Fang Jie is just one example.
"Without desire, I speak gently."
“We pulled this child into a dream, giving him the life of a rich second-generation. In this life, he has a billionaire father, never has to worry about food or drink, and never has to worry about whether he will go hungry tomorrow or whether he will be cold sleeping on the street.”
Zhou Yan remained silent.
Wuyu led Zhou Yan out of the street, which led to a beach. On the beach, a handsome young man, who could easily be called a heartthrob, was chatting and laughing with four or five girls.
Wu Yu explained.
"This guy originally lived in the slums. When he was a child, he had no money and could only sell his body to make money. When he grew up, he only received junior high school education and had a criminal record, so he could only become a thug in the slums."
Zhou Yan sighed.
In fact, for many people, their future is already set from the moment they are born. At least for the residents of the slums in the Eastern United States, they will basically live in the slums for their entire lives. This is not a problem that can be solved by studying or working hard.
You are born into a certain environment, so you have to get used to life in that environment. When you grow up and realize that slums are not good, and want to move to a big city or a safe place to live, you will find that you are not used to the rules of those places.
For example, in some riot-affected areas, after some of the fleeing victims who had been killed were taken in by international organizations, some anthropologists discovered that the victims they had taken in exhibited astonishing primitive animalistic characteristics.
It means eating and drinking well every day, being unwilling to learn or think, unwilling to follow rules, unwilling to work hard, refusing to look to the future, and fighting to the death whenever things don't go their way.
The reason is that these refugees from riotous areas have ancestors who lived in turbulent environments for hundreds of years. They lived in places where you didn't know if you would wake up tomorrow. After living in these places for a long time, normal people don't think about the future or learn knowledge. They only know that living happily in the present is more useful than the future.
This is the influence of the environment; the environment can make people rational and intelligent, or it can make people no different from ordinary wild animals.
“I gave this child a chance, let him live in a safe and stable neighborhood, let him grow up and study smoothly, and let him make many friends. Look, this child is now a top student in his school, and many girls like him.”
Wu Yu nodded his chin toward the handsome guy surrounded by girls.
Zhou Yan had nothing to say.
Wu Yu then led Zhou Yan away from the beach. After leaving, a small mountain village appeared in front of Zhou Yan. This small mountain village was quiet and peaceful. From time to time, some children with runny noses could be seen running around. Judging from their appearance, it had the atmosphere of the Eastern Xia United Kingdom sixty years ago.
Wuyu led Zhou Yan to a square where rice was being dried. In the square, a shirtless man was carrying rice and placing it on the ground to dry.
Wu Yu explained.
"This man was once the underground tyrant of Xiaoye City, specializing in arms sales. After I brought him into the dream, I discovered that what he really wanted to return to was the peaceful life he had in his hometown when he was young, farming and harvesting rice."
Zhou Yan sneered.
"We only realize the value of something when we lose it."
A reporter once interviewed a drug dealer. The drug dealer asked the reporter what the police would choose if he were to bribe the local police. He would give the police two options: one is to give them 20% of his daily revenue, and the other is to give them 10,000 yuan directly.
The reporter naturally chose the 20% daily rate, while the drug dealer sarcastically remarked that any police officer with a brain would choose the second option.
The reason is that the mortality rate in the drug trafficking industry is too high. You might hand over a bribe on the first day and then find yourself drowning in a river somewhere the next day. So there's no point in thinking about the long term; you can only make a quick buck and call it a day.
This same logic applies to the gangs of the Eastern Xia United States.
So this so-called overlord wants to go back to being a farmer in his youth simply because he's currently living a miserable, precarious life.
Chapter Twenty-Seven: Little Western Paradise
The monk Wuyu took Zhou Yan to another movie theater. The movie was being screened in advance, and a young director and a group of lead actors were calling out to the audience.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is my new film, 'My Married Life with Keqing.' I hope you enjoy it. Oh, by the way, 'My Affair Diary with Miss Yura' is about to start filming. I hope you can come and watch it next time."
The audience applauded continuously.
The monk Wuyu watched as the director led the main actors off and explained to Zhou Yan.
