"Hahaha, I understand what Gavia's duty is now."
Vishnu's loud laughter instantly dispelled the tense atmosphere that seemed ready to ignite at any moment. He patted Kavia and Shiva on the shoulders and said...
“I am the preserver, Brahma is the creator, and Shiva is the destroyer. It seems that, in terms of all things in the world, there is no role that can be found outside of the three of us. However, what about the three of us? Simply put—”
He said.
“Perhaps Gavia is the fourth one responsible for mediating the relationship between the three of us, to prevent our impulsiveness from causing the collapse of the universe. Just now, Shiva, you really had murderous intent, didn’t you?”
"Maybe, but I really don't know."
Gavia nodded and said.
However, to his surprise, Brahma and Shiva, who were clearly mortal enemies, exchanged a glance. Shiva silently nodded, while Brahma said:
"It is indeed possible."
To be honest, Novia never expected to appear at the very spot where the Triads had just met. His hair had grown so much longer, and he was even mistaken for the fourth Triad. He could only say he was lucky. Moreover, he genuinely didn't know the responsibility Shiva had asked him about. As for why Novia called himself Gavial, it was just something he said subconsciously. In short, he would just have to take it one step at a time for now.
After all, although he was not an infant but an adult, he might be in the age of gods at this moment, or perhaps he was in the 'circle' of the planet. In any case, the only power he had now was the power that belonged to India that he had just obtained... But Novia really couldn't think of what he should do in India.
However, compared to Brahma with four arms and four heads, Shiva with three eyes and four arms, and Vishnu with two eyes and four arms, Kavia, with only one pair of eyes and one pair of hands, seems somewhat out of place among the gods, and like Brahma, he does not carry any weapons.
It is important to know that in Indian culture, multiple arms are generally a symbol of great power.
Take Brahma as an example. He always has four items in his hands: first, the scriptures, which are the embodiment of the worldly rules of the Vedas; second, the rosary, which is a tool for calculating cosmic time; third, the water jar, which represents the basic element of the world, water, and was later used to hold the Ganges goddess herself, the water of the Ganges; and fourth, the lotus, which symbolizes the existence of everything in nature and the universe.
As for Novia, he truly had nothing in his hands; he didn't even have anything symbolic.
However, as the fourth god outside the three gods, it's hard to imagine why he would need to take action.
"Everyone."
As the Triads were about to depart to fulfill their respective duties, Gavia spoke.
"I hope the world can continue peacefully."
The voice was very calm, yet for some reason it left a deep impression on the three gods.
Thus, the oldest Indian pantheon was initiated by four self-generated beings.
The so-called self-generated one refers to a deity who is born of himself, not created by any other living being, but appears or is born naturally. In the eyes of all things in the world afterward, the four phases of the Hindu gods all appear at the same time.
Chapter 285 The Great Flood in India.
With the beginning of creation, all things in the world naturally manifested various gods.
The eight guardian deities below the Four Symbols are the eight principal gods headed by Indra, the god of heaven and earth. They are regarded as Devas, who are believed to reside in the heavenly realm and are also called celestial beings. However, the eight gods are just representatives, and the actual number is far more than that.
In contrast, there is the Asura, led by Frido.
Both sides consider themselves descendants of the Lord of Life, whose literal meaning is "Lord of all beings." The meaning of the term "Lord of Life" is very complex. Sometimes it refers to a specific deity or group of deities, sometimes it is just an abstract theological concept, and sometimes it is an alternative name or title for some gods. In any case, it is an existence below 'Brahman'.
Besides the goddesses and asuras, there are the demigods, the yakshas.
And the last and weakest being, humanity.
At this moment, the so-called "lord of life" in the perception of all things in the world are the four avatars. Since Shiva has not yet participated in worldly affairs and is still practicing asceticism in an unknown forest, and Vishnu, who lives on Mount Meru, has not yet manifested his various avatars to save the world, the world has not yet been dragged into darkness because he has not yet made various wishes. In addition, the various indiscreet things have not yet been known or done by sentient beings. Brahma, the "creator god", is the most likely avatar of the "lord of life" in the common perception of all things.
