I, V, Gotham Legend
Page 35
Malone had no problem with Valerie's plan.
After going out, the blue-haired beauty summoned Johnny's Porsche and ran to the location of the stronghold as stated in the letter that Shiva left for her.
……
The smugglers hired by the Assassin's League had their base located in the basement of Gotham Hospital in the New City area. According to the clues left by Siva, even she didn't know how many people there were in the smuggling gang. They only found two bodies.
Valerie took the elevator to the second underground floor. She should go one floor lower, but Shiva did not give her a way to get to the base.
But V Zhentian is not just a name for nothing. She walked underground and tapped the floor with her feet. When she felt that the sound had a different "hollow" feeling, she immediately threw a bomb at the floor.
"bomm!"
The explosion of high explosives successfully blew up the floor, and an empty basement came into Valerie's sight, and she jumped down immediately.
The loud noise of the explosion also attracted the security guard, but when he arrived, the ground was intact, just like new.
The sound I just heard couldn't be an auditory hallucination, but the empty scene couldn't be faked either. The weird scene made the security guard scream and run out of the basement.
From then on, Gotham had a new urban legend.
……
After fixing the floor above her head, Valerie officially began her investigation in the basement.
This basement is more like a naturally formed cave, with no man-made walls and protruding rocks all around.
Even in winter, the indoor climate was still very humid, and Valerie could still smell the stench of corpses, but there were no corpses in the cave. They must have been taken away by the Assassin's League.
Combined with what was in the letter, by the time the Assassin's League found this place, those responsible for the smuggling had been dead for who knows how long.
Valerie doesn't plan to be a detective, as long as she finds the whereabouts of the dirty bomb, she will be considered a success.
Dirty bombs are meant to be smuggled, and a whole missile would be too conspicuous. It should have been disassembled into different parts, packaged separately, and then mailed out of the port.
She turned on the scanner and carefully examined the scene.
Although the bodies had been taken away, the dried blood had not been cleaned up. It seemed that the people from the Assassin's League were not interested in taking care of the hygiene here.
If Valerie had access to the national database, she could have directly done a DNA test to find out whose blood it was, but unfortunately she didn't.
There were bullet holes in the wall, but luckily this thing could scan them.
Valerie still couldn't figure out what the scannable objects had in common. At present, apart from living things, only electronic devices could scan them, and she didn't know why this bullet hole was a scannable object.
The scan produced results very quickly, probably the result of a 9MM caliber submachine gun.
Valerie doesn't know much about the types and calibers of guns. She can easily make weapons that are far beyond the average level in this world, but she has a lot of experience in shooting.
Through the dense arrangement of bullet holes on the wall, Valerie reconstructed the trajectory of the ballistic missile.
Walking to the direction where the bullet came from, there was only a rock wall.
Fortunately, Valerie kept the scanner on, flashing the progress bar on the wall.
This should be a secret door.
The scan results confirmed her idea that this was a gate from top to bottom.
Valerie walked to the secret door and opened a rock protrusion.
There is a code disk inside, which should be used to open this secret door.
There didn't seem to be a data cable interface, so it was difficult for Valerie to use her hacking abilities on it.
Fortunately, Valerie has a simpler and more brutal solution.
She came to the middle of the secret door in the rock wall, squatted down, and supported herself with both hands on the bottom of the rock.
Then he tensed his calves, exerted force with his arms, and lifted up the rock like a rock - or a rock door panel.
The rock was not as heavy as expected, not even as heavy as the force needed to hold Bane down. The secret door was quickly lifted.
Behind the door was a tiled staircase that looked slippery.
Apparently this is the normal entrance to this secret room.
Valerie lowered the gate and walked to the stairs.
"Boom!"
Watching the door behind her fall freely, Valerie couldn't help but hold her chin.
There were no signs that the door had been damaged, but the person who fired the shot should have been standing outside the door, otherwise the bullets would have been distributed more widely in the secret room.