"This man was just an ordinary video creator, but he dreamed of becoming the world's most famous director, and now, in this world, his dream has come true."
Zhou Yan watched the movie quietly for a while, then shook his head.
"It's really badly made. Only in this world can he realize his dream."
The movie's scene transitions are chaotic, the plot is nonsensical, and apart from the scenes of thighs and the female lead taking a bath used as fan service, everything else is a complete mess.
This kind of movie is the kind that's like, "I took my pants off and this is what you showed me."
Wu Yu smiled and agreed.
"All living beings suffer, all sentient beings suffer, all sentient beings suffer. This suffering is not only physical suffering, but also the suffering of oneself and others. This is what the movie is about. Therefore, the Living Buddha Zhenkong made a grand vow to help all sentient beings escape the sea of suffering and reach the other shore, so that all sentient beings can be saved."
"Now, thanks to the efforts of my junior brother and the Living Buddha, the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom has been perfected, and the Three Worlds King has opened the Buddhist realm, widely welcoming all sentient beings. All those who can enter this world can live the life they love most."
"They can have women they couldn't have in the past, they can have more money than they can spend in a lifetime, and they can get everything they want without any effort."
Zhou Yan asked rhetorically.
2. "A countryman once asked a wise man whether the dung ladle used by the emperor to throw excrement was made of gold."
Jiu Wuyu understood Zhou Yan's meaning.
“Benefactor Zhou, when you take in all living beings, you also absorb their will and thoughts. The Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom reflects everything and fills it up. How do you know that we cannot allow this information to circulate?”
What Zhou Yan meant was, if the people in this dream have never eaten fish, how can they know what fish tastes like?
If they haven't experienced it, how can they know what enjoyment is?
It's like a country bumpkin with limited knowledge thinking that the emperor wants to farm like them, only with more advanced farming tools.
The monk Wuyu replied that those who could enter this dream were actually transformed into information streams and stored in the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, a Buddhist information storage device that can be described as the Buddha's great supernatural power.
So even if some people have never eaten fish, it's enough that others have. Their memories of eating fish can be transferred to them as information.
4. Even if someone doesn't know how to enjoy life, you can simply change the mindset of those who do.
Zhou Yan couldn't help but ask.
How many people are in this dream right now?
The monk Wuyu laughed.
"If we consider only humans, there are only 25 million, but if we consider all living beings, there are a total of 200 billion."
Zhou Yan said in disbelief.
Two hundred billion?
The monk Wuyu explained.
"Flies, insects, birds, fish, and beasts—everything that could be brought in was brought in. The Vacuum Living Buddha shattered his own Bodhisattva Dharma body. The Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, besides reflecting the three lifetimes of all beings, also has the ability to store and use information. Among these abilities, naturally, the more information the better."
The Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom of Buddhism is a inferior version of omniscience. Its function is only to reflect the world, observe the three lifetimes of mortals, and sort out the cause and effect of karma. However, with the help of Mara and a great vow, the Living Buddha of Vacuum has supplemented the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom to the point that it can store and output information.
All the living people in this dream are information stored within the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, constantly interacting with the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom's information. This is because this information is the real experience of tens of millions of other people, and the feedback that each person feels is also incredibly real.
No one would doubt that this world is fake.
The monk Wuyu spoke gently to Zhou Yan.
“Benefactor Zhou, what do you think of this ‘Little Western Paradise’?”
Zhou Yan stammered.
"Little Western Paradise?"
The monk Wuyu was somewhat smug.
"All sentient beings in this place can be born into bliss; can it not be called a miniature Western Paradise?"
Zhou Yan remained silent for a moment, then smiled.
“I suddenly remembered that you guys are doing this. Actually, it’s not just you guys doing this. There’s a group of guys who are just like you guys, and they also like to say goodbye to everyone.”
The monk Wuyu clasped his hands together in prayer.
"Please feel free to speak frankly, benefactor."
Zhou Yan said coldly.
"Those guys are demons."
After the demon enters the body, it reveals the demonic nature of the person, then gives them power, confidence, and allows them to live a life of unbridled joy and freedom.