As for Kavia, who is even more mysterious than Vishnu and Shiva, all things know that as long as he is present, the four gods will continue to live in harmony...
Therefore, at the beginning of mythology, Brahma held the upper hand in the world. This was inevitable, since the other three gods were nowhere to be seen.
At this very moment, outside the battlefield where the Asuras and Devas are fighting, a rare great flood is about to occur in the human world.
"you--"
Vipassavata, the progenitor of humankind and son of the sun god Surya and the cloud goddess Saran, gazed somewhat dazedly at the silver-haired man before him.
As an ascetic with supreme supernatural powers, he could naturally see that what was before him was extraordinary. It was an existence that emitted the same aura as the small fish that he had encountered during his ascetic practice, which was an incarnation of Vishnu. During his ascetic practice, Vipassavata took meticulous care of a small fish, but he never expected that it was an incarnation of Vishnu. Therefore, he was warned and built a large ship to avoid the great flood.
Unexpectedly, they encountered this person they were meeting for the first time on their journey.
"I have something to say to you."
The silver-haired man spoke calmly, but then simply took out a blueprint.
"this is for you."
They said they had something to say, but they didn't.
But that face, that gentle smile, made Vipassana subconsciously and respectfully accept the blueprint from the man's hand. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was a ship design. However, when he looked up again, the man had vanished.
Vipassavatara didn't dwell on it much. He simply bowed to the sky and immediately began searching for things to preserve and resources to build a boat, since a great flood was imminent.
However, he was curious whether the being he had just seen was Shiva or Kavia.
Vipassavata had heard that these two gods were very serious ascetics, dressed simply...
"Jia, what are you doing here, trying to steal my job?"
Just as the silver-haired man arrived in the sky, Vishnu, who had been waiting for half a day, said with a puzzled expression.
Vishnu had been watching everything perfectly well, waiting for Vipassavata, who had received his warning, to find the seven sages and spend time with them before the great flood arrived, and to preserve the seeds of various plants. Finally, in his first avatar, the great fish Macha, he protected the group and led them to the snowy peaks, successfully surviving the great flood.
Then Gavial suddenly appeared before Vibhasvata and handed him a blueprint for a large ship. Vishnu immediately saw that if the design was done that way, there would be no need to transform into the giant fish Macha to protect it. However, Vishnu was not upset that some of his responsibilities had been taken away from him, but rather curious about Gavial's actions, who, like Shiva, always stayed at home and never came out...
After all, whether Vishnu is dealing with humans, Devadattas, or Asuras, all he needs to do is maintain the existence of everything in the world.
Humans are arguably the least noticeable of the four races, completely unable to participate in the conflict between the Asuras and the Devas. The gods don't even bother to look at humans. For example, Vipassavata was the child born from the union of two gods, but because he was born in the human world, neither of the gods warned him about the Great Flood. It was only thanks to Vishnu's warning that humanity was wiped out.
Therefore, Vishnu found it strange that Kavia suddenly came to help humanity, since humanity was truly insignificant at that moment.
"Since you've seen it, do what you can. Vishnu, you can also consider me assisting you in your protection."
Gavia's words prompted Vishnu to nod thoughtfully.
So it was because of me that you helped humanity. As expected of Gavia, that's wonderful. But normally, even that stinky stone Shiva would listen to him.
Thinking of this, Vishnu laughed heartily and casually patted Gavia on the shoulder.
"Haha, alright then, since we haven't seen each other for so long, how about we chat a bit more?"
Gavia nodded, and then he and Vishnu began to look around and chat.
Although it was called a chat, it was actually Gavia listening to Vishnu complain about Brahma's various actions, such as creating the goddess of wisdom, Saraswati, who should be considered Brahma's daughter, but Brahma married Saraswati, which was against morality and reason.
For example, when Saint Brigus invited Brahma to a festival, Brahma was so engrossed in the music of the God of Salvation that he completely ignored the saint's call—actions that left the gods speechless.
While listening to Vishnu's words, Gavia was also silently reflecting on his current state.
