Chapter 470: Closing Remarks

As the longest book I have ever written, Taoist Companion has finally come to an end at this moment.

I had not originally planned to write so much. At first, I had planned to write 140 chapters for the fourth volume, with the word count controlled at around 1.3 million. However, I did not expect that there were too many threads in the upper realm chapter, and 140 chapters could not be completed. Even the 165 chapters lacked a lot of space for Feng Xiyu.

But there is not much description about Feng Xiyu, which is acceptable. Whether she loves Jiang Li or not is Jiang Li's story later. No matter who it is, there is no regret at all, which is not bad.

I am quite satisfied with the overall plot of the upper realm. I like Ren Shutong and Su Yeli very much. I feel they are quite interesting. All the plots that should be written have been written. As for Ling Wei... Actually, there is not much space for Ling Wei's story herself. All the clues of her story have been revealed in the previous one million words. The remaining characters are Yue Xianzi and Jun Wenning. I quite like them, but they are indeed much less written about than Su Yeli and Ren Shutong.

After all, there are still too many female characters.

Before I started writing the book, I really didn't want to write so much. My original purpose was just to write a cheerful and light-hearted ancient-style novel. I am quite satisfied with the overall plot of Taoist Couple, but it was a bit weak in the later period. In fact, there was an inexplicable sense of separation. When reading the first 800,000 words of this book, I was still thinking about the "truth of love", always trying to find an answer that would satisfy me from the collision of stories, but after 800,000 words, I started to let it go.

The answer is not that important. Whether love is eternal and pure is not that important. Whether you can love others or whether you should be loved is not important. Only those who are entangled in these issues will never move forward.

In the middle and late stages of Taoist Companion, I was still heavily dependent on writing Anchor Boy at the same time. The male protagonist of that book is completely opposite to Jiang Xiaoli, so it was quite painful to write these two books together. Later, Anchor Boy ended, and naturally I knew how to write Taoist Companion.

Relieved.

Every book I wrote in the past tried to find the truth about love, a fixed answer, an eternal and unchanging truth, like a child constantly calling out in the darkness, asking someone to love me.

Let’s talk about books.

The story ends just right. As for Feng Xiyu's story, I don't think many people would be interested in it. As for Dark Moon, I will sort out and write a sequel to Dark Moon later. It will be free. Apart from this, I shouldn’t have missed any other plots. When the new book is stable, I will probably write about the weddings of some characters, or their daily lives. It’s quite interesting to write about these daily lives.

Actually, I don’t particularly like the theme of ancient style. I even think that I am not good at it at all. It is completely accidental that I have written so many books of ancient style. A few years ago, I accidentally wrote a book called "Saving My Fallen Master", and then it suddenly became popular... After it became popular, I continued to write about campus life, writing about why you are always thinking about dating me. I thought that book was so interesting. After finishing that book, I started to think about what to write. Then I wrote Almost Became a Hero, which is a story about a chuunibyou. I have always been a bit of a chuunibyou, so I did very well in the hero genre. When I reached 600,000 words, I felt secretly happy that I had finished it, so I ended it.

Then I wrote about the Sword Immortal Senior Brother, who became very popular. In this book, Yu Yu Dian, Gu Xiaoyuan is a Yu Yu boy, and he wrote about Luo Yesheng, whom I particularly like. Among the senior brothers, my favorite is Luo Yesheng, and among the junior brothers, I personally like Hua Yaowu the most.

Then there’s Devil Lady, Devil Lady… It’s considered the most Yuyu book, I guess, but I love Luo Liyue a lot.

It’s not that it was painful to write, but when I was writing Devil Miss, I always felt that I was so miserable, and every day was so miserable. In fact, the performance of Miss Devil is not bad. When it was 500,000 words, the performance was better than that of Taoist Companion which has now reached 1.5 million words. But Miss Devil feels that it is about the same. Yu Yu has enough, so it’s over.

Then there's Dao Lu. Dao Lu's collection data looks quite high, but actually the average subscription is quite low, about eight to one. Miss Devil is five to one, and Almost a Hero is three to one. But Dao Lu had dug a lot of holes before and had to fill them one by one. In fact, I really think... Dao Lu is well written.

The main theme of this book is to be light-hearted and joyful. The core concept of this book is that there is nothing that cannot be solved by women. If there is, just find a few more women. The plot is cheerful and the structure is quite compact, with one thing linked closely to another. It's a pity that... the performance is just average. It can only be said that the beginning is not handled very well.

A story of 1.5 million words suddenly ended, and I felt a little inexplicably melancholy.
