'Xiaoyu.'

"Yes, yes, my king." Tamamonomae's familiar voice came from the pendant on his chest.

'Is this the direction that the Konoe family has explored, to become a Buddha? 'Because it was the voice of the heart, Tamamonomae could naturally feel the anger of Genki that burned like a flame.

"That is indeed the case, my king." Tamamonomae replied quietly, without any trace of the playful smile in his words.

'Buddha is a synonym for an enlightened person. The most important condition for becoming a Buddha is enlightenment.'

'But not all souls are qualified to be enlightened.'

'Only the legendary "unwavering" souls can reach this point and realize that "all phenomena are not phenomena."'

"Please forgive Xiaoyu for being so vague, but these are the original words of the Buddha, and there is still no clear explanation to this day."

'If we follow the original meaning, to achieve Buddhahood, one must be a person of great wisdom.'

'But if the conditions are so harsh, this technology is too difficult to achieve.'

"Just when the Konoe family was at a loss as to what to do, the head of the family at that time was inspired by the words of an ancient sage, which was -"

'[Only the wisest and the most foolish remain unchanged].'

"Since [Supreme Wisdom] is so difficult to achieve, what if we do the opposite?"

"If we artificially transform everyone into a fool who doesn't even understand death, would that also be a form of [unwavering]?"

"Will such a [Fool] produce death energy after death?"

82. The Beginning of Destruction

The reason why death energy comes into being is because living things have a physiological fear of death.

This is an instinct engraved in the genes. Even infants and children who do not know what death is will struggle hard when their throats are strangled.

This struggle is their fight against death.

It is also their fear of death.

Yuanhui didn't know how that Sakya did it, but he seemed to have really attained Bodhi with his great wisdom and enlightenment, overcoming this nature written in his genes and becoming a being that was completely not afraid of death.

But even now, there is only one Sakyamuni.

After Sakyamuni, there should have been many monks with great wisdom and enlightenment in Buddhism, but they were still unable to replicate the miracles that had been replicated by that sage.

Precisely because the standards of great wisdom and great enlightenment are so vague and so out of reach, people who despair of this can only find another way based on the maxims he left behind during his lifetime.

Buddha said that everyone has the potential to become a Buddha, but in order to become a Buddha, one must be [enlightened].

Only in this way can one make one's soul [unwavering] and thus realize that [all appearances are not appearances].

If one wants to make the soul [unwavering], one must be a legendary wise man.

But this condition is too harsh.

So, what if we do the opposite?

As the saying goes, "Only the wisest and the stupidest are unchangeable." Since it is so difficult to be "wise," if we artificially transform people into "stupid," then can this chaotic and stubborn ignorance also be called "unchangeable"?

This is undoubtedly an idea with strange logic and can even be called stupid.

But for those who have been searching for Buddha without success, it may be a direction worth a try.

After all, even if the experiment failed, it would only be a loss of some "consumables". For them, these "consumables" were originally insignificant things.

"Humans are really gifted in torturing their own kind," Tamamonomae said in Genki's heart, "In some ways, even we monsters can't catch up."

Yuan Hui did not react to this sigh. He just asked quietly in his heart: "Has the Konoe family failed?"

Normally, the question here should be "Did the Konoe family succeed?", but Genki did not use such a phrase.

What kind of emotional tendency is contained in this, the shrewd Tamamonomae naturally knows it clearly.

pity……

"No," Tamamonomae said with a hint of reluctance, "They succeeded."

"Through a series of outrageous means, the Konoe family did master some key tricks."

'These artificially created fools will still produce death energy after death, but compared to normal people, both the concentration and content are greatly reduced.'

"Although it is still impossible to compare with the legendary [Buddha], it is enough to inspire the Konoe family."

'That's why they have spent hundreds of years working on this.'

'They call this technology "Artificial Buddha."

Artificial Buddha...

Yuan Hui slowly chewed on this word in his mind, and then sneered.

He slowly closed his eyes, as if waiting for something.

In this pitch-dark prison, a green light suddenly jumped up.

This green light was like a ghostly fire from the underworld, dancing lightly and flexibly in this place that was not much different from hell...

……

Yuanhui didn't wait too long.

Soon, it was time for the monks to patrol the 'meditation room'.

This is something they do every few hours.

In theory, the "meditation room" is cut out of the rock, and the iron cover is thick and heavy. The people imprisoned inside are ordinary people selected by the "Ruyue Train". They can't escape at all, so there is no need to patrol so diligently.

But there is actually a reason for this.

The environment in the 'meditation room' is comparable to that of a slave ship during the triangular trade. If there are no regular patrols, someone might die of an acute illness before the situation is 'dealt with'.

Although "materials" are everywhere, wasting them at will is a very bad behavior.

Moreover, people who die in such circumstances will produce an extremely strong aura of death.

If there are only one or two of them, it’s not a big deal. But if too many die and monsters are generated, then it will be a bit troublesome.

