With a cold snort in his heart, John activated the brain-occlusion technique to isolate the peeping man.

It is the power to capture minds and thoughts.

Dumbledore actually used Legilimency on himself.

A chill ran down his spine, and he looked at Dumbledore and asked, "Professor Dumbledore, do you have any more questions?"

Dumbledore looked at John deeply, and Moody said gruffly, "The wand was found in a room on the right corridor of the fourth floor. That room is really luxurious."

There was accusation in his words, and he growled, "The last spell cast on this wand was a Confusion Charm. It is in that hidden room. Perhaps some clever little wizard thought that no one could find it."

He walked quickly to John and shouted, "He is so stupid that he has no idea that I can see through his secrets!"

"Are you doubting me?"

John's expression turned cold. He didn't expect that Moody had discovered the secret room of the Star Society and even went in.

Moody's tone made him uncomfortable; it was the tone of interrogating a prisoner.

Just as Moody was about to go further, Dumbledore stopped him.

"Professor Moody, please calm down." Dumbledore stopped Moody. There was a complexity in his eyes that others could not understand. "John, can you tell us where you were last night?"

John knew he was in trouble, and said calmly, "Of course, you know I always listen to you."

He turned to look at Moody, and said coldly, "I was in the secret room of the Star Society yesterday, but I can tell you for sure that I don't know where this wand came from."

"John Wick, maybe you don't even bother to tell a bad lie." Moody stared at John with his magic eyes, "but this only confirms your suspicion."

"Excuse me," Snape said, still in a sarcastic tone, "John Wick is a man who thinks highly of himself. He would not... cheat on such matters."

The last two words seemed to be spoken to one person in particular.

Moody turned around and said in a muffled voice: "Yes, Severus, you may have forgotten that some wizards like to pretend to be arrogant, but that is not evidence, is it?"

Snape frowned at him, and Moody refused to be outdone.

John looked up at Dumbledore. The old man was the one who made the decision.

Dumbledore stood up from behind the table. He asked calmly, "John, give me an answer."

"It's not me, Professor Dumbledore." John shook his head to deny it. He would not take the blame.

Dumbledore seemed to be relieved and said, "I believe John. He won't do that, let alone hurt his friends."

Moody wanted to say something, but Dumbledore spoke louder, "Alastor, I think we should give students enough trust."

His lips moved, and Moody could only look at John viciously.

John stared back fearlessly.

The misunderstanding was resolved.

Dumbledore did not ask why John built a secret chamber in the school, nor did he dig deep and ask, "John Wick is the only one in the school who can make wands."

He just felt that there was still room for redemption for this outstanding Slytherin student.

John turned and walked away, the distance between him and Dumbledore growing farther and farther until he disappeared behind the door.

Professor McGonagall didn't say a word the whole time. Her bloodless lips were tightly pursed. Only after she heard that John was fine did her pale face look a little better.

"I'm out, Dumbledore." Moody left.

Snape did not leave. He said to Dumbledore who was lost in thought: "This matter is a little too targeted."

He didn't say who, but Dumbledore knew.

"Alastor may be a little prejudiced, you know, the people he faced over the years." Dumbledore said.

Snape said dimly, "What about John Wick?"

"Are you really not afraid?" Snape said to himself, "His room has become a holy place for those followers."

Moody mentioned the search of Slytherin, which made Snape angry, but also made him realize something.

This made Dumbledore silent. Snape said in a sarcastic tone, "It's very similar, isn't it? It's like a law that every Dark Lord is surrounded by a group of people..."

"Severus." Dumbledore interrupted him, a rare look of fatigue on the old man's face.

Snape knew he couldn't go on and left the headmaster's office.

Helping John because he believed John would not do such a thing, and reminding Dumbledore, he was reminding him not to repeat the same mistake.

The anonymous wand was placed on the table.

Dumbledore watched, the image of John slicing the lake with his sword coming to his mind.

"Ancient magic, John. You are more eager to learn than I thought."

The silverware emitted a cloud of mist, blurring Dumbledore's figure.

In the drawer, the golden time converter lay quietly.

...

John walked out of the principal's office with a bad look on his face.

"Who is it?"

He looked solemn and hurried to the fourth floor.

He saw that the burglary-detecting charm on the door had been mixed up again, and he couldn't be sure whether it was Moody who did it, or the person who framed him.

Or...

Moody was the one who framed him.

John had doubted this possibility.

If so, why did he do it?

For Harry?

