I, V, Gotham Legend

Rhino smiled ferociously. He had wanted to beat this old man for a long time, but just before his fist fell, a black shadow suddenly flew out from the corner and hit him on the head.
Rhino staggered, and the blunt force weapon hitting his temple made him dizzy and the old man in his hand fell to the ground.
"Who is it?!" The ventriloquist who had fallen to the ground got up. The puppet Scarface on his hand shook his head, looking very angry.
A projectile the size of a glass ball fell from the ceiling. The ball broke and emitted a large amount of smoke as if it had exploded.
Smoke and dust instantly filled the room, and the gangsters were caught off guard and choked. There was a sound of something being broken, followed by the sound of fists hitting faces, the sound of bones being twisted, and the screams of pain from the beaten people.
When the smoke cleared, the room that was once filled with gangsters was left with only the Ventriloquist and the Rhino, and a black bat-like man standing among the unconscious thugs.
"Oh...Batman." Scarface's strange voice sounded like a sneer, "You didn't go to arrest your fellow human traffickers?"
"You think you have everything under control, but these little tricks can't fool me." Unlike the others, Batman stared at the puppet while speaking.
When he first received the documents sent by Valerie, he did feel betrayed, but after a brief investigation, he found that the documents were full of loopholes.
There is only one photo of Harvey and the little girl, and when it is placed together with the little girl's body and the bribe documents, it will indeed lead people to believe that Harvey has a relationship with human traffickers, especially since the photo was taken in front of the warehouse area.
But that warehouse area is now Scarface's territory, and Batman has not found any clues pointing to it as the base of human traffickers when he investigated in the past.
There were also photos of the little girl's body. The disembowelment was not just for organ removal, but the chilling death was more like a work of art. This cruel method reminded him of another disgusting killer he had recently investigated.
"After you occupied the warehouse area, you investigated the surveillance and happened to see the video of Harvey bringing two girls back to the warehouse. In order to frame Harvey Dent, you sent someone to kidnap one of the girls and brutally killed her."
Batman stared at the puppet and coldly stated the truth he had deduced.
NO12. Minimap
The room was silent, not only because of the truth Batman had revealed, but more importantly because there were few people left standing.
Rhino didn't show much expression, but Arnold's eyes were trembling. He thought about advising Scarface not to be so cruel, but the boss wouldn't listen to him.
"You're really humorous." Scarface moved his joints clackingly, as if he was joking.
Without any warning, Scarface's wooden arm suddenly raised his Thompson submachine gun and fired at Batman.
Although the costume is bullet-resistant, Batman doesn't need to take the bullet head-on. He does a backflip, jumps behind a table, and kicks the table over, leaving the top facing Scarface.
The submachine gun bullets hit the metal table and bounced off as expected.
"Rhino, go and pull him out!" Scar ordered the only subordinate who was still standing.
Rhino woke up from his dizzy state. When he heard the boss's order, he immediately nodded and rushed towards the table.
But when he ran behind the table, he found that there was no one there and Batman had disappeared into thin air.
"What? Where's the person?" The rhino looked around but didn't see any pointed ears.
He wanted to turn around and ask for help from his boss who was always smarter, but he found a black figure standing behind Arnold.
"Boss! Behind him!" Rhino tried to warn, but Batman had already strangled the ventriloquist's neck.
He did not knock Arnold out violently like he did with the others. Instead, he twisted Arnold's head aside, then reached out his big hand and grabbed the puppet Scarface's head.
"No!!!" Realizing that Batman was going to take Scarface away, Arnold, who had always been timid, suddenly burst out with extraordinary strength, but it was still far from comparable to Batman.
He snatched Scarface away, pulled the submachine gun out of his hand, and then threw the puppet to the ground as if it were an enemy.
"Boss!" Rhino roared and rushed over. Batman held Arnold's shoulders, threw the old man aside, and faced Rhino's charge head-on.
Before the rhino rushed to him, the cloak made of special metal had already hit his face, which made the rhino, who had just woken up, dizzy again.
Then, a storm of iron fists hit his face.
...
The gray hovercraft flew across the night sky of Gotham, leaving a trail of exhaust between the tall buildings.
Valerie built herself three identical cars, but with different paint colors.
She sat in the driver's seat of the sports car, admiring the night view through the screen window. Harvey sat next to her, flipping through photos.
The girl in the photo had her stomach ripped open and her hands on her chest. If it weren't for her empty abdominal cavity, she would have looked like she was still alive.
"You said your friend recognized the killer through such a photo?" Harvey asked with a frown.
