Kal'tsit listened intently. Although she didn't use a terminal to record, Bai Ye was certain she had memorized every single word he said. Sometimes Bai Ye truly believed that this girl was the real cyborg; she usually behaved with excessive composure, like a machine. Yet, Kal'tsit could also subtly reveal her gentler side.

Even now, Bai Ye still can't unravel the secrets about Kal'tsit; she's truly a mysterious fellow.

While pondering the secrets surrounding Dr. Kal'tsit, Bai Ye explained in detail what had happened in Lontinim and the current situation.

……

"So the natural disaster was indeed caused by you," Dr. Kal'tsit said, suddenly realizing.

As she approached Londinium, she received a warning from the Cataclysmic Messenger. The sudden catastrophe had disrupted Rhodes Island's advance plans. Fortunately, Kal'tsit guessed that White Night might be behind it, so she did not stop the main Rhodes Island ship's advance.

Otherwise, according to normal procedures, the Rhodes Island main ship should still be hiding in the wilderness from natural disasters at this moment, instead of appearing in the port of Londinium.

“Last time in Iberia, I confirmed that you possess the ability to summon natural disasters… Although this ability is terrifying, and it is the most feared power among the people of this land, I believe you will use it in the right way,” Kal'tsit said slowly.

This time, she did not blame Bai Ye for launching the natural disaster, because she knew very well that Bai Ye's actions had indeed prevented a greater catastrophe. Natural disasters would certainly cause losses, but they were always better than dragging the entire land into the abyss of destruction.

……

“Although Rhodes Island has always avoided getting involved in the terrible vortex of power struggles between nations, we obviously cannot stand idly by regarding the Sarkaz and Kazdel situation.” Kal’tsit looked at the map with a solemn expression.

The news will spread quickly, and the Sarkaz operators on Rhodes Island will inevitably be restless. No kind-hearted person would willingly watch their kin suffer.

Besides the Sarkaz, another important matter naturally concerns the ownership of power in Lontinim. Rhodes Island seems to have reason to get involved in this matter, after all, there are still living royal heirs there, as well as the Breath of Kings in Bai Ye's hands.

They simply didn't know what the dukes were thinking.

The biggest problem has been solved, but the remaining trivial matters are also troublesome.

However, before that, Bai Ye had something else to do.

He went into Kal'tsit's office not just to inform the old woman of information; he also had questions that needed to be answered.

"Theresis said that 200 years ago, a Philin led a coalition of nations to destroy Kazdel. Was that Philin you, Kal'tsit?" Bai Ye asked.

Kal'tsit showed no surprise, perhaps she had expected Bai Ye to ask this question. Looking up from her terminal, she admitted:

“Back then, I did something similar to what you did. I had to do it to thwart their plot to overthrow the world.”

Requesting leave (birthday only)

Today is my birthday and also the Lantern Festival, so I'm taking a day off.

Happy holidays to everyone!

I'm going to play Granblue Fantasy now. I want to play as Little Bean; this character looks so fun!

Anyway, let's take a nap first!

Chapter Ninety-Six: Showdown

During the battle, Bai Ye had a brief exchange with Theresis.

In fact, Bai Ye is not good at verbal sparring, and a person with a firm will will not be disturbed by a few words from an enemy, or lose his fighting spirit.

Both Bai Ye and Theresis were undoubtedly aware of this, and they never underestimated each other's willpower. It could only be said that the pre-battle communication was more of a routine.

It was through this exchange that Bai Ye was able to glimpse Dr. Kal'tsit's past, or what is known as her dark history. However, to Bai Ye's surprise, Kal'tsit did not deny it outright; she personally acknowledged the questions Bai Ye had previously raised.

In the past, Kal'tsit did indeed lead a coalition of armed forces from various nations to attack Kazdel and reduce it to ruins.

"I did indeed put them to trial in order to thwart the Sarkaz's plots and plans, and for the sake of peace for the next two hundred years..."

Kal'tsit paused for a moment as she spoke, then continued:

"Yes, but I also admit that I lack understanding of them. When I choose one kind of violence to fight against another, then the war and hatred will not end easily. As you said before, it is a cycle of hatred based on misunderstanding."

Bai Ye nodded, but he was clearly even more surprised, because this was the first time he had heard Kal'tsit admit her shortcomings. And usually, this girl was absolutely right.

