The Astartes Family's Notebook

The Oathkeepers are one of the very few chapters that operate in the Halo Zone.
As is well known, the Empire’s warp travel relies on the Starlight located on Holy Terra for navigation, and the so-called halo zone is a region of the star where the light of the Starlight is diminished but not completely invisible.
In other words, the Halo Zone is the true frontier of the Empire.
The Oathkeepers have long protected the Imperium from attacks by dark forces from beyond its borders.
It's a battle group worthy of respect.
Even if it is a subgroup of the Dark Angels.
And the Black Knight...
Speaking of the Black Knight, Desolation Wings must be feeling guilty.
When you feel guilty, you naturally lack confidence in your speech.
Back then, on Frankish III, the Oathkeepers and the Desolation Wings were supposed to share the spoils equally.
However, with the death of Warmaster Markarius, large-scale riots broke out in the reconquered world, and the sub-sector where Frankis III was located was not spared.
It's really upsetting.
Alpharis's Chaos Warband, the Headless Serpent, is wreaking havoc across the sector worlds, causing the Wastewing to be in a state of chaos.
Fight! The Wings of Desolation aren't afraid of those bastards. They'll catch them and squeeze the shit out of them.
The problem is they can't catch them; the Afas are so slippery, they're disgusting to the Wasteland Wings.
So the Wings of Desolation sought help from the Oathkeepers.
To deal with Ah Fa, we still need the secret agents; that's what you call a perfect match.
However, the Oathkeepers were embroiled in a protracted tug-of-war in the Halo Zone and were unable to respond to the Wings of Desolation's plea for help. So they outsourced the plea and called upon the Black Knights, who were also members of the Dark Angels' sub-group.
With the Oathkeeper acting as a go-between, the Black Knight's demands were not unreasonable: the three parties would share the profits of Frankish III.
After agreeing on a price, the Black Knight showed Desolationwing what true professionalism looked like.
Five standard Terra months of anti-infiltration, the Black Knight precisely boarded the Serpent's warship, from the big boss to the nine bosses, people need to be cut vertically and eggs need to be broken.
A lunar-class cruiser, with nearly 50,000 personnel, was retrieved by the Mechanics, but they couldn't detect a single living organism signal.
This is what professionalism is all about.
Originally, Motor Sich was worried that the Black Knight and the Oathkeeper would demand an exorbitant price for the four-in-one deal, but the Chapter Commander assured him to rest assured.
Old man, don't leave things unsaid, or your explosives might jam at the crucial moment!
Despite his inner grumbling, if even the battalion commander wasn't nervous, why should a mere fourth company commander be so anxious?
Let's see how things go.
There was nothing wrong with the situation; the Black Knight came to collect his share as usual, and incidentally replenished the fleet with sailors and supplies.
Then they booked an expedition with Motor Sich.
Old man!
Mad Sich cursed the squadron leader in his mind, finally understanding why the old man wasn't nervous.
It turns out the terms had already been agreed upon.
The Black Knight might have even helped the Fourth Company smooth things over, but the price was that the Wasteland Wings would have to send at least two companies to assist in the expedition the Black Knight had arranged.
The fourth company is confirmed to be going, and as for the other company, it will most likely be the second or fifth company.
The Black Knight's expedition was scheduled for eighty years later, and the Fifth Company should be able to return from the Misty Starfield.
Ordinary people may not understand why the Black Knights would call for recruits eighty years in advance.
There is only one reason: it is an empire.
Even the First Legion couldn't compete with the Ultramarines' offspring in terms of development; from the parent legion to the sub-legions, the number of Astartes continued to decrease.
After being thoroughly examined by both the Black Knight and the Oathkeeper, the Desolate Wings has been placed on the limited trust whitelist and is considered a usable friendly unit.
If we don't make a reservation eighty years in advance, what if the Wings of Desolation go to other star systems to join a group?
After all, due to the nature of their work, the Astartes Chapter is either fighting or on their way to fight.
The fact that a chapter like Frankish III, which consistently refreshes its leadership at least once every twenty years, is actually an exception.
"He who eats another's food is bound to be obligated to him; he who takes another's gift is bound to be obligated to him. The commander has already agreed; how could I possibly refuse?"
The original plan was to find a sufficiently exciting battlefield after accepting new recruits, and use the fires of war to mend the rifts within the company.
Now it's all over. The promise has been made, the alliance has been established, eighty years—this timeframe is stuck in the middle, it's so frustrating.
Chapter 9 Am I a Genius?
Leon Al Johnson once punched a genetic offspring in the head in a fit of extreme rage.

Aside from the Ultramarines, very few chapters actually regard the Astartes Codex as their guiding principle.
Because the scriptures are always correct, which is unlikely.
After enduring many hardships in life, one naturally has no shortage of toilet paper.
According to the Codex Astartes, a standard battle regiment should have ten companies: the first company is the veteran company, the second, third, fourth and fifth companies are combat companies, the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth companies are reserve companies, and the tenth company is the recruit company.
As a veterans' company, all the toughest men in the entire regiment were selected for this company. They were all highly capable fighters and were the regiment commander's stretcher team without a doubt.
The second, third, fourth, and fifth companies were the main combat units, equivalent to a Class A division, while the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth companies were Class B divisions, filling in the gaps. After the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth companies suffered combat casualties, their own elite soldiers would be used to fill the vacancies. The tenth company was a recruit company.
To be honest, if the Astartes were truly worthless, it wouldn't have sparked such a huge controversy.
In some ways, the Holy Scripture is really useful; if you follow it, even a fool can manage a warband.
For example, Guilliman himself knew that Astartes could not be regarded as an omnipotent superman. The organizational structure of a thousand-man battle group, with five companies in the main battle and five companies in reserve, was really reasonable.