"He's also your friend... Why does it feel a bit weird to say that?" Valerie glanced at the photo out of the corner of her eye, then stretched out her hand and pointed to a corner of the photo.
"Here's a coil of fishing line."
"Fishing line..." Harvey reacted. It was not because of his excellent memory, but because a recent case was too famous among the police.
The murderer is a pervert who enjoys killing, sometimes for hire, but more often for pleasure.
After brutally killing the victims, they would use fishing line to sew them together to look like they were still alive, making them look like disgusting works of art.
The murderer did not leave his name, but the police found that there had been criminals in history who used this method of crime, including Victor Szasz, a notorious perverted killer who had been famous for ten years, known as "Mr. Szasz".
"If it's the most recent killer, the police think it's a copycat of Victor Sass. Because that guy hasn't appeared for six or seven years, we all thought he was dead." Harvey put down the information and shared the information with Valerie.
"Our friends think it's Sass himself... and don't call him Victor, it's a bit distracting." When Valerie heard the name Victor, she thought more of Mr. Freeze or Old Victor in the game.
"Maybe you have a friend with the same name. I can understand that. It's a common name in the United States." Harvey nodded in agreement. "But... Sass himself? Why would Batman think so?"
"That guy is always inexplicably smart and doesn't like to explain. He doesn't have any sense of being a detective at all." Valerie seemed to have a lot of resentment.
"Then where do we find this... Sasse?" Harvey still didn't quite believe it, but after working with Batman for so long, he still knew how to cooperate.
Valerie pressed a few buttons on the car speaker display, and a flat map appeared on it, which looked like a digital bird's-eye view of Gotham.
There is a yellow dotted line on the map, connecting one corner of the city, and at the end is a yellow circle with a black exclamation mark inside.
The mini-map is also a feature derived from the game, but the target points can only be marked by oneself, and Valerie can only see the map of the areas she has been to. Fortunately, she has almost visited all the areas in Gotham in these five months.
Originally, Valerie could only see the small map through her own field of vision, but when she was making this floating car, she had been thinking about whether there was a way to project the map onto the car's screen.
This was the most successful time for her to develop her abilities, and now the screen of the hovercraft was showing the fruits of her wisdom.
Valerie screen-shared over a dedicated internet connection, and the success of this experiment meant she could do more.
For example, in the future, we may not need to operate the car through the steering wheel as we do now, but can operate it remotely with just an Internet connection.
Even the robot factory copied from the Riddler can be put on the agenda, and she can operate an army of robots with just a thought.
Unfortunately, network-related hacking skills are still Valerie's shortcoming, and she needs to find a way to improve her intelligence as soon as possible.
"Is this where Sass is? Did you find it?" Harvey asked when he saw the marking on the map.
"Our friend gave it to me." Valerie seemed a little dissatisfied. "In the short time that I took you to the warehouse area to investigate, he has already figured out the case thoroughly."
"He is indeed an excellent detective." Harvey nodded in approval.
"The situation now is that we split up, we go find Sass, and Batman goes to arrest Scarface himself." Valerie summarized.
Having said that, Valerie still had some doubts in her heart. Why did Batman go alone to the place where there were the most enemies, and leave the more important perverted murderer to her?
The brutal death of the girl being disemboweled flashed back in her mind, causing her to have some slightly dark suspicions.
Maybe Batman himself wanted to kill the lunatic, but just didn't want to do it himself.
But based on Valerie's understanding of Batman, in his eyes, killing someone with someone else's knife is no different from doing it himself, and he obviously wouldn't do such a double-standard thing.
Is there any other reason why I must face SARS?
No. 13. Mr. Sass
Mr. Sass's good day always starts at night. During this time, the citizens of Gotham return home or happily work overtime in the company. There are few people on the streets, which is a good time to pry open doors to look for targets.
But his hunt for the day was already completed, or rather, someone had fed the beast with pieces of meat.
Sass cleaned the blood-stained scissors and looked back at the dog cage behind him.
The dog cage seemed to be welded and had no base. A pile of huge sandbags were pressed on the rectangular top of the cage, probably to prevent the creatures inside from opening the cage and escaping.
A young girl was sitting there with her knees hugged, her face pale. She was wearing a white dress and there was no expression on her face. She was just shedding tears unconsciously.
There was a table between Sass and the cage. A girl who looked similar to the girl in the cage was sitting on a chair. She rolled her eyes but raised her hands as if she wanted to pick up something.
She had fishing line wrapped around her hands, tied to a bamboo pole behind her, and her dress was neat and dry.
She was already dead, and now the girl curled up in the cage watched the pervert dissect her sister with her own eyes.
Sass had previously removed the girl's internal organs as requested by the employer and disguised himself as a human trafficker.