These monks talk about saving all sentient beings, but in reality, they do the same things as demons.
The monk Wuyu said nonchalantly.
“Benefactor Zhou, I have debated this matter with my master. Do you know how my master answered?”
Zhou Yan shook his head.
The monk Wuyu said respectfully.
"If sentient beings can attain blissful liberation and be free from the entanglements of karmic suffering and the eight kinds of pain, what about demons? What about Buddhas?"
The Living Buddha of Emptiness and Desirelessness said that he knew his actions resembled those of a demon, and that they would attract criticism, but it didn't matter.
The Living Buddha of Vacuum is willing to accept all slander and be cursed by everyone. He is willing to bear all the consequences and then build a happy and peaceful home for everyone so that they can come and live there in comfort.
As the saying goes, I'll bear the sins, and you can take the benefits.
In Buddhist terms, this statement is...
A face devoid of desire reveals compassion.
"If I don't go to hell, who will?!"
Zhou Yan: “(?°?°?)”
……
Zhou Yan's bedroom.
Zhou Yan opened his eyes, sat up straight in bed, then turned his head and spat out the jade pendant from his mouth.
Suzaku, standing by the bedside, asked.
"So? What did you see?" (Book)
Zhou Yan's expression was complex. (The skirt)
"Let's not talk about that yet, Lord Suzaku, we..."
Zhou Yan felt his worldview had been shattered after just one conversation with the monk Wuyu.
Zhou Yan was now unsure whether he should proceed with what he was about to do.
Zhou Yan, filled with complex emotions, sighed repeatedly.
"Forget it, let's go check out Xiaoye City first. Something unusual should be happening soon." Lu
……flow
Xiaoye City. (Three)
Zhou Yan and Zhu Que arrived at the rooftop where the Living Buddha of Vacuum had passed away at 1 PM.
The Azure Dragon was still there. This true god, exuding an air of scholarly refinement, as if he had graduated from some prestigious university, asked with a puzzled expression. 4
"What's wrong? Why did you rush over like that?" Er
After landing, Zhou Yan looked down at the tens of thousands of disaster victims sitting cross-legged. These were all mortal bodies whose souls had been taken away by the Great Perfection Mirror Wisdom.
Zhou Yan had asked Wuyu before when they were in "Little Western Paradise" if it wasn't going too far for them to take away other people's souls like this.
Wu Yu's answer was that everyone whose soul was taken did so voluntarily.
It's not hard to understand, is it? If someone tells you they can have money, girls, a house, and a car without having to work hard, as long as it's not a lie, what normal person would refuse?
These disaster victims did not refuse.
Zhou Yan cracked his knuckles, did some calculations, and then sighed as he looked at Qinglong.
"Lord Azure Dragon, have you ever heard of swarm intelligence?"
Qinglong stroked his chin and nodded.
"I've heard of it, it's something like the theory of the origin of life, right?"
Zhou Yan nodded silently.
The concept of swarm intelligence is that a bee colony can be viewed as a large life form, and each bee can be seen as a cell of that life form. When there are enough bees to form a colony, their lifestyle and behavior will change, making the collective intelligence greater than that of the individual.
The reason for this claim is that the intelligence of a single bee is extremely limited. Complex living habits and complex hive structures cannot be stored in a single bee. Only when a sufficient number of bees gather can these things naturally emerge.
This sudden behavior and leap in intelligence seem to represent a phenomenon akin to a life consciousness.
In contrast, the human brain has 86 billion neurons. The structure and function of a single neuron are very simple: to respond to stimuli transmitted by other nerves. In biology, these 86 billion neurons, taken individually, do not possess the concept of self or consciousness as humans understand them; they are merely mechanisms for responding. However, when these 86 billion neurons are combined, suddenly a "self" and "consciousness" are born.
Qinglong, with a century of experience, recalled a conversation with a physiology professor. The professor first stated that cancer cells could divide indefinitely, suggesting the path to human immortality might lie within cancer cells. He then added that the birth of human consciousness might simply be a process of quantitative change leading to qualitative change in neurons. (汃)