There were no bullet holes outside the door, indicating that the people inside did not resist. This type of lifting door opens very quickly. If it was an attack by an invader, the people inside should have had enough time to react.
The crime was committed by an acquaintance, and there is a high possibility that there is a mole among the smugglers.
Valerie tentatively concluded.
She walked up the stairs, but didn't find any new clues along the way.
At the end of the stairs was a trapdoor disguised as a floor. After pushing open the door, Valerie noticed that she had arrived at the morgue.
Time flies! It has been six years since I last wrote a book.
I remember that I was a naive single dog at the beginning, but now I am a seasoned single dog.
During the past few days of writing this book, many readers have posted many comments. In fact, I have read them all. This time I will take this opportunity to give an overall answer.
1. The first is the issue of the love line.
The author of this book is single, and falling in love will only hinder Miss V from drawing her gun. It’s not that the love line is bad, but the author is very confident in the level of his own love line, so he must not be able to write it well.
Readers have expressed concerns about the protagonist's interactions with Batman, but there is no need to worry, because falling in love can also affect the speed at which the old man punches.
The highest level of relationship between the protagonist and the master is that of comrades who trust each other.
However, in future stories, there will be many characters who like or even pursue the protagonist, both male and female, but they will not marry or have affairs with him.
Falling in love will only hinder Miss V's speed in drawing her gun! (emphasis added)
Of course, I won’t care if readers spontaneously pair up with each other, as long as everyone is happy.
2. The issue of the protagonist’s strength.
There is an interesting phenomenon that some readers think that the protagonist is too weak, and the upper limit is fixed, and the future is very pessimistic.
Another group of readers think that the protagonist is strong enough and should not eat beef now.
I temporarily believe that this difference in thinking is due to the different tendencies of readers.
Some readers come to see 2077, some readers come for DC, and of course many readers have dabbled in both, but they will have different preferences based on their different understanding of the two works.
For example, some readers believe that the maximum intelligence of 2077 is far inferior to that of any computer with alien technology, but another part of readers believe that if the protagonist has an intelligence of , he can punch Cyborg and kick Oracle and become the card player of the online world.
Ultimately, these are two unintersecting worldviews, and it is normal for everyone to have their own opinions.
But since I wrote this book, how to integrate the two worldviews in this book can only be decided by me, the author.
If I wanted, I could have the main character hold the Earth and smash the goddess of creation on the head (of course, I wouldn't actually write that).
Since I chose 2077 as the protagonist's ability, I will definitely not make the protagonist's basic setting too weak. Of course, I will also take the readers' ideas into consideration.
Just because the main character's attributes are not at the maximum level doesn't mean they won't be upgraded in the future. The most important character panel settings in the game haven't appeared yet.
Also, since it has come to DC, it naturally won’t only have the capabilities of 2077.
All in all, the protagonist will continue to become stronger in various aspects, which is why I didn't give the protagonist full levels in all aspects like Feng Ling Yue Ying did at the beginning.
Also, the protagonist’s current inability to transform his prosthetic body has nothing to do with intelligence, but is due to the will of the universe. Intelligence only affects hacker ability.
3. Some plot issues.
I feel like I simplified the original plot as much as possible in the first volume, and almost all the content before Batman met V was glossed over.
The overall setting of this book is the Arkham Universe, and I may weave in some animation or comic content later (for example, I really want to write "Batman vs. Ninja Turtles")
As mentioned before, the protagonist will not have too many plots leaving Gotham (in other words, there will be some but not much)
(In fact, when it comes down to it, I didn't plan to write about many big DC events. Every time I see comments saying that the protagonist is a piece of crap compared to some big event or some big person, my blood pressure soars.
To be honest, this kind of comments is really frustrating, because I don't plan to write these things at all, but these readers seem to be looking forward to the relevant plot, which makes me feel very stressed.)
I prepared a relatively complete outline before writing this book, so readers don’t have to worry about it being postponed. Even if there is a 0.0001% chance that it will be postponed, I can still use the outline to escape.