But he didn't like it. Sass always believed that human corpses should be more attractive. Even if they lost their souls and breath, they would still be the same as before.
Quiet as a painting, yet still vivid, this is perfect art.
After taking the photos as requested by his employer, Sass couldn't wait to sew the body back together and arranged her in the postures she would normally have on the table according to his imagination.
He looked at the little girl's body in fascination. He couldn't help himself for a moment and put the freshly washed scissors against his forearm. The sharp blade immediately left a bloody mark.
Sass enjoyed the resonance with the souls of the dead. Every time he killed a person, he would leave a scar on his body with a knife.
Before killing the girl, he cut a hole in his trapezius muscle, but the exquisiteness of the artwork and the anticipation of killing the next girl made him so excited that he couldn't help but cut one more hole.
Blood flowed down his arm, and Sass licked his own blood with enjoyment.
"Perhaps I am what people often call... a gifted person." Sass looked at the still-living girl and smiled grimly. "I have never known fear since I was a child."
"I always make mistakes and mess up the farm in my hometown. Haha, to be honest, I don't even remember what I did. Maybe I hid my classmate's body in the attic?" Sasse approached the dog cage. He seemed to be talking about something very ordinary.
"People always want to stay away from me because I am a monster who knows no fear or awe." Sass approached the girl's face in the cage and smiled gently: "But now, I understand the emotion of fear better than anyone else. Look, you are very scared now."
Sansa's heart was dead, and she couldn't even whimper.
This was not the first time she was kidnapped, but this time was the closest she had ever been to death.
"Do you think you have nothing to be afraid of?" Sass smiled gently and took out the key from his pocket. "Don't worry, I have seen many people like you who feel that their hearts are dead. But when they are sent to the operating table, they all scream at the same decibel."
Sansa watched Sass open the cage door. Even though she had been prepared to accept her fate, she still instinctively crawled backwards in the cage.
Sass gave a predictable smile, then reached out and grabbed Sansa's arm, trying to pull her out.
Sansa struggled and punched and kicked him, even biting his still bleeding forearm.
Sass was laughing, as if he didn't feel any pain. He grabbed the girl's shoulders and tried to lift her out.
While Sass's hunting was still going on, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
He did not straighten up immediately, but looked towards the door with a serious look.
Ten years ago, Sass was hunted for killing the leader of a gang. However, as a skilled killer, he managed to escape and even killed many of his pursuers.
Until six years ago, he failed in an assassination attempt. Although he succeeded in killing everyone present, he still broke both his legs.
Fortunately, he once saved the life of the newly-started Penguin. Although Mr. Sass was a famous perverted killer, the Penguin did not care about it. He protected Sass in an old house in the suburbs.
But even though the Penguin protected him out of favor, there was no need to satisfy his perverted hobby. Even if Sass's martial arts were superb, the Penguin had no shortage of such people under his command.
After Sass recovered from his injuries, he placed the murderer under house arrest here.
It wasn't until the Penguin's downfall two months ago that he finally regained his freedom. But as he was outnumbered, he didn't go hunting immediately. Even if he couldn't help but catch the prey, he only dared to do it in this house.
There were already several rotting corpses piled up in the basement.
It was not until half a month ago that the ventriloquist, who was busy collecting the Penguin's legacy, finally found him and hired this once famous killer in exchange for providing him with shelter.
Sass can finally enjoy showing his art in Gotham again, and even though Scar is unhappy about the trouble he's causing him, helping Sass deal with the cops is the reward he deserves.
In other words, now, no outsiders should pass by this old house where Sass has lived for six years, especially when Scarface has just delivered the prey to him personally.
Sass did not act rashly. He first let the girl go, and then used the scissors in his hand to cut the rope that tied the sandbag to the cage.
Then he also got into the cage and stared at the entrance with eagle-like vigilant eyes.
Sass's alertness was correct. The door in front of him suddenly exploded, and smoke and door panels flew into the room.
Sass was already prepared. He raised his hand and pressed the bottom of the sandbag through the gap in the cage.
The handsome blond man had already rushed into the room through the smoke. He was holding a pistol and shot in the direction of Sass without hesitation.
However, the sandbags had been pushed down from the top of the cage, and a large pile of sandbags was like a small hill blocking the cage and the gate. In addition to some bullets being deflected, most of them were embedded in the sandbags.
"Are you a policeman?" Sass hid in a cage behind sandbags and shouted towards the door. He didn't feel any fear at all about almost being shot.
"You lost the bet." Harvey seemed to be saying something through the communication, "Like I said, those sandbags are used as shelters."