From the moment he arrived at the school, John could see Moody's hostility towards Slytherins.

Originally he just thought that it was because of the Aurors' dislike and targeting of Slytherin, but now it seems that there is more than just this reason.

Taking out the Marauder's Map, John saw Alastor Moody walking away on it.

Either Moody knew about the Marauder's Map and used a powerful Confounding Spell to change the map's name.

Or maybe he was Moody himself, targeting him for some reason.

Either way, Moody's is no longer trustworthy.

John's eyes were deep.

Day two.

Entering the secret room, John saw several worried faces.

"I'm fine," John met Daphne's worried gaze and said calmly, "This incident is directed at me. No matter who it is, we must be vigilant."

He said to everyone in a deep voice: "The Star Society has been exposed."

This was not good news, and several people fell silent.

Percy spoke up, "Something went wrong with the second project, and Mr. Crouch was implicated. He needs to go back and deal with the fallout from this incident."

John nodded, and Cedric was silent for a moment, then said, "John, there is some bad news."

He looked at John and said with difficulty: "There is talk in the Hufflepuff common room. Some students think you are... imitating You-Know-Who."

As soon as these words came out, Malfoy was the first to get angry: "Who said that!"

In fact, Cedric still said it was less, not part, but most of it.

Neville also raised his hand silently, pursed his lips, and said, "There are also rumors in the Gryffindor common room."

"What a bunch of fools." Daphne said coldly and unceremoniously.

Making Neville hang his head in shame.

John didn't expect the news to spread so quickly in just one night.

Some people said that Dumbledore would expel John, and some thought that John built the Chamber of Secrets in order to break into Hogwarts in the future and accomplish what the mysterious man had failed to accomplish.

"Rumors stop at the strong." John said calmly, "As time passes, they will realize their mistakes."

Furong felt sorry for John. After seeing the power of John's split lake, those students felt that it was possible for John to become the third Dark Lord.

John suddenly realized that perhaps this was what Moody wanted.

Let public opinion defeat you.

...

Chapter 227: Rumors and Gambling

Rumors are scary, but Moody was wrong about one thing.

He forgot that being strong comes with these things.

So when John learned about the rumors that were spreading, he did nothing to curb them.

It's human nature that he thinks what he knows is the truth.

Even if you argue with him, you can't change this.

Only when he finds the facts himself will he truly believe that all this is wrong.

But for Slytherin, there is nothing wrong with having one more Dark Lord.

Blaise Zabini once ran over to ask John if he really wanted to do this.

Seeing the fanaticism in his eyes, John just smiled.

This seems to prove something, but also seems to prove nothing.

Slytherin became more united, and their internal friction was no match for the external fighting.

Any student who dared to say something bad about John would be attacked by several Slytherins.

There were rumours in Gryffindor too.

"I knew there weren't many good people in Slytherin." When a Gryffindor student said this, his deskmate did not refute.

Even though Gryffindor has always despised Slytherin's discrimination against Muggles, they have actually been doing discriminatory things.

Harry had heard Ron say on the train in his first year that Slytherins were not good people.

During Voldemort's reign, most Slytherin students joined the Death Eaters.

So when this rumor spread, the Gryffindor students actually found it very credible.

Ron learned his lesson this time and said nothing.

When Hermione heard people talking about this, she couldn't help but shout, "John wouldn't be that kind of person!"

Ron was unhappy about this. Listening to Hermione calling him John all the time was like a thorn stuck in the sole of his foot, pricking him every time he took a step.

So he muttered, "Didn't John set up a mysterious Star Society? Maybe..."

He didn't finish his sentence because Hermione glared at him.

This look angered Ron even more, and he shouted angrily, "Did I say something wrong, John, John, John!"

He hated the name, especially coming out of Hermione's mouth.

That night, Hermione wore a blue dress, like Cinderella cast by the fairy godmother, and her image was deeply imprinted in his mind.

He didn't know what was wrong, but hearing Hermione talking about other men made him uncomfortable.

Harry was taken aback by his reaction and rushed to comfort Ron.

Hermione looked at Ron with gritted teeth and stood up to leave. Suddenly she pointed at Ron's nose and cursed, "You are such an ungrateful guy! John saved you and repaired your wand!"

After that, Hermione walked away quickly with the book in her arms.

Harry noticed a gleam of light in the corner of her eye.

He looked from Hermione to Ron, feeling torn.

Ron also sat angrily, muttering, "You keep talking about John all day long. I saved her life too!"