Having said that, I will also modify the outline according to the situation, and there may be major changes. For example, I originally planned that Zhenglian would just be a background board, but many readers seem to be looking forward to the related plot.
I like DC very much, but I dare not say that I understand DC. I also hope that you guys can tell me gently when you see ooc content. The author is very kind (crying)
(The following is a bold statement) Personally, I think the reason why DC attracts me is not how mature or profound it is, but the light hidden under the darkness. No matter how dark the content is at the beginning or how depressing the direction is, the core of its story must be positive (not all of them, just the part I like).
The master in the Court of Owls was tortured to the point of physical and mental collapse, but he still relied on his perseverance and wisdom to break out of the maze.
In Year Zero, when the Riddler controlled the entire city, there was still a group of ordinary people who stood up to challenge the Riddler without fear of death.
The reason why Gotham is always plagued by crimes is that the editors in reality are reluctant to give up this cash cow.
But this novel will have an ending.
Valerie will gradually move towards the light in the end, Gotham will become harmonious, and the ending will definitely be good.
In the original work, Matchstick Malone is the vest that Batman uses to gather information, but in this book he is designed as an independent character that takes great care of the protagonist, and in fact, he also implies the meaning of being the protagonist's guide.
This book will also have a lot of secondary settings, such as the origin of the Clayface, which is almost original. Of course, part of the reason for the large number of secondary settings in this book is to make it understandable to readers who have not been exposed to DC or 2077.
4.Some other things
Some people may wonder, if there is no plan for a love line, then why add a transformation setting.
It’s actually very simple. First of all, it’s the author’s personal hobby.
Secondly, the author uses a female V when playing the game, which makes it more immersive (but my V has pink hair.)
Then, the author himself has written books on other platforms, I won’t mention which platforms, but even though it was six years ago, it still made me instinctively add a transformation setting when I was writing the book.
Finally, it is because of the author’s personal hobby (emphasis)
Many readers have asked me what my V looks like, but some have also suggested that I should not describe the protagonist's appearance in too much detail so that readers can better empathize with the V they have created.
I think the latter makes sense, so apart from describing it in detail at the beginning, my description of the protagonist's appearance was limited to his blue hair and good looks.
Finally, I heard that the Order of the Balance of Hedgehog Cat is very powerful. Can you let me see it on the label of this book?
Also, after the chapters are put on the shelves tomorrow, there will be ten chapters updated. Can you please give me a first order? It will be of great help to the author.

After much thought, I decided to create a group, group number: 609266367, password: Mantis Knife
7. Smuggling gangs
After leaving the morgue, Valerie found an empty office in the hospital and requisitioned their computer to retrieve the surveillance video at the entrance of the morgue and the surrounding area.
It is impossible to determine the exact time when the incident occurred, but if someone entered the morgue with a gun, it would have been very conspicuous.
The smugglers may not only smuggle weapons, but may also smuggle other things. This stronghold should have been a long-term stronghold.
These guys bribed doctors to transport contraband along with the bodies - they might even be the doctors themselves.
In fact, after the target person was identified as a doctor, the search target had become much smaller, but since it was determined that the murderer had a close relationship with the deceased, Valerie needed more information about the deceased.
She hesitated for a long time, and finally took a deep breath and dialed Shiva's number.
The call was connected very quickly. It was hard to imagine that an ancient and powerful organization like the Assassin's League would actually use the phone to communicate.
"Ms. V, is there any result?" The call was dialed quickly. There was the sound of a trickle of water, and Shiva seemed to be by the water.
"It was a doctor in this hospital who did it. It should be an internal conflict among the smuggling gang. Tell me more information about the deceased." Valerie briefly stated her inferences and demands.
"We have already cremated the body. We cannot leave too many clues about the alliance."
Valerie resisted the urge to curse: "Then you must know who these dead people are, right?"
"That's no problem." Shiva said two names.
