tricked me into leaving, so you got what you deserved."

"No matter what, I at least want you to live, Shen Xi." The boy scratched his head and sighed.

"You were being stubborn that day, but now you're honestly admitting it," the girl sneered.

"Whatever, you don't believe in safe words anyway. I originally wanted to lie to you one last time, even if it meant dying, at least it would make you look at me in a new light." The boy crossed his arms and rested his forehead on the edge of the table, looking either powerless or something else.

The girl tilted her head to watch the boy's back as he lay down, blinked, then lowered her eyes again, her tone inscrutable, "Continue."

"..." The boy didn't move, as if he were asleep.

The girl tilted her head again, her delicate brows furrowing slightly. She gave him a light kick with her uniform shoe, her face turning displeased. "I'll continue."

"What do you mean, continue?" The boy, still lying face down, turned to look at her, listless.

"You haven't finished speaking yet. As expected, your memory is always pitifully poor." The girl subtly turned her face away, making no attempt to hide her disdain.

"In short, the public confession hurt Ms. Shen a lot, so from now on, she forbids me from touching her, but she will still maintain a friendship with me. I understand." The boy nodded dejectedly.

"Upon hearing that holding hands and hugging are prohibited, they immediately become half-dead, like fish that have been left out of the water to bask in the sun for half a day. Their brains are only focused on these filthy and vulgar things. They are truly beyond help." The girl took a deep breath, her tone filled with annoyance at their lack of self-control.

“Teacher Shen, I like you. I finally waited for you to kiss me first, but then it suddenly turned into this. I’m really hurt. I feel like it will take me at least two days to recover.” The boy looked up at the ceiling. “You must have felt similarly these past two days, right? Why is it that there are always so many twists of fate in this world that cause people who love each other to hurt each other instead?”

"Please get your place straight and stop making statements that are inappropriate for your status. You're Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend and classmate." The girl glared at him fiercely, then sighed softly, as if she were pitying his misfortune. "Besides, I haven't even mentioned your response to sacrificing yourself to save me. Of course, if you don't want to hear it, then forget it."

1026. Shen Xi will never again be ambiguous like before.

"How should Teacher Shen respond?" The boy didn't move, remaining listless.

The girl squinted at him, then turned her face away, gritting her teeth. "Still so lifeless. You don't trust me at all. I must be crazy to even try to mend our relationship. Fine, I'm going back. Goodbye!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she put the book into her shoulder bag and stood up abruptly.

"Teacher Shen, no." The boy instantly regained his composure and grabbed her small hand with lightning speed.

"Men and women are different. Please don't touch me. I'm Nagasaki Asuna's boyfriend." The girl turned her head, looking down at him, and said each word slowly and deliberately.