In the previous instances, he was born as a human infant and ultimately failed to become a god. Even in South America, he used everything he had to defeat Ort, and he hardly ever used his divine perspective.
Now, it's different.
He was born a god, a state completely different from his previous human appearance. Although his heart remained the same, Gavia had an indescribable feeling about this.
As the oldest age of gods in the Type-Moon universe, it is filled with extremely pure true ether. The so-called mystery is not mystery, but simply common sense. In other words, it is the first age of gods from the perspective of the 21st century, before the arrival of the giants 14,000 years ago.
The difference between the First and Second Ages of Gods lies with the Colossi. During their advance, the Colossi burned all the civilizations that stood in their way, destroying both the primitive humans and the gods who fought to protect them. They reduced many once-thriving civilizations of the Age of Gods to ashes. Almost all the gods on Earth died in this battle, or rather, lost their physical bodies.
Because gods of higher existence do not die simply because their bodies are shattered, the concept of "gods" arises on a large scale. The giant god shattered the divine bodies of the gods, and the gods who were left with only spiritual bodies were naturally weakened without a doubt. As a result, the world ushered in the second age of gods. The damage caused by the giant god was not repaired until the end of the age of gods.
While the giant god was sweeping through the various pantheons of the planet, he did not reach the Indian pantheon; that is, he was destroyed by the Primal Holy Sword Wielder before he even arrived in India.
"Alright, the great flood is coming, I'm going to transform into the giant fish Mocha now."
After Vishnu finished speaking, he disappeared.
As the first incarnation, Vishnu could simply transform at this point. But in later circumstances, he could no longer simply incarnate; he would become the source and transform into other incarnations. These incarnations undoubtedly possessed their own will and even the possibility of transcending his source.
At the same time, Gavia also witnessed the world-ending flood arrive as promised, the water of which was icy cold.
But he also understood that the coldness of the flood was not actually related to the coldness known to humankind in later generations; it was merely a conceptual embodiment.
The limbs, skin, face, hair, and body of those who surpass the imagination of later generations can all be called superhumans. They are the ancestors of a new era of mankind who advance on a new land, breathing in pure air and seeing a mysterious blue sky.
Thus he thought, thus he pondered, being equal to Vishnu, the fourth aspect of the gods.
It doesn't involve the kind of thinking that humans do by gathering various kinds of information, nor does it involve speculating based on simple emotions.
Rather, it is the body's inherent functions that lead to involuntary, automatic judgments.
Like a true god, he contemplates.
God was thinking.
For him, time is not a limitation.
The churning of the Ocean of Milk has not yet occurred, so time is finite for all things, even for the Devas and Asuras, which only have a slightly longer lifespan. The so-called finite memory is synonymous with the finite life.
But for the four gods who stand at the very top of India, memory is infinite; in other words, life is meaningless, and everything is just a matter of a single thought.
Just like before when he was in South America, when the Smoke Mirror used God's perspective to show him what options Vivasbha had during his voyage and what the consequences of those options would be, Gavia had long since seen the options available to him and the inevitable process the Spanish would go through.
This time, however, it was he, as the supreme god of prophecy in India, who personally viewed things from a divine perspective.
That's right. In the Type-Moon universe, the gods and humans of the Age of Gods are basically unable to communicate. Don't simply assume that because they are gods, they have a huge amount of information. In fact, the fundamental scale is different. Just like the things that people and gods in the Age of Gods can see in two dimensions and three dimensions, the information is completely different. Even in the same situation, the information that humans and gods perceive, understand, and experience is completely different.
From God's perspective, the past and the future are parallel. Moreover, what actually happened and what didn't happen are also parallel. Even in a game from later generations, God would be in an 'omniscient' state, knowing everything, even the routes the protagonist didn't choose.
God is omniscient and omnipotent towards humans, and therefore cannot communicate with them. After all, for humans, the future and the past are unique, but in God's eyes, they exist in countless forms.
This feeling was extremely strong in Gavia, who was the fourth aspect of God, even more so than it had been in the period after he had dealt with Ort.