“At that moment, it wasn’t just Kazdel that was destroyed, but also myself.” Kal’tsit then revealed an even more unbelievable piece of information.

“Death…?” Bai Ye raised an eyebrow, guessing the meaning of “destroyed” in Kal'tsit’s words.

Kal'tsit confirmed White Night's guess:

“I was killed by Theresis once. He was a remarkable strongman, with extraordinary swordsmanship, and a hero of the Sarkaz.”

Bai Ye smiled and said:

"Indeed, he was a formidable opponent, and this was a rare and exhilarating battle."

Bai Ye didn't actually go all out very often, so every opponent he faced left a deep impression on him.

However, Kal'tsit died once?

This gave Bai Ye a deeper understanding of Kal'tsit's self-proclaimed "long life".

This person doesn't seem to be a simple type of immortal; she can also die. However, death is not the end for her, because she can be reborn.

“Two hundred years ago, I was reborn beside Theresa. She was a special person, an extraordinary person. She changed my perspective and taught me so much more, so many beautiful things,” Kal'tsit said softly.

"Ideals, future, emotions..."

Bai Ye looked at Kal'tsit before him and saw a rare tenderness in the doctor's eyes. As mentioned before, he rarely saw Kal'tsit show emotional fluctuations. That's why the band "Sunset Fades" jokingly called Kal'tsit a robot.

However, at this moment, Bai Ye was certain that Kal'tsit did indeed possess a "human" side. She was capable of understanding and had the power of humanity.

“Theresa changed me, we became friends, and I changed my radical approach from the past. I want to steer the world in the right direction in a different way, and at the same time, help Theresa realize her ideal world.”

"Your Highness... is such a gentle person. She can even change you." Bai Ye now understood the power contained within that seemingly delicate woman.

Therefore, Theresis sought to destroy her, because... even Theresis feared the power his sister possessed. That power was something he could never match, so he could only destroy Theresia and kill her.

"Bai Ye, sometimes I see a similar shadow of her in you, but most of the time, you are incredibly pragmatic, have strong execution skills, and can even make incredibly ruthless decisions. But perhaps, this is the right thing to do. Simple fairy tales cannot save the world; we need more realistic forces. Only when both kinds of forces coexist can we have the power to change the world."

Kal'tsit looked at Bai Ye and said seriously.

Bai Ye shook his head:

“I don’t have her gentleness and greatness; I just… have my own goals. I said before that I would tell you something about myself after I’ve settled things with Lentinium. I think now is a good time, because I also need your help.”

Bai Ye knew that Kal'tsit had connections in various countries, and with her around, Bai Ye's work would go much more smoothly.

Kal'tsit nodded, and as always, White Night activated a soundproof barrier to ensure that nothing that happened here would leak out.

Where should I begin...?

Bai Ye blinked, but when it came time to reveal his true intentions, he hesitated. After all, his previous confrontation stemmed from the incredibly close relationship he had with the girls, where communication was seamless. Moreover, aside from Goredia, the girls trusted him implicitly and wouldn't harbor any ill intentions. And even Goredia wouldn't harm Bai Ye.

However, Bai Ye remained wary of Kal'tsit. She was too mysterious, with many unknown secrets, and she was quite intelligent. Bai Ye felt that the more information he revealed, the more detailed the conclusions she could deduce.

Fortunately, Bai Ye now possesses overwhelming power, and the forces he controls are growing larger and larger. Even Luna has been able to gain a foothold on this land.

……

Kal'tsit was in no hurry; she simply waited quietly.

Bai Ye took a deep breath and then made up her mind.

He looked at Kal'tsit and slowly began to speak:

"Dr. Kal'tsit should also know that this land is just a planet existing in a corner of the universe."

"And there are countless such planets in the universe."

"My story begins on another planet similar to this one."

Bai Ye didn't deliberately hide or omit anything, because Kal'tsit would notice something amiss. Anyway, there was nothing that couldn't be said now, so she might as well explain in detail so that this experienced old woman could make a more accurate judgment.

Upon hearing Bai Ye's words, Kal'tsit showed a rare expression of surprise. She sat up straight and listened intently to Bai Ye's story.