Therefore, most Astartes Chapters do the same.
However, despite being Primarchs, the obsessive-compulsive disorder common in Astartes was particularly severe in the Space Romans.
What should the first company do? What equipment should the second company be equipped with? The third company must be assigned to the first company. The battle group and fleet belong to the fourth company, blah blah blah. They've given you a rigid, theoretical plan.
While Guilliman may have felt great while writing, the actual rank-and-file commanders used very harsh language.
Boss, you've already split the Legion into Battlebands. These days, the most common tactic used by the Astartes is special operations. You mind-control me to move my bomb gun five centimeters?
Eat shit!
Oh, Guilliman has been lying in the static field for ten thousand years. Well, let's respect the dead and not use such harsh language.
Other Space Marine chapters, to varying degrees, outwardly complied with but inwardly defied the Astartes Codex.
Anyway, Killieman isn't my dad, so why should I pretend to be a dutiful son or grandson if I don't have any idol baggage?
The Wings of Desolation may look like a sacred order, but they are actually quite heretical.
Because during the M40 era, the Wasteland Wings produced a Chosen Warband Leader with impeccable internal affairs skills.
During that period, the number of combat brothers soared to 1,300.
So the chapter master waved his hand and said that he was illiterate, could not read, and could not understand the Astartes.
They're not my ancestors, so what law can't be changed?
If illegal or criminal acts are discovered, they will be punished without exception. Conversely, if one is not caught in the act, then there is no criminal act at all.
During that period, companies six, seven, eight, and nine formed a shadow company.
Don't ask why the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth companies of the Wasteland Wings all have a strength of two hundred people.
It was all an illusion, a complete illusion. Those were the fighting brothers of the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth companies.
Although the Wings of Desolation are doing the same thing now, apart from having over-strengthened their combat brothers by twenty, it's already difficult for the second, third, fourth, and fifth companies to maintain full strength, and the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth companies are practically bursting at the seams.
However, the six hundred-plus members of the Wings of Desolation already constitute a fairly powerful force in the Pacific Starfield.
You're such an easy target. Do you think the judge will speak to you gently?
While Motor Sich doesn't understand fast food chicken, he's not particularly shocked either. When pushed to the limit, people will eat human flesh, so what's fast food chicken compared to that?
However, doing so will greatly reduce internal unity and cohesion, so it's best not to do it unless you're at your wit's end.
Many warbands like to recruit from the desolate, feudal worlds of the dead, such as the Black Knights, the Oathkeepers, and the former Desolace.
The more naive, ignorant, and competitive the seedlings are, the more formidable the Astartes will become.
The saying "bad people come from poor and remote places" has never changed from 2K to 41K.
Therefore, a prosperous hive world like Frankish III was initially not welcomed by the three Classic Chapters.
However, ideals always bow to reality.
Compared to the Martian Mechanicus's technical sages, the Chapter's apothecaries and technical sergeants should all be executed.
You can say that Martian mechanics are bad, but you can't say they're bad at it.
Traditional training methods offer little advantage over memory-filling techniques.
Higher surgical success rates, better gene organ culture, more efficient combat capability enhancement, and safer postoperative recovery.
The recruits produced by Frankish III are superior to those produced by the chapter itself.
Moreover, once recruit training is complete, the Mechanicus provides a full set of power armor, so the chapter no longer needs to worry about equipment.
The fact that the Martian Mechanicus, with its utterly depraved nature, can still thrive in the Empire speaks volumes about its capabilities.
What are the traditional activities for new recruits returning to the unit?
The company has 80 members.
The Astartes Chapter is the name of the organizational structure; internally, the Astartes are structured in a monastic manner.
While there are different ranks and functions, all combat brothers are equal in internal relations, and a military-style management system and military democracy are implemented.
So the sense of déjà vu comes out. Aside from the religious facade of a secret society, what is the Astartes Chapter? They are gangs of brothers!
The Primarch is the big boss of the gang, the Warband Leader is the head of each faction, and the Company Commander is the person in charge of the branch. From red sticks and straw sandals to white paper fans, the Warband has everything that the gang has.
Even the initial challenges faced by newcomers are exactly the same.
After giving a brief introduction to the company's current situation, Motor Sich, respecting tradition, allowed the new recruits to choose their own veterans in a best-of-one (BO1) ranked elimination tournament.
The Astartes are a military organization disguised as a religion, and combat skills are the foundation of an Astartes monk's livelihood.
You new recruits, not yet forty, are in the prime of your lives, full of courage and determination. Don't pity us old veterans. Come on, choose your opponents. Your future standing in the company depends on today.
Seeing the veterans of the Fourth Company, who were originally somewhat divided into two factions, getting along well with the new recruits, Mada Sich felt gratified but also a little uneasy.
He had a premonition that some veterans might be in trouble.
During the last targeted training program, new recruits were assigned to the Second and Third Companies, and Motor Sich was aware of the situation.
The veterans of the Fourth Company had no idea what Sephiroth had done to these new recruits and were simply enjoying the spectacle of manipulating the newcomers.
I really have a feeling something bad is going to happen.
But what does it matter?
After thinking for a moment, Motor Sich decided to wait and see how things went.
He actually enjoys watching stories where things go wrong and he gets slapped in the face.
Chapter 10 I am a farmer, this is a sugar beet
I've never been inferior to anyone in my life. Tell me, do you think I can live to die?
-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
That's a bit weak.
Compared to Sephiroth, the veteran from the company he had chosen didn't seem quite right.
The rules of the duel are: full armor melee combat without a power backpack, first blood.
This means that the Astartes in the battle would need to use their bodies to support 200 kilograms of power armor in close combat.
In full-armor combat, the definition of "first blood" is flexible.