In fact, what followed in Vipassana's life unfolded exactly as Gavia remembered, and as if from God's perspective—
They built a great ship and sailed with seven sages, escaping the great flood and preserving the seeds of various plants. When the flood came again, Vishnu's first avatar, the great fish Macha, protected the group traveling in the ship designed by Gavia to the foot of the snow-capped peaks. Then, Macha revealed Vishnu, who bestowed blessings upon them. After the flood receded, Vipassavata offered sacrifices of ghee, curd, and milk to the gods, from which the maiden Ira was born.
Iro was originally a man, but he was cursed after accidentally entering Shiva's forest and was reincarnated as a girl named Iro. As a woman, she married Buta, the god of Mercury, and gave birth to King Huhu. Later, due to her piety towards the gods, she regained her manhood. Buta was the son of Soma, the god of the moon, so King Huhu and his descendants were known as the Moon Dynasty.
Besides Elo, Vipassavata had ten other children and one daughter. One of his children became the Sugarcane King and established the Sun Dynasty.
His daughter married Daksha of the Brahma lineage and gave birth to Shiva's first wife, Sati.
In conclusion, the Vipassavata family, who narrowly escaped the devastating flood during the war between the two races, significantly influenced the later pantheon of Hinduism.
After all, the Mahabharata occurred in the Moon Dynasty, while Rama existed in the Sun Dynasty, and according to Buddhist scriptures and traditions, Siddhartha Gautama was a descendant of the Sun Dynasty.
Even though everything seemed perfectly normal to Gavia, he still watched intently.
However, just as Vishnu was about to depart after bestowing his blessings, Vipassavata suddenly asked Vishnu:
“Vishnu, after receiving your warning, I encountered another supreme god, like a light and shadow, who bestowed upon me supreme things, but seemed to be in a state of impermanence, uncertainty, and incompleteness at all times, and then disappeared. I do not know which god it is. Could you please tell me?”
Upon hearing this, Vishnu glanced at the sky and then spoke naturally:
"You must know that one cycle of reincarnation in the world is divided into four eras: the perfect, the three-part, the two-part, and the Kali; the noble beings in the world are the gods, asuras, yakshas, and humans; humans are divided into four categories: Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vedas, and Shudras; a person's life is divided into four stages: celibacy, household life, forest dwelling, and seclusion; those who reside above all things in the world are the four gods, the four directions being the perfect, but the gods who govern the world are not four, and that is the fourth one."
"The fourth one besides management, is it the god Gavia?"
Vipassavatara murmured, and at the same time Vishnu had vanished from his sight.
Afterwards, surrounded by the seven sages, Vipassavata deciphered the blueprints and listened to the sound of the flood receding.
Afterwards, Gavia saw that Vipassana had offered sacrifices of ghee, curd, and milk, and placed the blueprints of the great ship among them, then knelt and bowed towards the sky, saying:
“O Gavia, Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, O Brahma who bestows blessings and bears the name of destruction, hear me.”
"The seasons change, but the world remains. I know what man is, but the flood still washes away his evil."
"Thus, the children of mankind born after me, in this new world, must not only spread the civilization of wisdom, but also abide by the oath I made to the Four Symbols, enjoy endless glory and envy, endure the occasional surge of hatred and jealousy, punish evil and rebellion, and be the offspring of hope who promote truth and goodness."
When foreign enemies invade, they fight back together.
They helped to eliminate the evil and wicked in the world.
There was a protracted war, which ended with me remembering what I said today.
If there are evil creatures slaughtering innocent lives, then join hands to kill them.
Thus, though time passes and the world changes, those who hold hope will always remain. Even if they tragically die with regrets, under God, you will still be on the right path, my children.
The voices of humanity's progenitors in the Indian world resonate here.
His voice could not reach the Devas and Asuras who were still engaged in a great battle, because humanity was still too weak.
But the world itself and the Four Symbols have already heard it.
Brahma, residing in a bustling area of the celestial realm, nodded slightly and then dismissed the matter.
Shiva, who was meditating in the forest, put down his weapon and slowly said "Good" towards the source of the sound.
Meanwhile, Vishnu, positioned atop Kavia, smiled and said:
"See? Wasn't what I said right?"