The Konoe family has soul binders stationed in this space, and there are quite a few of them.

But even for a soul binder, dealing with monsters is a very dangerous thing.

At that time, because the prison was too small, if someone really died in it, the monks would have to use hooks to hook them out, making the entire "meditation room" sticky.

This mountain wall is constructed according to the legendary "Ten Thousand Buddhas Paying Homage to the Buddha" wall, and these "meditation rooms" are actually "Buddha rooms".

It’s not good to make it too ugly.

So the purpose of this patrol is not to see whether these people can escape, but to see whether they are dead.

By the way, although the official term for this work is "patrol", in private, the monks have a very vivid name for this work, which is:

"Beat the dog gong".

You don't need to knock the dog gong, just shine the flashlight into the vent. The people inside are going crazy and are very sensitive to any stimulation from the outside world.

As long as there is a little light, it will rush over like a starving dog seeing delicious food.

Then it hit the iron lid, making a 'bang' sound.

Because the sound is very similar to "knocking a gong", it is called "knocking the dog gong".

On this day, after dinner, many monks came to the attic full of "people", holding a lamp in one hand and a flashlight in the other.

This attic has a total of 54 floors, representing the 54 stages of Bodhi practice.

There are 108 "meditation rooms" on each floor, representing the pursuit of the 108 samadhis and the cutting off of kinds of troubles.

In other words, the entire mountain wall can accommodate a total of 5832 "Buddhas".

These are the materials used by the Konoe family to research the [Artificial Buddha] technology.

Because of the strange replenishment of [Kiragi Train], even if a lot of energy is lost every day, it can be replenished quickly.

There is no danger in patrolling, so only one monk needs to be sent to each floor.

Yuichi Kurano is just an ordinary person among the patrollers tonight.

"Knocking the dog gong" is not only used to detect whether these "Buddhists" are sick or seeking suicide, it is also a sign they use to detect whether the first step of treatment has been completed.

If after the "bang" sound, curses like "bastard" are heard from inside.

This is what it means to be alive, but not yet locked up.

If after the "dong" sound, there are cries and begging for mercy.

This means it’s almost done, but still a little off.

If after the "dong" sound, someone inside makes a sound, but cannot speak clearly, just shouting "ah" or "woo".

Then he must remember the number of this "meditation room".

This means that the first step has been basically completed and the next step can be carried out.

However, the floor he was patrolling today was basically filled with "fresh goods" that had just arrived today.

They are basically in the first stage of being wild and untrained.

The chances of getting sick and committing suicide are also very low.

Therefore, Kurano Yuichi's demeanor can be said to be quite relaxed.

He didn't care about the scolding coming from the 'meditation room' at all.

Anyway, in a few days they will become fools who cannot even think.

Why bother with these idiots?

However, when he arrived in front of a 'meditation room' and skillfully shone the flashlight towards the ventilation hole, he did not hear a sound like 'gong' as expected.

Not only that, under the illumination of the flashlight, he even saw a line of blood-like traces slowly flowing out from the not-so-big vent.

Oh no, it’s only the first day and someone has already committed suicide?

Is the psychological endurance too poor?

Yuichi Kurano hurriedly put his face forward, trying to use the vent to check the situation of the people inside.

If there is still room for rescue, then rescue him. If there is no room for rescue, then quickly call someone to come and dig out the body.

However, just as he put his face close to the vent, the blood slowly flowing out of the vent was like a poisonous snake, and it suddenly made his body stand up.

Kurano Yuichi was shocked when he realized something was wrong, but it was too late.

The poisonous snake made of blood had bitten his neck, accurately tearing the surface skin, and then drilling into his carotid artery.

The young monk's body froze.

Now he has no way to control his body. Not only that, his mind has also been invaded by an extremely unfamiliar force.

His soul seemed to have turned into a thick book, being flipped through by a pair of rough hands.

At the same time, his mind was like a field that had just been ravaged by a tornado, being messed up...

The person who did this was naturally Yuan Hui.

It was mentioned before when fighting against Shuzuka Daimyojin that [Blood Field] is not only able to restrain monsters.

All living creatures are also prey of the [Blood Field].

For the [Blood Field], capturing living creatures is much easier.

After all, there are no three elements of trouble for humans.

As long as the filthy sinful blood of the [Blood Field] invades the body, the creature will immediately become Yuanhui's puppet.

Not only that, the soul in the opponent's body will also become the meal of the [Blood Field], and the information contained in it will also be completely swallowed up by the [Blood Field].

Kill people to refine their souls, and raise corpses to make puppets.

This is actually the most basic ability of [Blood Field].

From this perspective, the [Blood Field] is truly the [Sin] that Judas could possess, and it is a thousand times more evil than any evil demon.

Yuanhui had never used this ability before.

It's not that he is soft-hearted, but there has never been anyone in front of him who is evil enough for him to not hesitate to use this ability.