Clearly, Bai Ye's words were beyond her expectations.

Even she hadn't expected that the truth Bai Ye told her would be such a story.

Universe, space folding, another civilization...

Chapter Ninety-Seven: In the Hands of Civilization

(Congratulations! The King's Team has successfully ended. It started strong but ended weakly. This was the one that got me into the King's Team series. It's really great.)

-------------------------------------

"You probably said something similar to Theresa, about the whole picture of the world we live in."

"You should already know these things, so I won't go into detail... I'll tell you something more interesting."

Bai Ye took out a piece of white paper and poked two small holes in it with a pencil. He pointed to one of the holes and said:

"This is our world, Earth."

Then he pointed to another one:

"This is your world, Terra. On a vast and immeasurable scale of spacetime, our world is like two points—and barring any unforeseen circumstances, they will never intersect."

"But our world is in grave danger, a catastrophe is about to destroy our civilization, so we began to search for a way out, and by chance we observed you. We decided to come to you for refuge."

"Unfortunately, our hyperspace travel technology is not yet mature, and an accident even occurred during the testing of our first starship..."

At this point, Bai Ye clearly paused for a moment. His biological parents, whom he had never met, had turned into cosmic dust along with the starship during that test.

However, Kal'tsit clearly didn't notice this pause, or rather, compared to the other highly informative remarks, she had no time to pay attention to this insignificant detail. Micro-expressions and emotions can convey both small and complex amounts of information. Therefore, this method of communication is inefficient.

Bai Ye continued:

"Moreover, we do not have enough resources or time to build an ark large enough to carry our entire civilization. Therefore, a completely new plan began while we were building an ark to continue a part of our civilization."

Bai Ye then reached out and folded the paper on the table in half, making the two small holes overlap.

"Snapped."

Bai Ye clapped his hands together.

Then, he picked up the paper and looked at Kal'tsit through the overlapping holes.

"We call this project the Resonance Project, or World Integration. In some way, we will strengthen the connection between the two worlds and eventually merge them together, allowing our world to migrate entirely to your world."

As Bai Ye spoke, he put down the white paper in his hand, then stood up and looked at Kal'tsit, saying:

"And I am the first visitor to this world from that civilization."

“I see…” Dr. Kal’tsit said with a sudden realization, “I had some suspicions about your identity, but I hadn’t considered this aspect.”

"No wonder you always seemed so out of place from the start, and even now, you still seem out of place in some ways. Moreover, your ideas are somewhat similar to Theresa's, and perhaps some of them are already commonplace to you."

As she spoke, Kal'tsit looked at Bai Ye and asked:

When will you arrive here?

"We've arrived," Bai Ye said with a gentle smile. "It's just that they probably don't even know it yet."

Bai Ye spoke with a smile, revealing a truly terrifying truth. There was even a contradiction in her statement, yet Dr. Kal'tsit understood.

“Undead…is that so?” Although she was asking a question, her tone was very certain.

“Yes, actually, ‘undead’ is just a name. You’ve probably heard of it. They call themselves players, and that’s their current understanding of this world,” Bai Ye explained. “Except for me, everyone else came here as a projection, which is why they don’t die and can resurrect infinitely. Because for them, the entire Terra is a giant game world. Everything here is virtual.”

"However, in reality, it is precisely themselves who are virtual. This is the method we have come up with to reduce people's panic."

"Phew..." Kal'tsit suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.

She looked somewhat relieved, and her expression was no longer as tense as before.

"What's wrong?" Bai Ye asked curiously.

Dr. Kal'tsit explained:

"If everyone in your world is like this, then I'll be at ease."

She paused, then explained:

"Even if you believe you are merely in a virtual game, most of your world still maintains extremely high moral standards, is able to exercise self-discipline spontaneously, and most people are even helpful. Your world is truly an incredible existence. You must possess a higher level of civilization."

“If you harbor hostility and possess power greater than ours, it will be another disaster.” Clearly, this was Kal'tsit’s first thought.

Bai Ye smiled:

"I've been through what you're in now, and I almost destroyed myself with war. Fortunately, we decided to choose peace at the last moment, otherwise our civilization would probably have been destroyed, and we wouldn't have needed that so-called catastrophe to intervene."

Kal'tsit could hear a sense of pride in the young man's words.
